Updating to FRF83 from FRF72 with Amon RA bootloader - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an unlocked N1 with Amon RA's bootloader. I went to FRF72 with the signed roms along the way. Try as I might I can not find a FRF83 rom that will work with a non stock bootloader.
Is there one? If not how do I get to FRF83?
Thanks for the help.

Bricked Dream? Or Fixable?

Here's the story:
So, got another G1, came with 1.33.2005, and an EBI1 radio. So I flashed AmonRA - R, and the updated EBI1 radio to avoid Rogers harassment. Then I went into the recovery; booted fine. Then I flashed the HTC 1.6 ota update, then CM update, then the EBI1 kernel. Little did I not know, I wasn't supposed to flash the OTA since that would update the radio. Now the phone won't boot into HBoot or Recovery. I do however get the Blue LED from holding the trackball down. Anyway, is my phone permanently screwed? Or is there a way out of this?

At present its a brick; as in there is at this point in time no known way out of that state.
Work is being done to attempt to break out using "blue light mode"; but this has not succeeded yet.
The OTA.zip has logic in addition to flashing the radio/boot image; to force the SPL (which is working btw) to go immediately to recovery. Ignoring any requests to enter hboot/fastboot modes.

Is it possible to Flash ERE27 on to EPF30 without rooting?

Like many others I have the latest unlocked, unrooted Vodafone Nexus EPF30, as there is no Superboot for this build I seem to be unable to Root it so that I can install custom ROMS or FROYO.
Is it possible to downgrade / flash the ERE27 over this ROM safely so that I can then Flash the FRF50, 72 then 83 builds.
Or do I do the safe and sensible thing and just wait for the eventual OTA.
But where is the fun in that right, we got Android for a reason!

Stock frf91 root?

Is there a procedure to root a n1 with stock frf91 with unlocked bootloader and original recovery?
Tell me if this is good...
Install a recovery and then install frf91 already rooted rom

[Q] Best way to update HBOOT?

I've tried flashing the different versions of the RFG33 update without success.
The problem seems to be that since I have two bad blocks in my boot partition the boot.img doesn't fit.
It seems that the newer HBOOT 0.35.0017 has increased the boot partition size so that might solve my problem.
So my question is what's the best way to update to HBOOT 0.35.0017?
Obviously I want to be able to root and flash custom ROMs, the HBOOT upgrade is just a solution to my bad blocks problem.
From what I've read there seems to be 3 PASSIMG.zip's with the new HBOOT. Vodafone FRF91, KT FRF91 and the WWE FRG33. Which one should I choose?
Is it possible to only flash the new HBOOT? It doesn't seem like it...
Additional info:
CM6 nightly
locked bootloader
clockworkmod recovery
Use Korean FRF91, since it's rootable easier than FRG33 (Universal Androot works on KT FRF91 but doesn't work on FRG33, and rooting FRG33 is manual and harder).
