Downgrading to 1.56 ROM from 2.1 using RA - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Would it be possible to downgrade to the official shipped Sprint 1.56 ROM (RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.56.651.2_signed_release.exe) from official 2.1 ROM using recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2? I know hboot was changed in the latest ROM and 1.56 RUU generates the dreaded 140 error, but would it be possible to extract rom.zip and flash it using RA?

[Q] How Can I Update HBoot Through Recovery?

Hi, I would like to update my Nexus One to 2.3.3. However, I can not do that because the rom that I want to install requires HBoot 0.35
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968499
Is there anyway to update my HBoot to 0.35 by using custom recovery? or is there anyway to install that rom without updating HBoot?
Thanks,
Salah
I found it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11624604&postcount=1

Hboot question

Downgrade HBOOT from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 without Goldcard hassle free

After having a HTC Buzz for only a few days now and spending most of that time trying to downgrade HBOOT from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 without success, I thought I would share this very easy way of going about it.
I followed [GUIDE] Downgrade to HTC Froyo WWE for AlphaRevX (HBOOT 1.01.0001) without success. After reading through the posts a lot of people did it hassle free but for others they could not accomplish this at all, like myself. With this procedure Step1 was successful, Goldcard was created successfully but for me Step2 just closed without actually doing anything.
I achieved downgrade from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 by simply installing a Ship ROM available on 3xeno thread [RUU] HTC Wildfire Shipped / Stock ROMs Collection [Complete]. The ROM is a WWE Froyo ROM and this will automatically downgrade HBOOT for you to 1.01.0001 just by simple having your phone plugged into the data cable, clicking the .exe and following the popup Wizard. The Ship ROM can be downloaded from Multiupload or Rapishare. After flashing this ROM I am now on 1.01.0001 and I successfully achieved S-OFF, flashed a custom Recovery and Rooted my phone by following the Revolutionary Method. I can now flash any Custom ROM, zip update or simply flash a percentage battery icon in the original Buzz ROM.
Step1 from "[GUIDE] Downgrade to HTC Froyo WWE for AlphaRevX (HBOOT 1.01.0001)" (Link above) was successfully installed before the Ship ROM was Flashed so maybe others can try Flashing the Sip ROM without Step1 installed and let me know.
I hope this helps others to get HBOOT to 1.01.0001.
If this helped then please hit the Thanks button.

he must first Downgrade HBOOT from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 to use revolutionary
revolutionary work only with HBOOT 1.01.0001 to S-OFF
I think you will still have to perform step 1 successfully. Afaik, directly flashing the ruu will not downgrade the 0002 hboot to 0001.

I flashed the ROM above and it did indeed downgrade the HBOOT from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001. The memory card had a full format so no Goldcard present.

Ok a little more information please. Is this a new IncS that shipped with HBOOT 1.16? If not, did you receive an OTA update that installed HBOOT 1.16? In either case unless you went through the procedure at HTCDEV site to UnLock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery and a new ROM, ou probably still have a stock ROM on it.
So if you could explain in more detail the current state of your system it would help.
i got hboot 1.16 preinstalled and i'm currently trying to boot miui rom

So you have unlocked the bootloader and flashed a custom recovery and then flashed MIUI? After you flashed MIUI did you extract the boot.img from the MIUI zip file and flash it using the FASTBOOT command?
i just done it and i would like to know how to reinstall stock rom with hboot 1.16 and radio version is 3805.07.03.05 please

This post has a whole bunch of shipped stock ROMs. Download the one for your carrier and then run the RUU.exe on your PC and follow the instructions.

Ok the only Optus RUU that is there is the original Optus GB ROM and not the most current that has HBOOT 1.16 in it. That is why the RUU is failing. HBOOT 1.16 will not let you downgrade the HBOOT version by running an older RUU.
so how can i restore to stock using ruu hboot 1.16 then

Did you make a nandroid backup in recovery before you tried flashing Miui? If not then you are stuck with using custom ROMs until your RUU is available for downloading.
no and i using Nik IncredibleS TriNiTy SensationXL V 2.0 and i had to use a different rom then fastboot the boot.img then i reinstall Nik IncredibleS TriNiTy SensationXL V 2.0 and the wifi working again

[Q] Lollipop ruu

Anyone know where I can find a stock Lollipop Sense ruu that I can flash to restore an M7 back to stock?
Previously I have been using a euro JB based ruu from htc1guru, but it's a pain starting out on Jellybean, and upgrading from there but that website only goes up to a Kitkat radio for a euro base ruu, and even then I ran into issue flashing kitkat ruu.
I am super CID and s-off of course. I always flash 1.44 hboot prior to doing the above.
I need the zip by the way, not an exe as I am running linux on my laptop.
Thanks.

HI bob, look at the sticky threads in the general section. Don't forget that you need at least hboot 1.57 and a 6.xx.xxx.x firmware (version-main) to flash a Lollipop RUU.
