im not sure, never really used emulator.

Moved as not development.

hey is there anyone who can help me root my sprint hero cuz i have tried like 3 different ways and i keep getting stuck the best step by step i found was the market4android site but as im running the cmd i get up to the shell point then it tells me not found and i dont think it pushed the files over to my phones sdcard what am i doing wrong please help me it fustrating
What you need to do is figure out what firmware version you have and then use the search function of this board to find out how to root your version, the development forums on xda is not the place to be asking these kinds of trivial questions that can be easily found with search.

well perhaps if you had posted in the general or the questions and answers forum you could have saw threads about rooting.. but instead you posted on the dev forum....
This one worked for me when all else failed. I think it's the only one that works for android 2.1.
Look for a thread titled "[GUIDE] How to Root Sprint 2.1 Release for CDMA Hero"
Thread moved to Q&A.
It seems that Titanium always says that it can't locate .apk file for AT&T stuff.
Anyone uninstalled it?
yup ... having the same issue
sure.. use root explorer... or actually read the first link in the froyo release which easily tells you how to remove the bloat.
Read the froyo threads as this is already discussed. Titanium backup needs to get updsted. Second, this is not a development question. Put threads where they belong. You didnt need to create a thread for this.

Moved to Q&A.
Please keep all questions to the Q&A sub-forum. This way, we can keep the development sub-forum easy to search and make it easier for developers to work on their projects.
Thank you
If anyone is still looking:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798761
Delete files described in this thread using RootExplorer or adb. Must be root of course.
Anyone have a suggestion for a working 2.2.2 froyo kernel source?
I tried a while back but have been unable to recover my working tree.
This is why I hate posting these kind of questions in the q&a forum...
Because the people that know the answers (devs) rarely bother visiting here...
This q&a is more for "how do I change my ringtone" type questions
And not actual technical "development" questions.
However, we are not allowed to post questions in the dev forum so I guess I am stuck....
(dont mind me....I am high on pain killers again...lol)
Hi all, please bare with me, I am a EPIC user and I am trying to help a friend out at work. He has the Bionic and he is looking to get rid of the bloatware. He is not interested in a CUSTOM ROM or anything. So, my question, can you root the bionic and just delete the bloatware? Is there another way to delete the bloatware? If someone can point me in the right direction(links), THANKS!
This shouldn't be in the Android Development section, this belongs in General.
If you check the STICKIED thread at the top of this page
then you'll find that there's a debloated stock ROM in there. That should give you what you seek.

I don't think this is the right place for this. I know some people might use it, but try putting it elsewhere. This thread is for development
Moderator information,
This does not belong in the development section, but in the General section. Also there is an existing thread already in the General section for stock backups. Please see here: COLLECTION of Stock backup's
Many thanks.
