Has anyone created a ROM that is near stock sprint 2.1 that is overclockable and still has Sense and no weird bugs?
Oh and is not a pain in the something to install.
Thanks
I really hate to be a smart ass. But seriously? That's your question? Did you look at the first page of this section? Look for the subforum titled "[ROM] Sprint 2.27.651.6 STOCK Deoxed w/A2SD Update 3 |6/22/2010|" and then go from there. I'm not even going to justify your question for OC with an answer.
sorry i missed that one
looking to see if it says it is overclocked
Those things can be easy to miss, even if you're looking. The ROM referenced is the one I am using, OCed to 768 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705074 scroll down under "Infinitefx45's 2.27.651.6"). Excellent ROM. Very stable and with OC very fast.
I am running [ROM] Sprint 2.27.651.6 STOCK Deoxed w/A2SD Update 3 with DAMAGE710 and the phone kicks ass now. who needs an evo, with a phone that is just the right size and pretty good speed - hero rocks.
I still have to install a few of the zipped fixes and have not created an ext3 partition yet.
i just switched yesterday from nfinite's rom to ''fresh 2.3.3'' it is much faster. even faster with live wallpapers(which i dont use). even has friendstream. OC to 710. it has a different launcher but aside from that its still somewhat stock. i personally find this build to as fast if not faster than our froyo port. but thats just me.

I used now Eclair and is good but i need change.
I need stable, fast and good Rom.
What can u do "offer"?
Try different ROM's and decide for yourself
i have tried just about every ROM on this forum and I always go back to HTCDevil's "fast and light ROM v2.0.
it is fast, light and stable. i would like to switch to one of the "froyo hacked" ROMs, but i need my video recorder ans more stability than the 2 i have tried provide for now (motofrenzy and bastardized).

Anything eclair based if you want stable, Personally I've had no massive issues with Bastardized and having Froyo is nice anyway. Sense ROMs are a bit slower due to the lack of RAM/Swap but still usable but not as a daily driver
im using cyanogenmod 6 from kabaldan, everything works fine and its really stable
I would try "CyanogenMod" works really great.
But more battery consumption.
App2sd @ FAT32 is awesome
fg
i instaled cyan and i have many fc ;/
On fast and light rom fast consumtion battery.
And i return too EclairMod.

Hmm, what OC where u using?
Mine runs great...no FC no reboots.
motofrenzy is fastest rom for now. i can recommend it because motofrenzy is from official source..

Telus Lite V4.1
CM 6 stopped all reboot issues from official Motocrap ROM for me.
I have a Milestone in Argentina and i flashed it with Telus 3.11 which in my opinion is for now the best stable ROM. You have to manual install the 3D Gallery as it does not come wit this ROM.
From Telus you can choose to flash CM6 (i think) which in my opinion is still buggy and lot of user report problems with that or this.
Other possibility is than Telus Light 4.x or the upcoming 5.x, but includes heavy overclock.
I my self stay with Telus 3.11, de installed all the system/app crap, some boot manipulations, root, and a own theme based on Buggless Evolution. I am happy with it. No overlock, etc. as i am not a guy who plays a lot of cpu intensive games.
Perhaps i am going to improving the java engine.
Resume: Flash Telus 3.11 and from there you go.
I'm happy with eclair v3a for now. Battery life and lack of viable camera keep me away from the Froyo roms. In my opinion regardless of what else might be packed inside, the eclair rom has some crap cleaned out of it, has superuser and overclocking and a some other bells or whistles and it all works.
Good enough for me till someone cracks the kernal or we get a real milestone froyo.
Regards, PK
P.S. I've heard this lament for other roms, why does ADW or power launcher seem jerky at higher clock speeds?
xslntx's telus lite rom v4 is amazingly fast and stable. A hybrid rom based on euro and telus. Governed over/under clocking so battery life is good, but power is there when needed. V5 is coming out which promises to speed things up even more.

at least majority of the framework + libs are original droid libs, and is as official as it can get..
but i guess camera was always an issue, but this is soon past tence, when we get a good kernel, i might just fix a final motofrenzy before it gets officially released, as cm6 is not official, but is based on custom compiles based off android opensource.
In my opinion, the best ROM nowadays is the Eclair-based EclairMOD v3B by 89luca89. Fast and stable, never a reboot! Froyo based ROMs are faster just running benchmarks, in everyday use I think Eclair is still a step forward..

Eclair is actually a step backwards... i am fortunate to have tested a 2.1 on Galaxy S which really shows why you would chose froyo compared to a 2.1 rom.
Imagine opening 5 different apps, having 2 flash videos running in different windows and a game as well..
handling is so much so faster which is memory + froyo handling on top.
secondly for milestone, you get the option to move apps (non-rooted) to a sdcard, which is thanks to froyo too...
with all the extra froyo adds in already existing semi-2.2 roms, you simply meant patience is gold, but for some, that is already found.. i have been very happy with milestone running motofrenzy and motosense , and note: no reboots!!
but lacks camera, but i could care less, as ms camera is not worth much anyways...
with the early release of froyo 2.2 kernel, im sure you will upgrade very soon...
either official or to a custom cmX rom.
Froyo is surely much better as specs, but for everyday use, 2.2 ROMs have more disavantages than avantages, starting from the camera, battery life, mobile overheating, random reboot.. I'm speaking on my personal experience, maybe I was just unlucky!
Overall speed is true, is better on Froyo, but overall I still prefer Eclair. I've tried all 2.2 roms here and no one works absolutely fine on my Milestone, as better roms will come out, I'll surely upgrade to 2.2.. but now, Eclair for me!
=)

+1 @ TelusLite 4.1
tested HoNo, CyanogenMod6, EclairMod, and MotoFrenzy..
TelusLite v4.1 is the absolute fastest of them all... I realize i have over-clocks with some other modifications to the memory/kernel, but TL4.1 screamed past them all with EclairMod in second place followed by HoNo
I did all tests from a factory reset & blank install.

I use two roms normally.. I run the CM6 nightlies for my froyo experience, and I run a hybrid of NFX and Liquid's modified Sprint Stock for sense..
I enjoy both experiences, just depends on the mood I'm in on a given day.
my device performs the best with stock 2.1 rom, rooted, bloat removed. for a lil extra zip, ill use an oc kernel at 691mhz. this is the way my device is the most responsive, although i occasionally find myself longing for the Bold keyboard
Hello I recently restored my Captivate thanks to the people that helped me yesterday but I need to know the most stable Froyo ROM out I had Darky's Captivate ROM and that failed and my phone became a brick. Thanks for the help.
If your looking for stability stay away from the new 2.2.1 roms (JPX, JPU, & JPY) and stay away from overclocked roms too. From my personal experience, Di11igafs rom (version 2.5, not 3.0) was really good. It comes overclocked but its easy to remove with the voltage control app. I got good battery life, wifi worked, good reception, and even gps was better than normal. I also hear from others and from reading the entire thread that Mikey's Assonance 5.0 is pretty stable. It's a NO BS rom and many people like it. Hope this helped.
Thanks for the help I was on 2.2.1 lol and my phone just flat out died I will try them
I have safely used Cognition, Auxura, and Assonance. Currently on Assonance and although it is an i9000 OC ROM I haven't had any issues.

Why wouldn't you want to run the latest up to date froyo build?
Nothing wrong with mildly overclocked roms either, i've been running at 1200mhz for a while with no side effects. Sure trying to run the phone at 1500mhz might give you some issues... but i have yet to find a rom that isn't stable, and i've pretty much tried them all.
champ0497: how exactly did darky's rom brick your phone?
Cronus is my flavor of the day. It is a minimalistic rom that is very stable and fast.
See the ROM in my signature. U could use the same version, or the v2.5. Been pretty stable. Also have working GPS.
I have used both cognition 2.6 and Assonance 5. Both are very stable but Assonance wins hands down for being fast. It would be my recommendation

Hey guys just picked up a g1 for temporary use. I would just like to know which rom has the quickest response time when opening an app(browser, mail, dialer, maps mainly) and has the best battery life. I'm not interested in features, just need it ONLY to read emails and make phone calls and occasional surfing and gps. Should I just stick with stock rom then? Thanks
ADP1 stock rom... not tmobile.
cyanogenmod 5.0 I use is fast .
the android system is 2.1 .
May be you need Froyo by Laszlo? )))
i think frosense v0.9 is much stable and fast
If you want a CM6 ROM FroyobyLalzo, don't use the Kernel that comes with it. Once you flash the ROM flash the latest Ezterry Kernel for Froyo
AOSP Either FroyoMelt, or DreamTeam
CM7 - DietGingerbread
2.1 Biffmod I think :3
Personally I use FBL a lot. The Kernel in it is a hacked on so it has random reboot, so use the latest Ezterry. Then Set the cpu to 480 Max, 128 lowest. Screen off 352 max, 128 lowest. Then set that to interactive.

i've been using Laszlos' ROM but recently tried DreamTeams. i found out that is features froyo 2.2.2 instead of 2.2.1.
not sure whether or not this causes my problem but since "upgrading" i cant seem to find lot of apps at Market, maybe because of not verified fingerprint or such.
investigating are due. would be happy to use DT ROM because its basod on ASOP not CM and such.
Alright, so I've been searching around for a few hours now with no luck on this. I'm a bit new to all this and haven't really messed with my Hero in about a year except for updating Cyanogenmod every now and then.
I'm currently running CM7 and was trying to get my HTC Hero (CDMA) back to stock (or at least to a point where I can use HTC Sync). I've tried flashing a few ROMs, but I either get stuck in a boot loop or they fail to install. I'm not sure if I'm right in saying this, but is it because I'm running 2.3.7 and trying to install older ones from 2.1? I've looked for guides on how to downgrade, but I can't seem to find any; almost everything I find is really outdated.
I don't necessarily need to go to 2.1 if I can flash a ROM that allows me to access HTC Sync, but I haven't had much luck finding that either. If someone could point me in the right direction or tell me where I'm going wrong I would greatly appreciate it.
htc sync is just the software that installs all your drivers automatically but if your on an aosp rom you can still install them individually. If you really want to go to stock that badly id just use nfx stock its rooted but still completely stock.
The reason I was trying to get a ROM with HTC Sync was so I could use a method from theunlockr website (it won't allow me to post a link).
Anyway, I finally managed to flash Zero Hero Sense to it, but it runs so slow. I now have HTC Sync on it and I'm pretty sure I know how to unroot it from here, but I was wondering before I do if there is a stable 2.3 ROM that is really quick; I'm only searching for performance.
Kushdeck or jaybob are the fast, But using Aosp's 2.2 version 9.9.2 was the fastest compared to any other rom I've used.

Thanks! Trying them now.
with zero hero it seems to me you need to let it run for a little while, mine smoothed out after about a day of running it and is actually quite snappy for a rom that should max out our devices
or you can try cyanogenmod stable, its quite fast

Yeah, that's what I originally had on there, but I wanted some kind of change. I've got jaybob on there now and I enjoy it; very simple.
Maybe I should try leaving zero hero on there a bit longer, I really liked the look of it.

this rom is superb. no force closes and runs snappy and beautiful
since it's gingerbread i'd suggest installing another keyboard.
froyo's keyboard was so much better

I've been using Kushdeck and loving it so far so it has my vote between deck and jaybob.
Zero Hero Sense gets my vote!
