Does anyone know of anyway to set the nexus to automatically power off at a certain set time. Any app? I have been having a hard time finding much on the issue.

My tilt's EDGE and 3G connection automatically turn on, sometimes when i wake up, it's on for 9 hours, why is that? and i can't find a way to fix it. And when i put the tilt away for a few min, the screen will automatically shut down to save on energy, and i will have to press the POWER button once to have the screen back up. Can we change this setting? it is not very handy. thanks for the help. i am a noob.

I had the same problem,
Disabled push email.
Problem went away.
I have a similar problem. Is there a way to see what application is opening the data connection. I had email set to download once a day, so it was not my email. Can't think what else it may be...
Hi,
Is there any way to change backlight time out when the phone is locked(long red button press)??? Normally my phone is set up to turn of backlight after 40 sec -and I wanna KEEP it. I need to shorten that time to 5 sec only when the phone is locked(when accidentally I press any button in the pocket it will be unnecessary draining battery for 40 sec. Please can anybody help me?
Bump, I would like a solution to this also. Seems like my Diamond used to time out after ten seconds when locked, but it doesn't do that anymore. Now it uses the settings in the Setting:System/Power/Backlight, which I have set at 45 seconds I believe. I think installing Phone Alarm might have something to do with it. I disabled Phone Alarms power settings, but still same problem.
Anyone know the fix for this?
Nevermind, I just started using S2U2, and I can adjust this the way I need it. Thanks.
Is it possible to make the G1 automatically switch on, when power is available?
The situation is that I have a G1 that needs to be left on constantly, and is left on charge, however should the power go off, for more than the battery life of the G1, the phone will obviously power down. Is it possible to have the phone auto switch on when power is reconnected?
Any help most appreciated?

Something that makes the G1 turn on when it's off? I'm sure it's possible, but not with software (obviously, you can't run software on a device that's off and has no power). You'd need to take apart your phone, and install some kind of circuitry that simulates pushing the power button when current passes through it....
The point is, this is pretty far-fetched and probably way more effort than it's worth. It's impossible to do with software. Although... if you did make it work, be sure to make a YouTube video and send me a link, that would make the geek in me very happy!
Very odd...
My screen won't timeout anymore, unless I manually press the power button. It doesn't matter whether the phone is plugged in or not, and it isn't dependent on the screen I am on either. The screen just stays on forever.
Is there a way I can see if a certain program is preventing the screen from sleeping? Has anyone encountered this type of thing before?
Thanks!

Did you check the screen time out settings, maybe you got it at 30mins ?
Yeah, it's set to 30 seconds. It must be some program that tells my phone not to sleep?
Even more odd...
It fixed itself!
Rebooting the phone for the last couple days had no effect on the timeout issue I was having, but doing it this afternoon somehow resolved the issue.
Add this to the list of idiosyncrasies that my SGS has.
I'm having this annoying problem with my SGS (JPY) at the moment. Sometimes it'll go to sleep and turn off the screen by itself, but 9 times out of 10 I have to manually turn it off with the power button.
Has anyone else experienced this with JPY? I'm reluctant to wipe and start again, but it's really starting to piss me off now...
might be an old topic, but i am experiencing this right now
i just installed gingerreal guerilla version yesterday and it works fine
however when i connected my phone to usb for charging this morning, it wont turn off the screen unless i do it manually by pressing the power button
weird thing is as far as i remember there's a setting on USB debug mode to turn off the screen when connected to usb. i think it might be related to the rom or is it always like that on gingerbread? i assume that is the root cause,
although i couldn't post the issue directly on the gingerreal thread due to minimum post count.
On my Verizon Galaxy S6 edge, after updating to marshmallow I later got a notification to be able to change different settings based on where I am. I experimented with it and set my phone to automatically turn wifi off, put phone on vibrate, and go into power saving mode when I get to work. I also set it up to turn the ring on and exit power saving mode when I get home. I forgot to set wifi to turn on and have tried unsuccessfully to find the settings for this feature. It's getting annoying and I have no idea how to turn it off. I'm a fairly advanced user of android and have had several rooted phones with custom ROMs in the past, but I'm stumped at this. I've looked through both phone and Google settings with no luck. I also can't find any info on the Web when I search. Has anyone else had this notification pop up and does anyone know where I can go back to adjust the settings?
Widgets?
This same issue has been driving me mad ever since I upgraded to Marshmallow. I was presented with a seemingly useful feature to enable (or disable) features based upon my location - I chose to disable Bluetooth when at home, as I never use it there, right? Wrong! Turns out I use it more than I thought and it's incredibly frustrating when it keeps disabling itself at will!
Anyway, after much annoyance and weeks of trawling through every conceivable phone setting and Google option I finally stumbled upon the solution...in widgets!
Touch and hold any blank area on your home screen, select widgets and look for 'my places'. In there you will be able to find every single option that you wish to undo
