Why are the pictures taken in Froyo only 4:3, even in 360Camera app? Is there no fix for this?
I have searched, but nothing shows up about this issue, and I am sure I am not the only one. Is there anything like the Desire camera app for Froyo?

Is there any way to run the Albums app from the Hero ROM under CM 4.0.4?
Maybe push some framework files in?
The stock Gallery thing SUCKS. (How could they not have implemented swiping between photos?)
I think 404 already has the hero camera and gallery in it

Cyanogen 4.04 based on cupcake has the HTC Camera and gallery found on the HTC Magic. HTC Made a new Camera + Gallery for Hero, the Hero cam + gallery has not been ported.
The gallery for hero is a photo of some hills and no sdcard/floppy disk thing.
So to answer the OP: No.

Try this out. I use the trial version and it looks great. If I really used my photos much, I would buy the full version, but I don't really go through my pictures much.

can someone get the .apk file for the default froyo app? I read somewhere that they changed it from eclair, and that its much better. Does anyone know how it compares to samsung's gallery app?
Samsung's Gallery app is the default Froyo photo app. Only difference is that on Froyo it runs faster and you can pinch to zoom on folders.
I'm running cyanogenmod 6.1.0 RC1 and prior to that the nightly and stable version. I've noticed that when I view pictures using the stock gallery app that any photo I take is zoomed in. There is no way for me zoom out so every view pic is cropped. This only happens with photos taken while running the cyanogenmod roms. Is there a camera or gallery setting I can adjust to fix this?
It isn't going to help much but cyanogen himself said he was aware of the issue and I believe it has been fixed. But the pictures you have on the card may need to be dumped off of the card and the data needs to be reset in the gallery app itself. So the phone can rescan the folders for photos.
That is how I fixed mine.
thanks. ill try that
Hi,
as you can read in the headline I have a problem with the main camera app on my unrooted Sgs (Froyo 2.2 through Kies). Every time I take a picture with one of the special camera features (panorama, coupling shot, etc) it starts the process and everything goes.fine until it tries to show the results but it just shows the last taken picture of the standard setting.
However when I restart my phone all the pictures I did are there, even in the right order.
I think either the camera app are the gallery app are broken or even something else.
I tried to replace both apps with SGS-tools from the market but nothing happens (I think I need root for that?).
Other file browsers aren't showing the pictures too.
Anyone else having the problem?
Is it possible to temporary root my phone with z4root to replace the apps and unroot again or wouldn't you recommend that?
Thank you a lot.

Edit: it seems I can access the pictures through the file browser but it takes a looooong lag before finally showing them in the gallery app and it only shows them in poor quality (panorama pictures are pixelated like hell ) until I restart.
Its so weird since I don't have any problems when shooting in standard mode.

The froyo captivate camera allowed for panoramic pictures. I have included a link to a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeBrIcVWDrs that shows this being done on the sgs but it was the exact same for the captivate.
Recently I installed CM7, which is great...love it..etc, but I cannot find out how to use the panorama mode in this ROM. I have looked through the Q/A threads and CM7 FAQ's but have not found an answer to where this is or if it is still there.
Just FYI I am familiar with the current settings that it allows you to modify. I am not talking about any of those.
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
That is because the 2.2 camera is a samsung app and the CM7 is aosp android app. if you want panorama there are apps in the market that allows it i do believe
some people were using vignette. Never used it myself, but it probably has more options than the CM7 stock camera.
Thank you!!!!!!
