Protective Case - HD2 Accessories

Hello all
how many of you, use a protective case? could i use the phone without it?
I´ve used to use a iphone without any problems that way, and i want to know if i could use the HD2 the same way
thanks a lot

I would say HD2 is as solid in construction as iPhone, so it should keep without protection. I have used my HD2 for around 6 months now without protection and so far no scratches. On the other hand I am cautious about it and haven't dripped yet (hope this will be the case in future )

Do you have a Case for your Kaiser?

I really love my phone and would be devistated if I broke it so I have been thinking of investing in one. But Im worried that it will be so much heavier and bulkier. Do you guys use cases or just a protective screen which I am using.
I use a screen protector, which is a must. I got a leather belt case with the phone, which is a TyTn2, so I use that most of the time, mostly because if I pocket it my pants will most probably fall off . Anyway I dont really like using cases and am very protective of my phone, its 2 and a half months old now and touch wood does'nt have ay major scratches oterh tahn a few tiny ones on the rear panel camera glass that tends to scratch easily, I;ve cut another screen protector and used it as a protector for the glass now to limit the damage.

Already read that I just wanted to have a poll to see what most folks use.
Just the protective screen that came with it. That's all I use. Occasionally I will put it in that case that came in the box, but otherwise I just keep it in my pocket, and clean it with a Microfibre cloth at night.
I always use cases for expensive phones/PDA's the difference is I dont have any major OR minor scratches on my TYTN II its completely free of any scratches and i plan on keeping it that way. When it comes time to upgrade I will have a prestine TYTN II to sell and get the most possible for it.
pocket is my case
i dont use a case.. reason being i have at&t and a 1yr warranty.. if i so much as nick my phone with my keys i call and cry til they send me a new one.. and i always ALWAYS get a full kit each time so that i get a new phone + 2 new stylus! and new battery! never had a issue yet.. i have 8 stylus for this phone and 4 batterys!
I have a metal case. It doesn't make the device a lot bigger, maybe about 0,5cm or so... It's really well protected in there. They only thing i don't like about the case is that it blocks the GPS signal big time. With the case on it finds like 1 or 2 satellites. Without the case, about 6 of 7.

Me too.
I used the screen protector when I had my Charmer/ MDA Compact II, until it became too tatty.
I was going to replace it, never got around to it but never got a scratch.
When I got my Vario III, I didn't even bother with the screen protector.
No problems as yet, I haven't chucked it onto concrete like I did with its predecessor every other month, maybe that's something to do with it.
I've got a Tilt which doesn't come with a case, or headphones, or screen protector...
I'm using the case from my Qtek S100 which I'd been using for 2.5 years until the Tilt replaced it.
I just find cases bulky and impractical - unfortunately. But a case just doesn't fit my image, as I'm not a businessman. And I do believe image is important
I've just got the plastic/leatherette thing that came with the phone. I don't usually bother with cases any more. I used to, then stopped bothering shelling out the bucks for one as I never really damaged the phone more than a couple of scratches. I use this one now cos it came with the phone, otherwise it would be in my pocket.
I carry mine in my pocket without a case!
I bought one of each case from Pdair.com
Then finally made my choice : the black Alu is my prefered by far.
Krussel leather. Definitely makes it larger to carry, but worth it for the protection and is of high quality. Wear cargo shorts or use the belt clip (which admittedly feels kind of dorky). Krussel also has a ton of accessories, some of which I use - car holder, etc.
I use a leather one. Its actually made for a blackberry, but i use it because i already had it, it fit except the magnet clip didnt quite make it all the way down, and i couldn't find any others that i liked.
Seidio is the best case around. The clip is also very good too.
I have plenty of cases and use none of them.
I can't really find one that I like.
I don't want to put my phone in a case that I operate the phone in. Those invariably don't fit into my car holder and make the thing too bulky to fit into my pocket.
Of the belt cases I have looked at, only the Vaja offers what I want - a low-profile belt loop instead of a clip, but I think the design of their "Classic Horizontal" case - which the Tilt fits - is less than attractive.
BoxWave has a case for the Jesus Phone that I really covet. It has black, soft leather, a magnetic clasp and belt loops, not some giant clip which would make the rather girthy Kaiser protrude further from my belt than anything I am comfortable with in public. But, they don't make it for the Kaiser, yet.
Here's that link...it's the horizontal one...http://www.boxwave.com/products/dlpouch/apple-iphone-designio-leather-pouch_2661.htm
Thanks for all the feedback, does everyone here have insurance on your phones?

Barely There Case

I just wanted to let you all know of my experience with this case.
I first of all loved the slim and almost unnoticeable protection the Barely there case offered but after 2 removals it has damaged the rubberised coating on the corners of the HD2.
Not only this, with the Barely There case you'll find it hard to get a suitable desktop stand to use with it.
Good idea but some serious shortfalls.
I'm now going to write them an email and vent some frustrations out on them
You have been warned

Does the Otterbox plastic backing really break off!?

Hi guys I have been looking a case for my HTC HD2 for awhile and on my other thread you guys suggested I get the Otterbox case for it! Which looks fantastic, but as I was researching about it I looked some reviews and a lot of people said that it was a bad case because the back plastic part brakes off when they try to take the case off.... I was just wanted to know if any of you with that case had that problem???
Thanks and please leave comments

in my experience i found that the otterbox COMMUTER case was a bad design because over time as you take off the plastic backing that goes over the silicone case, cracks begin to appear, and the cracks eventually cause the plastic backing to shatter upon removal.
the otterbox DEFENDER case on the other hand is very solidly built and provides GREAT protection, i wish i had just gotten the defender case to begin with as it offers much greater protection and i got for 30bucks off of amazon compared to the 55 from the otterbox website
i've been using defender for 7 months. once, a very, very, very tiny fragment broke off from the case, i don't know form which part.
over all, i've abused my phone a lot and the case really can stand it. imo, it's really worth it. every time i read "my screen broke", i always wonder: why this poor guy never use defender in the first place?

I've been using the defender for months and it's still in excellent condition. Clip hasn't broken and feels VERY solid. I can't imagine how someone would break that. I even use it as a stand when I'm on flights.
As for the plastic, I regularly take the case off completely when I swap batteries after long video viewings or after using the HD2 as an MP3 player when I run. No plastic has broken off from there either.
I'd have to wonder what someone was doing with it in order to break such a durable case.
+1 ^^ apallohadas
ive been using defender series for over 6months and taking it of sometimes many times a day, not a scratch on it even though it has saved my hd2 twice.
i take it of by turning up and bottom of shield in different directions and it comes of very easily.
screen cover has some scratches but nothing else.
getting new one if something too horrible happens to this one best accessory for hd2 definitely.
edit: actually 8months

Same for me, I have COMMUTER case from five month ago and the hard plastic begun to cracked, now I lost the lower part of the hard case.
Seems that otterbox is not a wise choice if it breaks this easily then. How about Pdair/Monaco Aluminium Case - anyone has experience with it?

Lol, did you read the 5 posts right before your's?
Well then I am not sure if I should get the Defender Case or just a cheap plastic backing with a screen protector with it
what do you guys think?
I think that the OtterBox does NOT break easily. The Commuter had issues that OtterBox addressed, including sending some replacement parts (from what I've read).
If you want to trust one of the best cellphones out there, with a 50 cent piece of cheap silicone gel, then go for it. I'll stick with something way more durable since this is probably the best phone I've owned thus far.
I had been so disgusted that I was thinking of starting my own thread till I came across this one.
The otterbox commuter looks great as a case but that's where it ends. Outside of looks, the case is utter junk. If you never take it off or drop your phone then you're fine but removal and/or drops will result in cracks and ultimately due to design, useless bits of broken plastic.
I had mine for a week before it started cracking and two weeks later, it was in bits. I'd also like to add that it bulls up the phone more than is necessary in my opinion.
I've got the invisible shield on and am looking for a rubber case to go over that. My advice is to avoid hard plastic for cases and go with with metal or rubber/silicon.

Argh! the replies are somewhat confusing with people having broken parts in the case while some are praising it. I'm really tempted to get one but I'm afraid to be disappointed if the case starts to break aftewards. Still I'm undecided between the defender case or the pdair aluminium case.
The defender appears to be quite sturdy but bulky. I'm not familiar with the pdair one.
There are two different sizes of cases for the HD2. I have the T-Mobile US versions of the phone and the Commuter case. I have had both since they each came out. My commuter case has no cracks. I have removed it several times and see no evidence of cracks. However, I am very careful and try not to flex it too much when removing it. I also carry it in a belt holster originally meant for a G1 and not in my pocket. This extra protection may make a difference.
People have had issues with the otterbox commuter case, but I've never heard of anyone having a problem with the otterbox defender case. I've had the defender case for a couple months and I think it's the best case I've ever owned for a phone. It does add some bulk, but I will protect it well and has a nice holder with a beltclip that doubles as a stand. The case can clip in to it face forward of backward, and it holds it well and makes it easily accessible when you need it. Probably not the best case if you want to keep the phone in your pocket, but it's great with the beltclip.

[EURO] Looking for good Case

Hey everybody,
I know this question has been rapidly asked but I want to ask your opinion about it.
I don't really care if it’s hard case or soft case. Only that it protects my phone. I mostly carry my phone in my pocket of my pants. I would like to protect my phone from dirt because I have never dropped it in its 1 and a half years. Also a good screen protector would be good.
I was thinking about the Ottobox Defender or Commuter case but they are quite big.
Any suggestions would be great
I allow myself to use this thread to not create a new one.
Basically the same question (Euro as well) but I'm looking for a case with a flipping front to access the phone more easily than with the stock case. I tend to miss call taking the phone out of it.
Also : it would need a hole for the headphone jack-in...
I would recommend you a soft silicon case cause it will never broken , protect from soft drops such - table drop - hand drop , and also provides frond protection as it "hugs" the cellphone with a small amount of euro ofc...we are talking about 10 euro max..!!
Now i dont know what your demands are ofc.... and what use you will be doing with your phone...!
i have for my hd2 only a simple silicon hard case, and on the display a screen protect film, and both are working very good.
ps. sorry for my bad english
As requested here is a brilliant flip case which allows access to the Micro USB port and the headphone slot. It is a brilliant snug fit, and is easily opened when receiving a call.
Here it is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/HTC-HD2-Lea...RY/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1312343544&sr=8-15
BTW, the thread is white, not yellow!

I can confirm that this is an excellent case! I am using it over a year, and i had never any problem.
But keep in mind that dispite that this is a great case and will always protect your phone, it makes the phone much "bigger" than it is!!

what is the "best" case? And awesome accesoires?

So I've ordered a Gnote yesterday and have decided not to put a screenprotector on it.
So I have decided to stick with a case instead!
I am looking for a case that is very slim and still offers protection for the screen (mostly from scratches as a slim case won't break a fall).
I have already searched the whats your case thread but didn't really find anything to suit my needs. The case that is currently in my mind is the melkco limited case or the original samsung folio case.
The only thing that keeps me from buying the Melkco one is that it flips open on the downside. Which would drasticly increase the phone lenght.
And I am also looking for some awesome accesoires. Just things to impress.
Fun cases or a differen case decal. Which one is your favorite?
Thanks in advance!
There are many cases for different needs.
For me the best one is Zenus Case Prestige Carbon. http://www.zenuscase.net/product-29984.html
I experimented with lot's of different cases when I've got SGS2 and I tried almost 10 of them. I've got several different types of cases along with carbon fiber ones, metal ones, combines or hard plastic cases with stands etc. I end up with one I didn't expect at all!
SGS2 same my current Galaxy Note is "thin", almost "slippery" and Note also "rotates" on it's back if you try to use it on smooth surface like table. I wanted something that will improve handling, protect the back and also protect the front WITHOUT using the screen protector (because they always ruing the image).
I end up surprisingly with gell S-Cove (that one with strange curvature back with two types of see-through plastic). Obviously it protect the back but it also helps fix the Note on the table, but it also has tough sides, so if you operate it in your hand, it's gets more sure grip. And because if it's nature it has 1mm edge over the display which doesn't hinder at all but if you put your phone display down on the table, it sits on the gell case edge and not on the display itself.
I used to put my phone display down, because I'm using LightFlow and it uses camera flash as a notification diod
And S-Case also was a winner for me, because it's yet slimmest from them all and I still can put the Note IN THE CASE to the belt pouch, which with most of the other cases is impossible because the're too big.
I hope I save you some cash, because with that knowledge from SGS2 I ordered the SCase for Note and it's simply perfect (i'm using the red one).
Cheers
Loved the SGP Ultra Thin for my iPhone.. Bet they are as good for the Note.
Ordered mine, but didn't get it yet.
I'd love to get a Zenus case but the one thing that scares me is the magnets they use for their cases.
The Zenus vintage one seems to deliver good protector to both the screen and the phone itself but at the cost of being rather thick I think..
The case that suits my needs the best is probably the samsung original flip case as it reduces its thickness by replacing the battery cover.. The problem is that the side of the leather won't stay in one piece..
There are many debates on screenprotectors in these forums but is it really necessary? I mean.. I just hate screenprotectors but don't want my screen to get scratched.. (my captivate remainced unscratched even though I didn't even had a case on it, my EVO 3D got some scratches from metal studs)
