I always have new emails, after deleting an email it seems to then download an older email and mark it as unread, so then I mark it and any other unread emails as read and after a few refreshes maybe 30-45 minutes later it says I have X new emails, when I look its the same emails that I have already marked as read before and it will download another older email as unread. Not sure why it would do this, but I don't like always having unread emails, I like to be able to are which ones I have actually not read. I have a nexus one stock with 2.2 on it.

New to XDA here, I have a Nexus One and don't seem to get any notifications on my facebook saying that ive been commented or added. The only was i find out is when i get an email.. I've tried searching threads for this same question, But there was alot of them and didn't seem to find what i was looking for. Can someone help me out or does anyone else have this problem?
The Facebook app (default one anyway) only supports Messages, Pokes, Friend Requests and Event invites.
If you're only using that, then as far as I know these are the only events you'll get notifications for.
Someone may well correct the errors above shortly though
Ok... So for example if someone writes on my wall that won't be something that the default facebook app on my Nexus will notify me about...???
Not sure about anyone else, but I do not receive any sort of notification in the tray on my NexusOne when Facebook events occur. It would be nice if a little blue FB logo would pop up in the tray with some sort of badge to notify you of the # of notifications you have... but Facebook has no love for Android and our FB app is far behind that of the iPhone (for example).
fb tells me when i have messages in the tray. you have to have facebook sync enabled under settings>account and sync>auto-sync enable for facebook.
probably have to change notification settings within the fb app as well

Now by default, when I used the sms app, the time listed for text messages that i receive are 5 hours in the past (at 945pm i received an sms, but the time listed under the text was 445). Because when I my text messages that are sent with the proper time, so in the text message thread my text messages are always first and my recipients texts appear always before in the thread.
I what I didnt was I changed my time zone to account for the 5 hour gap.
So after I did this, most of the text message appear in order except for messages that are sent/received in the same minute. For texts send during the same minute, my sent always appear after even if it is sent before.
I read on these forums that this is a problem with time stamping of the text from the carrier or something, but there was not explanation on how to fix this.
Is anyone else having this problem and found out a way to fix it?

You can download an app called "Sms Time Fix" and put it to adjust by 5 hours. You can also download "Handcent" or another 3rd party messaging app and the time will be correct.
I had a very similar problem. After i got my phone unbricked and loaded the latest version of cognition onto the phone the timestanps were five hours off. I am now using handcent and have no probles whatsoever with the timestamps.
Don't forget to go into tibu and "freeze" your original sms program that came stock with the phone.

I just got the Incredible S a couple days ago and love it, glad I dumped my Xperia X10i for this.
I have ChompSms installed and every time I get a message I get it from Chomp and the phone book, how do I stop this?
Also, I imported my contacts from my sim card that I brought over from the Xperia and they show up fine and are useable but I can't move them into groups, when I go into a premade group (Family) and click to add a contact none of my contacts show up, how do I fix this?
Any help would be appreciated

When you say 'the phone book', I assume you mean the stock messaging app? If you open the 'Messages' app and go into settings, you can turn off the notifications and you'll then only see one notification (the Chomp one) when you receive an SMS.
transfer those contacts of your's to the phone or sync them with your gmail account, then probably you can add them in groups.

well, I got this issue from the very first time I used the galaxy tab, when I setup a new email on my stock email client witch I think it's awesome, I get instantly 25 unread messages witch are not unread. any thoughts about this and how to get ride of it without checking them one by one.

well I guess no body is having trouble with it! ahh I forget, I have no problem with Gmail but yahoo and hotmail gives me 25 unread message right after setting it up.

Anyone esle use Google messages?
I noticed that I'm not receiving all messages with Google messages. It's pretty annoying since having a reliable MMS is critical for my job and my business. And not having web interface for stock SMS app sucks.

yeah. it happened to me earlier. i was using google message to text someone. and i thought that person didnt text me back.
a hour later, i open samsung message, there' a new incoming text sent to me a hour ago.
