Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good upload picture app. I would like to upload a bunch of my pics to a website for viewing at home and on my G1. I would also like it to have a automatic backup feature. Facebook uploading and etc are not important.
One of the best, I think

PicSay Pro is excellent, it has a export feature and you can send photos anywhere. PhotoBeam is good to, but options are limited. Here are some screenshots of PicSay Pro to see if this is what your're looking for, but if your looking to upload to a URL, then PhotoBeam Pro is your monster.

Hi,
I am looking for the Desire HD a similar program as Zoomer for the HD2(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585284 )
Zooomer enables "pinch to zoom" in the programs you want.
Any suggestion?

Yes , I don't see how I can pinch to zoom in many programs (like for example
in messages ) except when viewing pictures.

What app are you using to view pictures? The built in gallery app supports pinch-to-zoom just fine...
The OP needs an application that does pinch-to-zoom in every application. Like Messaging, etc. Not just the gallery/browser..
I looked a bit around, I really couldn't find anything similar for android.
would be very useful an application similar to pinch to zoom but there is no in the market.
it is so difficult to create;
I need too, but i cannot to find, why??? it's so difficult to create?

My wife has some pictures she wants to use for backgrounds on her phone. The only problem is that when she goes to set the pictures she cant selects the entire picture so instead of having a background of the family its now of the kids and our heads cut off. Is there an app that will re size pictures to the appropriate size for wallpapers on our phones?
Theres about a million apps on the computer that will do that. I think there's even a photoshop app in the market.
Sent from my Captivate.
Photoshop express Not sure about resize but doesnt hurt to install it and try. I havent used it in months so i just dont remember.
Look for an app called 'Reduce Photo Size' on the marketplace. This is also handy for reducing the size of a photo before you MMS it to someone (cuts down the filesize nicely.)

Awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

PicSay works pretty good
MS PAINT

I could probably write a shell script you can run from SGS tools to do that. There is not much of a point though when it only takes 5 sec without it.
Well I was fed up of not having any decent livewallpapers on my hero and stumbled across a livewallpaper called video live wallpaper.
This livewallpaper lets you play a video loop as a wallpaper, having just installed dreamscenes on my laptop, I put two and two together and thought why not.
After a few hours of trying various conversion formats I have found the settings to run dreamscape mpg's (dreamscapes must be in video format not dream.) as a livewallpaper on your hero, this looks really good and makes the hero look like its running really complex live wallpapers!
Anyway it works really well and is very stable and looks really good, so thought I would share it! If you check out the short video you can see a few running!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp3pNwQetds
If you want to do this you will need:-
video live wallpaper app (free from market)
Any video converter (free on download.com)
dreamscences in a movie format (google them) or www.dreamscenes.org
You then simply need to convert the dreamscene and run it with the live wallpaper app.
Ive found that the optimum settings for conversion that give the best look/performance balance are:-
Profile= customisied AVI movie
Codec= XVID
Frame size = 352x240
Bitrate = 12000
Frame rate = 15
You can tweak these values but be warned I found that if you go too high your poor old hero will start locking up, at these values I get no performance issues and battery consumption is on par with other live wallpapers, anyway enjoy
Oh and just to be extra nice here are the three from the video, ready converted for you to try if you can't be bothered to convert your own
View attachment Bokeh_xvid.zip
View attachment reactor_1680_xvid.zip
View attachment silky-dance_xvid.zip
(Oh yeah btw you need a custom rom to run live wallpaper on your hero, search development if you dont know how!!)
And just so you know, on my phone ADW launcher didnt seem to like this wallpaper so I swapped to launcher pro and it was fine!
If anyone finds any other cool dreamscenes, please feel free to add them to this thread to give people a selection to use.
EDIT...here's a few more I've converted

this is fantastic. will be trying this tomorrow.
nice ! I will try it soon !
Looks great, thanks!
...and BTW: I love the swing effect when changing home screens, how did you achieve this? What ROM are you using? Is it possible with CM6?

ROM is froyo 2.2.1 special edition final with fly kernel 12a overclocked to 710mhz
Transition effects are in the latest launcherpro release
In theory any ROM should work as long as it has the live wallpaper hack included, not sure how they will perform, maybe some will run better than others, if anybody feels like posting performance results on other ROMs that would be useful
Just found a site with lots of free dreamscenes to play with

No problem my friend, theres also some cool transitions on ADW launcher now as well if you like that sort of thing
And a little update for anyone trying the dreamscene videos, there seems to be so sort of problem with the video live wallpaper app, after a few days use it starts to really affect performance on my phone, am thinking some sort of memory leak (Im no dev so not sure really) stopping app then rebooting sorts out the problem.
Anyway I've emailed dev about it but if anyones clued up and knows what there looking at, then any input would be good
Hey!
I'm the dev of the VLW. I downloaded one of the videos of the original post and I'll be testing it on my device to see it anything weird starts occuring after a while.
Though I have the Desire HD so I might not have any problems. We'll see.

Thanks for having a look at this for us, would be nice to use this as an every day live wallpaper......and yeah I reckon the desire hd will cope slightly better than our little old heros hehe
Very nice work!
When I get home from work I might try this on my Desire HD too
Very nice!!!!!
I was wondering if there was a way to use your camera as a live wallpaper so it would just show what your camera sees in the background of your phone so it would look like your phone is transparent
One already exists. I haven't used it so I don't know how good it is but its gotten good reviews. Here is the link.

Thanks ill try it out
I've tried them all. The closest to a decent experience on the tablet is FlickFolio. But it only works well as a photo viewer and not an actual app to check comments/activities etc. My favourite iOS Flickr app is FlickStackr (and Photopular Pro when I want to feel good about myself ;P).
So, I'm hoping someone will develop a nice Flickr Honeycomb app. I'm sure it will sell well on the Market as well since like I said, there isn't any :/
*hint Chris hint*
yeah I would buy one too. I would like to not have to use the browser.
I have yet to find an Android Flickr browser that's as good as the one I used under iOS I found one that looked promising, but it wasn't tablet-optimized.

If you're only looking for a Flickr image browser, then FlickFolio is decent. But it doesn't do anything else very well. Need FlickStackr for Android
What kind of features would you guys be looking for in a flickr tablet app?

My perfect Flickr app is FlickStackr for the iOS so perhaps you can take a look to see how it works.
But the most important features should be:
- Easy access to your own Photostream, Recent from Contacts, Explored
- QUICKLY view and edit comments/views/geotag/exif etc.
- Share photo on other Social Networking sites.
- Upload Photos.
Hope you or someone will be able to create a decent Flickr app for Android. Flickstackr for iPad is beautiful
Ok took a look at Flickstackr. It does look pretty good. I'll try and use that as my model. I'm pretty slow at developing so don't expect something over night.
Thanks

Awesome! I HOPE you won't rush it so we'll get a complete and stable package. can't wait to see how it turns out. Thanks!
I too would love a well-made Flickr app.

Also, if you have the time, maybe a stats mode for the narcassistic ;P Shows total view/visit per day/week etc. Only works with Pro accounts though.
As an anonymous user (i.e. not having a Flickr account), I like the ability of entering a keyword, having a search return a screen filled with thumbnails results (which would fill the whole tablet screen, with adjustable thumbnail sizes perhaps). Swipe to go to the next result page. Click on a photo to have it go fullsize. Photo could be saved if I wanted to keep it.
I'll have to charge my iPod to check what Flickr application I was using (before my Nexus One and my Xoom drove my iPod to the bottom of my desk drawer).
Still waiting patiently

There is an open source Flickr Viewer HD in the Market. Have you tried?
Some others: Flickr for Tablets, and FlickFolio also support Honeycomb.

Flickr Viewer HD is pretty good! Almost perfect for me. But Recent Activity doesn't work. And no full-screen mode.
Flickr for Tablet is also nice but too basic.
Just put a new version out. Anyone got an apk for this?

See my post here for the stock apk. I've also included an apk that I've modified to allow it to work in landscape mode (much more useful on a tablet...).
