Your software version must be 1.31 or below. Dont know why they dont tell that.

make sure your device have sofware version 1.31 or below., if not, downgrade it first.

Thanks for the replies guys. btw, is is possible to downgrade without rooting?

Tried to downgrade using 1.31 HTC Official. Now, the problem is that I am able to erase the cache but when I try to load the rom.zip, I am getting the error 'device not found'. Though to reinstalling HTC Sync app in win7. uninstall went fine but now it is not able to install saying some sub-app is not able to load. I think it will be better to load my home PC with XP and try the process again
Thanks a lot for the reply BTW.

You’re Screwed dewd..!!
Here are the steps to Unlock..
Step 1 : Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16684717&postcount=38
and do exactly what he says..(Every single Word )
It may help.. if the phone again showing “CID Failed “ or remote 42: Custom id failed” message.
Don’t worry.. What I did is creating a Gold Card and Reverted..!!
Here are the steps of creating gold card with another HTC phone when you’re in fastboot and Romless..
Step 1: Find another htc phone like Sensation , evo3d or similar phones.
Step 2 :Read thishttps://sites.google.com/site/roothtchero/goldcard-2
Step 3: Make a Gold card with the use of other phone based on steps in the above Link..
Step 5: Unmount the sd card from the other phone.
Step 4 : Copy the RUU(PG32IMG.zip) in the memory card , put it back into phone and Update it..!!
Done..
I’m also Adding Goldcard tool along with this Post..
Thanks to Nonverbose, santhoshpirate, John Anderton, klutsh's Goldcard Tool and XDA developers..
This goldcard tool actually worked for you? Our devices are using MMC2 and this isn't an option on the tool.
It worked like charm..!!

RUU fails because you need to be S-Off to flash the RUU it is a downgrade to 1.44...you have hboot 1.55, I dont know if there is a way to get S-off yet with 1,55, search threads to get S-off, then you will be able to flash the RUU
This is why I love this forum. I'm still in the noob starter program lol, so I don't post much at all yet, but the info you guys provide is priceless. Thank you THANK YOU very much!
did you try to use your HTC one from sprint on att network or any GSM net work with GOOGE EDITION stock android ? Please let me know. because i about to buy HTC one from sprint then convert to google edtion then use on ATT network.

[Help] HTC One M7 EU Bricked (Hard)

Hi guys.
Yesterday I installed a theme that soft bricked my M7 (was hanging in boot animation).
So I tried to restore my phone to what it was before in recovery mode (TWRP installed). After I wasn´t able to locate the backup I tried to install a custom rom to be able to access the HTC One again. This was the biggest fail. It deleted my /system and /data and my internal storage and the installation of the rom failed. Since then I am only able to access TWRP and Bootloader.
When I try to install a custom rom with TWRP install, this happens:
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/ViperOne_4.2.0.zip'
Updating partition details...
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to mount internal storage
Even wipe fails. Tried to install different roms (tried Guru Reset, too).
So I tried to reinstall my phone from the roots by using RUU. But this fails, too:
C:\Users\toolchain\Downloads\Compressed\HTCOneRoot>fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
sending 'zip' (234655 KB)...
OKAY [ 10.456s]
writing 'zip'...

(bootloader) zip header checking...

I tried to install the RUU with and without oem lock. Does not work.
Now I really don´t know what to do and I don´t want to send the mobile phone to HTC if I am able to fix it myself.
Extra information:

I hope you are able to help me. I really need my phone working. Never install custom roms again...
Thank you.
You are not hard bricked. First seems like you don't have the correct recovery, try reflashing recovery than sideload a ROM.zip
Second you can't flash the ruu.zip from bootloader, that' why you get that error, you need to run the exe file from the computer

And what exactly are you trying to flash? The file size looks way too small for a ruu.zip (which should be around 1GB, not 235MB).
TWRP most be 2.6.3.3 ver to flash Viper 4.2.

Ok, might be my fail. Now I have CWM installed.
Thank you for your try to help.
SD card issue can be fixed by flashing stock recovery and doing a factory reset.

HTC One Sprint Phone somewhat bricked

I have had Android phones since 2010 and have rooted all of them.
I have S-Off'ed the evo shift, evo-4g and the evo-4g-lte
Got phone today. Unlocked, tried to load a rom but got errors. could not Mount USB via recovery. when i did a factory wipe and rebooted it just sits at white HTC logo.
I can get back into fastboot and CWM recovery (can even fastboot different recoveries) But cannot Mount USB to copy a ROM over.
The RUU exe's fail..
I just tried a RUU.zip via fastboot OEM and got this

What should i do next?
when i run "fastboot oem rebootRUU" to get phone into recovery mode, then run the RUU, it is sitting at "sending " indefinitely.
trying "Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_3_04_651_2_RUU.zip" now thought the phone had the OTA of 4.06.651.9

Well i figured it out! And it was 100% my fault.
I needed to be in the "Sprint HTC one" forum. I was using the wrong Recovery and roms.
Everything is great now. and sorry to waste your time!
