Please someone help me!!!
The default Browser application on my Nexus one just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website.
Therefor I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only happen when I used the Dolphin Browser or Default browser and realised that both had the same issue.
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well.(Market,Gmail,Twitter,Youtube...) As I said above the Opera Mini browser works is the only browser that work for browsing internet
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files / Radios / Kernals ect..
And also im using Froyo from hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686593
Any ideas to get rid of this??????
I'm experiencing the same problem. Did you find a fix for it?
Same issue for me and its really pissing me off because Opera sucks as a browser!

Guys, I have a bit of a strange problem.. i am using JF1.5 but my browser is not working... by that i mean it opens without a problem and shows the homepage ( www.google.com ) in a second but when i open anyother address it just says " web page not available- check your internet connection " but the strange thing is that when i open a link there is no network activity as if the browser aint even trying to connect to the network ....
Now i have installed opera mini and thats working just fine .... i.e opens every page quickly .... but opera is very hard and i dont like it at all .... and i want to use the built in browser...
Any Idea whats the problem ?
Thanks
the google home page you see is probably a cached version, it didn't actually download that page from the internet.
from your description, it seems to be a network state problem. the android system has its own way for detecting internet connections, it may report you're offline even if you're not. but the only two apps I know that uses this is browser and downloader. you have to check if your apn settings are complete. make sure you have the "proxy" field set.
I tried to mess with the apn settings but to no use .... Its really freaky ... every other browser works just fine .... and so does the market and google talk but the built in browser behaves as if there is no data connection .... is there a way i can uninstall it and reinstall it from somewhere somehow ?
Regards
I'm having the same exact problem. I upgraded my G1 and it worked fine but when I upgraded my girlfriends G1, the default browser doesn't work.
I will open up the browser and the page will show and then it just closes out and goes back to the desktop. I've tried to flash it again and there is no change.
Ok.
So I went into the application manager and cleared out everything and it still doesn't work.
Not sure what could be causing this because my phone flashed fine.
Has anyone gotten this to work on the tab. I can surf the web via the stock browser but can't get market to work.
When i try to use opera mini it wont open a page neither can i access facebook application or market
anyone got any solutions to this.
I flashed my first rom successfully yesterday, serendipity 6.4. Everything's great except 2 things so far; 1. my default browser doesn't work, my skyfire works but I liked the default best. 2. I added email thru the kitchen but every time I open it it force closes. Any suggestions?
How is the default browser functioning incorrectly? Need a little more detail than that to help.
"Web page not available" is what comes up whenever I open the default browser or google search. My skyfire browser works so I assume any other browser I get would work. But I really liked that one. It's like not connected to my internet. It might be a setting that I can't find, idk. I should see if it works on wifi maybe. Only my only wifi connection is myself...

Hi guys,
Hope someone can assist. I have a stock Tab, and entered all the suggested APN settings. I now have 3G (Can text, call, recieve calls etc...), and I can use internet apps, such as Facebook, Market etc. However, using the stock internet browser ... nothing. Web page cannot be displayed. I can't browse. When I get into Wifi connectivity, then it all works fine...
So, under 3G, I have internet, but can't browse.
I have upgraded to Gingerbread, and still have the same issues. Any ideas what can just block browsing, but allow everything else? The only common things I guess, is my APN settings... the device it's self ... and my network.
I'm in Australia, using TPG as my provider..
try grabbing another browser in the market like opera mini which is amazing. If that solves the problem then its something to do with the installation of the UI or Android on your device. Either restore to factory settings. If neither work you may have a port issue on your APN settings as different internet services work differently. So triple check with your carrier.
But if Opera or another browser works then I would suggest restore factory settings and if they don't work with stock browser then call Sammy and they will do a full reset on the device and or replace it. They are not that bad at doing this.
Hope this helps.
dolphin hd is better browser... just my suggestion.
Love with opera that it has link and my home screens and bookmarks all sync to my phone and tab.
That for me is reason enough .. But Di like dolphin too >:~)

Miren and opera are definitely the best, doplin just seems to bloated and fat for my liking
No one uses Firefox??
Tried ff some nice features but bloated to hell and buggy
Maybe whenbits bit more stable will give it a run

The standard thread question...
I didn't see any prior topics about this. I use the CM9 nightlies.
I've tried the following:
Browser (I haven't really used this much)
Chrome (I get a lot of crashes when I scroll quickly on sites with heavy coding)
Dolphin (Don't like how the address bar disappears when scrolling down)
Dolphin Mini (I like how the address bar stays, but this browser has limited features)
Opera HD (Meh)
Maxthon (Everyone says to use this one. While it's nice, I've found that you can't really open a lot of tabs with this browser without it crashing and/or freezing.)
What do you guys use? What should I try?
It doesn't look like you have tried Firefox, so that might be worth a go. It is a very personal choice, but I have stuck with the ICS browser for most use (also have Chrome, Dolphin and Firefox installed).
Dolphin. It's fast and fullscreen. I would've used Chrome (i like the sync with Google account), but it's laggy and adress bar and tabs are unhideable.
For now, I'm using ICS Browser+.
I have most of the ones mentioned installed, but use ICS Browser+ most of the time.
I've just been using the standard browser. It allows a desktop user agent, supports flash, has tabs and is pretty stable which is all i need.

I think opera mobile its more stable browser
I myself haven't found any reason to switch from the stock browser. I love the quick controls.
I like Dolphin HD for all my Andorid decices. I like having multipe tabs open.
*EDIT*scratch that, after a few days.of ok browsing with Dolphin HD, I can't even get it open without crashing. It's constantly asking me to send an error report. Gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling and see what happens.

The new Firefox is probably the fastest browser on android.
I still use the Firefox Nightlies because I like the gestures for closing tabs.

One thing about Dolphin's address bar disappearing when browsing, you can change the setting so its always showing.
