I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem as myself. I am running rodriguezstyle 2.2 r16, and I was able to download flash 10.1 immediately after the ROM install, but when I try to update, it either gives me a "Installation failed" notification, or resets the phone, not from the boot image with the static nexus one logo, but from the actual boot animation, and it reboots very quickly, but doesn't show a successful update. I have flash moved to the SD card, and have set all apps to install to the SD card. Any ideas?
same thing with me...its only the adobe flash that wont install, everything else works just fine
I guess the good news is (at least for me) that the install attempt doesn't uninstall the previous version. Flash sites still work as the did before.

I recently decided that I wanted to do a fresh install of CM7 using the latest nightly. I wiped everything, including boot (which I think is the problem). I made a bootable CWR SD card and installed the latest nightly and gapps. Everything booted up fine and ran great, until I tried to use ROM Manager. Every time I try to boot into recovery, the Nook hangs at the "ReadForever" screen. It was hanging at the new Cyanogen boot logo, but in an attempt to correct the issue, I flashed the stock 1.2 uboot. I have also noticed that several apps are now showing up at phone size when they were fine before running the same setup. I am running n87, 5/23/11 OC, and the stock 1.2 uboot. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
You can try to disable the "compatibility mode" in order to try and get the apps to use the full screen. Regarding the Clockwork recovery issue, I have no idea - sorry!
Hi all,
I have run into one issue on my nook. I have had it for a while and followed all the directions for root and it was running perfect. One day it rebooted and would nver start back up. It gets stuck in the Nook Color Devs Boot Loop where it says Nook, then color in a rainbow scheme. I attempted to reload the factory image, ran the first manual nooter and logged into gmail, etc. Then I ran the second nooter and now I am stuck in a boot loop again. Is there anyway to solve this?
A factory reset appears to help but as soon as I root, the same thing happens. I have attempted to search but couldn't find anything else.
I also found out that if I clear dalvik and cache then it won't go immediately to the boot loop. It attempts to load but i am not sure what to do.
Thanks all.
You may want to specify which version of Stock you're reloading. I don't know for sure, but there may be some different procedures if you're on 1.3... But I don't know, just a tip for people to give you more specific help.
Thank you. This has happened to me on both the1.2 and 1.3 stock rom. It actually just shut off one day and then started doing this.
I'm not very familiar with the stock rom. I got rid of it within like 10 minutes of getting my nook, turning it into a tablet was my whole reason for buying one.
I didn't think there was more than one root script that you had to run though. At least not for 1.2, I dunno about 1.3 though.
Perhaps something there's messing it up?
Personally, I would suggest following one of the threads about restoring to stock... step by step and see if that helps.

Basically... just make a bootable cwm card. Make a backup of what you have atm. Copy the zip you download from that thread to your card. Boot your cwm card and goto mounts and storage, and format: /system, /data, /cache, and I would do /boot just in case. Normally, you shouldn't format boot... but just in case something there is causing you a problem it might be best. I know the stock rom restores the boot files anyway. Then just go to (sorry if the wording here isn't right, I don't have my nook in front of me) install zip from card, then select zip, and choose the 1.2 zip you put on the card. It should take like 5-10 mins to flash... remove the bootable sdcard, and choose reboot now. This should get you back to 100% stock 1.2, then you can retry rooting it... I think 1.2 needs the manual nooter script. You shouldn't have to run anything more than once to root it though, unless you upgrade after that to 1.3.
I had the same problem after getting the 1.3 update and re-rooting. The problem was adobe flash 10.3. I ran flashplayer_fix.zip from GMPOWER's post on this page (sorry don't know how to link the post) and it fixed the problem.

Trying to install the Cynogen ICS ROM, and when installing the .zip, it loads the Samsung flash screen with Cynogen, then get the green guy and loads of text for about half a second, then it just reboots. Over and over for about 10 mins. WHat went wrong? What should I do?
It happend the same to me.
I just removed the battery and put it back, entered in CWM and reinstalled the ROM.
Good luck!
I somehow got into a recovery mode, but with the assumption it would all go wrong again, tried to install the .zip Darky rom instead, went through the process and said it worked but then it just went back to the Cynogen loop problem!? I just tried a Restore instead, but I haven't rebooted yet, should I wipe everything again, and try the ICM .zip again?
Yep, just go with the whipe. I hope you did a backup.
OK turns out the Restore failed, so now trying to reinstall ICS .zip again. fingers crossed!
yep backed it up, not that its seems to have helped.
Well now it's stuck in the Galaxy S bootscreen...
that really sucks....did you deactivated the lagfix before running the rom?
If the problem persists you have to run a basic ROM using ODIN.
Yes deactivated the lagfixI can't get into recovery or anything now, except download mode.
Download mode is all you need to run a ROM with Odin.
I recommend Amestris, it is a good ROM, good battery life but the thread in not complete, there are some files missing...for now.
I've put some older ROM on I had, then tried to install ICS again but now when I use Clockwork, and select the file it goes to recovery but I can't select any zip files, just reboot back to this awful old ROM!
I had same issue when I installed ics, what I did that worked was pull battery and go back into cwm, reflashed ics zip and it fully installed that time. Had same experience when flashing cm7 before.
Not getting anywhere with this. I get an option to install zip from sdcard which is where the update is (an where the darky update also is which worked), but there is an option to update from internal SD, which is not where the file is. Is it in the wrong place?
I think you would be best to use Odin 1.3 to flash DarkyROM Ficeto JVT base rom.
are you sure those files are still on your sd card?
The reason you need to pull the battery and reflash the ICS rom a few times is because Samsung ROM (most) have a different partition layout to CM7 based roms (which the ICS port is one).

Hi all, my name is Daniel.
I am using a motorola Milestone A853 for the past one year and never faced any issue while rooting or installing custom roms right upto cm10.
from last two months the milestone has not been working properly. It so happened i had installed CM 9.0.1d and everything worked fine. but once the battery died the phone did not boot up and was stuck on moto boot logo and kept restarting from there. I tried to go into open recovery (fufu minimod) using the X+power key and it goes into recovery but after loading recovery it did not display any options and the other text was red in color and it showed the error failed to load menu.init. I replaced the update.zip file along with the open recovery folder, but still nothing worked. I then tried another open recovery but still open recovery never loaded. Then i SBF'ed the device and went back to stock and was able to use my phone again. But then when i try to root the device again i am not able to root using vulnerable SBF as it does not install though RSDLite shows pass. Then i used superoneclick to root and that did the trick. But still open recovery never installed or load. Luckily androidiani recovery which displayed an error cannot mount but still created the menu and i was able to install custom OS but only cm 7.2.4e and not cm9 nor cm10. I cannot reboot the phone as the phone never starts up. only after clearing dalvik and wiping cache phone boots up. After a certain time now i still cannot install cm7.2.4e as it does not load and gets stuck on custom bootscreen, so i installed MIUI rom which works and starts up but i still can never reboot my phone.
Errors Seen E: cant mount /cache/recovery/command
Kindly help as the phone is just barely working.
Your phone has some serious issues...
How stable it is with stock rom? Maybe You should flash a stock 2.2 and see if you have any issues.
If not, then flash vulnerable recovery and so on, step-by-step.
Maybe it will be easier to locate the source of the problem this way.
Tried Everything

Thank you for your reply. I have tried flashing stock 2.2 and still I cannot reboot the phone without wiping cache and using the reset factory option in stock recovery. Using superoneclick I can root it and install androidiani recovery but I cannot use cm10 or cm 9. after installing cm9 the phone just restarts after cm9 boot screen and after installing cm10 the phone shows the stock android boot screen. cm 7.2.4e installs as well as miui but if battery dies or if I have to restart the phone if it gets sluggish and slow then I cannot...everytime for the phone to boot I have to wipe dalvik and cache for custom roms and for stock roms I have to wipe cache and factory reset.
SO basically I am stuck...have tried changing the sd card, repartitioning the sd card, but nothing worked
Open recovery cannot be used only andoidiani works after popping up some errors.
Kindly help.
Just bought the phone and Dev Unlocked it and Rooted it, after abit of failure I managed to root it. Phone worked fine I tried to install a mod and that's when I thought If there's any errors I can just delete everything and install but that wasn't the case it would stay frozen, I tried aroma manager it wasn't showing much files so I thought I would try and install the stock rom again that didn't work I then tried another rom and just been booting to CWM the sd won't mount so I been sideloading these files. :crying:
Before flashing the stock ROM you need to relock the phone first.
I just managed to get the phone working again
But a problem I have is that certain apps will fail to install on my phone like root explorer I would get a message saying Couldn't install on USB or SD card. Is this due to a partition or some other type of error? I had more or less the same problem on my S2 when I went back to stock. I later installed CM10 and the problem didn't occur, would I need to install another rom or is there a slightly easier fix for this?
