Curious on how much control i can get on my phone

I recently has a phone stolen, it was a xperia x10, i had lookout mobile security as well as wavesecure, both programs were unable to track my phone. Not to mention Rogers didnt want to help with anything, they just wanted me to buy a phone.
I came here to see if the "pros" know if what i want is possible or not.
What im looking to do is..
1) have a special shut down sequence to shut down the phone.
2)disable the power button to shut down the phone, but to put it in a hibernation mode, or just some mode that if it falls into the wrong hands and they power it down, they think its actually off.
3)be able to turn features on or off via txt msg or some other means.
Lol wut

i want make my phone so that only myself will have control over it
could you point me in the right direction to somewhere that someone can help me?
i have a captivate but its a SGH-I896 (canadian version)
Try Mobile Defense. but if they know what they are doing there is not much you can do.
Even though you own a captivate this is not the right place to post this question. What you are looking for is a piece of software specific to the platform, not the phone.
I would Google. Maybe try googling for "Android phone remote disable theft". I saw quite a few hits that may be of use to you when I did that search.
Keep in mind most products will simple allow you to disable or remotely wipe the phone in case of theft but don't go much further than that.
thanks for your help!
I thought i had seen something like this on xda here is the thread link hope this helps heres the link hope i helped

Welcome to forums
I´m moving this thread to G1 section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668090
But next time, go to the Development section of the G1 and there are a ton of stickies for first time people. But the link above consolidates everything into one handy thread.
Also, use the Search button up there.

[Q] I think I bricked my Samsung Captivate!! Please HELP HELP! Urgent!

well yesterday i did a hard reset on my phone, basically erased all the apps on it. today i decided to go back to stock firmware. i was currently running some froyo mod called JC16 or something like that. (sorry) So idk what happened, i think i pulled out my phone a little to early from Odin3. and it basically froze. now whenever i turn on my phone it goes onto the at&t WORLD PHONE splash screen, and keeps blinking and doesnt go past that. I tried going into download mode by using all button ways, but all it does is go to the battery sign, and a rotating symbol followed by the battery (in grey color). I let it sit and wall-charge for about 5 hours, and still nothing. I keep trying to go into download mode but it wont work. I really need help, tomorrow i have a meeting, and i need this phone. please help, im so sorry if this is the wrong section, but i need help immediately. im a complete noob at this stuff, so please help out, and i cant get past the at&t screen no matter what, please help me out please!
BTW
i used this TUTorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884364
please tell me if i used the wrong odin3 or if i just took it out to early.
i have a SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE GALAXY S. from AT&T. i live in the US.
You are not bricked. Since it seems you can't use key combos, you have to force download mode either through a jig or adb

Google adb and download it. It is where it creates a virtual shell that makes your phone do stuff (laymens term). Then you type in command prompt. Adb then su then reboot download (after each step hhit enter)

Adb won't work unless the phone can boot
Get yourself a jig.
BTW, this place is made up of volunteers. No one is paid to be here or to help, so coming in asking for immediate help is somewhat offensive. Much of the help available here is of the do-it-yourself variety. That means you should do a search and invest some of your time in finding a solution, not expecting someone to jump just because you ask them to. This is a community, not a help desk.

then i came here and asked for help..-__-
i tried half the stuff that i discovered.
i invested about half my saturday trying to fix my phone. dont come and say that i just came up here and asked a question.
Had you read the rules you would have seen the one about it being better to post to an existing related thread rather than start a new one. There must be a dozen existing threads with similar titles you could have posted to. Instead, we now have yet another that someone who is respectful and does a search first will get no help from when yours comes up in the search results.

[Q] Running cat screen

ok so I ****ed up trying to load an ics rom. long story short, I can't get into recovery or download mode, and i can't connect it to my computer anymore.
when i boot it up, it brings up this damn running cat graphic, and I can't go anywhere from there. I have tried all combinations to get into download/recovery modes, and tried every obvious fix. is a jig my only option here?
ICS is NOT for noobs. congratulations on learning that.... you should have read that first....
try reading the ICS Q&A threads. use the "search" , "search this fourm" and "search this thread" features of XDA.

Even if it isn't you only option get a damn jig. Its so useful and we won't see these damn threads. As TRusselo said ICS ports are not for newbs. They are still in early dev and still need more time to be "friendly".
I know that people are getting mad because of all the new non needed
