SuperE v1.0.3 problem G1 usb mode sporadic - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is anyone else having a problem when you plug your g1 into your computer it only shows up on android to be mounted half the time?
It always charges and usually connects in usb mode after a restart, but randomly stops working..
Also (probably related) I can't unmount my sd card ever, plugged into computer or not.
Any ideas?
I love this rom by the way, it's super super fast and this is the only problem I have had in the months I've used it.
Thanks!

Yep, I've had the same trouble. SuperE 1.0.3, HTC Magic 32b.
Only rarely will I get the USB Debugging Enabled notification, seems to work after a reboot for a while then fails again next time I try.
Apart from that, it's by far the best eclair rom I've tried, awesome work

It's a common problem with any of the Cyanogen Eclair kernels, which SuperE is based on. It's also a huge pain in the butt.

Help: Front (Talk, Home, Back, End) backlights always on? Can't mount?

This morning I noticed that my rooted G1 running Cyanogen 4.2.1 for some reason started keeping the front key's (talk, home, back, end) backlight always on and slowly draining my battery.
I've tried removing the battery and SIM and keeping it off for a couple of minutes and putting it back in, I also wiped several times and installed the newest Cyanogen 4.2.4 ROM hoping it'd fix it, but it's still going on.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing it or how I can fix it?
Also, I don't know if it's relevant to that problem, but since a couple of days ago whenever I plug my phone in to a computer (tried 3 different PC's) it no longer gives me an option to mount or debug, but it still charges, and wiping and installing a newer ROM didn't work either.
Thanks for the help.
That sounds like a hardware issue, to this non-professional. I wish you luck.
well as far the the mount options...it probably due to cyans inclusion of usb tethering

Phone thinks its connected to usb all the time

I am not exactly sure when it started, maybe after installing rls14 of incubus's froyo maybe a bit before, but my phone always thinks its connected to usb. To the point now that when i just tried to install rls15 it says usb at bootloader screen, but then when i plug in the usb it says serial and i cant flash the new nbh. Think this is a hardware problem???
Telus vogue.
Edit, got it to flash, but problem persists. Also lost lock screen which means that even a screen touch can wake up the phone(SUCKS) not sure if its because it always thinks its plugged in or because I am trying the newest SAGA rom I will try incubus shortly and report.
Edit 2: flashed to a july nbh and rls 12 of incubus and all problems went away(although phone is a bit slower without JIT) just flashed back to the sept 6 nbh+rls 4 of SAGA and phone still thinks its plugged in all the time but at least the lock screen is back.

[Q] Captivate Won't Charge But Will Recognize PC Connection

Edit: It looks like this is a hardware issue and I'll likely try to get it replaced via insurance since I cannot revert to stock using Odin. It is impossible to revert without using Odin right? Thanks to all who read!
To start, I just want to state that I've searched and searched for answers/information on this (not just on XDA forums either) and I haven't found a similar issue - my sincere apologies if I missed it.
Quick "this post is way too long to read" Summary:
1. Phone will not charge
2. Phone will recognize PC connection via USB but with no functionality
3. PC will not recognize phone
4. All details on what I've done so far below
Friday 3/4/11 - I used a USB car charger (link below) to charge my Captivate with a USB cable known to be working (had worked on my Captivate before, works on my brother's Captivate). If you're asking why I used that charger... well I got it for free with my E-71. I'll never use it again. Anyway later that night I tried to charge my phone on my official AT&T A/C charger but nothing happened - the phone acted like no USB was inserted.

Sorry for the bootleg link, this certainly isn't spam but I'm not allowed to post links yet.
Since that date, my Captivate won't charge via AC power cord. My PC won't recognize it either, but here's the weird part - my phone recognizes when it's connected to the PC via USB. For example, I can connect the phone to the PC and it will state "USB connected" on the Android pull-down (top) menu. Since I have mass storage chosen as the default, it will give me the option to send or receive files from the PC from the same menu. However, if I attempt to actually take that option, the pop-up menu which allows you to mount your memory cards does not come up. In addition, if I have the phone in USB debugging mode and I connect to my PC, the phone recognizes that as well. The PC does not recognize the phone in any capacity, at any time. No matter what I've done so far it will not charge via A/C.
Background: I've had my phone for a little over 6 months now, I've been running Cognition 2.1.6 since about 3 weeks after I got it - before this problem I haven't done any modifications whatsoever since the first load of Cognition. My PC is Windows 7 Ultimate 64. To rule out a bunch of other things, I've tried to use multiple USB cords that are known to work with a different Captivate and my Captivate prior to this problem (3 to be exact), I've uninstalled and reinstalled all Samsung's drivers on Windows, and I actually reinstalled Cognition using the three button recovery mode. To further rule out external problems, I just put Serendipity on my brother's Captivate using the same USB cord and PC that I'm attempting to use with my phone. He had been using the exact same version of Cognition I was.
I of course tried to revert the phone to stock using ODIN in order to fix the problem. I attempted to use the two button method (hold volume keys and insert data cable from PC with Odin running) but of course since the USB is not working properly that didn't work. It's worth noting that the described method worked perfectly for my brother's Captivate to revert to stock in preparation for installing Serendipity. I attempted to manually unmount and remount my memory cards several times, change USB modes between mass storage, Kies, modem, etc - nothing seems to work. The phone seems to be completely normal except for this USB issue. One last thing that's strange is if the phone is powered off and I have the USB A/C charger plugged into it, I cannot turn it on. When I hold the power button a relatively small spinning circle comes up after a second or two near the top of the screen. It disappears when I release power. If I remove the USB cable and hit power again it powers up completely normally.
Because of all of the above, I'm 99% certain that the issue is with my phone (not from any other external source). My only uncertainty is whether this is a USB hardware issue or a software issue where the phone is trapped in some sort of limbo due to being in a quasi-data mode which is causing it not to charge via A/C power and causing the PC not to recognize it. Has anyone had an issue remotely like this? I've come to terms with the sinking feeling that this is a hardware issue and that the only option I'm going to have is for my phone to be accidentally run over by a car (in order to pay my $125 and get a "new" phone under AT&T insurance). If anyone has any suggestions I'll be more than happy to try, maybe we can get this thing fixed!
If you made it this far I'll just say thanks for reading my wall of text and thanks in advance for any advice you have.
Were you able to get this issue resolved? It just started happening to my Captivate earlier today, and I was hoping that a solution had been found.
I haven't been able to get it resolved, I actually just sort of gave up on it and went back to my old phone for now. I have insurance so I'm not totally screwed, but it's not that cool obviously.
Were you able to get anything resolved on your end? If so I'd love to hear how. The one good solution would be a package to restore to stock that you could run through update.zip on a memory card, that isn't available yet is it?
i have this issue as well. I flashed Cognition 4.4 and it ran just fine for a couple weeks and then it began not even recognizing the micro plugged into any power source or the samsung dock! debugging on or off, battery saver apps removed, all that. multiple reboots. nothing. it takes a spell of, if i'm lucky, recognizing it after i eff with it for a few minutes and flukes a decent charge but at night, it usually has a loop cycle charging effect. I can hear the "boop beep" charger plugged in sound over and over throughout the night.
i use the phone in my cars and everywhere with the same problem.
no resolution! HELP!!!
I came across the same problem with USB on ARMANI I9010 after installing Cognition5. The most unpleasant is that i have bought it abroad and there is no possibility to return it
Does any body found the solution?

did i just brick my phone? bsod, connected via usb as mass storage with OR

i had my phone connected via usb like a mass storage device with OpenRecovery when my pc crashed for god only knows what reason... it seems to coincide with the phone simply DYING, meaning that now it doesnt even turn on, no OR no nothing, the only thing that does work is the charging light when i do plug it in... however that is all i can do.
so did i just break it? if yes - someone shoot me... if no - how do i fix it? i dont care for whatever was on the phone since i just had it all backed up and was about to wipe everything and reinstall a new CM6 version since by mistake i've gotten myself a little older one... anyway. help?
EDIT: on second thought disregard my stupid face, something tells me that while doing nandroid backups and other crap i killed the battery and simply have to charge it, i was able to get back into OR however the phone turned off before i could connect it to the pc, i'll probably turn off panic mode and go sleep on it while the phone is plugged NOT into the pc for charging -.- I would still like to know if my theory is right... etc etc...

[Q] HTC One M7 Problem

Hello there 1st of all id like to apologise for this post in case there is a solution to this problem already and i didnt saw i but ive came from a 12h search now on the whole internet and found nothing.
-So the problem started quite simple my phone wouldnt charge when plugged in, i had Revolutionary Android HD 81.0 that time, so i decided maybe an upgrade to the newest version of the ROM would help so i downloaded and installed 82.0 version of it, still wouldnt charge, this moment i started to go freaky i was nearly out of battery and things were loking bad for me, i have my htc rooted, and it haves TWRP Recovery installed, ive wiped everything i could from there on it, os i have no OS now, my big problem started 12h ago, seems like my phone wont connect to the PC nor in fastboot, nor adb, doesnt even shows in device manager nothing, all i can only do is acess the bootloader and the TWRP on it, it charges tho now, but i need to get a rom on it and i simply cant, ive tryed all the Universal Drivers, and the newest HTC Ones even the Toolkit and nothing can detect my phone, tryed to clean up the mini USB port, Swiched cables , Swiched Ports, but nothing will detect it, since yesterday... when i deleted my ROM, im really desperate now since i cant seem to find a solution to this, any help please? any solution?

sounds like your USB port is broken ... theirs nothing you can do at this point until you fix the PC connection issue. Do you have a usb otg adapter to try and flash a rom from ? look on Amazon for a USB OTG Flash drive.

well that's how everything that's broken is .. it worked fine yesterday is nothing new. The USB port has 5 connections in it and the USB Port sometimes uses a thin flat cable to connect to the motherboard of the phone. So If the port on the PC works and the Cable is new / known good works on everything but your phone. that only leaves the phone port and internal connection.
Your problem began as not charging and then to no PC connection. The USB OTG will use the same pins the cable does and then you'll know if your port is gone or not

well the not charging problem had me shown um a few months ago aswell but dissapeared same day... thing is it was a software issue, since whenever it wuld stop charging it wuld go into "Car Mode" or Driving mode whatsoever its called, it wuld go in that mode alone and stop charging then exit and resume charging after few minutes, and its the same thing that started appening yesterday too, only this time i tryed to swich roms, and ive managed to get the 82.0 Revolutionary Android HD rom in there working but it wuldnt charge again, so i decided to wipe it completely via recovery, so now im left with recovery only on the phone, last time i got the rom via bluetooth since the PC connection wasnt set up yet, which was yesterday, but now i have no way of getting the ROM inside it, i mean its something wrong inside the phone, i dont believe the port is broken, but maybe some files corrupted? or something?
