Amplify Volume? - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an app or tool or method to increase the volume of the speakers for ringtones and speakerphone? Some of them just seem too low for me, and i've already edited them to the point where they are loud before they distort.

Look for "Louder Volume Hack" on the Market.
Many thanks to its Dev, Meltus.
There is an open thread about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=671414
Works beautifully and working 100%

Meltus on that link is quoted in saying the following:
"The LVH application is on the market for £2.50 and has many more features (of course, everything can be done completely for free here!)"

Tweaking Audio-Volume

Good evening...
Short question: I was asking myself whether the soundvolume of the HTC Kaiser is somehow software-locked, so it might be possible to tweak the speaker volume a little bit?
I wouldn't mind knowing this, as mine is lower than the Hermes, even for in music mode.
Audio Volume
Try searching for these programs: "Audio_Full_Boost", and "Audio and sound Gain" on xda. I think the former makes the most difference.

Heres the solutions: install attached cab and phone will prompt for soft reset. trust me it will be louder. enjoy!
Is this cab better than the srs wow? Or just boosts the sound?

Better to me but try it and you be judge. SRS you can customize your sound (equalizer bass ect.), but this cab increases overall system sound which will enhance your experience with SRS. try it you'll see.

[SOLVED] Speaker Sound Problem! App available

Hi there,
have somebody tried the DSP SoundManager? I extracted this one from the CyanogenMod ROM and get a little bit better sound...
May you want to try it! Maybe there is a forward developed version of this, so please post it!
Regards, Andi
I can't notice any difference. I had the speaker on hi then installed it pumped up the settings and it made no difference.

Same here ..
I'm new here and with no experience, but maybe we need rooted device to work?! It would be nice to hear navigation while driving..
I have a rooted device. But I don't hear any difference.
Moved to Themes and Apps
Cheers,

no way
Downloaded and installed no difference at all.
What I have to understand is why POWERAMP with its settings (equalizer set to loud speaker value) has a far better volume than the stock music player.
If we can get its way to do that an app like the one in this thread may work.
May be poweramp just modifies in realtime the mp3 values I don't know really we need to investigate.
Youtube for example has a very poor volume altough the copilot using SVOX TTS voices (with SVOX volume at 200) is good enough.
I think is just the kernel I don't understand why the quality is so bad with some features and so good with others....
hmm i just watched a video from htc. and the introduce a feature that the device recognize where it is, for example in your pocket or backpack and if you get a call it will raise the speaker volume...
but i dont know if its just to the maximum which probalby everybody has set or if you can go over this limit...
Here is working version of DSP manager.
its a start, but i think this workaround creates some other problems... for my self, i just increased the volume of my ringtone and it worked as well.
hopefully this dspmanager workaround gets updatet or even htc will take care of it...

volume tweak?

are there any volume mods like the resound one there used to be? tia.
I've always wondered if there was a way to boost the in call volume. Sorry to Jack your thread, but it does fit under a volume tweak

Depending on the rom you have, assuming it's either Sense or GPE only, I have three links for you.
1) Project ERA Sound mod by @ZeroInfinity
2) Sound Explosion by @doc3000
3) IntenseBLAST by @ZeroInfinity
Now I linked to two mods that clear up the sound, and one that loud-ens volume, but the volume cant be raised extremely high since these boomsound speakers arent made for that. They do have a limit. Check out thread #3 for the volume loudness.
Viper4android. Not only does it do speakers it does head-phones too. It affects all sounds from the phone. So calls, videos, games, and obviously straight up music. Its super easy to use and you just tweak it as you want. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223

Dolby audio jag motog6+

Im having trouble with the Dolby app, when I active dolby the sond decreases about 15-20% and with headphones you can change the EQ 3notches.
It also changes the default EQ in Google music for example to the Dolby version were you cant increase the bass in the EQ. Is the some workaround for this? Or does anyone else experience the same thing?

Switch off volume leveller if on. In my case with the option on it lowered Bluetooth audio streaming considerably...
I personally installed ViPER4Android and totally switched off Dolby, since I find V4A much more enhanced and can be fine tuned to one's liking. Problem is that while streaming through Bluetooth, it's really inconsistent and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But if you're mainly using a wired headset, I suggest you give it a go...
Yes I understand, but I just got it dosen't jag want to root it yet! Viper is one of the best things along with xposed to Android(vanilla of course) but I hope someone can remove the restrictions for headphones in the Dolby app, if I coymuld I would. Best reegards Pierre Gothenburg Sweden det

Dolby itself is not the problem but did you attempt to turn off volume leveling or not?
xposed is nice but there are much better options out there. To my knowledge xposed still reverts art back to dalvik and decreases performance quite considerably imo.
You can either try volume boosting apps on the play store or you have to root. If rooted you can either use Viper, or modify system file (mixer something xml - I forgot the name of the file) to boost the volume.
Just because the device is new doesn't really factor in to if you should root or not, imo, unless the root solution is not stable which is not the case here. You can always unroot later and if for some reason you reach a point where you can't uninstal root, you can attempt to send the device back to Moto and hope you get a replacement.

If by "it complains" you mean the warning you get when you raise the volume too much, it's there on purpose to avoid damage to your ears. If I'm not mistaken, the only way to disable that is through root and xposed...

NO I mean that its a restriction in hos much you can change The EQ, it says Sue to security you cant raise the EQ more Ryan 3db,and I know that dB is sund, but The volume is way luder and you can smide The bass slider to max without headphones. I use a-jays 5.

All restrictions are to avoid damage to your ears, that's why you can change things to higher values on speakers but not on headphones... You would have to root to have full control over this.

You can do several things with and without root:
No root: disable headset limitations guide - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.**********.com/disable-safe-volume-warning-no-root-required/amp/
With root: Install V4A app and set it up to your liking, or don't and just use Dolby but disable limitations with an xposed module. You can find several guides on XDA or through Google.
As for V4A working with Art or Dalvik, I'm no expert and don't understand what difference this may make regarding audio quality, but I can tell you V4A works perfectly fine with a headset on my G6+, as well as on several of my other older devices, too. Only issue is Bluetooth streaming which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, depending on which audio device you're connecting to, but I can live with that...

Thanks for your time and knowledge, I couldn't find a good way to bypass this exept disabling it! I fond another EQ and cant say that I hear ny difference. Maybe in The movie mod, but I'll finetune it so you cant hear any difference. At least not in my A-jays 5 or my Bluetooth headset, but I prefer The A-jays 5 beacase of the sound and it dosen't drain my battery (Bluetooth))!

Phone speaker is AMAZING. Potential is hidden.

ROOT/Magisk REQUIRED
Well, in my hastiness to mod this phone, I did a couple things, namely Viper Audio FX Magisk module in Magisk downloads within the Magisk app, and dual speaker module for Magisk which you can get here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/themes/magisk-stereo-speaker-mod-oneplus-6t-t3860041. I'm running the BOOSTED dual speaker now. Decided to see if my magical speaker config on Viper would give me results like it did on my 3T, and boy, it's a real surprise on this phone. The stock audio tuning on the speaker hides what it can actually do.
Now, you'll need the Convolver profiles for Viper Audio to reproduce my settings. You can get the profiles in this zip: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767141554. It's under modules > profiles. Just copy the Viper4Android folder you find in there and store it. You will need to install Magisk with Viper Audio FX and the optional dual speaker mod for the 6T.
Once you get the Viper dual speaker modules installed, plug your phone into your PC and copy the Viper4Android folder you copied from the zip with the profiles, into the internal shared storage root. Close when done.
You can now open the Viper4Android app and enable speaker master, convolver, and speaker optimization switches.
If you click on Convolver it will take you to a menu where you can select profiles. Leave the knob that's next to the profile selector @ 0%. Make sure your main volume is down, because when you select the TUBEAMPLIFIER profile, the volume will boost.
Now you can enjoy rich, deep, sound from the very underrated speaker
----------------------------------------------------------
So I made another interesting discovery. I installed the latest Cleanslate kernel(version 2.7.7 is the latest from the date of this post) which you can get here along with the configuration(2.9.0) and companion(2.5.0) app, and in the configuration app it allows for tuning of the speakers(yes the earpiece speaker as well!).
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files...&sort_dir=DESC
I boosted the earpiece speaker to level 7 when I was using reduced dual speaker. Backed it down to 5 on boosted dual speaker, on the slider of the Cleanslate configuration app, and hit save. I think the damn earpiece speaker might be almost as meaty as the bottom speaker. It doesn't distort for ****, and the range of sound is astounding! I think we have a true second speaker for our phone, boys and girls! This is pretty awesome!
I paired it with my ViperAudio tweaks and the OnePlus 6T is now like a portable boombox, lol. I love this phone!
Followed your steps to chose the "Tubeamplifier and technics" profile. Let's see how much difference does it make. I will write my experience later.

Awesome. How do you like it? Those are just my preferences, so it's not limited to just that config. I just found it to work the best for the speaker. Reveals more low frequency in the speaker, while maintaining the nice mids and highs.
I wasn't expecting such a drastic change. I was playing a song on about half volume before applying the profile, tapped on the profile and BOOM. It was like the volume was turned all the way up, and sounded much more rich. Then I kept turning the volume up slowly to see where it would start distorting, and to my surprise it never did. Full volume is now about 2x as loud and sounds much much better. Whatever you did with that profile is a gamechanger.

I did nothing lol. Just a nice discovery I made fiddling with my old 3T and applied it here. Pretty dramatic result, right? Looks like OnePlus is sandbagging big time with the hardware. Luckily, our development community can take advantage of such wonderful hardware offerings.

Because overengineered parts are great for better durability. This tweak demonstrates the quality of parts that OnePlus uses on their phone, which seem to be astounding quality.
Based on the response, I'm going to definitely be downloading and trying this out. Though, I'll also probably upload the profiles to something else because that is a damn large file lol. I just wanna download to me phone?
It works! Great find! I kept the speaker optimization off as I don't enjoy low frequency on a mobile speaker.
