Does anybody know which file needs to be edited to change the background in the "All Programs" drawer??
I've opened up the "classes.dex" from rosie and found a few files inside called "launcherxxxxxxx.smali"
xxxxxxx= various file names.
I'm just assuming it's something to do with the classes.dex from rosie.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Nearly 450 views and one reply, WTF??????

No, I don't mean the app specific themes, I mean deeper than that.
Essentially I have a theme which I used entirely (up until I reflashed MCR and realised I love default Sense style ) but now I want only to apply the lockscreen and the notifications blind.. How would I go about doing this?
Also, what images make up the dock of Sense? Just incase I decided to mess with colours (folders on the phone and name please).
Thanks.
The dock of sense is in the folder res/drawable-port in Rosie.apk

Those are the default Home, not Sense..
EDIT: they were in drawable-port-480x320
If I want to apply them with Metamorph do I need to include every image in the drawable-port-480x320 folder or just the edited ones?
Also, anyone able to answer my other Q's?
Just the edited ones.
Anyone able to drop the names of the Lockscreen pull bar and the Notifications blind images?

How do you theme the (6) icons that pop-up when you press the Menu button ? I'm referring to Settings, Search, Add, Wallpaper, etc, etc. The images don't appear to be in framework-res.apk. I've looked in a few other folders/files with no luck so far.
And if anyone knows where to get replacement images, can you please point me in the right direction ?

I believe they are in the vendor.apk and if you have a launcher like launcherpro you'll also have to them those as well.
No idea where to get custom images except from other ROM's or themes from those that have taken the time to colorize or otherwise theme the menu options. Hope it helps some.
I found a "vending.apk" but not the images that I was looking for. I'm using ADW too, by the way.

Sorry my bad, vending is for the settings menu, the images you are looking for are in the framework-res.apk, they begin with "ic_menu_", sorry for the mis-info
No need to apologize I'll look through there again. I've found "ic_menu..." images in there before (in 'drawable-mdpi' ?) but not ALL of them. Of course, there's over 700 to look through.

Other apk files contribute to that menu, depending on the app you have open. They all should start with ic_menu... Are you wanting to theme just the home screen? If so, some are in framework, settings and adw. If you need some help, send me a pm...

Yes, just the home screen at this point. I did find some of the images in framework-res.apk and I suspected the the launcher app must change things too. That's disappointing because when ADW updates, I have to change/update the image(s) again.
With your experience Macrodroid, how practical is it to take the existing images and edit them with The Gimp, for example ? Can I change the 'object' color and the background (easily) using that ?

I use paintshop pro to edit images. Gimp should work about the same. I also use 7-zip to edit the apk's.
As far as updates for adw goes, just save the images you change in a folder on your PC. When they update, pull the apk from your phone, open the drawable folder for the images, copy your images to the apk and save it. Resign the apk when your done and push it back to your phone. Or, if they don't change the filename on you, you can create an mm theme with a lit less hassle. If you need some help setting anything up, drop me a pm... I'll be more than happy to help you out...

Is there any way to change the icons for the apps and actions in the framework for a Sense rom? Im a rom that is based on the 2.1 Rogers RUU, and I detest the icons that Sense comes with. So I was wondering if there is any way I can change them permanently. So, none of that bettercut stuff.
Thanks!!

I'm not totally sure where you're going with this. In order to change the status-bar icons you need to edit the framework-res.apk. In order to change the icons you need to pull system/framework/framework-res.apk from your phone, decompile the apk and overwrite the icons you want. Compile the .apk, sign it and push it back to your phone.
Since you're mentioning Bettercut I'm not completely sure what you're aiming for, though. If you're talking about the icons linked to the application on the other hand this is what I've got. I'm sure there are alternate ways to do it:
Pull the desired application from your phone and change the icon directly in the res folder.

Sorry, I know I wasn't being completely clear. I wanna change the icons for the applications in the app drawer.
So I have to pull the system/framework/framework-res.apk. Then replace the icons (assuming they have to be the same resolution?). Compile the apk (how would I do this?) and then push it back to system/framework/ ?

No, the framework is not linked to the icons in your app-drawer
I'm not 100 % on this, but you're gonna have to pull the applications you want to edit one by one.
Hello,
I would like to change color of highlighting numbers in SMS messages but I'm lost and not able to find a right place where to change it. I looked at framework-res.apk and also com.htc.resources.apk but no luck. See attached image, if not clear what I was talking about. Does anybody know where I can change such color, please?
Thanks for any help.
I am asking a similar question about theming and how to change the selected / highlighted "text color" when "cutting and pasting", searching or selecting a link in my browser.
Specifically for Sense ROMS 2.1 or 3.0 with GB 2.3.3 or 2.3.4. The T-Mobile HTC MyTouch theme called "Safari" has everything blue for the text selections and highlights, and want to have this same feature on a standard HTC ROM. Not a green color fan.
Looking for what *.xml file controls this in the framework files?
Is this XML in the
com.htc.resources.apk
framework-res.apk
files?
Again, trying to do the same thing, to learn which xml file controls this.
TIA

Those color codes will be in the messaging apk not the the framework or the resources. HTC has many color codes over writting each other. I would start in the messaging app.
These color codes are MOSTLY in the framework files, otherwise when you change skins they would always be the same green. This is not the case. Try it yourself with a different skin other the the HTC default.

I know about themes more then you think. I don't use the stock SMS app so not so sure about that one but before you say I should try it have a look at the SS. I know my way around the framework enough to change everything.
Hello,
wish this is the correct section to make my question. I'd like to know if someone can tell me how to find the names of the .png files of drawer icons, because I want to mod a theme where not all the icons are themed.
For example, for the browes icon, I know that the png file is called "com.android.browser.browseractivity"; for the copilot icon the name is "com.alk.copilot.copilot".
But for a lot of icons I don't know the name. Can someone help me, please?
thank you
Matteo
