problem accessing recovery on rom 2+ - Legend Android Development

I have a problem with accessing recovery from PC. Everything was fine before I changed the rom. Before I used rodigezstyle rom V2.3 I could access recovery (step2-windows.bat) now, after I changed rom to RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_47.39.35.09_7. 08.35.21_release_130330_signed I cant get into it. If I'm in boot loader and check "adb devices" It detects my phone, but when I'm go to recovery screen (black screen with exclamation mark) I check again the "adb devices" then it doesn't detect.
So I'm wondering if you guys have the same problem. But please tell me only if you are on rom 2+. Cos my theory is that roms 2+ have different bootloader.

IIRC I read on Modaco some weeks ago that 2.x come with a new bootloader. But there is a method to downgrade it already.

[Q] Help: Unrooted Nexus Fails To Boot

Hi Guys,
I have a rooted HTC Hero so am familiar with rooting Android etc.
I said I'd help a colleague out with a problem on her newly purchased Nexus One but I'm struggling. When you turn it on, it doesn't actually boot up - the static X (not the animated one) just sits there indefinitely. We've left it for ages and it doesn't do anything at all.
The only progress I have managed to make so far is to unlock the bootloader through "fastboot oem unlock". I've since tried copying some stock N1 ROMs onto the SD Card and tried getting them to install through the Bootloader/Hboot screen as passimg.zips. They're recognised and the blue progress bar runs but it always fails.
I also don't seem to be able to get adb access to the device. "adb devices" returns no results and "adb shell" obviously says "device not found".
I've also tried writing amon_ra's recovery to the device via fastboot and while it sends it fine, it fails to write (remote: image update error).
I'm assuming the last two points are because usb debugging isn't enabled (can't boot it to do so) and it isn't rooted.
Is there some way I can get a ROM flashed onto this that will boot to allow me to root it and then install the custom recovery and a ROM of my choice?
If it makes any difference, the model should be a UK Vodafone one. One of the passimg.zips I've tried has been PASSIMG_Passion_Google_WWE_1.01.1700.1_ERD79_release_signed.zip, which I read is the one to downgrade Vodafone N1's to but it failed.
Any help at all will be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
Just a quick update about the passimg.zip failures...the error message is "main version is older"
Have also just tried a "fastboot boot recovery.img" (where recovery.img is a renamed amon_ra)...it downloaded fine and kicked off a reboot but it didn't actually boot into the recovery image at all...it remains at the static X screen (with unlocked padlock).
Have now tried a stock FRF91 as passimg.zip and this time it didn't error at the end. Instead it just returned to the menu after checking the passimg and didn't prompt me to apply etc...
Look here and download the PASSIMG.zip from the second post. put in root of sd .This will pass the "Older rom version" But it will downgrade you to EPE76.
If everything works out good. You would have EPE76 and a working N1. but you will need to download FRF85B. http://www.mediafire.com/?j5zejudgngm. rename that to update.zip. put into root of sd. boot into stock recovery. once you see triangle and android hold power and hit volume up. You will then see the recovery menu. Select apply update.zip. if its an success you will have FRF85B. Then just go to settings>system updates and search for FRF91 update.
Thanks for the reply. EPE76 is one of the ones I recently tried but even though it passes the check, it doesn't seem to apply. I don't get an option to apply and rebooting results in the static X again.
Earlier I managed to successfully apply amon_ra's recovery through fastboot. Apparently. The text in my command prompt said it was successful but attempting to boot into recovery from the bootloader menu presents me with the same static X.
I really don't understand what's going on with this thing.
I've now downloaded EPE76 in its original img component format from modaco and flashed boot, system, and userdata onto the three partitions separately using fastboot. System took three attempts but succeeded eventually.
Despite now having what should be EPE76 forced onto it, it still refuses to boot, giving me only the static X again.
I'm running out of ideas here. Does anyone have any suggestions at all?
Anybody? (bump)
I'm assuming she bought it used (because if it's new you would have took it back). From what I know, it sounds like a radio flash gone bad
I hope I'm wrong though.

ROM doesn't start, recovery fails, fastboot not recognized by PC

Today I tried to change ROM in my G1. With that I also wanted to change SPL and recovery. It was my first conact with flashing that phone. I flashed Samsung i7500 before, so I have some Android experience.
Recovery and SPL went OK. When I was flashing ROM, something has gone wrong, so I decided to restore nandroid backup I made before flashing new ROM. When I restored backup, system didn't load. It stops on "Android" text or on black screen. Recovery also got lost (I don't know how) - now I can see only picture with triangle and "!" sign.
First thought I have was to use fastboot to flash new recovery and have it working. But there is my problem - when I enter fastboot mode, PC doesn't see any new device. There is no difference in device manager when phone is connected or not. When I turn phone on normally (so system's stops loading on Android text), it's recognized by PC.
Have anybody had such problem? What should I do to restore recovery or flash working rom?
What ROM u trying to flash? Some ROMs need some base files. You can even install a new Recovry Image through Recovery Console. Thats what I did
OK, What SPL you have right now...
Once you flash new SPL, old nandroid might not work properly as the partition layout has been changed....
Let us know the SPL you have now, sometimes if the phone is not getting recognized..then you have some old driver installed, try to see if that's the issue...

I have installed haykuro SPL as I remember right.
I tried to update SDK and its USB drivers, but no result.
I remember also, that "USB debugging" wasn't on - maybe that's why phone in fastboot isn't recognized on PC?
To be clear: when I plug USB cable in fastboot mode, PC doesn't show that there is some new device. It acts like no device was connected to it.
There are other new and safe method to achieve the same or more then what you are trying to achieve with Haykuro SPL...see here..Custom MTD
But anyhow you are stuck with it...when you say Phone is not getting recognized..try restarting the phone in fastboot mode while connected to PC...when you are pressing back button are you getting fastboot..
I am not a good person to suggest something on this...If I would have been in your place I would have flashed DREAMIMG.nbh file and would have started from start....but wait till somebody better will tell you how to recover the device....

G1sanju, I don't know what to say!
You saved my phone
Flashing DREAMIMG.nbh helped, phone has booted
OK, I have a new problem now.
Recovery is still not working - I have Android 1.0 in phone.
Fastboot is still not recognized by PC, so I can't flash it. I don't have root, so I can't flash recovery by terminal - is there any Android 1.0 root instruction?
Or maybe DREAIMG.nbh of 1.5 or 1.6 ROM?
EDIT:
Now everything works, I flashed recovery using telnet.
DREAMIMG.nbh is an default image for G1, so it remove root access and leave the phone with the stock image...now you have 1.x radio and stock SPL...flashing haykuro SPL right now can brick your phone....
unlocker.com has some good guide to get the root access if you are looking for it....
Do not flash the Haykuro SPL or DangerSPL......That's of no use now....also there are chances that it can brick your phone....
Use Safe SPL...1.33.2003 those are full engineering SPL with fastboot access....
use CustomMTD to get the increase size as mentioned in my post above...

I installed recovery via telnet, then changed radio, installed CustomMTD and ROM. All working fine.
Its great that you have used customMTD rather then Haykuro SPL...this is safe method....I just warned you because that's a very common way to brick the phone....flashing NBH and then installing SPL assuming you have the correct radio is a very common way of bricking the phone...
Also if you are playing with SPL and radio's then its advisable to erase the recovery first...then do the install from fastboot and then reinstall recovery...

[Q] Rooting HTC one MAX

Hello all together,
i end up here because i could not find any other Resolution on the net to get a rooting working ! So perhaps someone can give me an advise on this !?
I am working now since a week on this problem to get my HTC on Max rooted but nothing seem to work, several downloads from the net and studi all of the existing Youtube videos with al lot of houres of trying and working on this.
What i have:
HTC one Max with 4.3 date 27.11.2013 and htc sense 5.5, 11GB with 32 GB SD (in the monent no Sim installed)
What i already did with success:
Aktivated Developers mode and USB Debugging (get adb Device and fastboot device to see my phone in PROMPT)
Under Powersettings Disabled "FASTBOOT"
Unblocked the Bootloader, so i see in the fastboot of the phone in the first lines the Information *TEMPERED* and in the seconfd line *UNBLOCKED* so that means that all this work is done O.K. without any Problems also to flash offcorse the right ROM image.
(this i did with the Prompt fastboot method: fastboot flash recovery ......img, then fastboot clear cache).
Copyed the SU to Root of Phone to make then after recoveryrestard the root. -Latest Verion-
So here now the Problem where i stuck since some days and Nights without any resolution:
After all done (up mentioned) i go with Vol Down and Power to fastboot and choose the second line Recovery and confirm with Powerbutton (after a while the phone suppose to enter into the recovery so that i could choose the SU-ZIP - the normal way), but now the Phone reboots into white screen and shows on top Pink line like Phone Recovery (this all still looks good), then nothing happens (where it supose to start after that my rom to enter and choose the SU-ZIP).
It just turns off after a while to black screen and reboots normaly like i turn the phone on up into the normal Phone-Desktop !
So it was not entering into the recovery and with this i could not start the SU-ZIP, so the phone is not rooted.
Thanks for any help and sugesstion (sorry for my bad english)
So do you have any idear what i perhaps have maked wrong !? or do i have to downgrade the Phone perhaps to 4.2 !?

Cannot connect to fastboot through ADB

Hi guys. I've had my HTC one for a while now and it had TWRP flashed on it. About a week ago I flashed the android revolution rom, worked well but my camera went really weird if I looked back at some recordings. So I wanted to revert back to stock everything. I flashed a stock recovery for the M7, after that I had the problem of not being able to connect my device to the computer when I fastboot mode. Simply wouldn't pick it up when I typed ADB devices in cmd. My device wouldn't show up after installing stock recovery. And it doesn't want to restore any roms either in stock recovery mode. I can't even access my folders in that mode to flash any roms. I click either apply from sd card, apply from phone storage. Says for a split second check CID failed or something and reboots itself.
I cannot flash TWRP back cause my computer since it can't pick it up. I've tried everything. Changing USB ports, uninstalling my drives for htc. Changing computers, unlocking, relocking bootloader. No result. I'm screwed cause I'm stuck on this android revolution rom, rooted. Just wanna flash custom recovery. I can connect it to my computer, access folders and add things to it but soon as I turn it off and go into fastboot mode it says fastboot usb and can hear the noise when its connected but it doesn't show up in adb devices and when I flash the TWRP it starts send then comes up with FAILED. Help please, would be appreciated!

Adb only works if you'te booted to OS or custom recovery. Command you're looking for in bootloader menu is "fastboot devices"
Fala Puno. Ja sam raditi sada. I'm of Croatian decent in Australia. I'll try this later when I return home
Fixed it! I'm an idiot, I didn't realise I was flashing the m8 twrp instead of m7. That's why it failed. Lol. Anyway thanks

Htc one mini 2 stuck in startscreen - fastboot mode available.

About two months back, I rooted my htc one mini 2.
Unlocked the bootloader, installed a new recovery (This one) and finally rooted the device. I wanted to install different fonts for it, and in the process relocked the bootloader again.
Now, after several weeks of not doing anything regarding the root, my phone has errors after errors.
First, Google Play stopped working, and along with it, Youtube and the Play Store of course.
About two weeks later, even the "internet" app stopped working.
Today i wanted to start my phone only to find it stuck in the starting screen. (Looks like this)
What I want to do now is get my phone factory resetted, not rooted anymore and WORKING.
What I tried to do is get the phone into fastbood mode (this worked) and connecting it with the "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" console. (This did NOT work)
Rebooting the device from the fastboot menu did not work, it either gets stuck in the loading screen again or directly enters fastboot.
What can I do to make my phone work again?
I hope you can help me :/

Try unlocking the bootloader again.Flash the custom recovery and then flash the stock rom available in the development section. It looks like your system partition got corrupted

How can i unlock the bootloader again?
The only way i know is via the console and "fastboot oem unlock" - i cant get my phone to connect though.
The available devices the console gives me are an emulator and three times my phone, which is/are offline.
Edit:
Stupid me. "Fastboot oem devices" and it shows my phone in fastboot mode.
Next problem: "fastboot oem unlock" does not work, and flashing the recovery with "fastboot flash myrecovery.img" doesn't work either :/
Edit 2: Managed to unlock the bootloader again (mistook the android folder with de adb folder, no unlocktoken there of course)
Directly after unlocking the bootloader again, the device went into recovery mode, showed the recovery starting logo, and went black.
After turning it back on, it got stuck in the starting screen again - will have to wait for it to run out of battery.
Edit 3: Flashed the recovery, but i can't seem to find a stock rom (only one i did find is this here - and the files are down...)
Solved it!
Just did a factory reset in bootloader menu.
(I hope i didn't forget anything, since I don't know s*** about android development)
