Is there any way to customize the vibration length for sms notifications? I've used sms popup to do it in the past but thats the only feature of the app I use and its a waste to run a whole process for just one silly little feature like that...

Is there a way to make the phone vibrate once instead of 3 times when an sms message is received?
Can anyone help with turning it off from SMS's ? I have a cooked rom with Voice Commander so I don't want it vibrating too. I have my Ring Type set to Ring although I sure someone will say that the ringer settings have nothing to do with SMS's

I think it's set to that considering that if a phone call is received it'll vibrate once and for a long time. Which to me, is useful to distinguish a call from a text.
I know of no software that could modify though...
It's OK, I found the option box in the Sounds and Notifications settings to have vibrate on or off for the New Text Notification

Is there an app that i can change the vibrate pattern for SMS/MMS/Gmail
I tried DG Alert Classic....but... This app makes its own notifications for the top bar. And requires you to dissable the one in the messages app. This is find and dandy BUT it only will display the phone number instead of the contact name and it wont follow it with the actual txt like the stock notification does.
I tried Missed Reminder....but... This is more of just a reminder app so that it will keep vibrating every sayyyyy 5min till you look at your txt.
I want a app that pretty much just edits the vibrate pattern (it will probably also offer to change the LED pattern/color h/e ive found none of thoes work for the slide)
NM. I found and DLed "Smart Vibrator" and it did the trick
Umm,i the LED noti not been working??
Is it possible to change the vibrate pattern for SMS messages without having to use a 3rd party SMS app such as Handcent? I am quite fond of the built in TouchWiz lockscreen that works notifications and have noticed that it doesnt support handcent. It's hard to tell the difference between calls and spam text haha (Also is quite loud when it is a long vibrate rather than 2 short vibrates)

I second this. I've the same issue. I hate how long the phone vibrates, and I'm using the AOSP mms.apk. even though you can select short there, it still vibrates like 6 times :\
Is there any consensus on recommendations for an app to customize vibration alerts?
People at work have the same phone, and I can't tell one vibrate alert from another. I tried to set the Vibration Pattern, but that only applies to the cell ringer; not to message, email, app alerts.
I'd be happy to just update the default vibration pattern, but it'd be ideal to set the pattern based on the app so I can tell email apart from text messages.
Hi guys. I just switched from Apple land and trying to get used to the Android ecosystem since I've been using iPhones since the iPhone 4.
The biggest pain point for me is getting a handle on the notifications. Apple gave you a lot less control over what you see so I'm a bit overwhelmed with the amount of control for SOME apps (I guess it depends on how granular the developer makes it for the users).
My current obstacle is receiving notifications while in an active call. I spend most of my work day in meetings so it's important to see notifications showing up in real time. When I'm on a call the notifications are causing a vibration or alert but there is no popup to indicate which one just came in. When I slide down the notification center I don't think the notifications are sorted by date/time so I have no idea which one just came in.
1) is there a way to force notifications to pop up on screen even when I'm on a call so I can glance at what it's about?
2) is there a way to sort notifications based on date/time so I can make sure the topmost one is the most recent?
3 bonus round) does anyone have a good solution for more iOS like notification bar that looks less congested and confusing (this is one of the only things I miss about iOS)
Thanks.
