I understand their are others. But this one has drag and drop. And its free.
BTW, I wouldnt use apps like these for large files (ie. Roms). They are better suited for small file sizes.

Ya, I thought at first it was like wifi manager...but its not. I need something like that so I can send ROMs without data cable. I forget which one I tried before, maybe the one you first mentioned, but it wouldnt send ROMs. Just hang and file wouldnt get sent.
Keeping the screen on helps. I wouldn't use it for anything over 10 MB's.

As title reads is it possible to DLNA on the DINC or is it something that has to be in the hardware or baked in the ROM?

i couldn't even get the thing to work on the Droid X, but here's the .apk and an .apk for the system (i think???)
I don't know, but all i can say is, the X is overrated and overhyped, its not nearly as good as the incredible, even with that large screen, the AMOLED on the Incredible is much much nicer. I'm swapping my X for my Incredible back, I never had so many problems with my Inc as i have so far with the X.
What exactly is DLNA?
Not going to work. There is specific framework on the X that is for DLNA as well.
If someone's REALLY, REALLY dedicated... then they can just grab the 2.2 (or 2.1) sources, code in support for DLNA (assuming the framework is open source... I didn't look into that), and build it for everyone to enjoy.
Good luck with that.

That is promising though. I was hoping it was just software based. It's beyond my skills at this point so I'll cross my fingers and hope someone can either port or create an app for it.
Thank you all for the replies!

I'm using mTorrent Lite for when im connected to WiFi. Works great. Obviously not suggested when on 3G.
what about something like PeerGuardian/equivelant to go along with it?
I'm using mtorrent as well but only getting 1mb sec load speed. I have 4 meg DSL.. shouldn't it be at 400k a sec?
In the same vein, has anyone seen a usable Usenet app?

I'm trying to use mtorrent but every time I try to add a torrent, nothing happens. It keeps saying to add a torrent. How is everyone else using mtorrent.

I use NewzDroid and it does exactly what I expected it to. They also make the software Unrar and Unrar Pro... it would be really nice if they would just integrate the applications together though.
I see that there is now another offering on the Market called Droid NewzLeecher (which appears to have some pretty bad reviews)
The app that I use is ttorrent and I love it. I have tried all of them and this one is by far the best. I get speeds on average of 250kb/s but that might be due to the speed of my wifi connection.

I don't have a Xoom, but on my Nexus One I use the free uTorrent remote app. This is not torrenting on the phone, it torrents to my home computer running uTorrent. However, the app allows you to download the files from your home computer once they are completed. It is a very clean app and works great on my phone, so if it runs on the Xoom and that way of doing things works for you, it might be a great solution.
I'm aBTC on my desire. Give it a go.
swarm is one of the best clients i've seen, but it is $5.
i have tried both ttorrent and dtorr and neither one works. i can add torrents but they never start downloading.. i am using bamf remix 2 beta 5. any ideas? has anyone been able to get torrents to work?
Am pretty sure Torrents around here are taboo and not to be discussed but I could be wrong. I'll follow the thread out of curiosity.
I dont see why? torent apps are 100% legal its what you downlload that "Could be illegal" and he was not asking anything about that kind of stuff
I'm on stock Rom and ttorrents works really well.

I use swarm. The downloads start pretty fast and i haven't had a problem so far.

Make sure in torrent under settings that you uncheck the option to use WiFi only.

this is what i do as well, it works really well for adding torrents to deluge on my vps. as far as using a torrent client on your phone that downloads directly to your phone, i would not do that personally unless you are using a public tracker like thepiratebay since any reputable tracker is most likely not going to allow a tracker from the android market. i tried andtorrent or something similar just to see if it would work on one of my private trackers and i was immediately banned from the site for using an unapproved client.
I really wish people would quit getting all bent out of shape about torrents. Not every torrent is something illegal. However, it makes it easy to see who has ever downloaded a linux distro by how much they think torrents are bad (hint: is a primary way to download most linux distros).
If the apps arent working already made, just compile one using android NDK (native development kit) (provided by google if you search) or try something like http://inportb.com/2010/10/17/debian-packages-on-android-phones/. The later lets you port debian arm packages to your phone for use and debian includes the biggest command line torrent software out there, rtorrent. For a cli app, rtorrent is very easy to use and you can just let it run in the background without the fear of it hogging your system like some gui apps might. Only downside with using debian packages is they're probably not going to use the same libc built into android, which runs faster, but oh well, shouldnt make a huge difference.
I liked swarm but I have had the best luck with andtor.
Anyone have this apk? I paid for it, did a factory reset when I sent it off for the 4g upgrade now this app has been removed from the market which is BS cuz I can't redown load it. Am I just SOL on this?? I liked this app
It wouldn't work. The server for downloading the roms is defunct. I have the apk from an old version of snesoid and it doesn't connect.
google rom downloads. I can think of at least 4 extremely popular sites off the top of my head.
What patass said.
I know it's inconvenient to not be able to use a native android app to download them directly to your XOOM, but I've found that it's actually better for keeping the ROMs backed up in folders on my computer. That way when I have to wipe my XOOM for whatever reason, I can just push the ROMs folder with everything in it to my SD card.
Can someone upload their ROMs to Dropbox and share?

Huh? What the heck?
...roms arent apps. they're images ripped from game cartidges. Images ripped from game CD's would be called iso's. rom's have been around and people have been playing genesis games and all that on their pc's since the mid 90's.
What is the first thing/s you are doing when you get your Nexus 7.
Doesn't include taking it out of the box.
I will be probably rooting it as soon as I take it out of the box. Maybe install some custom roms.
So what are you going to do?
The first thing that i will do is test the web browser and see if it is any smooth, if the browser is not, than i will try dolphin or something like that, but if that browser still lags that i will consider returning because i want a good and handy browsing device.
Go Easter egg hunting in settings.

Yeah, but by the time we all get our devices, I'm sure they'll be a slew of roms, kernels, and other delicious Bacon. I think I'll run mine stock for a week or so, looking for bugs. Before I void any warranties, I wanna make sure I don't have a faulty device.
Test around for few minutes then start my setup!!
setup each of the 5 pages exactly the way I want, download widgets, apps, personalize the device
then i will start putting my own contents onto the device: movies, ebooks, comics
how is installing a new rom voiding your warranty?
