can anyone please port the milestone music player wid cover flow ? or better still, make the Hd2 sense music player wid cover flow ? . .. android seriously needs a better looking music player... the best looking double twist player currently is nowhere near iphone default or hd2 default player...

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there were any better music players on the market for the Hero?
Cheers.
Liam
try TuneWiki
merdian rox
Do they have EQ?
you can get audio hack files in the dream forum, not exactly an eq, but improves the stock sound quality no end.
(goes off looking)
Edit: here you are

I used v2r2 on my hero and it works a treat
mixzing lite
+1 for mixzing!
I use Tunewiki, superb. As for EQ, you'd be better getting some noise cancelling headphones.
I've been using tunewiki for the past few days. It's pretty cool, although for now I'll stick with my iPod.
I don't expect a player to rival my iPod, just something with some nice graphics and easy to use.
Hi,
I'm interested on everyone's DSP Manager & Voodoo sound setting. As we know, Nexus S is one of the Galaxy S member and our devices are using the best sound chips among PC, Tablets and smartphone a.k.a Wolfson.
Please post your setting here.
Thanks,
Melvinchng.
Here are my configurations (listen via earphone that provided in the box),

my setup is very similar to yours with the exception of poweramp with some more tweaks.Just bought some klipsch earbuds and its the best sounding combo hands down, super base with crisp treble, even found a cool app that turns the iphone controls (made for) to work like stock earbuds work.My buddy found a cool app called music fx but not sure ill have too much tweaking the same stuff so i held off on downloading it but he had me listen to 2pac heavy in the game and he made the stock earbuds beat like we had 4, 12s in a hatch back.Check out that app and give me your opinion on if its a negative or positive great post for us music freaks with the best audio chip made for cell phones

Music fx is for stock music player only... if you want to listen a better quality of music, get Google music. You will feel the music sounds better than other music player.

I have been experimenting with the stock music player and the double twist player.
While both are good, being an audiophile, I am not getting that ultimate music experience.
Please recommend some good players for music
stuck 2
I'm stuck in the same situation.
Power amp eq is pitchy and stock won't show my music.
I gave up with Poweramp on the Note,it kept stalling and refusing to play
or respond to controls.
Have since bought and use NRG player, life is good again particularly when
using my Marley earbuds.
Double twist or playerpro.

I like google music built in equaliser too
Like on my pc I like Winamp. You can download the free version to try.

My combo? double twist using the application "equalizer" from the app store set to dance and max bass booster with beat tours by Dr. dre.
I really like Mortplayer, myself. It's a folder based player which suits my preferences, too.
PlayerPro. Try the 14 days trial. It rocks.

I think..
Player pro is the best one for my taste..
For sound quality...Neutron MP.

I was using the paid version of PowerAmp, but recently, I tried Player Pro and liked that more and am going to buy that once the trial runs out.
I have the DSP packs for both and for my ears, Player Pro sounds more "open" and clear.
Power Amp sounds harsher and more compressed.
This is at the same volume levels and having a widget from each on the screen and swapping between the 2 and tweaking the EQ in each to get what sounded best to me.
Power Amp could get to a louder volume, but I don't listen to my music real loud anyway, and it started pretty bad at that level.
If I set both EQs flat and pushed the preamp up, Player Pro had a "nicer" sounding volume increase.
I have the Pre amp on both players at about halfway anyway, so I'm not pushing them to their limits.
The clearer and more open sound quality was more noticeable for me in parts that were pretty sparse and had some reverb. I could here a lot more detail in the reverb tails in Player Pro than in Power Amp.
I tested using both my bluetooth and wired headphones (just cheap TDK in ear things).
Also, in the short time I've used Player Pro, it hasn't had a problem with the BT headset controls.
With Power Amp, sometimes the BT controls don't work and I need to get the phone out and press the button on the screen. I haven't had to do that with Player Pro yet...
So at the moment, Player Pro is my favourite .
I've been using Winamp pro for a while. its got equalizer settings, there's radio presets (although kinda crap stations, nothing really to hit the spot, but good option anyway), you can download free music and stream full albums (mostly rock or indie, if your into that music, then its definitely worth it), and you can sync it with winamp on your computer to transfer songs to/from through wi-fi.
I'm using power amp pro on mine, which worked on 2.3, and now on 4.04, no lock ups or problems and sound is just fine (im no audiophile though)
I've always liked 3:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.abrantix.rockon.rockonnggl
But recently I've been using n7 because it has a really nice way of browsing your music and more DSP options:

I always liked mort player because it automatically detected if you were in a car dock and had a different UI with bigger buttons for it. Much easier to hit the right button than standard players.
N7 player is superb..give it a try

Thanks for the heads up on N7.
I've been trying it out today and I like it better than Player Pro, Power Amp and 3.
It sounds just as good as Player Pro to me, but I like the interface and options better. I just wish they had a bigger widget suited to full screen, or at least half screen on the Note.

I don't claim to be an audiophile but as the Note uses a subpar DAC by Yamaha I'm not sure you'll ever get your 'ultimate music experience'. I've only had the Note 24hrs, whilst the sound quality isn't terrible it gets blown away by my i9000, but that could just be because I haven't played around much with the settings on the Note.
You make no mention of what you're looking for in terms of music experience, are you looking for thumping bass or good soundstage? Great sound is often subjective as it's going to depend on what you're wanting to hear, the music you listen to and the IEMs, headphones or speakers you're using.
I'd try a few of the apps which come with a free trial and come with a decent equalizer/DSP, only you can find the experience you're looking for. I've tried most of the apps as other posters have recommended and would suggest you give a few a try, spend a couple of hours chilling out listening and playing with the settings.
I been using poweramp but after so many recommendations I gave n7 and playerpro a try. For me n7 was so sluggish I could barely make selections, I'm not sure if this was due to the number of music files that I had? (about 1000 songs)
As for playerpro I do like the clarity of the sound over poweramp especially when I'm using headset but no matter what I did I could not achieve good bass. Tried to adjust equalizer setting just made sound more pitchy and less bass...
In the end I just decided to use poweramp since I use it in the car most of the time. Just set it bass/treble boost and it sounds great for me.
P.s. For those of you who uses playerpro, how do you have it set up?

Today I'm going to shortlist some Music Players and Video Players which are supported with Nexus 6 and device with running Lollipop and will also discuss pros and cons of some of them
Music Player:
1. Power AMP: This is the most balanced music player available till now. It can deliver the PERFECTLY BALANCED BASS The equalizer is much effective. Another advantage of it is that it has many themes to choose from. Some are paid and some are free. It'll fully compatible with lollipop so there will be no crash of the app. And it's dirt cheap. You get 7 days of free trial and then you'll have to purchase the unlocker
Link: 1. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer
2. Full version unlocker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer.unlock
2. JetAudio Plus: This music player is mainly targeted towards the common people who is not too much serious about the audio but it doesn't mean that it's bad. It's the second best music player available on google playstore. I'll always ask everyone to purchase the plus version as this music player is not that effective with the two plug-ins it comes with (plug-ins are available to purchase through IAP) which are AM3D Audio Enhance and Bongiovi DPS. AM3D is a great plug-in which actually control the audio out-put of your taste and with Bongivoi DPS you can switch between different headphone's audio drivers. Though it's costly but it worth the price tag. Last but not the least, if you're using Pebble SmartWatch then it can be great addition for you because it has Pebble watch support
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jetappfactory.jetaudioplus
3. Google Play Music: As a free music player it prove itself as a great musicplayer, always
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.music
4. Musixmatch music & lyrics: A great music player with material design and tinted statusbar and great for those who want the Lyrics of their songs. Please note that for lyrics, the meta data of the audio file should be correct or else it'll fail to show the lyrics.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.musixmatch.android.lyrify
5. Neutron Music Player: This is a balanced music player. It can deliver very balanced bass. Worth trying
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.neutroncode.mp
Other:
Player Pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tbig.playerpro
DoubleTwist Player (New): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.doubleTwist.androidPlayer
Video Player:
1. VLC for Android beta: Don't go by the term 'Beta'. It's a beast while playing video. If your device is capable enough to run the video file, it'll make sure that the video runs in buttery smooth FPS.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.videolan.vlc.betav7neon
2. MX Player Pro: It's a great video player with all video format supported. get the pro version to remove the add and some pro features
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.pro
3. KMPlayer: Another video player with all video format supported
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kmplayer
PS: To test the audio out-put through headphones I've used AudioTechnica ATH M50 and Sennheiser CXC 700. Please note that audio quality mainly depends on the audio driver (hardware based) of your device and also on the out-put device you're using, such as headphones and portable speakers.
Please do press the "Thanks" button if this thread has helped you

And also try JetAudio Plus. It'll never disappoint you. But you'll have to use this with those 2 plug-ins
Why you show no love to playerpro... lol

Thanks for the helpful information.
Also worth noting is that yesterday I needed to play an MKV video file with AC3 audio and MX Player did not support the audio. I didn't download the pro version but it looks like this is a known issue with MX right now. VLC worked flawlessly. So looks like for the time being VLC is the go to until some plugin support gets worked out if you have need of AC3 playback.

It isn't a known problem, MX Player was forced to remove the AC3 audio codec due to licensing problems. To workaround this, download the custom codec.
See, http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/1...c3-and-mlp-audio-codecs-workaround-available/

and then your mkv, AC3 audio videos will work the same before. VLC is great though. It's my go-to player on the desktop but on Android, I prefer MX Player.

Didn't know that. I'll have to check out the workaround because I'm in the same boat, like MX Player a little better than VLC on Android but they are both great.
I can't believe nobody uses Shuttle player, I hardly ever hear it mentioned...by far the best music player to me, great UI, nice eq and sound quality, gapless playback (which is huge cause I listen to a lot of live music), no ads, very smooth...

VLC is the best so far. As far as I know MX player had to terminate AC3 codec due to some license codec.

Did you actually listen to the sound, or just look at it? Not great to look at but side by side with any of the others it blows them out of the water sound with sound quality. I don't work for them or anything, I'm just impressed with how much better it sounds. I'm mainly concerned with the quality over bluetooth in my car, so maybe with headphones its a different story.

Hi all,
Just bought this lovely phone and i wonder is there any good recommendation audio player for Note 8 besides Play Music?
Regards,

Give Phonograph a go. It looks absolutely gorgeous and it is really well designed.
You can always use Samsung's own stock player. It's clean and works flawlessly.
Poweramp works fine
I've been using Poweramp too, no complaints
Try Jet Audio Plus and is much powerful then others as has enhancements plug-ins ( Paid) and really make difference in sound.
Thanks all!
