Just out of interest; why is this forum full of people who jump into threads by people the slightest mistake and subsequently make their best effort to slag off/humiliate the OP?
If you don't have anything nice to say, it's probably better to say nothing at all... Does it really totally ruin your day to have to look down one thread further to find the next 'real' dev thread? At least smjfosho explained where to post - you were just 'jumping on the bandwagon.'

OnTopic: for me it is cannon202 complete eclair rom
//Nick

You can never go wrong with Cyanogen.

To the contrary Nick, I've found 5.0.* to be really slow for me, I was very disappointed. SpeedTeam latest roms are amazingly fast in comparison. About to try Cannons too.

Thanks up there guys!^
Which Rom do you perfer, CaNNoN's lateest or SuperEs latest? Talking in speed, batterylife, and everyday use

v1.0.1 Super E has it all!
Flash it and you will see for yourself.

Super E.
You get stable (cyanogen build) and you get speed (Ben is crafty). It is the only 2.1 I consider FAST AND STABLE.

Yeah guys!^ it is extremely fast! Im absolutely amazed. When will they fix the spare parts glitch though? Its kinda bugging me since i want a black theme. And you think Cyanogen 5.0.8 Stable is going to be as near as fast as SuperE or more to the CaNNoN speed?

Ohh and i put an avatar, why isnt it showing when i post?
EDIT: Got it.

In regards to the Spare Parts Color selector for the status bar use v1.0.1 to fix that issue for now.
Ben Buchacher is set to release another version of Super E soon, could be that he will use Cyanogen v5.0.8 stable

He tried to jack someones phone from here under the guise of a trade and it was found that he was the one that leaked Haykuros hero build before it was done. He got the superbanhammer
They were never really his roms anyway. He just hacked up JAC's work and made **** graphical changes. I saw through it from the start but clearly most people didn't. The "guy was a ****".

Don't get me wrong, he ripped things out and reduced the memory footprint of JAC's roms, so they were probably the best we had at the time - but they were still just JAC's roms. Any of us could've done what he did without getting all big headed about it and thinking we were the xda messiah. I always got the impression Drizzy was about 15 and just wanted the attention.

I don't know tbh, I've moved away from hero/senseui, it started to grate on me after a while. I'm back with cyan's roms for now and working on some heavily themed builds of my own. I'm all about the speed and slickness these days.

Wow I guessed that same age XD
But drizzy really had no idea what he was talking about. He would just throw around words like "odexed" without actually knowing what it meant, as well as "hinting" at where certain things could be fixed (and no they werent right)
Not to mention that he kept claiming that he fixed bluetooth on hero

After you answer his question. I personally like Sense 2.1 build 21XXX because it run smooth on the TP2... so you should go for a rom like that... but if u want extra eye candy... etc etc going with sense 2.5

There is no best rom.
Look, this thread is full of roms, isnt it? So what is the purpous of this thread and for that matter, your question?
Especially when a cook comes and says "Try mine it is the best".
I ought to think that there would be no replys at all but here is my typing in it.
Look arround and take a pick, if you dont like picked rom try another...
That is the all wisdom.
And if you like one sooo much give donation, to XDA or the cook.
Help us help you.
What don't you like about the Stock ROM? The more specific you get answering this, the better we could help you. Otherwise look around and just pick one. It's not like you're going to be stuck with it forever. There are so many to choose from that you'll eventually find "The One" for you.
Happy flashing.
i dont like the stock rom at all. its slow! i think u should be able to customize alitlle bit more with the TF3D. as for the settings not being there to change. haveing to rely on registry edit, like the msg notice deal. n the wifi dont reconnect after cuming back from suspend. it suck pretty much..
im lookin for a rom that fully unlocks the setting, and is stable. and looks half way desent. i was liken the core evo. thats about all that i looked at really.
i just aint tryin to mess up my fone. i guess i can just look around. just tryin to get peeps opinions. yeh if i find a rom that i like i prolly will donate.. u aint gettin my money that eazy. i just got here. havent even found a rom

Well my personal favorite are jackos s2 V1.3 smartmove fast and stable, Core Cell evo for the eye candy, deepshining loaded with nice app and program, and my all time favorite Joshkoss STABLE-FAST-PROFESSIONAL
thanks man. im gonna try em
jackos s2 V1.3 is the fastest/ bugfree too me. im using full, but from what i read all versions are good depending on what your looking for. There isnt a new version every two weeks or so like other roms which shows how stable his roms are imo.
fyi:you're going need the keyboard fix cab for the tilt2.
How did you put hardspl on your st7377? I for some reason can't. It just won't work for me :/
Have to say, STABLE, FAST, PROFESSIONAL (Josh's ROM) has been the fastest, most stable ROM I've used so far...

[ROM][OMFGB 1.1 - Stable!] Gingerbread Rom for Inc

Just flashed the latest OMFGB 1.1 Rom to my incredible. Everything is working and is blazingly fast. Using Launcher Pro for my Launcher. A great build and definitely recommend it! Seems to be the first Stable build of Gingerbread for the Incredible.
I have to say, I haven't used OMGB or OMFGB, but I run the Cyanogen nightly #10, and was very impressed at how stable it is. I'm only back on a Sense rom because I have to find alternatives to 2 of my apps that aren't update for GB yet......

Theres actually 3 developers now working on this build. I've used CM7 as well and the OMFGB 1.1 Rom Build. I have MUCH better performance with OMFGB vs CM7. So obviously they are doing something different. Also, all of my Apps work on OMFGB 1.1

And 2 of the 3 are banned from xda. The reason it's "smoother" is because you're using Launcher Pro.

I'm a nexus owner. If you've ever been to the N1 Dev section, you'd see that a fair percentage of the roms there were stolen work. Half of those are CM kang-bangs. My point is, I can wade through the bullsh*t.

If you want to use OMFGB, do it. Nothing I say or do will stop you, it's the internet. But stop for a sec and think about it from a developer standpoint: do you like being stolen from?

CM7 is open sourced, just like anything and everything AOSP, hence the "OS" part. I really can't endure another thread where devs are bashed. If you don't like it, great. You don't have to post it, you don't even have to enter the thread or make comments aiming towards dissuading people from using the ROM in the OP.
Think about it from the standpoint of a human being: Do you really like hearing the same negativity about the same devs?
"...flaming another member, or group of members, is not acceptable behavior."
For the sake of this ROM's thread, which I have been anxiously awaiting, please direct your slander elsewhere.

[Q]best rom on my g1

yo wassup people
i got my g1 on cyanogen nigtly 25x or 27x some **** like that...
it has the kernel with extra memory and also that new radio...
so right now i wondder, since ive been out of the game for like a month or 2
what is the overall best rom you would choose?
i know that the gingerbread roms arent gonna be 100% even tho cyanogen got someone workin on it, so i wont ask about those...
but what about this new froyo by laszlo? or biffmod? sparksmod? how do they stack up?
i do a lot of reading but it dont help much and im already too busy so i cant actually test them all right now... so i wonder does anyone have prior experience with these mentioned roms, or possibly better ones...

Cyanogen has got nobody working on gingerbread on G1. EzTerry is the legacy master for G1 gingerbread and many variations of his gingerbread roms have become available. The best I found and currently using is Ginger Yoshi by Yoshua. You can find it in the HTC SAPPHIRE/MAGIC forum. Its almost hundred percent. Very fast and cool. Try it

They have been talking about Cyanogen taking on (or asking somebody to take on) gingerbread for G1/Magic since the day gingerbread was announced but that has been categorically denied by Cyanogen himself several times. As for trying Froyo roms goes, its your choice brother......but its a huge PSYCHOLOGICAL pleasure and satisfaction when you see "ANDROID VERSION 2.3.2" written in your phone settings......that phone which is two and a half years old....well I love it that we dream/sapphire users have fast and cool gingerbread roms while Samsung Galaxy people have just got froyo only.........LOL

You should definitely try FroyoByLaszlo. Its probably the best ROM I've ever used. I've been using it since v1, and I usually never stay on a ROM for this long. It's by far way faster than any other Froyo ROM I've used. Plus, there's quite a lot of themes for it, so you can do a lot of customizing.

Laszlo is fast and from what I've been reading, has good battery life. I'm actually downloading the rom now to try out the new version. I've been using CM 6.1. That is also a good rom. You might want to try both of them and maybe other roms to. Just to see which one you like. Use them for a few days so you can check stability and batterylife.
Thanks man, I am currently using ezterry's AOSP and I can tell you that it is much2 faster than biffmod, you guys should try it! you have to upgrade the spl and radio first but it is not hard!

[Q] New to Roms.. Which would be best for performance speed?

Let me just say.. I HATE the stock rom on the cappy. I always get force close errors and the phone always lags/freezes. I thought that when they released 2.2 it might get better. It didn't... Does anyone know of a rom that might be the best for performance speed so I don't have these issues anymore? I checked into Firefly and Cyganomod 7 and they both look really nice.
Also, is there a way you can preview a rom before you install it? I saw a thread about being able to do so on the HD2, but on that thread, they said that is the only phone you can do it on..
I'm sorry if these are kind of nooby questions, but I am a flashing newb and would like to get some help before I do harm to my phone..
Most people are going to tell you to read and I would also suggest that.... as far as roms go, phoenix, firefly, supernova are all very good. If you want something more like stock then there is cognition and fusion.
Just try to read up on the roms as each will be a little different.

Thanks Frank. I like the layout of the cappy stock, but it's just too damn slow for me..
Continuum is my choice right now. VERY stock look in the unthemed version.
Most of the roms have screen shots of their opening page(OP). As far as performance/battery life/etc, that varies with each phone and its user.
As a beginner, I (and so would most others)would recommend staying away from CM7 (and MIUI and Darky's). They are multi step flashing processes where just ONE tiny mistake can cause someone to start drinking again(after they pull their hair out).
Do research. Most of the roms have threads in the Development Section. Begin reading aboiut them from page 1. There is also a thread just for those new to rom flashing in the Development Section. READ IT.
Good Luck. If Ihave helped in any way, please don't forget about the thank you button.

If you ever need more help than reading, google Mobile TechVideos. The guy makes very clear vids on how to flash a ROM and also shows you different one (he has quite a few videos). I use Phoenix 7.3 myself and it's beautiful - Firefly and Supernova are just as nice IMO.
As others mentioned, really take time and read alot!
I personally like Paragon RC6....great fast, stable ROM!
Like said above, stay away from CM7, not for beginners, and still Beta!
READ...READ...READ the forums on the various Roms!
Thanks for the advice everyone. I found a sticky guide for flashing that I will use to help me. I also decided on going with FireFly 2.7. I just wish there was really a way to preview the rom on the cappy like you can on the HD2.
But again, thanks everyone for your help!

Thanks Frank. I like the layout of the cappy stock, but it's just too damn slow for me..

If you like the stock cappy look and feel, definitely try out cognition. very default with all bloats removed with added speed and stability. good luck
there is no competition with cm7 when it comes to speed.
its the fastest you'll ever get on your cappy.. you must try it.
if speed is the most important thing you look for, cm7 is the best fit

Yeah, as long as you don't mind a camera that almost works and not being able to mount your SD card, CM7 is it. Oh, and don't forget the crappy battery life. The guy is a newbie. Why would you recommend CM7 to a newbie.
Thread closed, since best rom depends in what suites for you.
