You are amazing. This is going to help so much with porting over CM6
I'd like to take this opportunity to #blamewes because I don't have a Vibrant yet.
I love you. Now I can sleep

Good job man so does Radio work on these rom ?
thank you
Does this mean wes is gonna be a vibrant dev???
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using XDA App
Probably want to pull the Sims 3 out of there, it's a carrier exclusive and I don't think T-Mobile and EA will look lightly upon it being hosted here.
sweet, we got wesgarner developing for this phone?
Did Kingklick take over as wes for a while? why post a thread to a link with nothing there? expecially since there was already a thread waiting on a system dump link?
2 questions:
- What is a full system partition??
- Is Avatar not included because of legal reasons or because it wont work on other Androids?

Legal Reasons!
All other applications are included because they are as stock - not unodexed for other phones or anything
Also, I am 99% sure they are locked to only be used on this phone - plus G1/etc does not have near enough specs to run it
(aka if I get a request to remove it, will no prob - but with those restrictions I am sure they don't care)
Very nice...good work.
Oo, thanks for this. Will you also be working on the Captivate, also? Not sure to get this phone or that one, yet
Is it possible to install any of the apks? I tried a couple with no luck. Couldn't get Sims to work after installing and some apks won't install at all...
I'll be doing some dev work as I just got my Vibrant today. No eta though as I have been EXttremely busy moving to portland

Great thanks
why no recovery? Why no spl why did you leave these out?
Wow u guys are awesome. I wish captivate had a dev team like u. So well organized. Only wish vibrant off contract is cheaper then captivate.

IF I'M USING YOUR RESOURCES.ZIP, LET ME KNOW SO I CAN CREDIT YOU!
I didn't see anyone having done this before on a search, and I apologize if it's been done already. I put together all the audio resources I could find for ringtones, alarms, notifications, and ui, converted them all to very small .ogg's and put them in a new zip. It's a little over 9 megs and has a LOT of stuff. Enjoy.
Oh, and if you have more to add, post them. I'll convert them it and add it to the zip
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. Unzip
2. IF you are using a media2sd script, put the media folder on your ext partition. If not, use it to replace the one on your phone. I recommend using adb, or just mounting the thing in linux. It'll make it simpler.
3. REBOOT and give your phone some time to index all the ringtones. It'll take some time.
AudioResources.zip:
http://www.lighthousesolutions.info/AudioResources.zip
EDIT:
A LOT of people are downloading and nobody is posting additional links, which means (I hope) that I didn't miss any sound files. I'm glad I could help people out, and if anybody else has anything to contribute please POST! Thanks.
Also, I forgot to post this the first time. Themers and rom developers (hell anyone) feel free to use the converted .ogg's in whatever you want. They aren't mine to start with, but I figure I better make the statement clear.
Enjoy

Thanks! Can't have too many random ringtones to choose from I say. Already got the giant mega audio resource list from the other topic that includes all the various android phones, this will just help more.

I think this includes all of those, although if you find some that I'm missing, please post them. The main draw of this is that all of sound files are as tiny as possible, making it so you can fit them on internal memory if you want to, or just use less space. The entire thing is only 9.4 mb, and it includes the ringtones from the hero and magic.
Post any ringtones it doesn't contain so I can squish them down to tiny size too.

You don't have your rom in your sig, so my help will have to be very basic. I run cyanogen's experimental rom (not for the faint of heart) and huanyu's user customizable script. Other than that I can't offer much help. What I can say is that if you push the ENTIRE contents of this zip to your ext partition on your sd card and use huanyu's script with media2sd activated, you'll be fine.
Huanyu also has a version of his script for the stable series of cyanogens roms.
I have NO idea how to do media2sd on hero. I don't support hero as an os and will never use it unless the ENTIRE android community decides to go that route.
If you are using another rom let me know and I'll see what I can do.
I'm currently on Drizzy's newest hero build, but the guts are the same. I went back and did some research and that script is working thanks for the help.

Anybody with any additional tones to be added? I'd really like to beef it up!

Are any of them for a released or soon to be released android phone? I could put together a "legal" and a "questionable" vesion, although the latter might have to be off the forum (hint hint). I'd like to keep the one on here being full of nothing but official android and htc ringtones for released and soon to be released (ie leaked) android devices.
Noob Question...
I'm running CyanogenMod-4.0.4 + Recovery 1.4 and the community hero rom and was wondering how I should go about implementing this audio resources zip. Do i apply the update from the recovery? Or is there some other way of getting them on?
You can push them to /system/media....but I'd recommend using hyanu's userinit.sh script instead. media2sd is FAR superior for the number of sound files were talking about here.
any chance of this being posted elsewhere? Was looking to download this, but the site doesn't seem to exist.

Hello all. Jdfroyo is a free community based distro of HTC Sense ROMs for the Droid Incredible. My Main goal was to bring the community a fast, yet very polished rom based off HTC Leaks and official releases for the EVO and Incredible.
This ROM is based off of the Official OTA for the Inc. It is deodexed, zipaligned, and all bloat is removed, yet the rom still features the very handsome Sense-UI interface by HTC.
Sense Version includes:
1. Deodexed
2. Zialigned
3. Most bloat removed
4. VERY FAST!!!!!
5. Can be stably overclocked to 1.2 ghz !!!!
6. Can be used with HYdra or KING Kernels.
Bloat Removed:
Mode 10 and Magic smoke livewallpaper
VZNav
Footprints
MyVerizon
Footprints Widget
VisualVoicemail
Amazon MP3
Vanilla Version:
All Sense Bloat removed- including weather, clockwidget, and Rosie!
Themed vanilla
General Changelog:
9/7 update- added buildprop edit so wifi scans every 2 mins, removed oj wake
RC3- fixed boot.img problem and temed vanilla ROM
v2.5- inital revival of jdfroyo
Link: Downloads - MOD Edit: Links Removed
FAQ:
Q. Why should I flash your ROM? There are others just as good.
A. The jdfroyo project aims to provide a very customized rom that most usere will like. It is stble, fast and not buggy.
Q. You had some boot.img bugs in previous bugs. Is that dangerous?
A. The boot.img contains the kernel and ramdisc, so the boot.img bug did cause severe overheating, and couldnt mount emmc, but that bug was cleared up in RC3, so no worries (actuaslly i replaced the whole boot.img)
Q. Does this give me root?
A. If you flash a coustom recovery after flashing the RUU (and have S_off) Then it gives you SU perms again, but not for anyone who wasnt previously rooted before.
Q. Are there any specific risks in flashing this
A. THere are potential risks in flashing ANY rom (even the ruu). This rom was tested and proven that it is ok for day to day use and will not brick.
Q. What is this based off?
A. The newer versions (2.5 and up) are based on the offical 2.2 release, and versions before v2.5 is based on the old 7/27 leak.
Q. Why dont you have screen shots up? We have only been asking you for weeks.
A. I am putting up some screens tonight. They will be here and on my site.
Q. What is your site?
A. check my sig (and no i am not trying to website spam)
Q. What is required before flashing this ROM?
A. S_OFF, custom recovery (Clockwork or AMON_RA) the 2.15 radio and 92hboot.
Q. Where can i find the things you mentioned in the previous answer?
A. 1.SOFF: www.unrevoked.com/forever
2. Closkwork or Amon ra: Clockwork can be found on unrevoked.com/forever , Amon can be found floating around on XDA
3. 92 hboot and 2.15 radio: can be found on adrynalyne's site
PLEASE eNJOY MY ROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't this the same thing as before?

I thought you said you were done developing for the incredible.
I mean, I couldn't care less... just wondering why you decided to come back after two times of saying it.
And stable at 1.2.... hmm. I'd like this to be tested by others before I try this.

Is it just me, or do you always come out with a new version of *cough* a rom with almost the same name and number as skyraider. I guess it's like"the distinguished gentleman", if you have a familiar name, people will vote. At least make some attempt to be different so no one accidentally downloads this crap. How about POS ROM VERSION, oh hell, does it really matter?
And you use the same bull**** op almost every time. "Sorry no screens or info, just check my website, but I'm not spamming my website, and if it doesn't work, use other peoples fixes who I'll give no credit to ever never, but my rom is prefect and full of awesome." Give it a rest bud.

I have to tell skyraider that my pinch to zoom isn't working with his rom, cuz those screens must be hella small.
Rather than continuing to have to discuss what is obvious to us all, let's try the objective approach with this. I downloaded jdfroyo Sense (for comedic value, honestly) and opened up the updater-script.
Going through this in sequence (I did not change the ordering):
So far so good.
Code:
format("MTD", "system");
mount("MTD", "system", "/system");
Deleting files on a freshly formatted filesystem. What's supposed to be there?
Code:
delete_recursive("/system/etc/init.d");
delete("/system/xbin/a2sd");
delete("/system/xbin/apps2sd");
delete("/system/xbin/e2fsck");
Data isn't mounted, but delete operations are running, on /data.
Code:
delete_recursive("/data/dalvik-cache");
delete_recursive("/data/boot-cache/");
delete_recursive("/data/a2sd/");
delete("/data/.dalvikcache");
delete("/data/dta2sd.log");
Runs a script against /data, which still isn't mounted. Then extracts the contents of his zip to it. Into the void.
Code:
run_program("check_data_app");
package_extract_dir("data", "/data");
set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/data/dalvik-cache");
Deleting more files on a newly formatted volume.
Code:
delete("/system/xbin/busybox");
delete_recursive("/system/xbin");
Oh, now we'll put some files on system. Since we've formatted it and deleted files which weren't there.
Code:
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
I could go on but I think the point is clear. He's either not reading his updater-script, doesn't understand any of it or both. I'm going with both. So yeah, download at your own risk.
Still using evo framework?
Hey does anyone know what the artifact is in the middle of the 3rd screenshot?
Just wanted to let you guys no that you can now go into the downloads section of ROM manager and you'll see the Sonofskywalker3 section. Blackhole is not quite ready for release yet, so you won't see it there, but I have put up a large collection of live wallpapers, multitouch keyboards from camelot, boot/shutdown animations, and launchers that you can now flash easily straight from your phone. I haven't been able to test these since i don't have a vibrant, so i'm relying on you guys. Please post any problems you have wiht anything in ROM manager to the official error reporting thread at www.androiddoes.net/sonofskywalker3 or right here in this thread and i'll try to keep on top of it. thanks for all your support guys.
Awesome! Checking it out now.

Dude, can you please send me instructions on how to get this added to rom manager.... I have tried koush with no luck.
Awesome you were able to!
Will this need a ROM Manager update, or is it all ready to go? (I'd look myself, but I'm flashing back from CM at the moment..)
Edit: Oh wow, is this nice. s15274n- It's under the download rom section. I know it mentions something about the premium version, click that.
to answer both questions at once: www.github.com hosts all koush's code for rom manager manifests. If you open an issue there with the code you want added one of his team will add it. once it's added you show up in rom manager instantly, no upgrade needed, because when you click donload rom in any version of rom manager it parses the code at github.com in manifests.js and looks for any vibrant = true tags, and if it finds it, it displays the info. I personally forked the manifest, edited it, and used a pull request to get it committed to the main manifest. if you want help getting yourself in rom manager, look for me in #sonofskywalker3 on irc tomorrow evening and i'll be glad to chat with you and walk you through it.
I love you...whomever the fark you are!

I'm afraid you have me confused with someone else. I have never released a ROM for galaxy tab, only one before this was the version for fascinate, and it's working great on my own phone as well as many others. Also I have never posted here asking how to make a ROM. I got started by reading tutorials online, getting help from other devs in IRC, and a lot of trial and error with my own phone before I ever released my first ROM. I don't mind criticizm, and welcome error reports, both are ways to improve the final product. However they are only helpful if they are true. If you can link me to the posts where I supposedly did these things I may better understand what you're talking about.
As far as the live wallpapers they are from the fascinate, I was hoping they would be installable without modification. Is anyone else having this issue with other roms? could you please get me a logcat during an fc so i can see what it's doing? also please try the digital rain wallpaper, it's from the market so we can use it as a kind of control group. thanks.
Sonofskywalker,
you will have to excuse the comments and tone of some in here. Recently this section has many unacceptable outbursts. I agree, issues must be raised in a constructive manner, rather than just being rude.
thanks for your work and I'll take a look.

Actually, the bootanimations are firmware independent, so they'll work fine, the keyboards have been tested on 2.1 on the fascinate and they worked, so give them a try, and the livewallpapers came from 2.1 on the fascinate, and don't work on at least 1 2.2 rom, so if you can try them out that'd be great. and all these updates do is add an apk file to your system partition, so there's no worry of bricking as long as you have a nandroid backup.
that being said, I need a few people to test the final alpha build before i release it as a public beta, just got it uploaded this morning. Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested, and i'll be glad to send you a link. please note you'll need to have a jk6 modem and kernel installed, but i'll be glad to send you links for those too.
12/23/10- V6
- Easy root. You only need to install Superuser app from Market.
V5
- Wifi semi-working (tend to crash the phone on Wifi sleep timeout)
- Calls working but no DATA for me (coolya had data, which means: erratic) - voice not tested.
- kind of laggy, but there is a lot of headroom.
- GPS working only by Wifi/Triangulation networking - No satellites.
Fantastic job by coolya who did most of the advancement, for Wifi, baseband and also OneDRAM partitions configuration. Really really awesome work.
We were so lucky the snow forced him to stay at home instead of going to work
This time you can really start to play with the phone, install apps, surf on the Internet all this with Gingerbread! kind of cool
12/22/10- V4
-Buttons fixed thanks to the contributions of xcaliburhands, pawitp, fenfir*
-No need to create some directories manually anymore.
-Kernel available as ClockWorkMod recovery update.zip - be sure you have access to 3 buttons !
*I havent tested this beta so im assuming the buttons are remapped properly for only i9000 using that kernel he posted. but if i read on twitter correctly, all phones have proper keymapping, not sure.
12/19/10 - V3
- SDcard now works
- As internal storage
- As USB storage
12/19/10 - V2
improved pre-init script and mounts:
no more insufficient space
improved dual-boot solution
faster boot
faster disk I/O

checked the Nexus out and what I thought was correct. It seemed like a vibrant hopped up on 2.3 and the rest wasn't much different hardware-wise.... Now super-curio has proven this assumption to be correct
....congrats and excellent !!!
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it in the other thread,I don't feel like reading through 39 pages when its already almost midnight and I need to wake up at 7am,but as a temporary solution until we get buttons working,as long as they didnt change anything major in the filesystem,you should be able to change the keylayouts file to make vol up and down remapped to home and back (or menu,search,... whatever you want.) I haven't flashed this yet,so someone please let me know if this works. If I remember correctly keylayouts are in /usr/keylayout/ and there should be a few files in there,one of which is the hardware button mapping,open it in a text editor,there will be a bunch of buttons on the left and their names on the right,find vol up and change it to say HOME,find vol down and change it to BACK. save the file and reboot,that should make them work as what you assigned them to.

Run the RUU
Wait a bit until the Rom Update Utility lets you press 'Next.'
Don't press 'Next' though,
Go to your Start Menu > Run > type in %temp%
Now sort the folder by 'Date.'
The first folder will be the folder that has a 'rom.zip' inside of it inside of the 2nd folder.

Porting a ROM is one thing, porting a kernel is something else entirely.
If you've never done a port, look up wildstang83 porting guide. It'll at least point you in the right direction.
I'd like to help you out with this project if you need it. There is a port of this on the DHD forums so maybe we can learn something from it:

I thought of that too. But since the DInc is a 'QSD' (1000Mhz Qualcomm Snapdragon) and the Desire HD and the Desire S are 'MSM' (Mobile Station) We can't use their ports to help us :/
Being that the DInc is a qsd8k (8650 to be exact) we'll need to keep an eye out for ports with the same processor.. Oh man I wish the old Desire could get a port of this, lol. We'd have no problem at all..

Saw nobody was getting this started.
I am currently working on it a bit but I defenitley need help compiling a kernel.

Kernel Source:
HTC Sensation XE (HTC Europe) - ICS CRC - 3.0.16 kernel source code
Look at the 9th one in the list
I hope that we can get this working for our DInc's.

kernel source wont help you at all for the 3.xx kernel from other htc phones, so dont bother
i ported sense 4 to the inc 2 (admittedly a lot easier cuz its msm7x30 which most of the ports are) and will give it a shot on my og inc time permitting
see inc2 port here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553357
the hacked .35 kernels from your ics aosp roms *should* be good (only need zimage) and then we d have to hack up the ramdisk from the htc one to work well enough to boot
When you say

do you mean we'd need the zimage from HTC One V?
Edit: Updated first post with the zImage and Ramdisk that I extracted from the One V RUU.

no, you need the zimage from one of the ics aosp inc roms and the extracted ramdisk from the htc one v
Okay. Thank you for clarifying for me.
I'm getting down to business now ^>^

Well, we're at a standpoint of figuring out which files need to be added/edited from the One_v ramdisk so we can make a working kernel.

can you get a logcat or pm me a ROM link? I'd like to look. No guarantees of success. Sadly the sense devs that could figure it out I think have left the incredible.
Also a working ramdisk still doesn't mean the kernel is good. The kernel may need some changes.

I'll upload the ROM port I just made a few days back. It has most of what I thought might work..

I'd like to try tonight if I can. I'm hoping that an HWA enabled AOSP ICS kernel works with it.
I'm uploading now. Been busy all day.
I think the only way that an HWA enabled AOSP ICS kernel will work is if we figure out which parts of the ramdisk we'll need to add to it.
I have the Ramdisk extracted and uploaded on the OP if you need it.
Edit: Upload at 38% - I have a terrible connection speed for upload bandwith, which is at 49Kb/s..
Ahh! Excited..

I'm actually stabbing in the dark as much as you. Never messed much with roms. I'm more of a troubleshooter rather than a rom/kernel chef. I find tweaks and adapt for my kernels. But I noticed there's no init.inc.rc in that ramdisk. Other than that my mind's dead so I'll have to look tomorrow/this weekend.
I apologize for the delay in posting the port link. You'll have to forgive my internet. But, I assure you that the download is as fast as I can get it with my own server that I use.
EDIT: Port is on the next page --->
Just to make sure that everyone is on the same page - This port is NOT a working port.
It will flash to the DInc and it will install properly but it does not boot. And it is obvious why, lol, because we are still missing the piece to the puzzle to make a working kernel.
I hope that this will give you what you need to get this project I started the thrust in the right direction.
As for my method thus far, I am using the zImage from and AOSP ICS port with Ramdisk parts from the One_V.
Post Script - Today is my third year anniversary being apart of XDA. And I can only hope many more years to come.
CHEERS ALL!
