Since the offical 2.1 RUU has now been rooted.... if i root my phone and flash a custom 2.1 rom will it fix the issues with the offical 2.1 update? Mainly the random reboots? really the only problem ive had with the offical release
Any ideas?
Hmmm. The reboots are like the audio issues, only some people see it happen. Only way to know is flash one, mines never done it on fresh 2.1.2

Hello,
can i upragde only the radio fw version ?some people are reporting better battery life with the new baseband fw. And if so, can i flash back the old "downrev" fw back, if i had problems ?
From :
Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31.zip - OLD, standard in 2.1 Roms
to
Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25.zip - NEW in Chinise Froyo 2
I currently have the unrbanded wwe version 1.25.405.1 installed.
This is something I too would be interested to know. I have tried to do some serching but this is the first case I can find regarding the new 2.2 radio from the chinese rom.
I am currently on Puzzlerom 7.3
Once the v8 rom / v8.0.1 is stable I will go to that. Unless we have ourselfs a 2.2 froyo rom out before that. As I use my phone in a variety of ways and in multipule situations, I cant go without it for very long. 2 hrs at a time max.
Hope to be able to test things though ^_^
Peace
Just Made the update trough recovery .now iam running at the 2.1 Rom with the new radio firmware active from the new android 2.2 chinese rom. Actually I see no problems at all

All components are working fine (gsm/umts,wlan,gps and bluetooth).
Only the frst Time GPS FIX takes a bit longer after update.
Also, the battery life seems to be a bit longer and the handy seems
to be more stable during calls with active data connections.
Two quick questions. First, what was the most recent software update that my phone wanted to install? It wouldn't work on my phone, and I was wondering if it was important. Second, does it matter if my phone is rooted and has the one click lag fix?
Thanks

The most recent update was JH7 which has quite a bit of fixes. The most likely reason why you couldn't install it was because you're rooted with one click lag fix.
The best/easiest way to get the update would be to just install cognition 2.1.6
It has the JH7 firmware along with voodoo lagfix.
id recommend going over to froyo( cog 2.2 beta 8) its much better than eclair....i dont face any laggs whatsoever.....do a masterclean first....
I updated to the latest OS Froyo 2.2 on my Captivate using the ODIN3 One Click Downloader.
How do I properly root my phone so I dont have to go back to 2.1 and then reupdate to 2.2?
Any help?
I was going to use the one click root for the galaxy s phones available on this site.
but it said it was only tested on 2.1 Eclair..
Does that matter or can I use it?
Okay scratch this.. i figured it out thanks to you all at XDA
I rooted my phone finally and now it has a lag super bad. Especially when texting..
Will Voodoo lagfix fix that?
Voodoo will help with overall performance of your phone (faster r/w access)
But.. um usually Rooting your phone doesn't cause Lag...
If your using the stock 2.2 update you would've needed to re-root your phone as it would wipe the phone.
Most custom ROM's already come "pre-rooted".
Alright i got it fixed.. im not sure what happened then cuz i updated it to froyo 2.2 using the odin one click downloader. Then rooted it using software from another post. Then it lagged super bad. I used oclf and its working great now. I couldnt figure out how to install voodoo so i just used that instead.

I have a rooted Sprint HTC Hero with Fresh 2.4 flashed and ever since I flashed the ROM I have had major market issues. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a patch or market upgrade to fix this problem. I've been researching for a week and finally decided to post about it.
is there reason why ur using fresh rom? If not, I'd suggest using the updated roms such as (jaybobs, cm7, sense 2.3.3)
As for your question, what kind of problem?
The dialer issue is still present with stock 2.3.5 sense 3.0, which is super annoying.
Of course unticking the mute incoming calls when phone face down option which resolves the issue is enabled by default and cannot be changed.
I didn't expect this coming.

Could anyone confirm if they have the issue or not. Thanks.

I have can confirm this problem persists after installing the latest OTA. It's hard to believe they didn't fix it in months.

I also saw the symptoms you described the short time I had 3.08.405.3 loaded and running. The funny thing is it didn't seem to start consuming the battery, in fact I was getting awesome battery usage during the 14+ hours I had it loaded. I still had over 75% battery left before I restored my nandroid backup and went back to 2.30.405.1. 2.3.5 also has some issues with Microsoft Exchange syncing that was driving me crazy plus this dialing issue made my decision easy. Now to wait for CM 9 and ICS...
I just noticed this dialer issue this morning, on sense 3.0 official rom, unrooted phone.
I had this issue on sense 2.1 initially, but I think it was resolved cos I hadn't noticed it for quite a while. But this newer 3.0 brings it back again?! have no idea what is going on...
Hope we will have a solution soon.
H_H
It was never resolved. This issue only comes up if you make or recieve a call. So if you restart your phone and don't make or recieve a call for a day, the issue won't come up.

OK, here is an update that I have experienced on my IncS. As I mentioned in my OP, I was seeing the symptoms of the HTC Dialer consuming battery usage after making a call when I flashed the Sense 3.0/2.3.5 RUU, so I restored a 'nandroid' backup and went back to Sense 2.1/2.3.3, but I was left with the HBOOT 2.00 and the newest radio.
I then used dsixda's HTC Kitchen and built a Sense 3.0/2.3.5 rooted ROM from the 3.08.405.3 RUU and 'upgraded' my Sense 2.1/2.3.3 install using this ROM and I am no longer seeing the HTC Dialer issue and my battery life is at least as good as it was on Sense 2.1/2.3.3 (still have 64% left after 27 hours of use).
Bugs the hell outa me.
With the 2.3.5 sense 3 ota installad, am I able to root the phone and install a custom rom?

Yes you can by unlocking HBOOT 2.00.0000 at HTCDEV.com and then you can install a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod or EXT4 and then flash a custom ROM. Once you flash the custom ROM, you will then manually need to flash the boot.img file contained in the custom rom.zip file using FASTBOOT mode.
Check the sticky post in this section.
Thank you!
