Swype for Vogue - Touch CDMA Android Development

So I tried to use a 320x480 version of swype on my vogue and it registers the taping of keys, but not the swipes. I'm assuming it's part of the double touch/ ****ty screen on the vogue, but does anyone have a working version? I've heard and seen that it's the new way to text... so yeah any ideas or help would be great

Was working great for me, check the nexus one themes and apps thread for the themed swipe versions. They install and swype just fine.

I was using a different one posted by jamezelle, but I uninstalled that and used the one scotter posted and that one shows up in the settings, but does not display the keyboard when I go to text... The other one did show up, it just didn't register my swipes:/ I'm using Myns Warm Donut... if that means anything...

Do a hold tap on the text input field, select input method, and choose swype.
Make sure its enabled in your settings.
Those are the steps I took and it worked fine for me.

Yup I just had to hold and change the input. Works great! Thanks.

Hazardous theme and dialer

Hazardous
Hello folks... today I have for you a small theme and a fitting dialer.
While the theme isn't working well on landscape (I'll do it later), the dialer works both on portrait and landscape - it even works properly on square displays.
Have fun!

wow what a great theme...thnx Utak3r
Thanks. You can download also my theme for BatteryStatus (you can see it in action on this screenshot). It's here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1634471&postcount=2771
This theme reminds me of Ubuntu Linux
Keep up the good work, but pardon me for having a different taste. I only like chocolate brown when I can eat it, not on my today screen.
But can you tell us what the visible today screen plugins are, besides BatteryStatus?
thanks
I like the look of this. Many thanks for your efforts.
Keep up the good work.

Just tried both items; excellent. 2 questions:
- have you thought about having another view option within the dialer to switch off the contacts window entirely?
- noticed as well that whatever view option one selects, as soon as you close the dialer down and reopen it defaults straight back to the "calls & contacts" view option. You might want to fix this so that whatever view option is chosen remains until manually changed over again.
- also have you thought of creating a dialer with a video option within it, so that its universal and can run on, say, a hermes/TyTN?
Cheers

Lava themed HTC IME keyboard mod.

So, I was bored this morning and I created a skinned HTC IME mod using Gimpsta's theme generator found here: http://www.gimpsta.com/themerlo/main.php
I did it using a key template I made and a simple filter using GIMP 2, along with the "transparent" key options on the themer. Hoping to make a tutorial soon on how I did it cause it's pretty cool.
Here is what it looks like. (download link below screenshots)

Amazing Work! Im gonna try this as soon as my phone comes back from repair
That is god damn horrible.
Niclas90 just be warned, since the "buttons" are made on the background image itself, the compact QWERTY and the number/symbol boards don't line up well, but if you rarely use those, like myself, then you may not mind it.
Detol Loki, I am sorry you do not like it. I know it is a crazy design, but on my phone it is actually perfectly legible with the background. But I understand not everyone will like it.
Lastly, if any mods wouldn't mind. I posted this on android forums too and was told I couldn't post the link to the IME since it isn't part of the open source stuff. Please let me know if this is an issue here as well. It never crossed my mind before, since I have seen so many links all over the place to modded IME's. If it is a problem please accept my apologies and remove the download link from my post. My goal is not to cause any trouble anywhere.

Blackout dialer for Twingerbread ROM

The attached file is blackout dialer for Twingerbread ROM. The update package should work on any version of the ROM. It may work with other ROMs too but i am not responsible if it doesnt and bricks your phone
Just flash is using CWM recovery over any existing version of twingerbread.

does it scale with various dpi's OP? other than that concern, it looks great!
The Contact square is all black and doesn't match
Sending, sending, sent.
It's true that the Contacts square doesn't match, but in that pic I have to say that that is one of the better Contact squares that I have seen.
I had an odd experience with dialers a few days ago. I'm sure there must be an explanation for all of it.
I downloaded a dialer that I thought looked pretty good in pics. This in an effort to gain a multi-DPI dialer. Once downloaded and installed, though, I couldn't stand to look at the dialer. In the Contacts square you could see the top of the letter C and maybe the t. I replaced it with Dialer One.
In Dialer One i would punch in that series of characters that is supposed to give you LbsTestMode. When I hit send, the old dialer that I did not like would immediately appear. No LbsTestMode, just that dialer.
I thought that to be strange.
I was so ready for 6.0.
(For some reason it happens here on XDA that I click on a thread, thinking that I am in a completely different forum. If this post doesn't seem to fit, it's because I though I was somewhere else. Seriously.)
Since I'm editing, I'll say that someone actually did a nice job with that gray line underneath the squares. Just my opinion.

Dialer hidden setting

Hi all. I'm looking and trying but I can't find the setting to make all the buttons hidden during a call and just show a tab to drag up to show the dialer. I've set it before but it gets reset everytime I update cm7. Thanks!
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Ok, still no solution, so maybe this will help....
currently my in call screen looks like this:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It used to look like this:
Somewhere through updating the cyanogen 7 nightlies I lost the option for "Force Touch UI" so that option is of no help.
any help would be great as I keep hitting buttons with my face because the proximity sensor on the phone is crap

The heroc does not have a proximity sensor.
As to the other question, I have not been able to find the option to hide the buttons. The only thing I can think to do would be to set the screen to turn off sooner.
There was an app or mod a while back that used the light sensor to turn the screen off or make the buttons go away. I cant remember what it was called but should work.
The second screen shot looks like an alternative dialer app. Might be worth it to try a non-stock dialer app to see if it does what you want.

[Q] Is it possible to change docking settings?

Hi there,
Apologies if this is a noobie question, but is it possible to change the docking settings from the blue background, and time/weather display? Or is there an app that will do the job?
I wondered if there might be something that could do a slide show of my pictures, or a screensaver - just something a little more entertaining for when I'm bored at work!
I did have a search of the forums, but couldn't see an immediate answer.
Many thanks in advance
Just get a live wallpaper from the market. I use one and its alright. Look..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u8NhYBGRVY
Thanks for that - but a live wall paper is not the solution - I have a very nice Galaxy livepaper, but the moment I plug it into my dock/charger, I get this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}

Is there anyway to change the setting for this?
Cheers
[ah... can't post links because I'm a noobie.. oh well...]
You can press the menu button on the bottom left of your device. That will bring up a menu and you can go into the setting and change things about the background. Cheers
That's excellent - just what I was after - thank you so much!
Hmmm... it shows my nice galaxy live wall paper for a bit, and then for some reason reverts back to the blue screen again - is there another setting somewhere?
Many thanks
