Does anyone know where to look purchase the stock faceplate/bezel on the Verizon xv6800? Its the dark blue cover.
If not stock, just a different faceplate. I just don't want a snap on case...I was trying to replace the stock one.
Thanks!
Im with him, looking at the same replacement faceplate for my phone
The japanese website www.cnn.cn has them instock here is the link $79.99 a little steep, I'd just destroy the phone and claim it oon the insurance for $50. The cool thing is they have it in 2 different colors for Verizon the original dark blue and the black so if you dont like blue you can change it. They also have the Telus version in Silver but I dont think the buttons are the same on that one.

I've purchased different housings for different phones through them before. They are very good, shipping takes a few extra days about 1 week due to it coming from Japan. I recommend them though, never had a problem.
Are these hard for a novice user to put on...do I need a technician.

Ok has anyone managed to find these out there on the interwebz? I see a lot of postings on ebay, but they look like they won't fit the MyTouch. I ordered one for an HTC Magic.... I forgot that they have different mobos sadly, and it doesn't fit the mytouch, some holes and slots are on opposing sides. All the ones that I've looked at seem to be the same as well.
this docomo one looks really close. what do you think????

I've always wanted to get the silver buttons for the ion version. Would the buttons from the magic housings on ebay fit in the mytouch?
Hi
Has anyone seen a black casing for the kaiser, the plastic which has htc written on, i want the front to be black rather than grey.
I'm thinking of getting replacement plastics for it, its in terrible cosmetic condition.
Thanks
Is this wat you're looking for?
Searching for housing instead of casing did the job for me.

That one shows a grey/silver front in the picture.
Other than some unofficial knockoff from some place in China, via Ebay (which looked really badly produced), I haven't seen any other all black housings around. There is always the option to use the all black aluminium case of course, which makes it even thicker.

search on ebay. they have available parts for shipping that are way cheaper than the ones on the site posted earlier.
I've been searching for a while, i've tried ebay but i've never found anything apart from the original grey front
I've found vinyl stickers, maybe i can find a black one

Most people are searching for replacement parts. There are very few " customized " parts for these phones, as they are $500 disposable items. There is no market for customizing something that is going to be yesterday's technology in less than a year.

i beg to differ..when it comes to technology of these mobiles, oppose to cosmetics and maybe software,..it's more like every 3 years. Now, as technology progresses so will the speed of advancement. The kaiser is 2006 Technology, and just now are we seeing truely new chipsets (not just a smaller chip and bump to 528 mhz) like most modern android phones today oppose to our device. So we are currently on the wave of new mobile technology..so in a way ur right and wrong, it looks like the next year or so will be wat you said especially if you just bought a phone..and for some one like me who has had a kaiser for couple years it will be nothing but a routine upgrade
Ok, so I wanted the damn Fender edition MyTouch 3G, but I had to nag a certain boyfriend to get off his butt and order it (since our T-Mobile account is in his name) for weeks, and by the time I got him to do it it was out of stock.
I've been watching ebay, but new in box ones go for $300-400, and that's a bit steep for me. However, I saw someone selling the Fender edition housing and chassis and shipping from Hong Kong, and T-Mobile is selling the MyTouch 3.5mm for $50 with contract at the moment, so I figured what the hell, I'd trade in my old Wing (Which has been acting flaky for a while now) and get a standard MyTouch 3G 3.5mm version, get the Fender housing, and voila, I have the phone I want!
So I've gone ahead and ordered both and only now realized I don't know for sure how to do the replacement.
I know there are threads about Magic housing replacements, but the Magic and the MyTouch have different housings. I'm assuming the MyTouch 3.5mm should work perfectly with the Fender edition housing since the 3.5mm is basically the Fender edition without the Fender branded housing.
But has anyone done this specific replacement? Is there a walk through or video somewhere?

if your boyfriend is to lazy to drive to t-mobile then he is gonna be to lazy to swap the housings, and if you attempt it yourself you'll probably break the phone so your you should just stick to the phone you got from t-mobile and not swap them.
I'm not sure why you would think I intended to have my boyfriend do the replacement. I intend to do it myself, and have from the beginning.
My housing still hasn't arrived, but it should do so soon. The seller gave a shipping time estimate of 7-15 business days. When I do the replacement I will take pictures and post a walkthrough, since no one else seems to have done so. I build my own computers, and have done some electronics work (I fixed my DVD player when one of the capacitors in its internal power supply died, by desoldering and removing the old capacitor and soldering in an equivalent replacement) so I figure I can probably handle this.

ok well good luck on the screen. let me know how it works out for ya.
Seems like you are a tech geeky gf. Anyway, just buy a set of security screw mini bit set. Cause for the phone on most smart phone uses either mini or macro security screws. Get a set from home depot. What I am worry is, I ran across two interior hardware setup for both fenders and mytouch 3.5mm edition while cleaning the interior of my phones. (Got a ass sister like to drop in washing machines ).
What I meant is, your case you order maybe off set on some screw holes or just do no fit.
You might notice those housing are not Genuine housing partz. Maybe more flimsy and break easier.
sent from myTouch 3g 1.2 using XDA app
Well, as you can see here:

The kit comes with a set of tools, which I'm assuming should cover things. Otherwise I do have a bunch of electronics screwdrivers laying around somewhere. Honestly from the looks of the kit and how complete it is (Assuming it's not just a total scam) my guess is that whatever company in China or Taiwan they have producing service kits for T-Mobile is selling them out the back door.
It could be a cheap knock-off of course, but it doesn't seem to be. I guess I'll see when it comes, along with whether or not the screw holes line up. At worst I can always rebay it, and it was only $27 anyway. I think I can download a service manual for my phone from T-Mobile that includes disassembly and re-assembly instructions.
And yes I'm something of a geek, or at least I'm good with my hands. I make furniture. Since all the nice custom OEM docking stations and car docks for the MyTouch seem to have long since sold out and been discontinued, I'm thinking of getting a block of burl wood of some sort, and a set of mini USB connectors, and carving my own. It would match the dash in my Town & Country better that way anyway. Plus if the design worked out I could sell them

not trying to be mean, but you do understand how it works swapping out the housings?
it'll be easy taking the back part off, after that the screen will not be easy, and really time consuming if even possible. there is a digitizer glued onto the housing, so unless your capable of removing the digitzer successfully, and reapplying it in working order i wouldn't suggest it.
Well, several other people have posted that they have swapped their housings successfully, so I'm hopeful.
Finished a couple days ago (Been having too much fun with it to post about it). It wasn't very hard. Only separating the screen from the faceplate was even a little bit tricky, and that was no big deal.
The sapphire service manual PDF from HTC that you can find on these forums is all you need, and most of the steps on it aren't even needed.
I was going to make a walkthrough, but when I went to take it apart I realized my phone is my only camera, and I didn't want to wait for my boyfriend to get home from work so that I could use his phone.
The only real annoyance was that the housing kit I got from ebay didn't have the little clear plastic piece that goes across the hole in the battery cover that the camera snaps pictures through, or the mesh looking thing that covers the speaker port. But I got out my hobby knife kit, which had a tool in it that was perfect for peeling those things off my old battery cover, and the adhesive from that stuck to the new battery cover fine, so that took care of that.
Oh, if anyone wants a stock black MyTouch 3G faceplate and battery cover, I'll sell 'em cheap
Hope to see at least pics, I'd love to do this on my 1.2 as well, dirt and dust is too easy to see on my stock black housing xD
Hey guys,
I'm selling my D Inc. It's in pretty good shape, but the back cover is cracked.
I've been looking on eBay but I see them starting at > $10. I think this is just a little steep, ya know?
Do you guys know where I can get a HTC looking one; or just something that would work. I'm likely to sell it via Craigslist.
The only other thing that's wrong with it, is that the red bit where you put your ear up to has faded a little. But, I guess this is the thing with selling used phones.. hehe.
Hoping to get as much as I can for it on eBay or the likes.
They've got battery covers for the Dinc on amazon for 2.99. You can also try calling your local verizon stores. They might have some left on clearance. I bought mine from the big red store for 2.99
Found this one on Amazon, here ya go: http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Droid-Inc...YMB4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319912226&sr=8-1
