Trying that now .. hope that works . If it doesnt can nTelos push something to my phone ?

That didnt work either . Under "Mobile network" is just says "Standby for connecting to mobile network" ?

I know this sounds elementary, but sometimes a standard reboot will cure that.

Ive tried that many many many times

I have now flashed new rom Fresh Toast v2.1 and still no internet .. this has to be something simle ...

Come on peeps .... there has to be more here

Come on guys , I really need some help with this . Anyone gets it right I will send $$ via paypal . Thats how bad I need this up .

C&P from a post I made a while back trying to help someone. I had the exact same Turning On issue and this is what fixed mine. I'm not with nTelos but another non sprint carrier.
I had to compare/correct settings in the EPST menu with another HERO from my carrier. To access the menu dial ##778# I think the password for edit mode is your MSL mine was 6 zeros yours may be the same. View Mode will not show the Security section info. The settings that finally did the trick for me are below
Security Section
HDR AN Auth User ID
(LONG)
[email protected]
HDR AN Auth Password ID
xxxx
PPP User ID
[email protected]
PPP Password

M.IP Default Profile Section

The HDR AN Auth User ID (LONG) may or may not start with evdo but from 2 carriers that I looked at they were similar. The small x's will be specific to you carrier. The capital Xs were my 10 digit phone number. Like I said best thing would be to do a side by side compare of yours and someone's that is working.

##778# doesnt bring anything up on this phone .

^ You basically erased your data settings when you flashed the Sprint rom. You need to know your carriers data settings and their APN info.

Yea , going to give that a shot again . Getting back to the apn talk, CDMA does not have APN menus I dont believe .

Flashed another rom and still no evdo ....

Were you able to hit the ##778# menu?
I flashed every rom available at the time mine was broke. You need to confirm those settings in the EPST menu are correct or nothing will change in any rom.
By just looking at mine I was able to realize they were not for my carrier.

The settings are correct in epst menu .. I made notation of them before starting all of this . This is strange because this has never happened before .

[Q] [Milestone] question about roms

I have an A854 milestone in Alaska , I treid CYanogens and bugless beast...both run very nice on it...the only problem i see is the APNs are verizon and I can not for the life of me restore the the old ones..it says sucsseful but...i dont have MMS working. I tried manually entering an APN but it doesnt seem to save...if i leave it verizon will i get a huge bill?? my local carrier is GCI...any ideas how to fix?
Have you tried this, open voice dialer and say " open apn " . Select it, then hit menu and hit new apn. Gci apn info is floating all over xda so just input the info in the right fields then hit menu, save, and reboot immediately. Should be bada bing baby!

[Q] I can call and SMS,but i can't go on the internet or check my email.Help please

Hello guys.
So as the title says i have a problem with my samsung galaxy s. It works to SMS and call, but i can't check my email or even go on the internet. I have already checked the settings for internet as my operative tells me to have. So i buyed the phone from a random guy and it worked for the last 1 week but now sudden it is like this. My brother tells me that it could have something with the imei-number. He says that the guy probably fooled me and have register the imei number as blacklisted. But then i wonder why can i still SMS and call?
So my question is :
What could be wrong cant i go on the internet and check my email while i can SMS and call?
What can i do if the guy fooled me? Is it any way to solve the imei-number problem if the satilite have blacklisted it?
Please i really need help with this i feel really fooled
Any help is appreciated and sorry for my bad english.
Kind Regards
Arrish
are you sure your internet and email settings are correct?
You might need to re input/input the APN's for your service provider. Go Settings>Wireless and Networks>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names and press menu to add an APN. If there are no APN's there already then it's the problem and if there are some there they may be wrong. You'll have to google the settings for your provider. Sorry if I got some of the menu names wrong
Thanks for the answer guys.
I have re-inputed the APN for my provider and i have checked my settings and it still don't work.
Kind Regards
Now i discovered another problem. When i choose GSM/WCDMA (auto mode) i cant call or SMS either. But with GSM only it works. I dont understand what the problem is. 3G doesn't work either.
What rom is on your phone?
Go to Settings>About phone and tell us the Build number.
Have you factory reset the phone since you've purchased it?
Thanks for the answer.
The build number: Darky's v9.5.XWJS8
and no i havent factory reset it.
Can someone help me please?
Please could anyone help me? I cant even SMS , Call or go on the internet. I think the guy who sold it to me has blocked it. To get money from his insuarance. If its blocked like satilite blocked or something is it possible to hack it and open it?
Kind regards.
EDIT: check your IMEI number (*#06#) matches the number on the box or the phone (under the battery)
ok ok well before we start accusing this 'guy' of fooling you, lets get you back to stock.
you are running a custom rom which could be causing these issues.
get yourself a firmware, with all 3 files, add a 512 pit, tick the re-partition box and let the phone do its thing.
then report back
Friend had exactly the same problem with their new SGS II. Factory reset sorted it out immediately.
Good luck with it
are you using the right modem for your region?? I was using one that worked in my home town but went to another city an hour away and my phoned died....apparently they use different tower frequencies in different locations where i'm from. Just make sure your using the right modem for your location.
So i checked the imei number on the phone and it matched the number under the battery. But i dont understand this " get yourself a firmware, with all 3 files, add a 512 pit, tick the re-partition box and let the phone do its thing. " I dont understand what you mean sorry , could you explain better thanks.
I will try to factory reset it now.
help please i cant do anythang

Droid 3 in Europe: No 3G, won't save APN

Hi,
I just received my Droid 3 in The Netherlands. Calling/texting works etc, but I have no 3G. I know people on vodafone have experienced this problem before, and had to change the apn in /system/etc/apns-conf.xml and /system/etc/ppp/peers/pppd-ril.options. However my APN is not listed there, and if I create it, it still doesn't work.
When I go to settings>wireless & network settings > mobile networks > access point names, the list is empty.
When I add my APN and press save, nothing happens. The list is still clear.
Now, if I don't enter the MMC/MNC, and press save it says "MMC requires 3 digits", however, this time it DOES create an APN profile.
If I then edit the profile and add MMC/MCN, it disappears
I have no idea what to do, asking my provider to send the settings doesn't work either. Here are the settings:
Code:
Name, Mobiel internet .
APN, portalmmm.nl .
Proxy, blank.
Port, blank.
Gebruikersnaam, blank.
Wachtwoord, blank.
MCC, 204 .
MNC, 08 .
Verificationtype, kies PAP.
APN-type, default . (
Kies de menu-toets.
edit: I'm thinking it might be my SIM-card?
According to some here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-2-global/115593-apn-will-not-save-4.html#post1408239
Using MCC/MCN checker, you need a value for getSimOperator(), however mine is blank.
edit2: I just tried my dads vodafone SIMcard, and it does have values for getSimOperator(). Also, immediately there are 2 APNs in settings>APN..
edit3: Now tried another newer simcard from the same provider, and now it does work. I guess it's my 4-year-old simcard.
Any way to make it work on this simcard or am I out of luck?
if your with vodafone then there is a number you can call and then it will send you a text. its a special text that you open and click save and it install 3g and MMS settings for you. i dont know the number for the netherlands but im sure if you take it into a vodafone shop they will do it for you.

I'm not with vodafone but my own provider has this feature too. You need to send an text and you'll receive the settings. However when I try this, I don't receive the message, probably because they don't recognize my phone. Either way, I doubt that it would be able to add APN when I can't do it manually
whats your provider?.. did you try taking it into the store? The phone is global so it should work
You aren't the first with this issue.
Looks like the problem is related to the incorrect reading of MCC and MNC from some SIMs.
Try to use a sw to set the apn, (search apn on the market, is plenty of SW of that kind.)

I tried APN manager. I noticed that all the APN profiles I tried to create were actually created because they showed up in APN manager. However they just don't show up in settings > APN because of something with my SIM-card. My theory is that it tries to match APNs from the list with my SIMcard, but it can't read the MCC/MNC codes.
With APN manager I can activate the correct APN however it changes nothing. The phone still thinks there's no connection
Btw I found it weird that APN manager did not show the changes I made in the /system/etc/apns-conf.xml :?
Thinking of getting a Droid 3 for use in the UK on the O2 network - anyone done this already?

Apn conf is a file to set automagically the right apn given the right network parameters, if they are missing that file is absolutely unuseful.
If anything else failed I suggest to try the XT883 rom that looks way more friendly with the European networks.
Nobody? I know my sim-card is old but I have 3G on my samsung jet.. I don't see why it shouldn't work?
Have you tried with the xt883 rom?
You could try editing the build.prop
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310004
change it to whatever the mcc mnc should be

All the three.it sim i tested are working w/o any trick with the xt883 rom.
Then I assume my guess was correct, the Chinese ROM is way more gsm friendly than the verizon one.
D3 means you got the XT860? or Xt862?

BTW, the xt883 rom has so many advantages over the stock one that I can't see a valid reason for non using it.

HOW TO FIX GSM Connection issues on Sprint HTC One in U.S. EASY FIX

This is really quite simple.
This HOW TO will show you how to keep your Sprint HTC One from dropping data and or signal while on GSM.
This solves the dropping of GSM when going from tower to tower.
There is a full video how to on our Youtube channel TK Tech News,
You need
CDMA WS, Or DFS CDMA Tool.
Make sure to put the HTC ONE in CDMA Mode
Dial ##3424#
Connect to your computer,
Open CDMA WS
Connect to port that has HTC DIAG 9K
Connect
Go to security, Select HTC Method and read SPC
Send SPC
Write SPC 000000
Go to main tab
Toggle over until you get to the tab that offers RUIM, RUIM Available, NV-RUIM, Or NV ONLY
Select RUIM Only.
Click write
Reboot and you are good to go.
This solves the connection issues, I have driven up and down the east cost and not lost service with this method, The video may explain it better.
Being I am new on XDA as a "Poster" I cant post the video but you can easily find it on the channel.
Thanks.
Also working on a GPE port for the Sprint Version
Looking forward to lots of development, Will be posting ROMS and other mods as soon as I am able to do so.
If a mod wants to allow me to be able to do this earlier that would be great.

Free way of doing it!
For those of you like me that do not want to pay any money do the following.
1. Install QPST Download
2. Start -> Programs -> QPST -> QPST Configuration
3. Click Add New Port... and select the correct Port (HTC Diagnostic Interface - 9K)
4. On QPST Configruation windows click Start Clients->Services Programming and click OK
5. Find Tab 1xHDR Security
6. Change to R-UIM
7. Click Wirte to Phone and waiting for cell phone reset. Will ask you for your SPC code.
Now to get the SPC code I used CDMADevTerm. QPST can prolly do it but I have no clue how.
1. Phone Tab -> Setup -> Scan Ports
2. Select HTC Diagnostic Interface - 9K
3. Click Read SPC and you have your code. You can change it here as well
All credit goes to TK Tech News, I only found a free way of doing the same thing.

For sure.
So it seems this was not the total fix for me. It works awesome until the phone attempts to switch to another tower and the service just drops out completely and doesn't want to re-register automatically. Any other ideas? Browsing around with QPST and see some interesting things, but know you can get into trouble while writing the wrong thing.

Sure have. I've all but given up on this idea. I've tried every suggestion that has been in any thread about this and nothing has helped. I've read every post and thread that has anything to deal with this unlock. I've tried 4.1.2 / 4.3 / 4.4.2 roms both Sprint Sense UI and CM based. I've tried international roms with Sprint support. I've tried cobbling together my own rom with bits and pieces of this and that. Tried different radios on the different configurations. Played around with settings in QPST (scary). Used apps and settings to force roaming only. Tried working T-mobile and AIO Wireless SIM cards. There just really isn't anything to be done at this point, I feel. It works great until the phone switches to another tower. I can hot reboot and service will come back and hot reboot again and data will come back too. Unfortunately that isn't good enough. But it is what it is and just another reason I am glad I don't have any reason to get a Sprint phone or service for myself.
Are there actual confirmations of service NOT dropping out for someone in the US? If so, what is your set up?
Hmm, I take it the diag code changes if I'm on a non-sense ROM? ##DIAG# didn't work for me.

Unlocking Sprint G Flex to Cricket/AIO/ATT Wireless

This tutorial is my method for successfully unlocking the G flex to Cricket/AIO/ATT wireless with data/MMS, No battery drain, no Wifi calling drain.
1. Pros. Use Cricket/AIO/ATT sim.
2. Cons. Must dial International code +1 ( or whatever country code you're in) before every 10 digit number.
********Before we start you need to be on stock 4.4.2 sprint rom with Network Mode LTE/CDMA enabled************
(The roaming option does not appear when on GSM)
Next, change theme from "FLEX" to "LG". For some reason FLEX bugs out after the phone unlocks and causes crashes. (May be an isolated incident)
*Now we need to add the APN from AIO wireless into the Apn list by going into settings>roaming>Access point names
*The APN list will be blank and state "NO APNS" this is normal. Hit the menu button and add the AIO wireless APN settings from
http://buzzmobile.us/aio-wireless-apn-settings-internet-mms/
When completed you will need to press the back button and once again you will be greeted with a blank APN screen. Don't worry it's there.
Follow the instructions for root + unlocking the phone here. Total commander doesn't work on 4.4.2, don't use it, do it all with Root Browser (Get from Play Store).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50477852
After you are finished you should be rooted, successfully finished removing bloatware and left with a half unlocked phone.
Now navigate to settings/tethering and networks/mobile networks/Network Mode and change to GSM/WCDMA
**********************You are finished with this portion of the Tutorial***********************
*Fun Part*
1. Download Rom toolbox on your phone, the free/lite version is fine.
2. Navigate to build.prop editor
3. Find and change the settings listed..
ro.carrier=spr (spr to lowercase)
ro.build.target_operator=spr (spr to lowercase)
persist.service.crash.enable=1
Lets keep something in mind here... Once you change these settings you will need to restart your phone and you will be unlocked for Cricket/AIO/ATT networks, however, at this time you should know that if you venture back into network mode and happen to change your settings back to LTE/CDMA, you will lose the ability to change your network mode back to GSM UNLESS you revert the build.prop changes listed above. You can actively switch from LTE/CDMA and GSM by this method although I don't see why anyone would..
At this point you should have Talk/Text/Data/MMS...If not, you may have done something wrong.
**More funner part***
At this point in the tutorial your phone is doing two things.
1. It lies when it says its only on GSM/WCDMA
2. Rapidly draining the S#$% out of your battery.
We need the MSL Code so we may dial ##DATA# in your phone and access LTE settings.
Follow this Tutorial for retrieving your MSL code.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47324060
After you obtain the MSL pull up the phone application and dial ##DATA#(3282) Navigate into LTE and disable LTE/Band 26/Band 41
When you back out of the menu your phone will restart and stop continuously looking for LTE Radio.
**Final touches**
Remove all and I mean ALL sprint and preloaded wifi calling applications if you experience wifi calling battery draining. For some reason wifi calling spazzes out.
I'm not going to list the apk's because it may be an isolated incident and if you find out wifi calling is draining your battery just long press it in battery stats and go to "APP INFO" and find out what it is named and remove it with root browser...
I have been on Cricket/AIO wireless for two weeks now with HSPA+ and enjoying it.
This method may work with other carriers who knows.
**Food for thought**
1. When I change the ro.carrier settings from lowercase spr to ndo like in the APN i got a cool h+ instead of GSM.
2. I have not been able to wifi tether yet with cricket and I'm actively looking for a way now..
3. Think anyone else has issues with the FLEX theme crashing?
thanks.

If you don't mind how much do you pay? Will this work with a T-Mobile Flex? I'm pretty happy with T-Mobile since I got my discount back. I have 4 lines so it's around 25 bucks in savings a month.

It should work with t-mobile, i don't see why not, instead of ATT/AIO apn's just add a Tmobile apn and make sure that you have some time to play with the build.prop settings for example...
ro.carrier = spr can be changed to ndo and still work because "in theory" it matches the APN.
After adding the tmobile apn setting, changing ro.carrier to " t-mobile" to match the apn might work .
Try it out and see!
p.s i would leave ro.build.target_operator=spr alone, if all else fails you can change this too.
Thanks for the guide . I picked up a sprint g flex and lg g2 cheap, used your guide on both. Enjoying them on NET10 in the states.
patiently waiting for a custom recovery for kitkat on the flex.
interesting thread. i keep running into an issue though. as soon as i reboot after changing the stuff it reverts to where i was before and nothing saved. any suggestions? root is fine...
awesome stuff here i really want to see this happen on my flex!
Wont allow apn change
so i got stuck with a simple issue. when i go into the apn list there is an apn there already.
cinet.spcs
and when i press the menu key it is not showing the add feature to be able to add the new apn as described in the thread.
after doing these I noticed when opening Wifi it force closes and says "Unfortunantley, Settings has stopped"
only wifi that works is the one i used before doing these mods wont allow adding others
also have tried various wifi repair apps
working for me but getting tons of systemui crashes
Concerning the errors that appear often but I came out I did this : I returned and change in the build prop, spr for SPR capitalized and not returned to me the problem also remove the option to persist crash : 0 , take into GSM mode UMTS network selection mobile. I'm in version 4.4
Not working for me.
I tried this 3 times. Once with stock 4.4.2. Once downgraded to 4.2.2 and another time after updating back to 4.4.2 from OTA. All failed. Could not get any sim to be recognized. I am a smart guy and have done much more complicated methods of flashing, rooting, etc. for Android phones. But this just does not work. The phone states no SIM when I put my Cricket SIM in it. But when I put the Sprint SIM back, it reads it.
Any help would be GREATLY accepted. Thank you.
PS: I called Sprint because this is a clean phone. When I asked for the unlock code they gave me the MSL. I have a feeling that is incorrect but I could be wrong. After an hour on the phone, they said that is the unlock code. No matter how much I tried to tell them it's not.

Maybe this is a better guide for you:
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-sim-unlock-sprint-lg-g2-ls980/
The Sim unlock does work, I've been using my sprint g flex on cricket for 6 months or so , but only with H+ .
You don't really need the msl or have the phone in good standing (blacklisted is OK).
If the Sim isn't being recognized that means you didn't do the folder replacement right. I had trouble at this part, which was solved by using the app "ROM toolbox". It took a few tries.
As far as changing the APN , just use any shortcut app on the playstore.
For switching bands, use the app " network" from the playstore. No msl needed.

Forgot to mention that I am on 4.4.2 ZVA, there seems to be a problem/troubles with this mod after this update. Definitely get rid of bloatware/sprint to stop updates

Tried this method twice so far. Both times the phone reboots or I get multiple force closes that disable the use of the phone. Guess I'll keep trying. Thanks for the help.

Did you use the files from my link? Flex specific?
Don't use total commander.
What software version are you on?
Even after the FC, does it recognize your Sim?
You must also change the build prop, just realize the guide doesn't have that. Probably why your getting FCs.
Save a copy before making changes:
ro.carrier=spr
ro.build.target_operator=spr
persist.service.crash.enable=1

Sorry for getting back to you so late. Life is busy with three kids and a full time job.
I wipped and followed the instructions again. VERY closely. It worked. Thank you very much.

Sweet. Glad you got it.
The only trouble I have had with this method is if the phone shuts off or I restart, I have to switch the bands back to GSM.
would this work on LS995ZVB? thanks.
