Hi. There are times when I try to install an app from the market, and it says it downloads it, but when it then attempts to install it, it just keeps saying installing but nothing ever happens. I have let it sit there for over an hour, and yet it still just says installing without any progress.
So, when this happens I cant figure out anything to do but to reboot the device. There must be a better way to "cancel out of a botched install procedure, but I cant figure it out.
Does anyone have any tricks to do this and has this happened to anyone else ??
Please let me know,
thanks.

Whenever I've had that happen I can usually go to markets, find the app it's trying to install, and hit "cancel", then restart it.
Thanks for the quick response. I tried to do what you suggested, and I went to the market, found the app that is stuck in installing mode, but all I see is a greyed out installing button at the bottom and no cancel button or anything like that can be found.
Please direct me to cancel button.
Thanks.
Oops, you're right, you can only cancel if it's still downloading/waiting to download. Once it starts installing it's greyed out. Not sure what to tell you other than rebooting.

hi everyone. i've been following the forum here for awhile and finally decided to root my brand new NC. i autorooted from 1.1. i saw some things weren't working so i quickly decided to unroot back to factory settings. i unrooted by unregistering the device and turning off the power 8 times. my NC boots up fine, but it gets stuck on the "Registering your Device" page and just remains there with the circle spinning. i think i left it there for more than 30 minutes and nothing happens. has anyone experienced this before? if so, how did you fix it? any help would be appreciated.
sorry if this topic has already been asked - i tried searching but didn't find anything on this specific issue. if there's already a thread, please feel free to share the link with me. thank you!
EDIT: really need some help here... i tried to fix it myself (i know i shouldn't have) and might have made it even worse. i tried to re-autoroot my NC but just completely failed. it was not loading anything anymore, so i tried to unroot again by powering off 8 times. when i restarted, everything looked normal, except the bootloader screen was not stock. it brought me back through the normal tutorial and same thing with it getting stuck on "registering your device". could someone please provide a thorough walkthrough on how to reset to factory settings? i'm seeing all these threads throwing around all these acronyms that i don't understand. seems like i need to try running some clockwork rom but not even sure how to do that. please help!!
Bump, i have just encountered this problem and i need help as well.
Update:
actually just figured it out and heres what fixed my problem, i wasn't doing the factory reset part only the 8 reboot interruptions.

Thanks for your post, even though no one ever helped. I was having the same problem and doing a clear data/factory reset from Clockwork Recover booted from an SD card did the trick for me.
Hello,
I just got my new Optimus 2x in.
After 2 days using it and draining a lot of battery life installing apps and getting the phone the way I liked it.
The LG apps installed on it started to annoy me bigtime.
So i did the most respectfull thing every tweaker does, i rooted the phone.
Installed the Titanium Backup software and started deleting LG apps.
The deleting part went perfect, then my screen turned black and the only thing working was the kill andriod app software on top.
So i pulled the battery and rebooted, nothing.... the phone got stuck at the LG logo.
Did a Hard reset Volume down + the power button.
It started the installation --> google login --> setting up extra account --> and then got the error about a wizard having problems.
So i guess my rom is corrupt.
Tried updating trough the LG software - emergency and got the message "not possible anymore".
Tried updating trough KDZ firmware update tool but it can not find the phone*.
*Downloaded the original firmware from a thread located here.
Does anybody know how to get in emergency mode so i can try different things.
Or maybe other options i could consider?
If not i'd might considering sending it in for warranty.
But it boots so there must be a way to get things working again.
Thx i appreciate getting all the help and ideas.
Im sorry to hear about your problem
Hope u can fix it
But may i ask how do u root it? I try z4root but no use...

I rooted it with superoneclick.
--small update--
If i skip the setup part after my google login, i can force stop the wizard error.
But it does not go into android itself, i get the top bar but thats it.
The LG software recocgnizes my phone but says it's OK and it does not need a update.
Wait for android 2.2.3?
That might do the trick, but then i might have to wait more than 2 weeks
1.Turn the power off. If your LG Optimus 2X is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2.Hold the Home and Volume Down button
3.Press and hold the Power button until the device turns on
4.Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your device
That's the only option, on this time.
Tried this.
It says S/W Upgrade
Please wait
while upgrading...
and then nothing.
Try boot your phone to android then connect it to pc and run adb shell if shell working put all apk,s from rom dump here.
You have to copy all files to /system/app.
I'll give it a try tomorrow, have to get to work in like 3 hours =)
Im done for today.
Actually, if you get the notification bar, Android is working.
Sounds like you just deleted the Launcher, did you replace it?
If not, adb install and new launcher and you'll be good to go. Although you'll want one on your system partition too!
Have a look in the "Safe to remove" apps thread.
That's it, that's the one i accidently removed.
Any idea how to put it back on the phone?
As described above your post, trough ADB shell?
Can someone post LGLauncher in this thread?

Download here LGHome
Thanks i downloaded it.
But the thing is i can't run adb it gives me the error: device not loaded.
Tried installing the google usb drivers, gives me a no can do.
Another thing i figured out is this: Installing LG PC Suite IV.
It does give me the device connected, but i can not update.
* Can sync contacts
* Can sync Favourites
* Can sync Memo's
But no update (because it's not out yet)
Isn't there a way to fool the suite there is an update but in fact it's just the old firmware and replacing it (making it a repair).
This Thread is discussing the same problem as i am, btw
Fixed!
Obtained the LGLauncher.apk and emailed it to my google account!
Got it out of the above link i posted.

as i said in the other thread you should use root explorer to copu the launcher to /system/app
if you dont it will be gone again if you ever factory reset.
And next time dont delete stuff... just freez it from titanium... Frozen apps are gone (cant be started by the system or seen in launcher) but you get them all back if you factory reset (so no risk of bricking)
OK... we dont get the few megs of free space by freezing... but that is not really an issue on this phone.
Hi everyone!
My sister had SGM phone, and this problem appear on her phone.
Whenever she tried download from market -games/app/anyhthing sometimes the download stopped and suddenly multiplied.
It happens when her network got slow and disturb the download, make a new download of the same app but not abort download of the previous one.
I already tried stop the original one but the others that multiplied dont have any option where to stop it. And I also already stop the network, restart the phone, but nothing worked.
Need help!
Yea, I also used to have same problem --now I don't download apps (from market). You can try cancelling the download...
Go to My apps and what you are downloading will be listed there. Long press on it and click cancel download/stop. It might solve it... You can try downloading on pc and then transfer to mobile if you are really annoyed.
Try to freeze it using root explorer
Freeze? You mean like Titanium Backup?

Problem:
Well after installing a new playstore or a modded playstore it is common problem that when updating or downloading a new app from playstore the download won't start. It will be stuck at "Downloading" or "Starting Download" or in some cases you will even get "927 Error" Even after leaving it for several hours it will still show "Downloading" or "Starting Download".I know the feeling,it's frustrating. When I was in the same situation I literally tried everything I can find by Googling.Nothing worked, I felt like pulling my hair. But atlast it clicked I didn't try the most simplest thing. So I will be guiding you out of it.I am writing this because I felt real bad when I couldn't find a guide to this simple problem.
Solution:
Well the solution is pretty easy follow the steps:
Go to Setting>Accounts>Google>*Click on your email*>Menu>Remove Account
Turn off your phone.
After Restart just open playstore again.
It will prompt you to use a google account to continue.
Select "Existing"
And type your email and password.
And trying downloading a app
It should work now.Enjoy.
Contact me for any other question or request guides will be glad to help.
Best Regards,
Khaled Mohammad
It also works if we stop the download and then click the install button again. Will try your method.

EMERGENCY-"App isn't installed on your device" NONE of my apps open, can't reformat
Have a Mi 9 on stable 10.2.3.0 EEA. Suddenly today whenever I try to open an app it says "app isn't installed on your device". Literally nothing opens. Only settings opens. Not even the botton for google assistant works. I even tried to factory reset and after it asks me to input password, I do then and then it says settings crashed or something so I can't even reformat. I've restarted the phone a couple of times and nothing changes.
Can anyone help me with this? I don't own a computer so I really need my phone to work. Use it for everything.
Thank you

Your Rom Europe stable, pls ask support this site: https://xiaomi.eu/community/
Hi there! One night I ran into the same issue and I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out and I stumbled upon this solution. Since I could use the settings app, I turned on the wifi hotspot and voila! The phone returned to its original state. I don't know how the hotspot turning on did the trick but it worked for me. Hope it helps

EEA Stable, official ROM, nothing to do with Xiaomi.eu...
Without a computer, you could boot in recovery mode, Wipe & Reset.
So how was this message posted?
I suggest you try buying a USB-C 16gb key, download the ROM with somebody else's phone, reboot in recovery and flash the rom again.
You WILL NEED another device, either a computer or another phone + usb key
