Theme Gallery Up And Running HERE!!
Ok I got the swine flu so I decided to do something productive. I have seen many posts on here talking about a theme page and no one made one that is gallery stile. Every one I found is like Themedroid (not functional yet) and others that are forum stile. So I sat down and made a gallery for them. I updated this with all the themes posted here on xda. Yes I sat down and added every theme I could find on xda to punk-in. If you would like your theme removed please email me the name of it and I will gladly remove it for you.
I do not take any credit for the themes I just wanted a better way to view what each looks like. Now make sure you view what is required to run the theme. I am not responsible for bricked phones. Also I had to break them down into old themes, cupcake themes and hero themes. Now If I get good feedback I will organize it much better but for now This is how it has to be.

wow dude! What an implementation of a great idea! I like it! Good way to just scan through themes and see what they look like before even going to the threads! Congrats, dude!

Not to shabby. Would be good for new people looking to check out themes. One thing I would change is you have 3 sections: Hero, Cupcake, and old. I would change Cupcake to just Android or something more general since cupcake is kind of old news now. Might confuse people running Donut.

how about section for themes for donut?

Could you organize them by build?
Saw a few that I liked but none that would work for CM 4.1.999

I think you should do that. Searching by build would be the easiest way for me to find a theme I like.

Everyone is right the site looks great thanks for all the hard work. I do agree that a little more detail about what ROMs these Themes work for would be nice. Maybe the ROM specific Dev name like Cyan, JAC, Haykuro, etc would be nice but anyone could download a theme and make it work for that rom just by moving the files around. With 7 Zip and the Auto Sign tool it a peice of cake.

Thanks for the input. I feel ok to sit up and check up on some of my projects. I looked at alldroid.org and allot of the themes are there also. I will make a post there and see if they like the idea. I do not want to step on anyone's toes. I am just trying to get away from viewing all the themes via forum. I like to see all of them together and pick the one I like.
I also keep hearing people want it to have a Donut section. I will draw up an android maby eating a donut or something. LOL.
If everyone wants it more organized please give an example. Like All Cyanagin put together? Or all builds separate or how to do it? I would like to get it all set up now so in the future people can just add a pic an a link to there theme and people could look at them and do what they have to do.

There is a search bar. Just click the link in the upper right hand corner called "sidebar" From there it will pull up a window on the left with a search and login. I know it is hard to find. I am thinking about moving it.

What do you mean? Is there another site that is better. I am just doing this to help but if there is another site that is better I would love to NOT have to maintain this. Please let me know.

I have come to the conclusion that light colored themes result in me keeping a dimmer screen, which results in a significant increase in battery life. Thus I decided to make a custom theme for my G1. I am in the final months of my PhD dissertation, and thus wanted a soft relaxing theme to look at when stressed. The outcome is dedicated to the most relaxed creature I know, my rabbit Cloverdale.
I want to thank Stericson for making this possible, and for such an excellent app (I hated to sign zips on ubuntu). Here is what I have used from other devs:
1. djengizz: I used your blue droid boot shine png, your framework-res files for eclair, and your battery pngs for the lockscreen. In addition, I used your files for Meltus's audio hack, which I thank you both for.
2. jroid: I used your Droid font metamorph pack, it looks so good.
3. Nebrada: I used your notification bar from the plastic theme.
Thank you to everyone.
In addition, I have made my own lockscreen, a custom boot animation, and added many nice wallpapers to the launcher. Feel free to use anything from this theme that I have done.

I was angry this morning, if anyone is still running this theme, and wants updates, just send me a PM and I will take care of you. I am just very disturbed how this person knows my wives name, and whom they could be. I know that the person is named shane, and has gmail address [email protected], but that is all I have found so far. He has been banned from many other forums (including wikipedia), so info on him is scattered. I am honestly a little worried that my wife has a stalker.
But, as I said before, it is quite unfair for me to stop updating because of one person, so let me know if you use this, and I will take care of you.

I sincerely apologize for this then, as it coincidentally happened at a very bad time. My wife has had someone messing with her, sending sexual/violent messages and images, and you coincidentally used her name in the post. This really freaked me out, and I am sorry for the way in which I responded, but I have feeling very protective of her with all that has been going on.
My apologies again, I was completely in the wrong here.

Please do update when you have the chance. There are so very few light themes out there. Everyone is doing all these dark, almost gothic themes.
(Truth be told, Plastic was my favorite theme, but nobody updates it anymore.)

From what I remember, this theme was written in a way that it should still work, are there issues arising when it is flashed?

AGx-07_162 made a theme out this, but he had to leave the project because of lack of time, so he left it all to me.
I tried improving that, but had no luck XP and with school and hoemwork i have no time too :/
So I'm posting the private beta AGx sent me, the metamorph package i built (it gives me blank screen tho) and the PSD mockup, feel free to continue the theme's progress if you like

Theming is all actually pretty simple.
If you want to make it yourself, I suggest starting with the guide here:

From that you will understand how to theme and insert images. The only problem is finding the correct apk to change.
I'd gladly help guide you in making this theme if you'd like.

there's no reason. close it for now. let people PM him if they want to give suggestions or help. he doesn't even know how to theme and he's doing what lucky tried to do where as lucky had some knowledge/experience. just because your last theme became a reality doesn't mean this will. there weren't many who helped lucky and it took forever. what makes you think someone will speed up a theme like this? learn it and work on it on your own and slowly get others to help if you can. that's how you'll get somewhere. don't post until something is ready. i told lucky this already, and now i'm telling you. no hard feelings.... just a reality check .

the "other ones" were over-hyped and promises that weren't met. he is neither hyping anything or promising anything and no one is posting uncalled for comments, so it should be kept open unless it starts to go "downhill"

I dont know about others but Kryogen's last concept actually turned into a not very hyped theme, because I never posted a "comming soon" or even spoke a word of the fact that I was working on it until I released it.
As for you Kry, this looks even better than your Atlantis concept. May I have the PSD? I've actually been talking with someone who's interested in making a theme so I may colab with him on this (or just help out with it.)

I really love the dialer, the rest looks good but its not something I would use. I'm a stock android guy, but the dialer looks amazing, please don't be offended

I just wanted to say how ez it was to pose as some noob ... (samsungfan05) on IRC and get the knowledge of how to change the status bar on Generation X to the Revolution 3.6 solid black bar. All you have to do is, go into the framework.apk that is in your theme that you want to use as the base using your rar/zip program and drag n drop the images from the framework in the theme you want to take stuff out of, into res/drawable-hdpi in the base themes framework.apk ... APKs evidently open up with zip programs so i could have been doing this since i had my nexus one. hell i think i might post my dock i used and made for my iphone it was hella slicc. The whole process is really simple as hell I just wanted anyone that wondered if you can do this sort of thing (i used to decompile and customize themes like hell on iOS) in android, you can. it's not any more involved either... just drag n drop. if you can't pull that off... kill yourself.
So, no more can you port this theme threads for me, i'm just going do the **** myself... or if someone has a requests, for a generous donation, i will port it for you since I am well on the way to doing so. Peace

There is actually a lot more to it.then just editing the drawable hdpi.folder in the framework...,most of make at.minimum edits to over to.xml.files in the frameworks......and use smali/backsmali to edit the service.jars
Also why did you have to pose as someone else to get information...,everyone is more than willing to share what they know

good point...personally i refuse to take donations for theme ports and ive done like 5 or 6 at this point....but really again...there is much more to themes than drag and drop

There really is. I've been playing with it a bit in an attempt to port the NeonGT theme from the i9000 but there's more to it than swapping a few .png's and apparently I'm not totally getting it yet. A few more hours of learning and I think I'll have it down though.

in terms of total number of files? then yeah its mostly pngs...but really the xml edits are what do it imo
if you need any help with what files/programs you need to get going just pm me and ill help ya out

however I do understand all the work that goes in to it.
I'd like learn about this kind of stuff, is therea tutorial or overview anywhere?

theres not one tutorial per say (well updated one) personally i scoured xda/mydroidworld/af and bit by bit have found most of what ive needed...its kinda jumbled

whata duche. hey everyone, im gonna charge for this open source stuff that i ripped off someone else and changed a few icons. you can get it free from, well right here on this web site, but...give me money cause im awsome.
its one thing for a dev who makes us awsome ROM's and kernels, or themes they create them selves, hey they deserve it. but to ask for a donation for something you ripped off from some one else?? duche bag.

Color Me Android

So some of you may or may not remember a little old blog called Color Me Android from back in the day that was a screenshot based site. Well, it went down some months ago, and that was that. However. I tried to put a theme on my phone the other day (It's supposed to be so simple with the theme chooser, yeah?). Unfortunately, because it's so easy with CM7 and MIUI theme engines, that themes are EVERYWHERE. It takes you about a bloody hour just to find one.
So, I brought CMA back.
As a theme site.
It's a visual directory of all CM7/MIUI/ADW - type themes. It's in Open Alpha, and I'm inviting people to come, register, sign in, submit screenshots (Yes, I kept the orignal screenshot part of the site there) and help me find bugs while I finish adding themes. I've got 45 on the site so far. And I'm working my way down that ginormous list of themes that stickied in this forum.
So yeah.

Once you register and log in there's a submit screenshot link that pops up so you can submit and view screenshots (a glorified 'post your homescreen' thread - but it's just like old school cma [hopefully])

I already have the "official" themes there, and I'm going through the miuiandroid forums to find more. It's gonna take a while to catch up.
Also - I am looking for people to help me add themes. So if you're interested, respond

Indeed you did. I can always go in and edit it, but it's nice for the people to know what they're doing. Especially since I'm the only admin/editor for the alpha. That way if I change something, I don't have to worry about telling other people about it

i was cleaning out my drive and i found that sig you made for me about a year and change ago lol.

really like the ui of your site, seems user friendly for theme users to interact without searching for hours

AH. I got my new phone and then went to your site to find some nice styles but noticed its changed a bit.
Am right in thinking the old site was more customised home screens than themes?.......If so is there anyway to see them again because thats what I really liked. People saying what widgets they used and custom graphics to make cool buttons etc.
But still the site is good! Maybe have an option to go back to the old version aswell?

Yes, it used to be a screenshot based site. I am going to be bringing that functionality back in the near future. However, I am still working on finding decent hosting. I can't afford anything so I'm looking for a sponsor. Until I find one, production is at a standstill. But yes, the screenshot portion of the site is going to be at screens.colormeandroid.com when I get everything set up eventually.

Hey, I truly truly truly miss Color Me Android. I saw the new site up a little bit ago. Is it back down again? Also, will there be a way of getting the old themes/screen shots back? Like archived? Anyways, Hope to see this again soon, I need inspiration for my Droid!
