Upgrade problems

I upgraded to the latest O2 ROM and it has fixed all problems. However, now after a hard reset it appears to have lost my Internet and GPRS settings and said it failed to detect them. I can't connect to WAP or GPRS or send MMS over O2 Active now.
How can I fix?

Still not working
It still doesn't work. I installed the O2 CAB but I have no MMS settings and GPRS is still all over of the place.

Which one did you try..?
i-mate_PPC_O2_UK_Contract.CAB or O2_UK.CAB
Did you follow the correct procedure for the CAB installation..? ie, turn off for about 15 seonds, soft reset then make sure the settings are in place..?

What do you mean turn off for 15 seconds?

ok - to turn off for about 15 seconds is to turn off the screen, wait a while and then do a soft re-set.. that should initiate your settings, etc
Also, have you tried the "i-mate_PPC_O2_UK_Contract.CAB" with the soft re-set procedure..

real strange problem with clock being slow, with official htc new rom wwe hongkong

I dunno why, but my phone clock is running as slow as molasses, totally disconnected from the real world. it slows 1-2 minutes every day, so you can imagine what happens in 1 week.
the only remedy to this problem so far is to sync the phone to my computer everyday.
wonder if anyone has the same problem, maybe anyone can help with this?

Hi, I've got the same problem with my TD! ROM ver is 1.93.832.2 CHT. not sure if there's a problem with WM or the ROM?!

You'll probably find that if you have "Automatic Change Time Zone And Clock" enabled under the "phone" settings, then it will sync to your carrier time clock. To avoid this, uncheck the box and allow it to sync with your PC.
If it is not enabled, maybe even try enabling it!

Same problem here, ROM 1.93.831.1. Problem is still here with with "Automatic Change Time Zone And Clock" enabled or off, makes no difference.

TMUK Compact IV to HTC 2.03 ROM - connection settings?

Hi,
Before anyone shouts, I have searched the forums and read hundreds of posts but haven't found the answer! I have a stock TMUK MDA Compact IV which is, to say the least, slow and unstable. It's totally stock at the moment and I want to flash it to the latest official HTC Diamond 2.03 ROM as there are plenty of reports of speed and stability improvements.
Question - will the GPRS/3G connection settings (and any other network-specific setup I need) automatically detect or will I have to manually configure them after flashing? The TMUK stock ROM hides the connection details so I can't make a note of them - I therefore want to be sure I have all the details I need before I blow the old ROM away!!
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I didn't use the latest official ROM, but the previous one automatically detected the network setting after 1 or 2 minutes of being "on air". You get a notification that network settings have been found, and it will ask if you want to install them.
So i assume the new ROM does exactly the same

Do a search on Modaco, they have a cab that gives you the T-Mobile settings.

the rom will automatically pic up that its needs settings so you select the correct option then you accept the settings and all will be fine.im on TMUK with a Diamond and everything is sweet.

Upgraded fine thanks everyone. I had to select my network and it automatically set up the connections. One strange thing is that if I selected "T-Mobile" the next screen of the wizard had a different network name listed! Seems that the names and connection details are mixed up, I had to go through each network and find the one with T-Mobile's settings behind it. Think it was "Fresh" in the end!
Anyway, a couple of strange things I've noticed and wondered if anyone could help. Apart from these, so far the ROM is a big improvment on the old one.
1 - My GMail account will only download over the air if I set the account to connect using my GPRS connection - if I leave it on "The Internet" it fails to connect even though the connections are configured so that "The Internet" links to my GPRS connection! Opera works fine, so it's a messaging issue.
2 - The main problem - I can't get WMWiFiRouter to install! I had it working fine on my old ROM, but when I run the cab to install now it just sits with the progress bar on zero with the rotating "busy" symbol forever. Other cabs install fine! Any ideas?

problems with email, icq and wlan

hi!
i'm a newbie @ this forum, so i hope that these questions are ok to ask & my english isn't the worst..
i'm from germany and i got the touch diamond from vodafone in germany..
now i've got 3 problems..
1. if i want to sync emails with my gmx account (pop3) i got a message, that i'm not able to sync it.. "synchronisation problem" maybe it's because the proxy doesn't allow that? i got a imap email account from vodafone too, and there are no problems.. is somebody there who has the same provider or problem?
2. i got qip for the diamond and i can't get a connection to the icq network. "connection timeout" or something like that is the message i get. i tested a lot of icq clients, and i use not the newest version of qip because in this version i'm able to set the proxy, where i set the settings like my connection settings from the windows mobile device.. i've heard, that some vodafone users get this started with my version & my settings, so maybe its somebody here who get this started too.
i think 1 & 2 are the same problem, there must be a mistake in the connection settings.. maybe there is no solution, i searched @ the whole web for weeks & nothing is usefull.. it's strange that i can use the vodafone live portal & google and everything else on port 80..
now there is still the problem 3, its the most important for me..
3. if i go to the standby-mode (the small button on the top of the phone^^) and it's in standby for a while, the damn wlan connection is turning on!!! its really bad, because the battery is empty after a short while. is there a way to disable the automatic wlan connection? after that i always have to go to >settings>connection manger and have to disable wlan.. i installed the advanced settings (i think i got it from here) and enabled a lot of power management settings, and if wlan doesn't turn on, my battery works for 1,5 days (if i doesn't access the internet and play with the phone).. this is a really bad disadvantage @ the phone.. if wlan is turning on the battery is empty after a few hours..
by the way, has somebody a tip for me to get the phone turned on for longer? and whats the record running time? xD

A quick question about Connection settings in ROM's - are they regional?

Sorry if this a retarded question, I can't find anyone else that's asked.
Basically my unbranded Touch Pro 2 has in the data connection settings the default selections of UK and then TMobile.
What i need to know is, on these cooked ROMs will that setting still be there? If not where do i get the settings to reenable my data.
I'm going to do the HardSPL and flash thing tonight for first time. I'm a little aprehensiveso just wanna make sure I don't install some flashy ROM but lose my 3G browsing.

I have an unbranded tp2 on tmobile uk from expansys, connection settings with custom roms bring up tmobile uk. It did when i was flashing Kaiser roms.
Having trouble at the mo with mms on the current rom I've flashed but gonna do a bit of searching tonight to sort that.
(need to update my sig from kaiser to tp2)

cool, good to know someone else with sam setup. mine is from mobilephonesdirect.
I don't send a lot of mms, but what is the known issue?
Also were there any complications for you or a smooth install and Hardspl flash?

My unbranded TP2's on T-Mobile and from MobilePhonesDirect too!

OK I was all up for flashing last night (HardSPL) but lost my bottle when i came to something which was not mentioned.
When i first started tot run the program, with my phone in an activsync connection everything was normal.
Then when i click Automatic flash, then ok on the next screen (before the screen with the picture of the TP2 on it) my TP2 goes into a kind of dead mode, black screen no lights.
Now i think this is normal from what I've read, but the weird thing is my computer indicates here that the USB is dropped and activsync disconnects, however some other drivers are then installed and the phone is sort of still connected (although that isnt indicated anywhere).
I was nervous as activsync was not there so hit cancel, did a soft reset on phone and all was still normal (preflashed state).
Please can somebody confirm that activsync only is there at the start and that the activsync will disconnect after you hit ok, it's not explicitly defined in the tutorial and I'm nervous of bricking handset.
