Either I fail, or I'm completely unable to find a way to save short videos sent to me via MMS to somewhere I can share via email. Anyone got any help?
Thanks.
SOLVED.
I just downloaded Handcent. I fail.

I seem to be having a problem with the stock e-mail app on Soulife's Rogers Remix rom. Every now and then, a message gets stuck downloading..or so I think.
I've set the app to download the entire e-mail, and to download all messages off the server, but it still says "[This mail is still on the server]" and I can't find a way to download the message. If I quit the e-mail app, go back in, and click on the message..it says "Downloading" for a couple seconds, but I still get the same message.
Anyone know a way around this? Other than using K-9?

Are you using the stock Gmail app or the Email app? Try using a different email address or different Email app all together. Are you using 3G or WiFi, anything that could be interrupted?
Its weird I can send gTalk messages, and can run the sync in settings but it wont update my gmail. I test sent my self a message from my phone and it wont send Its said sending for the past 4 hours and if I scroll down it tries to load older messages and gets stuck. It keeps saying no connection.
Any Ideas?
Tried a hard reset and a soft and a three button reboot. Cant figure this one out.
Did you try both in wifi and 3g? Also do you have that option in astro to enable download of zips checked? That may also be the problem

Ok I was able to resolve it by clearing the data and cache for gmail and gmail storage. I went through my actions and discovered there is a limit to how many pictures we can attach to an email or it will cause this problem. The only way to fix it is to clear the data. I can send up to chunks of ten 5mp pictures without it stalling the gmail app. Hope this helps someone else.
I receive a picture mail and when i try download it, it say message not downloaded.
It was a multimedia type does anyone have this same problem. And anyone can add multimedia messaging

Are you on Froyo? If so, have you Tried the Froyo MMS Fix? Download it here. It may work.

I get that sometimes - i just keep re-trying the download and eventually it kicks in -
Are you on a mobile network?
I had this problem... Had to wipe and reload and I have been using the stock messenger ever since..... Fixed the problem though
I try everything and mobile network is on
On T-Mobile... When someone receives my picture message, they receive a message instead of picture that says that the media is too large, etc. All of my other phones automatically downsize the picture to mms size. Does the Moto X not do this? Thanks.
There has been a previous documentation of this error where the hangouts or default messaging app won't resize if you don't use the attachment button in the message composition window

I think you are having the same problem as described in this thread.
So what's the work around? Always send by using the attachment button in the messaging app? Using the share via mms button in the gallery doesn't work?
Thanks for the info. Weird... Is this an android or motorola issue.?
The error occurred again and I tried sending directly from the gallery and by pressing the attachment button in the messaging app. Both failed and the receiver got the error message.
Any other ideas on what to try?

If you're using the default messaging app, try hangouts. I did and it worked but I didn't really like the app so I'm using 8sms instead.

I wonder if the update to fix data and MMS problems on AIO would help with this mms problem.

Nope. The problem still happens even after updating to 4.4.2.
@_Arjen_ Not sure if this is right way to go about this but can you combine these this thread and the one below? they both address the same issue about MMS not compressing properly. I just wanna help clean all the duplicate threads going around here!

EDIT***
I found 1 more threads with the same compression issue using the stock app.

@TeeJay3800 @ApriliaM3 @Tijmen @wedgess Hi referring to my above post, could one of you guys combine the threads?? thanks in advance!
Can you share some screenshot here??
Hey guys i need some help. I've got a bootloader unlocked(30.B7) rooted, stock 4.4.4 Moto X and I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out why I cant send text messages but im somehow able to receive them. I can get sms and mms but cannot send. I've tried using different text message apps and none can send. I've tried factory resetting and that didn't help either. Anyone have a clue?

It's possible your message center (SMSC) number setting has been changed or reset somehow (maybe if you recently swapped sim cards or something). Try resetting it by following the guide in the link below (disregard the CyanogenMod branding, it's the same for stock ROM).
if you can't use *#*#4636#*#* then either make an activity shortcut to Phone Info or use one of the dedicated apps in the play store, like Radio Switcher (the apps don't do anything but open Phone Info menu).

OK so i gave this a try and had no luck with the getting my carriers SMSC. I also found on one site that deleting my stock sms app may be the problem? sounds kinda lame since I've done that on other rooms but on other phones. Could that be it?
Yes, if you re-install the stock messaging app it will work.
I've tried different 'stock' sms apps form the play store with no luck still.
By 'stock' sms app I mean the system app 'Messenger" that came with the phone that you uninstalled. You will have to search around to find it since it is not in Play. Next time just disable a system app, do not uninstall it. That way if it breaks something you can re-enable it.
OK so I found the stock sms app and installed it, still a no go. I even tried converting it to a system app using Titanium backup. I've found that in that app and also Hangouts when I enter a thread the app FC's. I don't know what else it could be

Did you set the stock SMS app to the correct permissions? Probably time to flash the system.
