Hello,
Thanks in advance for your time & help. I'm having a problem flashing to a Cyanogen Mod Rom. I'm trying to boot into recovery mode, but when I do I always end up being stuck at the exclamation point with the android beside it. Im on Win7, N1, Amon Ra Cyanogen Mod image.

If you have the exclamation point, then you still have stock recovery.
Means you dont have Amon_RA's.
Hit Power+VolUP to try show up the menu.
If it does, then it's the stock.
Go reflash your recovery.

When you say you mounted the the sdcard on your phone did you do it in recovery using the command "ums_enable" or did you reboot the phone so you could do it from the Android OS, if you allowed the phone to fully reboot it will overwrite your custom recovery with the stock recovery image

after i flashed the recovery and what not.
i turned my phone off home and power got me to recovery
so i restarted my phone and put the rom on the sdcard from my computer.
so thats the wrong way to do it?
so i should it in recovery from now on?
Once you flash your recovery, don't allow your phone to fully reboot or the stock recovery will overwrite the custom recovery you just installed
So make sure all the zip files you are going to need are already on you're sd card when you reboot to recovery
hi all,
I want to update cm 5.0.8 test3 from 5.0.7, but i can't boot to recovery mode, always when trying to load it got G1 screen and in upper left corner message "FASTBOOT USB", what's wrong, where is my recovery mode, i have RA-dream 1.7.0. installed already
pls help
thx
This has been talked about. You gotta flash a new recovery thru fastboot.
Ok so I rooted my nexus and loaded cyanogenmod rc3. I never had a problem getting into recovery mode before. However, when I try to boot into recovery it just stays stuck on the X screen. I've let it sit for 10 minutes and still it stays stuck. I've tried to reload rom manager and flashed clockwork recovery and still it doesn't work. I've searched this forum and googled it and tried everything thats been said to do. Still no go. Anyone have any idea what is going on? Thanks in advance.
Have you tried fastboot flash recovery. Its best to do it through fast boot and also you should give amon recovery a try if it still wont work
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Yeah I tried getting into recovery through fastboot and still it just hangs on the X screen. Think I'm gonna have to try the amon recovery and see if that works. Thanks.
I basically flashed CWM's (clockwork mod) recovery screen from the application on my G1 running the latest Cyanogen Mod Rom (6.0) becuase i thought it was very practical and i needed a new recovery screen. I knew not that it would lock my phone and I now can't access the recovery screen nor will it start up. It won't even reach the nice splash screen that was put in the rom by the nice folks at CM. It solely is stuck in a boot loop with the factory splash screen. The one thing i can access is the fastboot screen. I've downloaded androids SDK and put it on the root of my Windows Vista computer and now i know not what to do. Anyone please help because im using this old Qualcomm phone from the 90s and its horrible. Thank you so much anyone who reads this and helps in advance.

just boot into fastboot and go to Amon Ra's thread in the G1 section. Just follow his fastboot instructions

Im sorry if im posting in the wrong place but i got a problem that i havent been able to fix. So i have a Htc one m7(at&t) is unlocked, has s-on and ofcourse is rooted. So currently im using insertcoin 7.0.4 and was using twrp custom recovery and it work perfectly. The thing is i wanted to flash the latest insercoin that is 7.0.7 but when i go to bootloader and hit recovery it goes to the logo part where it says "entering recovery" like always then it goes black for a few seconds and then comes back to the logo screen still saying "entering recovery" and it stays in that screen and it never goes into recovery. I try everything i used twrp and goo manager to install twrp or even clockmod and nothing it doesnt work, i even reflashed the custom recovery via command and nothing. My friend even install the stock recovery and it doesnt work. So i cant do nothing. My phone works fine, it is just that problem I cannot enter recovery. I search a lot but nothing help so please if you could help that will be a big help. Btw im sorry if im posting in the wrong place im new here. Thank you

Flash TWRP by MdMower, that should do it: https://android.cmphys.com/twrp-m7/
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.6.5-m7univ.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
