... gmail worked fine in FRF85B but since FRF91 it will take 30+ seconds to display emails when I go into the gmail app (as if the messages are only THEN downloaded to the phone).

Hello,
I’ve been using the phone for few days now and I’m having some problems with my e-mail. I have configured three e-mails accounts, 1 Gmail and two pop 3 mails.
The deal is that whenever I use the e-mail app I can check new e-mails, but I can’t see the old messages (the one I read before). Also, alter seeing the messages in the SGS the messages disappear from the phone AND from my e-mail server. I already checked the configuration and I have selected “Never” in the “Delete e-mail from the server” in the “Incoming server settings” of both accounts but it looks like as soon as the e-mail apps access my account it actually deletes the message from the server.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
Thanks
Do they disappear immediately?
Are you sure you don't check them elsewhere (standalone computer) where they ARE removed from the server?
Don't have that issue here, only once I check them on my home computer they are removed from the server and my phone.
I'm sure. I was traveling, and the only way to chck my e-mail was using the phone. When I got home I tried to download the messages in the outlook and no messages were downloaded. Than I tried to acess the messages using webmail and again I couldn't fine the messages. They just disappeared.
Tried again with the same results. I read the messages on the SGS and 10 seconds later the message disappears from the phone and from the server (I tried to read the messages using a Webmail page and there is no message in the inbox).
Looks like a Bug, but it's strange that I'm the only one that is experiencing this issue. I recall that I had a similar issue with my Archos, but I thought it was a problem with Android 1.6. It may be a issue with my e-mail account but it is just a simple pop 3 account. I see no reason why it would behave like that.
pop3 email vanishes
I am having the same type problem with my samsung vibrant.I set up a pop3 account using my cable account. I can send and receive mail but my mail vanishes from the inbox. It does stay on the server luckily. Nobody at tmobil or samsung has a solution except to use k9 but it happens on it also/ So they blame isp which makes no sense since it arrives. Very frustrating
I am experiencing a strange behaviour in the built-in email client of my i9000. It is set up with an IMAP account and I get a FC every time there are many bounced emails (returned for some reason) in my inbox. There are about 20-30 every day and as soon as I delete them everything is fine again.
It almost seems like those returned mails are "clogging" the client. Anbody with the same problem and/or a solution?
Thanks a lot...

rooted Froyo
ever since i upgraded to 2.2.1 (JPY) my mails in the e-mail application (not the google one) stopped being synchronized automatically, no matter what i set as mail checking interval there. i have tried without security settings and with "SSL (accept all certificates)". 3 accounts, all standard IMAP accounts (no exchange), fetching mail from them manually is working just fine.
when i watch "Running Services" for some time i see an email fetch background task appear and disappear every now and then.
i had stock 2.1 rom before and there it was working just fine.
synchronization is also turned on, although at least in 2.1 this wasn't necessary for automatic mail fetching to work, so i think it isn't related.
any ideas?
thanks already.
Same thing happened to me
I would really appreciate if someone would have a solution
I have a 1.2.1 firmware NST, rooted with nook manager. I followed the NTGAppsAttack tutorial and everything works fine, from market to Gmail. I can refresh the inbox, load different labels, etc. but the search does not work, Also when you send an email on Gmail, it shows sending message for a few seconds and when you go to "sent" folder, it is still "sending".
Am I the only one experiencing this?
*Update: the emails were sent after a reboot. don't know why really.. but I still can't do any search in my inbox.
Just logged in after around a couple of years being inactive.
Just would like to ask. Is there anyone using G1 exchange services in GMAIL?
I just noticed that after gmail and connectivity services have been recently upgraded, mail and other sync on my exchange services email are no longer properly syncing..
I have removed and added several times my work email (exchange) and doing that did not solve the problem that shows "No Connection" that appears whenever I access my exchange email using the default GMAIL service.
During initial set-up, all contacts, meetings and the likes including emails, sync. However, AFTER it completes the sync, it no longer syncs and always says "No Connection" on the bottom left side of my screen, and then "Reply" on the bottom right hand side of it.
On another note, error comes up if I try to sync "ALL" emails. So I ended up using just 1 month worth of emails instead of ALL.
Any idea aside from hard reset, to resolve this problem? Or is someone experiencing the same thing?
Thanks!
