Simple ADW Launcher question - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I add extend the dock to add more Icons.

You simply drag more shortcuts down to it. The dockbar will only ever display 6 shortcuts, you can see the rest by dragging the dockbar right or left.
Note that the dockbar is not the left/right action buttons next to the app drawer button, it's the bar that comes up when you swipe the drawer button up.

[Q] Desktop Visualizer & ADW

In the newest ADWLauncher you can create a shortcut to the App Drawer much like creating any other shortcut - long-press the screen, select 'custom shortcut', 'custom activity', 'launcher actions.'
Using Desktop Visualizer you can create a shortcut to almost anything EXCEPT the ADW option does NOT show up in the shortcut list. Even when I click "other" in Desktop.V.
Anyway around this? I'm theming and using the 1x1 widget b/c it makes the icons larger than standard shortcuts. Everything is great except this!
Bump this.
I also want to know, any one?

Another bump
It annoying isn't it, something so simple and its no an option.
But I have figured out away to do it.
1. Add a shortcut to open the app draw in the normal way.
2. Place the icon in the location you want it
3. Long press on the app draw icon and change the icon to a completely transparent icon.
4. Now create the desktop visualizer widget/shortcut in the normal way but when you choose action select none.
5. Make sure in adw setting you have overlap Widgets ticked.
6. Move your desktop Visualizer shortcut so it is just above the transparent icon that will open the app draw.
7. Long press the desktop Visualizer shortcut, select edit and the resize it so it completely covers than transparent icon. I would recommended keeping the desktop Visualizer shortcut 1x1.
8. In adw settings hit restart adw and you should be good to go, the app draw icon should be on top of the desktop Visualizer shortcut.
Hope this works for you because it does work for me

[Q] Webpage shortcuts on homescreen?

I'm using Zeam for a launcher and would like webpage shortcuts on my homescreen. When I hold down, select add item > shortcut, it kicks me out to the homescreen. Anyway to enable this on a nook color?

App drawer button is missing from home screen!!!

The slider row on the bottom of the home screen usually contains three icons for Phone, Apps, and Browser. For some reason, the Apps icon on my slider got replaced with the Google Talk icon, so now I can't access my apps from the slider. I think what happened is last night I removed the Talk icon from my home screen and instead of dragging it up to the trash I dragged it down towards the slider.
Does anyone know how to recover the apps icon and put it back on the slider?
Running ADW Launcher?
Go to its settings, change the assignment.
If your using launcher pro, just longpress on the icon that is where your app drawer should be and a box will pop up and it should say change shortcut.
Hope that fixes your problem.

OP is using ADW for sure. Had the same "problem" yesterday.
Longpress the Homescreen and choose "Open App Drawer Shortcut" or something like that.
Now move the icon down to the dock
It's under custom shortcut...

Fixed. Thanks all!

Desktop visualizer launching app drawer/alternative

So, I've got a desktop full of images that I use as icons through the use of Desktop Visualizer. My whole screen (apart from dock) is filled with these images and I kind of wanted to get rid of the dock and replace it with one of these icons.
I found a solution to making the dock disappear through the use of ADW Launcher which allows you to hide the dock. It's not ideal since I would've preferred to use Nova Launcher (I'm on CM9 and I love Nova Launcher) but it has no option to hide/disable the dock (in fact, ADW Launcher is the only launcher that I've found with this option).
Anyway, now that the dock is gone, I can use it for widgets (which is basically how Desktop Visualizer works) however Desktop Visualizer does not allow you map "App Drawer" as an action. So basically all this effort has been for nothing unless I can find a way to map the icon to App Drawer.
Another thing I considered was a launcher/dock that allowed you to use custom sized icons for actions (most launchers only allow you select a certain sized icon to replace the default) but I couldn't find anything.
I've tried to search both XDA and Google but couldn't find anything useful.
TL;DR - Need Desktop Visualizer alternative or a way to map one of the widgets to act as app drawer icon.
Thanks in advance.
I need help with this too. Any ideas?
The only way I managed to do this in the past was to use a normal icon and the widget, and overlap them. (In ADW settings there is the option to allow overlapping.)
First insert the app drawer icon (Press hold > launcher actions > Open/Close app Drawer)
Insert your Desktop Visualizer widget, select the icon image, and set the action to none. Then press and hold on it, and using the re-size arrows drag it under the app drawer icon.
Finally press and hold on the app drawer icon, and change the icon to a transparent (empty) image.
You have to insert the app drawer icon first, as that makes it on top.
Its a pretty crude way of doing it, but I don't think there is another way, although I would happily be corrected if there is!
Or you could possibly just put the icon on your wallpaper then use a transparent icon.
In that way, you could have many possibilities in theming your desktop.

[Q] Default Lockscreen widgets in 4.2.2

Hi all,
after we add a lockscreen widget to the screen, we will need to swipe left or right to see it right?
is there someway to set a lockscreen widget as default, so you can see the default lockscreen immediately instead of sliding right or left?

Yes.
When on the lockscreen, press and hold just below the clock widget & slide down so that you see the full panel on the screen.
Swipe left to find the panel containing the widget that you want as default.
Long press the required panel and drag it to the right so that it is placed in front of the panel containing the clock widget.
This is now your default lockscreen widget.
