Hi All, I have just got a t-mobile G1, I cant get it to connect to the pc. I have tried everything. The only way i've found is to use the sdcard on my pc & place it back on the phone. When I mount the sdcard on the phone the pc doesn't reconize it. I want to be able to try new roms and themes. Any help?

I had the same problem before. It turned out that it was a bad sd card. It would read fine in a card reader but not in my phone. I just ended up buying a name brand sd card and it's worked fine since then.
Are you sure its not an issue of the usb drivers?

my tilt wont recognize my mini sd now after i flashed duttys wm6.1 rom. actually ive tried two other sd's too and it wont recognize them either, unless i go into camera and it tells me it has detected a storage device would you like to save on it, thats the only time it picks it up, but i would like to beable to play the music on the card, well id just like it to recognize it. thanks.

Sounds like a bad flash. Try re-flashing. Make sure to hard reset immediately afterwards.

edit: after i flash the rom do i have to flash the radio again too?
well i reflashed the rom and it still doesnt pick it up =[, even if i go to settings, then system, then memory, the click storage card it says storage card not installed =[
have u tried other cards on ur phone?? plus have u tried ur card on other devices?? do that to determine if its ur phone's problem or ur card's problem
ok i have an hd2 that the touch screen no longer works the lcd displays fine but it just wont respond to any touch. So i want to send it back to htc for repair but i have CM7 on it so i am trying to flash back to stock 6.5 windows i enter the bootloader and it says: PB81120 SS-B3

And i put the stock on the micro sd and renamed it leoimg.NBH and it never tries to scan it just goes straight to serial and goes to usb when i plug in the usb but i cant make it look for the sd card i don't know what to do. can anybody help PLEASE

connect usb
when serial says usb
run hspl3
choose 2.08.0000
when complete, back into bootloader
serial -> usb
run the stock .exe

I never fails flashing via Micro SD 16GB
Am I lucky? I dont know, but I use Sanddisk. (I never try other brand with that capacity.

was running aospcmod4/29 when my phone suddenly craps out... will not boot cant nand it stalls during the restore process stalls during wipe to factory process will flash still but wont load.... wont get past the white screen with htc on it... so im guessing time to ruu.... question is no htc sync so how do i ruu? thanks for anyone who helps ive tried earching but am getting more irritated with the results than am with phone not booting

maybe im wrong but thought you had to be running a stock or sense base rom for htc sync to recognize the phone being that my phone wont load or restore i cant flash or nand back to a sense base or even stock
starting to think maybe my sd card fried cant get it to transfer files from my pc or to my pc it stalls out trying to format it but thats not working well either keep gettin windows cannot complete the format error or a sd card is locked message.... in other words having hell thinking about smashing it and filing on insurance.......

AFAIK you need the sync, cuz it gives you drivers, but there's many ways, go click around in my thread and after you get the basics done post back in here. It does sound like your sd card is borked though, if windows won't even format it. Are you s-off? Probably not Can you get to ADB? does it recognize your phone?
WAIT.... you can use recovery? Just grab another sd card and flash from scratch, no RUU, no nand restore, scratch, it should work.
If your s-off try reflash your recovery. If your not s-off then you should be. Then try to reflash your recovery.

ive ruued from cm6 before try going to your recovery and mount usb and do it that way
well got my new phone in and am rooted and running cmod and DH again now need to find a way to repair/format/erase the SD card I was using before cause 2gb card just isn't going to cut it.. lol yeah I searched the threads but nothing worked. said screw it and ordered new phone through insurance.thank you guys so much for the responses yall the greatest. wouldn't know of a way to fix my sdcard would ya is a sandisk 8gb class 2 am running windows7 64bit have tried the program sdformatter doesn't work ends up not responding tried the built in format option a no go even tried through the new phone which stats to check it for errors once I insert it but then shuts the phone down by itself after a few moments. again any help so greatly appreciated thanks

Well, I'm no sdcard expert, but I remember jasonmaloney posting some sort of sdcard help/fix ideas recently. Maybe try to read thru some of his posts or send him a PM? Or give in and get a new sd

looking at newegg now are these sdhc cards compatible witht he hero looking at getting a 8gb class 6 but cant find one thats not sdhc

Yeah after I posted that I remembered you were actually talking about recovering lost data on an sd, oops.
Just wanted to elaborate a little on this in case anybody searches for help and lands here.
The 'LINKS' thread Duce provided contains a link to an RUU (windows executable) which only requires the Android USB Driver is installed.

You can download an Android USB Driver package separately.
You can also find the HTC Android USB Driver here (bottom of page).
I have used this many times, even on computers without AndroidSDK installed, just the driver package (I keep a zip on my SDCard ~8 MB).

You might try and boot into a Linux Rescue Disk (i.e. RIPLinuX - (Bootable ISO X-Version))
Search right-click menu for GParted.
Run GParted, delete the partition(s), rebuild partition table, format new partition(s).
All this is done right in the GParted UI, just a few clicks.
This might help fix your problem, not really sure.

Was running CM7 for ages, have recently gone back to Official, then upgraded to the Official ICS.
Have noticed over the last 6 months or so, that when plugging the phone into my pc, it has gradually more often than not, stopped giving me the option to mount the sd to the pc. Have tried different cables/different debugging settings, setting different mount options (in ICS), to the point now that I haven't had the option to mount the sd for a number of weeks....
Anyone else having this? Beginning to think it may be a hardware fault...

I had a Slightly similar Prolem my PC wont recognize the SD-EXT Partition of my SD so. Is there completely no mount or did you just can´t see all of your SD card?

No, get no SD type notification on either the phone OR the PC when I plug it in. BUT, I do get notification that slow charging is enabled....

Started having the prob when I was running CM7...
And not exactly sure that if this problem persists, I can actually connect to anything TO flash a new ROM....
Airdroid is a much better solution than getting an SD card reader.

well but with airdroid you cant format you sd... This would be an option too. Backup with Airdroid and format SD completely
Beginning to think my hardware is almost shot... Well, bits of it.
Trying to connect the phone to the PC(s), get NO response when plugging USB cable(s) in. No reaction from device manager, etc.
Installed the latest AIO P990 Toolkit, and no recognition when trying to do various things with that.
Camera is also now not working ("camera has stopped unexpectedly, need to restart"...)
Suggestions anyone?

This is my first post, I hope that it's in the correct thread
I would appreciate some help as I'm unable to connect my I9305 to my Win7 (64) PC.
I bought the phone nearly two years ago from T-Mobile in the UK.
I rooted the phone and used CWM, I was running CM 10.1.3 and had no problem connecting via USB, to move files around.
Last Weekend I decided to Sim Unlock the phone, I tried some simple unlocks suggested on this forum without success. I therefore decided to take the phone to my local phone technician who wanted £10 to do the job, anyway, there is a pub close by and I have a good book
I knew he would have to DG the ROM so it was no surprise when he said it would take an hour.
Three hours latter he said it was the hardest phone he has ever done, but it was now unlocked and he used a Vodafone SIM to demonstrate the unlock.
I had a Backup on the SD Card of Spirit ROM 1.7 so I loaded that, everything is working ok, except that now I can't connect to my PC. The PC says it needs “Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM” Driver.
I have installed Samsung Kies3, and Microsoft “Windows Mobile Device Centre” and searched for and found drivers claiming to be “ Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM” for my OS.
Nothing works.
Attached is a screen grab.
I have accessed the Developer Menu and toggled MTP & PTP a few times, no luck.
I feel that this is a Windows problem, but detailing ROM below.

Odin can't "See" the phone. I could copy a stock ROM to the SD Card inserted in a Reader and load from there, if there are no other suggestions I'll try that.

Hi,mate which is the latest official version you had?
Can you enter in download mode?
Are you enabled USB Debugging from the Phone?
Phone is in DIAG mode, use EFS Professional to switch it back to MTP+ADB.

Yes, USB debugging is enabled.
Neither Odin or EFS can see the phone, even when its in Download mode.
I have tried using another PC
I cant seem to find any posts with the same problem and a Fix.

I loaded CM 10.1.3 onto the SD Card by putting the SD Card into a USB Stick and copying the file, then placing the SD Card back in the phone.
CM loaded ok but still no USB connection.
I took the phone back the guy who SIM unlocked it and now he cant connect either.
Grrrrrr
