Right, I've been following a guide on androidandme.com and after a few hiccups, managed to flash the latest version of the N1 addon. Now, problem is, the phone gets stuck on the cyanogen screen when booting up. I know almost nothing about what I'm doing, just following a guide, so be gentle.
What to do?
Fixed it! Just forgot to hit wipe in the recovery mode.
Glad ya figured it out....

I hope someone knows the answer or could help me out, I have been battling this issue for some time now.
It all started when I upgaded to cyanogen 4.2.6, there would be times when I would reboot the phone due to weird issues (unable to scroll in browser, slowness). Upon reboot I would be surprised with the tri color screen. I figured out that by holding down the VOL down button, it would work. (Like i said, WEIRD).
This method no longer works and the last update I ran was 4.2.8.
Here are the following steps I have tried to date: (to no avail)
1. Ran nandroid recovery
2. re-installed 4.2.8
3. Wiped, then re-installed 4.2.8
4. Tried installing 'signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-ota-14721'
5. tried installing Tmobile g1 DREAIMG.nbh (RC29)
At this point Im almost certain it is Bricked, unless one of you witty fellows can help me out!
Any help is appreciated!
Wrong place to ask questions bud, you should try Dream Q&A.
But, while I'm here, isn't the Tri-colored screen the SPL screen?
Not sure, I assume it has something to do with the radio. I will post this in Dream Q&A....
Thats the bootloader screen. Have you tried to flash thru fastboot.
Lol That's the bootloader, dude.
Anyways, I really doubt you're bricked. If you can get into recovery(power + home) you're not bricked.
Just go through the process of installing cyanogen's rom again- the htc recovery then the rom, etc.
Also, about the problems you had with cyanogen's rom. Obviously they're not problems with the rom, seeing how it works fine for the majority. You just need to figure out what you're doing wrong.
Move this thread already.
I say do a fresh install. Wipe everything, install the HTC recovery image first, then install Cyan's latest.
I did get my phone working again. thanks to everyone who helped out!
I ended up re-installing 'dreaimg.nbh', reverting back to the original OS from tmobile. during this process,I assume re-wrote the radio firmware, thus fixing my problem. (correct me if I am wrong)
And of course, I went back to cyanogen 4.2.9 in the end!
Hello,
I have a nexus one that isn't working anymore. I was trying to install the cyanogenmod, but I guess I didn't do it correctly.
I was following the clockworkmod way from this: h t t p ://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Nexus_One:_Full_Update_Guide
When flashing the rom something went wrong. After step 6 my phone didnt reboot, it just stayed off. Now it will only give me the nexus sign if i turn on the phone.
I can still acces the recovery menu when holding Power + volume down.
People told that I should go back to the stock rom.
Can anybody please help me?
*don't know if i've posted in the right category
When you get to recovery is it still clockwork or stock? If clockwork then try and flash cm6 again. If not you will have to download a stock rom push it to the sdcard as an update.zip and boot into the boot loader.
Sent from my Galaxy Tab, that makes phone calls
Since you can boot into recovery you have NOT bricked it for sure
As mentioned in the earlier post try to flash the CM ROM again
If you are unable to access the custom recovery (as in, the stock recovery is still in place), you can follow the manual instructions for installing ClockworkMod: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Nexus_One:_Full_Update_Guide#Manual_Method
You can then follow the procedure for flashing the appropriate radio image: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.p...ll_Update_Guide#ClockworkMod_Recovery_process
And you can even install the ROM without using Rom Manager using this process: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.p...Update_Guide#Second_Method_.28via_Recovery.29
All of this is, as I'm sure you've noticed, posted on the same page that you linked. Hopefully this information will help you, now that you have been assured that your phone is not bricked.
Thanks for quick replies. I've contacted a guy with a lot of knowledge about these kind of thinks and helped me fixing me phone. I dont know exactly what went down but I will give it a try.
My first mistake was thinking that I rooted my phone (using the one click method). Don't know if thats the right way to do it, but in the end it wasn't rooted and I tought it was.
The guy rooted my phone, did the AmonRa recovery install and installed the Ethernom Rom for me. Great to have my phone back to working and great Rom btw.
Hello all,
New at this.
Ive managed to disable my camera so I wanted to do a factory reset, so I might as well try a cool ROM. Ive gone for the cyanogenmod.
My device is a SGS I9000.
Ive followed this tutorial.
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide
Done everything as described.
Ive gotten up to the step to download a ROM (cyanogen, normal, not nightly) with ROM Manager, and fire it up.
I got into clockwork recovery but I thought everything would be one click in ROM manager so I didnt do anything in there and clicked reboot.
After that I wanted to try the other way, so tried the other way, but I cant get myself into Clockwork Recovery anymore.
Then I tried to do things over again from the very start.
Ive tried this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892910 to replicate the conditions under which I got into clockwork once. By redownloading the ROM, but after this I also got into the normal android recovery.
Well, Im kind of stuck on what to do now...
Could anyone help me out?
~tb.
You say that you can't get into Reovery. Could you please tell us what you do to get into recovery? Have you tried the "volume up"+"menu"+"lock" button combo? After you get into revovery, it's fairly simple to flash cyanogenmod.
Thank you for responding iamsatan.
I only got into Clockwork Recovery once.
After this I always got the normal Recovery, whatever I did.
But I have solved it already.
I bricked my phone (true story), after that I used odin3 to reset my phone.
Next I did a factory reset and I walked through the whole guide again.
Now I did the steps the first time I got into Clockwork, so everything is fine now.
So, I kinda messed up my Note.
I know i should be asking this in the Dev page but seeing as i am new member here i am not "allowed" at the moment.
If there is anyone out there that can help me out, it will be greatly appreciated, and now the ordeal:
I have a (to my knowledge) KKA 2.3.6 Stock rom. I was feeling a lil over zealous and thinking of rooting it. I did the zerg method got it rooted. Then i saw the "ICS_transition-KKA-stock" file in the development page.
Now feeling like the lord of the Note, i thought to myself how hard can this be, I rebooted in recovery and installed from zip. Next thing i know i restarted my phone and all is well UNTIL NOW...........the phone booted up first but every app was going force close, i somehow got my phone to go into recovery thinking i can uninstall the "ICS_transition-KKA-stock" from it but there is no option so i rebooted again and now its stuck on BOOT animation. SIGH
SO if there is anyone out there that help me out, i will greatly appreciate it. I backed up all my stuff before i felt like Christopher Columbus so if need be ill be ok to deleting everything.
I tried odin already and no luck......
Thank you and happy Holidays!!!
Try a factory reset/wipe data from recovery
I just did, i tried wipe cache and partition and even the advance section wipe as well. As soon as i reboot it gets stuck on the samsung logo animation.....
Did you also try the 'wipe data/factory reset' option?
Yes sir, tried the 2 wipes and the one in advanced option as well. After reboot the animation is on a loop, the sound only comes once but the vid is looping. I dont know if its recoverable now.....
Thanks for the suggestion though!!!
If you can boot into download mode you can always fix things. I messed up a couple of times and just flashed back to a Samsung full stock firmware using Odin.
Try this:

Thanks bud, I will try it asap and let you know!!!
I didn't think anyone would be up this late
4am est my time!
Success Finally, Thanks bud a lot!!!!
Happy Holidays!!!
A newbie question, How do i thank your post!!!???
Glad you got it fixed mate!
Thanks button is in the right bottom corner of each post. Only visible in the browser, not in the App.
Everything was going fine, I had it rooted, and was going to try putting a custom ROM on it, except I didn't actually have any Recovery software installed yet.
Now, after I rooted the phone, I power cycled it a few times to make sure, and I was sure. I tried a few SU needed programs, and they were able to obtain SU rights just fine.
The problem is when I followed this guide.
Apparently I can't link to anything, so.
I followed it, installed TWRP just fine I believe, seeing as it installed something anyways.
And then I turned off my phone to actually go into recovery.
Only to find that it wouldn't go into recovery. No, it just went to a black screen after the logo, with the soft key lights flashing and then...rebooted itself and did the same thing. Over, and over, and over.
So, right now I've pulled the battery out and it's just sitting there.
Is there anything I can do at this point to fix the phone?
I think i can help!
Your phone's bricked now all you need to do is to reflash the stock firmware and start over.
follow these steps carefully and you're good to go. If you have any probs i'm here to help out
