I need somebody with the knowhow to do me a favour!
I'm running the new MoDaCo rom for Hero, and I really don't like the standart HTC lockscreen, but I do adore this one.

Can some body PLEAZ make me a .zip for updating my rom?
You can remove "HTC Lockscreen" via adb commands, then you got
Lockscreen similar to this!
Also there are apps at market which can change Lockscreen to this!
Code:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk
adb shell reboot or adb reboot
hmm.. app not found?
Nobody..???
Plesse help needed here!
When I adb this :
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app
mv HtcLockScreen.apk HtcLockScreen.bak
exit
it says "cant remove, file is read only"
If your on the new rom, the default lockscreen (vanilla one that you want) is broken anyway. I doubt Modaco has fixed it (with all due respect to him).
VillainRom 10.3 however will defiantly have this fixed.

Google Reader *Inverted* - v0.9.3 - UPDATED 02/17/2011
Due to unprecedented popular demand (lol.. j/k), I've updated the recent version of Google Reader.
Right when I finished 0.9.2, 0.9.3 was dropped. So here's the latest as of 2/17/2011
This works perfectly, but is still definitely a work in progress-- Big thanks to xKape on Droidforums.net for leading the way.
I'm just attaching the apk for now-- if someone wants to drop it into a flashable zip, feel free and I'll update OP.
FYI it goes in /system/app/ (not data)
Screencaps:
The dark blue is "unread", btw.

Instructions for now:
If you currently use Google Reader, UNINSTALL it FIRST.
I'd also double check that it is removed, and the corresponding /data/data/com.google.android.apps.reader (or close to that) is removed.
Using Root Explorer:
Download GoogleReader.apk to /sdcard
Copy from /sdcard to /system/app/
Long click GoogleReader.apk, change permissions to rw-r--r--
Using ADB:
(if there's an easier way to do this.. feel free to mention)
Download GoogleReader.apk and drop into your sdk\tools\ folder (wherever it is).
(case sensitive!)
adb push GoogleReader.apk /system/app/GoogleReader.apk
adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/GoogleReader.apk
adb reboot
Again.. a work in progress, but here's the latest. Enjoy!
hehe.. i guess not as many people use google reader as I thought.
Sweet, I'll give it a shot tonight.
updated OP (wayyy up there)
Hi,
can you tweak the app to use the https server instead of http?
http google reader is filtered in my country (Iran)
or use .co.uk server instead of google.com ones!
Install with adb or rootexplorer. (to system/framework)
Make backup, try the CW recovery by Paul.

Hi guys, I was tired of having a super fancy boot screen and I wanted something really simple so I made this boot animation. It's basically just the Android logo with a loading spinner underneath but I think it looks really nice on the device

Should work. Try putting it in either /system/media/ or /data/local/ keeping the same name (bootanimation.zip). You'll have to use either Root Explorer or you can use adb using these commands:
Code:
adb remount
adb push /path/to/bootanimation.zip /system/media/
OR
adb push /path/to/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
Hope this helps!

Works on CM 7.1... I like it.
hello,
i made a few little boot"animations" for galaxy mini:

the logo is not my creation - it's some cyanogenmod logo. the Cid logo comes with this license - i assume that the logo i use comes with the same. the same license applies to my part of the work.
the font is URW Gothic L. i don't know how it's licensed but i'm pretty sure it's either SIL or GPL.
i wanted to create something very small and minimalistic; they're only a few KB each. other people's bootanimations are as big as 5MB and really slow down the boot process...
each bootanimation.zip is zipped again with a few extras (bootsplash, homescreen background).
i will be happy to create one like that for you for a different ROM!
install: copy it to /data/local/bootanimation.zip or to /system/media/bootanimation.zip
with adb: "adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/"
enjoy!
updated & expanded.
see post #1.

there you go.
i updated the first post (i called it ba-allcyan-centered-7.2.zip).
didn't try it on my own phone though, let me know how it goes.
you want a kernel bootsplash, too? integrating it is a lot more work than pushing a bootanimation.
anyhow if you want, tell me which kernel, i'll create the image in .rle format.
Very good ..
Hi!
I was messing around with my One (M7) in ADB to get hearthstone to work on it, and this worked perfectly.
However, upon using "adb shell wm size reset" to return my phone to normal not everything worked properly. Most noticeably is that the volume bar extends far beyond what it should when the phone is vertical (it seem permanantly stuck in the horizontal mode) and I think the icons are slightly blown up compared to what they used to be. FYI My phone is not rooted.

describe what you did exactly otherwise the only thing I can think of is a factory reset
"adb shell wm size 1440x2560" to get the app to run properly, and sideloading the app onto my phone via adb.
