Please don't create a new thread to ask about a ROM which already has a thread open. Search the ROM thread and then direct your questions to the ROM thread if you cannot find your answer after searching.
Mods, please close this thread.
theres over 500 pages. after a search it probably doesnt narrow it down enough to where any person would go through each post and look for an answer. i honestly dont blame him. especially since theres a lot of residual off topic stuff from older roms, its not worth searching in that thread.

Doesn't matter, this still doesn't belong in the dev forum.
I'm sorry. I am new to this posting stuff. I did not instead to upset or offend anybody. what is the rom thread can you point to it?
clear the data on sense and reboot. That fixed it for me.

i agree, they should start a new thread for 2.09 since it the FINAL build.

I actually started a new thread on this same topic. (I missed this in my initial search)
I did go through all of the pages, and to no avail on the damagecontrol thread.
While there should be a new page for 2.09, there is not, and this is a Q&A forum. So whats the problem in asking?
Why hunt down a thread and ask for its removal while its appropriate?
How about some helpful advice?
Lots of Force Close on system functions
I'm finding that, though there are a lot of great functions to this rom, some of the base functions (most notably - PC Sync) throws force close errors:
Attach phone to PC via USB
USB Debugging comes on - no option to choose "Charge only" or "Mount as Disk Drive" etc
I go to Settings > Connect to PC
Error: application Settings (process com.android.settings) - Force Close
I'm going to try clearing data on HTC Sense... oh, it's not listed in Manage Applications.
So what now?
Thanks for any help.
First question to you guys is "Did you wipe Data, Dalvik and EXT in the recovery menu?"
Second The clock did not appeared after flash "The first post in the ROM thread specifically tell you to go to Setting/Application/Manage Application and clear data for the HTC Sense.
Third if you could not find the HTC Sense to clear the data then it must be something wrong with the flash --> Re-Wipe and Re-Flash
Most of people get into trouble is because they don't wipes when go to new ROM, second don't assume that the first flash always work. Third the file you download sometime get corrupt --> re-download and try again.
First Boot expecting to be long leave it for 15 minutes. If you have trouble sign on to google at first, just skip it. Let the ROM load then add the account under Account and sync.
If you run into trouble with data not working at first, just toggle airplane mode ON then OFF to re-initiate data connection.
Hope this help u guys.

Well I answered it! Haha I might be able to help you out here too.
I recently encountered a problem with Super User not connecting to anything, and what I did was just re-flash the ROM right on top of what was already running. It won't wipe anything, besides a theme, and it also works by re-installing the stock apps. Data is never lost, but sometimes it resolves problems within apps.
What it sounds like is that your IM app isn't connecting to data services. Try all EDGE/3G/WiFi connections. If that's a no go, re-install the app with a re-flash of the ROM. If that STILL doesn't work, wipe and re-flash.
Let me know how that goes :]

Alright, cool. Personally, I would give up on the Stock app and switch to one of the other countless IM apps on the market, because they're constantly updated and quite frequently have more features to offer, but that's just my opinion :].

You won't be able to get it from the market, but you can unzip any build with it in it and drop the app on your SD card and install with an App manager program.
That's odd, you might want to try re-installing the app then :].
This has been going on for 3 days now, and I haven't been able to find any topic on this so far.
For the last 3 days, I cant' get any market updates, or new market apps. It just says "starting download", but won't actually download. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Market App (Vending), did a wipe, nothing seems to fix this issue. I even installed a new ROM fresh.
Has anyone come across this issue? Solutions? Am I the only one?
Using Cyanmod - 4.2.12.2
Haykuro DangerSPL (Rogers)
One more Note - Noticed a comment here in the Q&A about Metamorph causing "market issues", but they don't actually describe what the issue is. I did recently install it, changed my power control widget, that was it.
Thanks for your help!
Try this;
Connect to wifi,
Cancel all downloads,
Restart all downloads over wifi.

Thanks lbcoder, had a feeling it would be you replying to my inquiry. Anyways, I had also tried that method, still nothing. Actually found the link below, people having this issue. To add to your steps they suggest to login to Google Talk. Well, that seems to be an issue as well, i can't login.

The only unusual thing in my logcat seems to be calling for low memory: No more background processes. This is a little odd, never had mem. issue's before, looking at my phone's memory usage in terminal, should be ok.
I had this issue due to my wireless router. Disconnected from the wifi and it all started working. The strange thing was browsing was working and google talk but it just would not download from the market.
Issue Update - in case others are having this issue - Back in Business
Well, I figured I ran out of options, that is options that didn't require a complete format and wipe of the phone.
I had to follow all the original steps, for installing the newest cyanogen ROM, using the HTC Dev Phone. So, after installing the HTC_DevPhonezip file from their website, applied it, applied Cyan's latest ROM, reboot...Bammm, the market is back, and downloading. Actually it ended up installing all my updates automatically. Guess it was registered through my google account, because I hadn't even installed the apps back to my ext partition yet, after installing new ROMs

Wanted to say thanks for the pointer to starting Google Talk to get my market downloads to work...as soon as I logged into Talk, my downloads started. I had re-flashed, re-formatted and basically tried everything until this simple suggestion fixed the problem. Kind of strange...but thank you!

Wow! Thanks for posting this, man. I was racking my brain... as this was the 2nd time I ran into this issue on my phone! Didn't want to wipe/reload once again.
Anyhow, I was using 'Autostarts' to pare down some of the crap that auto-starts with a standard Android build. Since I don't use GoogleTalk, I naturally killed that sucker. I guess I should've thought that it'd be tied to the Marketplace, right? Google Talk + Marketplace = logical That said, re-enabling Google Talk and restarting resolved my issue.
Thanks again!

I am not sure how many others out there may have experienced the issues I am about to describe, but it is extremely annoying. So I am asking all devs out there to please hear out this issue. I have searched all over for a solution with no result.
ISSUE:
Every action I perform in the Market takes nearly about 1 minute. So for instance, just opening Market takes about 1 minute to load the default Market home screen. So then I see an app I am curious of and click on it. It then takes another minute before the content about the app is fully displayed. Then lets say I want to install the app and click install. If permissions are required, it then takes another minute before that dialog fully displays with the OK/Cancel buttons. Then when the install completes, I can see in the notification bar that the application installed successfully, but the status of the app in the Market remains in the Installing state until I reboot my phone.
Other issues I have noticed is that going to GAMES --> ALL GAMES or APPS --> ALL APPS, I do not see the top paid apps or top paid games.
I have seen this behavior for all apps purchased and free.
Here are other factors. I have experienced this issue on both stock and custom ROMS. I am a big fan of Cyanogen and have tried the various methods on his wiki with no success. I have experienced this issue on different phones as well (i.e. MyTouch & Nexus One). I called Nexus One support and ran through all of their usual troubleshooting methods with no success. They eventually gave up and told me it was a T-Mobile problem.
Here's the other odd issue is that if I wipe my phone and log in with my wife's account, I don't have this problem. Google suggested I setup a new account, but that is not happening. I have had my gmail account since the beginning of time when they first offered trials for gmail. I also have purchased around 70 apps through the market.
Here is a logcat output I captured while attempting to download an app:
http://pastebin.com/BXWkS8DJ
Any help would be greatly appreciated because I am now starting to lose interest in the Market because of this issue.
Thanks!
wrong section. q&a is where you wanna be
I am having the same issues and it sucks... sorry I cant help.. just wanted to let you know your not alone and it should be looked into
I understand where your going with that. I have posted the same in the newbie section with 0 responses. This section is where the magic happens. So I was hoping one of the devs out here might give a helping hand to figure out this issue. I have posted in the Market forums with 0 replys. I have contacted Google support directly with no luck other than directing me to T-Mobile blaming their service as the issue, even though I get the same problem over wireless.

Hey I appreciate the support man and I am glad to know that I am not the only one with this annoying issue. I have been a loyal customer to allot of these great devs out there and have purchased over 70 apps on my phone and then repaid for lots of those on my wifes phone just because I truly believe in supporting great talent. But ever since I have been having this issue (since moving from my G1 to the MyTouch and still with the Nexus), I haven't even had the interest to browse the market for new apps.
Posted this on another forum and everybody started crying about it being in the wrong section rather than helping...rude.
What's with the running service, ' alarm service' for the market? Its always running and I want it gone.
Seems to have popped with the new market...
Thank you thank you

I think this might be what you are lookig for:http://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/AlarmManager.html
SPECULATION on my part but from what I read looks like that is what it is.
I've checked my services periodically to see if this would ever popup for me, but it never did. :/
I'd say try uninstalling the updated market and wiping the cache/data for it via the applications menu under settings - same menu you went to to take that snap shot.
Well what's the disadvantage? Do you actually notice slowdown, battery draining, etc due to it? If not, why bother about it?

Hi, got a strage problem with my Nexus 6, runnig with 7.1.1.
Altough the camera app itself works fine, any other app interupts with an error massage when the app tries to use the camera (eg WhatsApp or CamCard). Don´t know the message in english, translated form german, the message should be "can´t connect to the camera". Ok, I´ve done a factory reset, I booted into the recovery mode, wiped the cache and did a reset with no success. Trying to make a photo eg. with WhatsApp doesn´t work .
I´ve read, that should be a hardware problem. I can´t imagine that.... As I remeber, the first time I recognized the problem was after I installed an app for the vector smartwatch. This app sould be a remote to initiate a pictute shot from the vector watch (The app didn´t work, I deleted it). After that, I tried to make a picture with WhatsApp and the camera failed the first time. An accident? And the camera still works fine with the camera app.
However, I don´t know any further doing. Do you?
Thanks for any support .....

I would say YES. After the factory reset, the only app I installed was CamCard with all permissions. Starting the camera out of this app causes the message "couldn´t start the camera".
But I think, you´re right, my fault must be something like "basic" or "fundamental". I´ll try a second time.....

Instead of playing the guessing game why not pull a logcat and know for sure what is causing it. If you tried on a completely new setup then I would say the issue is with the app.

If you are messing with your device and dont know what a logcat is then STOP. This is basic troubleshooting 101 and many want even look twice or offer any help without one.
Also with the recent update it could be that google changed something with the camera and the apps need to update it. I cant really test either of those as I have no use for camcard and I wouldnt be caught dead with wahtsapp installed on my device.
"logcat ... This is basic troubleshooting 101"
I have to disagree. I've been playing with Android for several years and I have little idea (not "no idea", since I read a description recently) what a logcat is or how to get one, but most people's queries here are answered without logcats. To tell someone to STOP (unnecessary caps) is unhelpful, and I say that with respect, given your very large (and very impressive) number of thanks votes.

Trust me man. It really is. They are so important that many devs refuse to even look at a question without it. The questions that popup normally go through about 6 pages of try this or try that when a logcat will tell you exactly what is wrong.
I only say stop like that because things like this carry very real risks. You could easily brick your device and if you dont know how to do the basics then there is nothing anyone can or will do to help. It is also the main reason devs hate toolkits that do nothing but make matters worse.

Sorry, in my perception, the "sound of your speech" is unreasonable too... Sure, I don´t know every detail, but I´m profesionally about IT for 25 years... and this with a impressive success. So if you advise me to stop, it feels a little disrespectful. But, let´s stop... as soon as possible I will pull a catlog and I´m grateful for this attempt.
