When phone is asleep I can't skip music tracks with holding volume rocker down on Froyo Roms
Right now it only turns volume up and down with single clicks and nothing when you hold it down.
I hate turning on the screen just to skip a track.
Thanks
Guess I'm out of luck on this one
its only on cm mod bro..gots to wait til froyo source code drops me thinks
Cool thanks

Yes, I constantly accidentally hit the volume buttons. Is there an app that can lock them, so they only work after I enable them in the app?
Really? My favorite thing about the phone is that the volume buttons work when the phone sleeps. That drives me insane about every other phone/mp3 player I've used.... having to dig the phone out of my pocket and wake it up just to adjust the volume.
How are you accidentally hitting the volume buttons? Just curious.
One thing I've been wanting to request is a way to make a long-press of the volume buttons be forward/back a track. That'd rule.

Click to collapse
When I go from portrait to landscape, by the time I'm done, I see the volume change window on the screen. I don't even know if I hit the + or the -.
I have the headphones that came with the phone and all of a sudden they have started acting funny
the buttons no longer respond
sometimes you plug the headphones in and nothing works - later it starts working.
when playing music and the phone goes to sleep and you press the power button it makes the song either go back to the beginning or skip to the next song
Any advice as the power button thing is getting on my nerves
Hi guys. I am new to this forum and new to android. I have a nexus one that my friend rooted for me.......he also put cyanogen 6.0 on it. I love the phone but I am having one really annoying problem. I like to use the volume rocker to skip songs and on the nexus one I cant do that.
Does anyone know if its possible to long press the volume rocker to skip songs?
If so, can you please show me how.
thank you
well. you actually can do that. just lock your screen and press(and hold) the volume rocker. it'll skip the song.
Yeah thats right...the phone has to be locked for it to work. Does anyone know how I can port this feature to another ROM???? any help would be great.
Hi there
I got a real good time with Chimera Rom, it's amazing at its speed and responsivnes and battery life also. Only issue that I currently have with that rom is this:
When I'm playing music on headset or without it, with screen off, when I try to switch songs or increase/decrease volume, it seems to record to signals - one for PRESSING second one from LETTING button go. That's unbeareble annoying when it comes to changing music (2 tracks at time) or increasing volume.
I'm using poweramp, but problem is showing in any music players. Help please.
Any advice?

i have the same problem.
if i have the setting to skip tracks on ROM Control checked:
volume up single click : volume increases then tracks skips 1
volume up hold : track skips twice
same happens for volume down
if i dont have that feature checked in ROM control:
single click on volume up : volume increases about 4 steps
hold on volume up.. volume increases to max (which is normal)
same happens for volume down
i think there is a conflict with that ROM Control option and the settings for Skipping Tracks while screen is off on the Settings>Sound>tick Skip Tracks while screen is off. although im not sure if this is the case.
have you solved your problem?
When I have music streaming to my truck the volume is a little over half on the phone and when I turn it up it goes up the bounces right back. The first time I tried turning it up the box popped up saying the stuff about not using music too loud. Well I clicked the don't show again. Very frustrating. Notifications tones come threw loud
I am having this problem and when the screen is off the volume buttons don't skip tracks.
The largest of the two problems is the volume buttons won't skip tracks. I'm using poweramp
I use Spotify and I've never tried the volume rockers to change the track. I thought that was only a custom rom option
I haven't had this problem using Sync in my Mustang. Just had to accept the "loud stuff will hurt your ears" warning the one time.
