Not sure what exactly could be causing my issue.. I will point out it's probably not build related as I have been running Incubuses SuperE Cyanogenmod Eclair Beta 1 for a while and have had no call related issues.
Today I installed the superE beta 2, played around with it, then saw that Myn had released a new version of Eclair, so since I'm bored at work I figured I'd give it a try and see which I liked better.
I didn't try to make or receive a call after putting the beta 2 on there, so I don't know if it was working then or not.
My question is, could it possibly be related to some of the other files in the andboot folder?
Exact Install Steps:
replaced old androidinstall.tar with super E beta 2
rebooted phone, installed system on NAND, data on NAND, did not clear data
played around
replaced old andboot folder with the one provided in with Myn's most recent RLS1
rebooted phone, installed system on NAND, data on NAND, did no clear data
Any help or insight would be appreciated.
I have a bit more info that might be helpful.. My calls are showing in the call log as missed calls, but the phone never alerts me that there is a call coming in. I am now able to make phone calls just fine.
I've noticed that if I have ring vibrate turned on, it takes a longer time for the phone to ring. Try turning that off if it's on.
Incubus26jc also just released beta3 of superE with the Phone Prioritizer script. That seems to have helped me with ringer lag on my Vogue too.
It could be due to silly mistake. Make sure your ringtone is not set as silent. It happened to me a while back.
but even if the ringtone was set to silent, wouldn't the message come up on the screen saying I was getting an incoming call?
I'm about to try the vibrate thing and see if it works.. I'm running the beta 3 of the super E build right now.
didn't fix it..
Here's some extra info that may help.. My network status icon in the notification bar is 3G. When I call from another phone, I notice it changes to E for a second, and this is when the voice mail picks up. It then goes back to 3G after a second.
Effin weird.. I might try reburning the ROM and start with a fresh install.
well that fixed it. I reburned the latest eclair image and flashed Myn's most recent release and all is working..
Very odd.
CriMson - care to elaborate the steps you followed on the flashing and reinstall?
I'm having the same issue, but while running Donut. I believe I did a reinstall to the SD card as well and still had no luck getting calls to the phone.

ok i have updated to the new firmware and used app2sd from my previous post(other ones dont work on my milestone)
first i did 2 nano backups one just data and the other a full backup in case i screw up.i then flashed the new telus sbf after i did a wipe and then factory reset ,then i rooted(using open recovery)installed app2sd then did a nano restore of my data and voila its running with all my apps.
i must say the update is awesome gps locks in real quick it runs smoother overall everything launcher games, menu, home screen etc without overclock apk.no lag at all ..call are clearer but lets see on that still early.here is the link to the file http://groupoften.wordpress.com/ and my previous post on how to app2sd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=692367
I am using this one since the day of release. All annoying bugs are ironed - location based service in 3G on non-Telus network works, no more music starting and stopping on its own, the newer and better youtube app and many other improvements.
Overall - HUGE improvements over current Telus stock one.
Edit: I forgot to mention the most important improvement: people stopped complaining I am breaking up on them when talking to me!!
do i just flash this using RBD?
Simply follow the how-to: http://groupoften.wordpress.com/category/how-to/

yes i love that i dont break up on call's anymore also i notice battery life is better.the phone no longer reboots on its on
im new here, just a question, so this is the SBF file, what part of the phone does it change? I have the nandroid backup from other posters here after i flashed this SBF my RAM has gone down a lot, does anyone know? thanks
Check the other goodie G.O.T. offers - their open recovery. There are few hacks that it can apply which will cure your memory problems (as well as others like paid apps on market/etc).
the got hacks do not work you just get stuck in a boot loop
Just installed this firmware everything works. Ran GOT openrecovery too. 1.04a worked flawlessly. Running apps2sd from openrecovery was so cool. Partitioned my sd card, installed busybox, installed apps2sd, as well all my apps got moved over automatically. All done from openrecovery.
imma have to try this out soon

Thanks a lot for the link to the ROM and the GOTS OpenRecovery, I never even knew about this. Hopefully the music auto-start issue goes away now!

Music auto-start is fixed. Along with geolocation issues in 3G and noise cancelation issues. Battery seem to last a tad longer too. Overall - I am extremely happy with the GOT Telus release!

I had issues earlier with G.O.T.'s JIT but realized it was my fault and it had to do with the dalvik-cache. After clearing it and installing JIT, those problems went away. However I was still unable to get JIT working 100%. Everything seemed to work fine until I started up Google Navigation, and then as soon as it locked onto a satellite the Milestone rebooted by itself. (EDIT: It's probably an overclocking issue, I had VSEL=56 with 1GHz; turning it up to 62 seems to have fixed it)
Audio bug doesn't seem to happen anymore. I did notice, however, at one point the audio played for a fraction of a second while doing some file browsing.... It was probably the bug trying to show up + the fix trying to suppress it. No big deal, as long as it's not too loud when it happens in public ;-)
yeah it happens.
I think it was a quick and dirty fix for it. Unfortunately only applicable to the stock Music app. Any other media app will auto play still
Sprint HTC Hero
DarchDroid v2.8
Recovery: RA-Darchstar (v1.7... I think)
PRL: 60667
I bought this phone last week, rooted it, and attempted three or four different ROMs before settling on DarchDroid (which is awesome, by the way!). I was initially having issues with multiple FCs and it eventually became unusable until I read up that my device might not be able to handle the OC to 710mhz. I installed the OC widget and throttled it down and now it works like a champ and is still WAY faster than the stock 2.1 ROM. I am still having issues though, that hopefully, somebody can help me with or point me in the right direction. I've spent the last hour scouring almost all parts of the forum and can't find any answers to these issues. Forgive me if I looked them over...
1) All incoming calls go directly to VM. I can make calls and send / receive texts, but no incoming voice calls.
The next one is a two-parter...
2a) The phone will occasionally become so sluggish (borderline non-operational) that I need to reboot it. When I do, I clear the cache and it will reboot then function normally. Could this be a result of a widget that I have installed? (OC widget, battery monitor?)
2b) When I reboot the phone without booting into recovery (normal reboot) it goes into a continuous boot loop. When I try to restore my Nandroid, it still boot loops and I have to wipe and re-flash the ROM. Is this normal?
Have you tried re-flashing the ROM? Sometimes that fixes some of these kinds of issues....occasionally a ROM install won't go perfectly and simply wiping everything then reinstalling can correct some issues.
2b) Those bootloops you're getting are almost definitely because your phone can't boot at OC speeds. Even though you've scaled down the CPU with the OC widget, that doesn't actually take effect until after the phone has already booted and gone through its start-up processes. So until then, the kernel is making the phone boot at 710 or maybe even 768mhz, which it looks like your phone can't handle. Search through the Development forum and look for one of the 691mhz kernels -- flashing that may fix these bootloops for you.
I had the same issue with the latest Fresh Rom so I ended up switching to Zen Hero and have never had a FC on an incoming call since. I tried all the fixes for Fresh and never had any luck. I would suggest trying another rom.
p.s. I was able to OC the rom also and it still works fine.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up biting the bullet and calling Sprint and it turns out all that was needed was a refresh on my account, the phone works like a champ now! I'm using the OC widget and throttled it down to 595mhz, and even OC'd that little bit, it still BLAZES when compared to the Pre that I came from. No hitches or waiting - when I open a program or app, IT ACTUALLY OPENS QUICKLY... an amazing concept!
One more question though: in case I need to reboot, is there a way to save all of my phone settings? I already moved all of my apps to the SD card so I don't have to download them again, but it would be really helpful if I could just load a save file that would re-set my settings to the way I had them before. Is there an app or setting in the ROM for that?
Make a nandroid backup through recovery. It saves every little detail of your phone and if you ever need to go back to that you can simply restore that backup. Titanium Backup is another popular tool but I've never used it myself so I don't know anything about it.
Hello there,
So, I installed JPM, Root and CFLagfix with Autokiller. Everything works to my liking, and is snappy enough for me until Voodoo comes out.
But here is my prolem, and since this is a phone, it is a big problem.
I can make calls out no problem with great reception, and great call quality. But as soon as my phone recives a call, it vibrates once, and then I see a forced close, and I guess the dialer is crashing. The caller just gets one ring tone, and then they get hung up on as well. I get a notification that the network is gone, but about 1 second after I look at the notification, I get full bars again. It happens the same way every time.
Any ideas?
Edit:
I found the solution.
What I did was upgrade to Froyo, and then apply ALL my settings from Titanium back-up from my 2.1 ECLAIR back-up. I even applied system settings...and that is where the big mistake was. The two system settings aren't compatible.
So I actually went back to Android 2.1, and then used Kies to upgrade to Froyo. And I left the settings alone (and only imported apps from titanium), and everything works perfectly.
And I am digging this Froyo (with CFRoot and CF Lagfix)...it is as good as My 2.1 rooted and lagfixed, with some extra features.
Had (sometimes still have) almost the same problem, mostly on JPK. Since i flashed to JP6 its better.
Sometimes when i make or receive calls the phone apk crashes and the phone turns offline mode on by itself.
Dont know why.
I'm also experiencing this problem. Did you guys restore backups before it occured? I think it might has something to do with some theme that may not be supported in Froyo?
Really looking for an answer, cause this sucks!
I have an HTC pure, running Energy Rom, SPB mobile shell 3.5.5, and XDAndroid.
Here are my questions.
1. XD Android keyboard is t9 and in japanese. I dwnld'd gineger bread keyboard, which didnt change the look at all. (yes, I am sure i had it installed and set up in settings correctly.) So what IME can I use to replace annoying japanese keyboard? Which also has no option to close keyboard (hard key back button works, but will often close app im using)
2. I can make calls, and recieve them, but THERES NO SOUND! no in call volume, period, adjusted every setting I can find. checked my startup .txt file, added suggested controll lines, no change.
3. Sleep button (remapped to end key) works about 10% of the time, only when turning screen off is it 100%, getting screen back on, is a crap shoot. why is this? buttons light up, dim in and out, but no screen response, have to hit it a bajillion times, to get a response, and sometimes the old on/off/power button (top) will turn screen on... and my LED is going nuts, back and forth from yellow to orange, constantly.. I read nearly 25+ pages of the XD android thread, no help there...
4. No droid on boot, Seems I have to boot android from the haret.exe starter, everytime I want droid running, why doesn't it boot with phone?
5. No SD card, I have on in, and its got all my droid related files on the root, but no app 2 sd b/c it doesn't read the card as being mounted.
6. live backgrounds, animated backgrounds arent working either? could be just the device, but idk anything about this..
7. what is the processor speed on a pure, and what is overclocking, what does it do, and should i pursue this with spb, windos 6.5 etc running..?
8. If I can get froyo on my winmo pure, why cant I get it on my aria? and what can you do to an aria? seems like nothing... stupid att?
9. is there a way to speed up android on my pure? should I wipe my phone clean, flash a low ram using rom, and then re install droid?
10. every so often when in market, phone reverts to flying droids spelling xdandroid, and gets looped there. wtf.
It's a big set of issues, hope help is on the way, also, I have searched, ad searched, so please, if you have nothing relavent to offer me in response to my questions, just leave.
Okay, fixed they keyboard issue, but it wont set a keyboard other than the stock one to default, I have to change it every time I type, or select a text box.
Annoying but an improvement.
Still not recognizing my SD card, and the camera isnt working period, been through multiple kernels, fx03 fx02, tried several command lins in my image text.
Still nothing.
Call issue seems to beback and forth, had my g/f call me sitting on the couch, and the call had sound, went through perfect. Went outside, and nothing, n o ring, no nothing, and went to voicemail on her end. visa versa, when I her phone rang, and connected, still no sound. seems to have a 1 in 5-8 sucess rate..
and still having issues with turning on the screen, once off, it takes several try's and multiple button clicks to get any response. Just led flickering and lots of dimming/lighting buttons.
all in all however, the look on my ATT store rep. when i whipped out my PURE, set it next to my aria, and said, "pure has froyo, aria is eclair" he about ****.. "how do you have froyo on a winmo phone??"
Magic
Thanks XDA, you guys are awesome! (plus with my windows rom running i have tehering for wi-fi router, and ability to side load apps into android on here makes it about 10X cooler than my aria, now if only stability, performance, and a better touchscreen, were factors..
Lastly, what can I do about the hardware issues, I realise the Pure must not have a very fast CPU, and WTF is over clocking and what are it's pro's cons'?
Seriously,o one can say anything about this after over one hundred views... wow guys, just wow.
I am right there with you. :/

**This could be used as a bump.**
This is a common problem between FroyoMod, CM6 and Chronos.
Whenever i make a call, i hear 2 secs, then the audio stops for 2 secs, then it comes back, and so.
Sometimes it's like when there is poor signal, it makes that bizarre breaking-overlapping sound, but the signal is very good, it's not the problem.
In FroyoMod if i re-flash the phone mod (modified phone apk) it works for the first boot, but if i reboot it wont work again.
In Stock Rom it works fine.
It's like a problem with crystalTalk, but the moded phone does not have crystal talk, so i don't know what to do to keep the phone working as a phone.
Once it fixed applying another overclock settings, lower values and normal voltage, but now it doesn't helps to any better even with stock clocks.
It's annoying because i have to decrypt what i'm hearing when talking to other people.
I really need help with this, can't post it on the roms threads because i don't have privileges.
Happening with CM7 too =(
don't you have data enabled?
I think it happen to me when I have a data transfer and recieve/initiate a call ... like having a non properly cleaned buffer ...
No, data not enabled, i don't even have a data plan, so i live wi-fi based, at work, school and home i have wi fi so i don't really need a data plan.
I did the same as before, wiped data caches before flashing, flashed chronos 1.9.0, it seemed to work, wiped data and caches, and then flashed froyomod, and it seems to work now.
It may habe something to do with the temperature of the phone? Today i did everything placing the phone over a frozen gel so it was cool and it worked at the first time, last time with the flashing, rebooting, etc, the phone was warm like after playing a heavy game.
