[WIDGET] Sense-Like People ?!?!?! - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just posted a reply in Andrewtst thread. I wanted to know am I missing somewhere this widget is on the forum? Is it in the launcher itselfs settings somewhere? i've looked everywhere if you could please help me out andrewtst or someone else with that people sense-looking widget I just switch to adw from launcher pro because it takes multiple swipes with lp now to get from homescreen to homescreen. with all my widgets adw still only takes one swipe.

And if you're not talking about that "sense-like people widget" then you are a very confused individual for posting irrelevant questions in the wrong thread.
And if you don't even have a paypal account to buy stuff, then that's too bad really.

OK, good news! First the bad news. The contact sidebar doesn't scroll at all, so forget that POS. Now, the good news is called Scrollable ContactWidget BETA and is on the market, it works with ADW and launcher pro, and scrolls! Yay, finally someone made one. Goes nice with Pure calendar and messenger scrolling. Now we need a scrollable bookmark widget.... There is one, but it sucks.
ps. no need to go ape**** y'all!!

You all pretty much covered the options; LauncherPro Plus, Contact Sidebar, and Scrollable Contact Widget Beta.
Before you go out and purchase one though, I know I only need 2 quick contacts, So another option is simply making a "Shortcut" to a "Contact". Works mostly the same, but i recommend if you only need a few.
I know it seems stupid, but I've bumped into 3 people that asked me what app that is, only to find its built in. Just trying to pass on to maybe a 4th person who hasn't played with their phone enough.

new launcher like sense ui 2.1

Launcherpro is in the market for free .it is a sense ui inspired launcher it does the whole pinch zoom home pages .also supports up to 7 home screens and even has a friend stream widget.I recently upgraded to a milestone and have missed my htc sense ui this will do for now until the port over the real sense ui...........spread the word
Friend Stream widget? Can't seem to find that option. Really good Launcher though.
¿?¿? I don't see any friend steam widget either
hm yeah, the launcher is nice. but not that nice as ADW launcher

is there any way to customize / theme / metamorph Launcher pro?? I really like the pinch zoom effect and the launcher transitions, but i don´t like those 5 icons in the bottom.
my mistake the friend widget came with my 2.1 milestone updat never used it b4 so thought it cam with the launcher.this is a beta so expect changes ppl have told the app inventor to change thos icons on the bottom...

Wow this is fast!
needs to be more customizable, but daaaaamn
Launcher pro is very fast. I would switch to it if you could customize the dock bar.
I searched the market and didnt find it. I searched LauncherPro, Launcher Pro, LauncherPro Beta, Launcher. And didnt get anything.

Its only for android 2.0 or above. Not 1.5 or 1.6
i have a themed version, im still trying to figure out how to customize what apps are on there though
How is it like sense ui? It's just Helix Launcher, without the customizable shortcut keys, and few options (at the moment). ADW has the sense previews and whatnot too. I like this launcher too, but ADW is far more customizable and has many more options than LauncherPro, but what do you expect. It's early beta.
LauncherPro is good but overrated
I used LauncherPro all day. It is fast and sexy at first, but laggs the system down over time. Some widgets and apps behave strangely (including phone.apk ) with a lot of use. It doesn't support auto-rotate. There are no settings to customize anything whatsoever. All-in-all it's smooth &pretty but buggy (kind of like a stripper). ADW wins.
hi! will any of u guys here kind enough to pull the .apk to share here.. i've a nexus one and i couldnt connect to internet because i couldnt find the apn setting for this phone. to make it worse my nexus one also couldnt detect wifi at my workplace due to different class (or sthing like that).. help me plz!

[APP][FAST][KANGED][YOURMOM] Launcher42 - For the haters

I made a version of the original Launcher2 app that doesn't use renderscript or come with any wallpapers. It's for anyone who dislikes ADW Launcher in CM6.
In the spirit of douchiness, it's available on the Market for $2.99.
In the spirit of non-douchiness, it's also attached to this message.
Copy/pirate/steal as you please, or buy it if you want to help keep me drunk.
Please don't start a launcher war in this thread because we all know ADW is better than everything else.
nice to see you trying to make everyone happy, but I cant understand why anyone wouldnt like ADW...each to their own i suppose
lol yea right, thanks alot.
its weird that the stock android launcher sucked on my motorola milestone, but adw was really fast, but in the nexus one the stock launcher was fast, and adw in CM6 feels slow
(i use launcher pro plus anyway xD)

so i downloaded the launcher and installed it, now every time I hit home it asks me which one i want to use, if i click adw my icons are there and stuff, if i hit the other launcher, all my icons are gone WTF CYAN! I can't believe you release this kind of crappy application that is so buggy!

ADW launcher is cheap and dirty. What's not to love about it?
Should we also make this the feature request thread for this launcher? Needs option for 7 home screens, four shortcuts in the dock, and maybe an option for some sort of swipe gestures.

I want UNREAD GMAIL/SMS/MISSED CALLS on my ADW DOCK!!
I tried this app, and I didn't like it, and then I checked, and there was like, 616kb LESS SPACE ON MY PHONE. Isn't it supposed to be lightweight? Also, I checked, and my phone also weighs a quarter ounce more.
</sarcasm>
Cool stuff, but ADW still trumps.
Can we get this without the 3d app drawer?
I personally love Launcher Pro Plus but I think it's just a matter of taste. Both are awesome 5-star launchers and both are highly customizable. LPP has awesome Sense widgets but ADW has themes (which I assume will eventually come to LPP). People who ***** about good apps need to stop using apps. I like ADW but like LPP more.
How can I add my LP pro widgets to this?
Also I want to change the number of columns and rows in the homescreens and drawer.
Can someone add the catalog feature from ADW to this?
As well as the edit homscreen thingie with the plus an minuses?
Any iphone themes for this yet?
edit:
where's my 3dz?

[ADW Mod] Sense-Like Launcher *UPDATED* ADW 1.2.0, Standalone

This is a little mod I did for @TeeJay3800 on Twitter (I believe it is the same for here on the forums), that tries to capture the look of the HTC Sense launcher.
Attached you will find a .zip. If you unzip you should be presented with:
Sources.zip
Launcher
-----SenseLauncherDonut.apk (Install if using Donut)
-----SenseLauncher.apk (Install if using 2.x)
Themes
-----SenseOld.apk (Screenshot below)
-----SenseHero.apk (Screenshot below)
-----Sense.apk (Pretty much a theme to add Sense Icons, screenshot below)
The only requirement for this is that you do NOT have the market version of ADW installed.
I think it goes without saying that regular ADW.Themes will NOT look correct with this modded launcher. However, included in the Sources.zip are the sources to my themes, I look forward to what you guys come up with.
Credits: Klinster, Anderwebs, HTC, TeeJay3800, Binary100100, Google, Cyanogen, Manup456, and I'm sure in some obscure way that I should thank Antoine Dodson.

Glad to see you're finally posting this on XDA!
For anyone who wants to complete the Sense look and doesn't already know how, you'll want:
- Community Hero Mix (system theme)
- Weather & Toggle Widget with Forecast Addon and H7C Clock skin/H7C Weather skin
When all is said and done, your home screen will be an exact clone of HTC Sense for MDPI devices. Nice job JAguirre!
I'll download and try it out tonight. Good job!
I like the taskbard/notification bar... where did you get it?
JAguirre1231 said:

As the title says, this is MDPI-only (as of right now, hope to get HDPI done when I have free time).
To use, download the .zip and extract. Inside you will find four items.
Install the Sense.apk (This is the theme that will give Sense icons, it is not required if you prefer whatever icons you are already using).
Install or push the ADWLauncher.apk. The way I've been doing it is by using
Code:
adb install -r /path/to/ADWLauncher.apk
or
adb push /path/to/ADWLauncher.apk /system/app/
However, a simple install from the phone /should/ just work.
With the adw_settings.xml and adb_backup.db, place them on the root of your sdcard and use ADW's Restore feature to import them (I'm sure there is an easier way, but I fail).
I think it goes without saying that regular ADW.Themes will NOT look correct with this modded launcher.

As close to Sense as possible. The far left button opens the app drawer, the middle button brings up phone and the far right button brings up ADWSettings (Because I lack the coding abilities to bring up the 'Add to Home Screen' dialog).
Other than the add button (now the settings button) and the scrolly bar on the dock bar, I haven't come across anything else that's not Sense-like.

And now, the paint-thingy button! Just a preview for those interested, that button will soon be updated to the style seen on the new Desire HD and Z.
what's the deal with sense look-a-likes anyway? i played it once. then i analyzed the interface mechanics, deduced that the rest of the interface would be pretending the music player and nice lockscreen were there wasn't worth it and sat my phone down.
i hear there is something to do with getting middle school girls to lose it to you when they see a cool looking phone in later years? sounds hilarious and repetitive.
i guess i just don't understand being addicted to a impressing lil' honies.
So the only possible reason someone could prefer the Sense look is to impress underage girls? With that reasoning, I can already tell you're not someone worth discussing anything with.

I came across these by accident and figured I would share...
About half of these look like they were ripped from iPhone themes, but a good pack nonetheless. Fair variety, and they are all good quality PNGs, which makes it easy. Thanks.

That works if you care about changing what you see in the App Drawer. If you only care about what you see on home screens, a much easier way for the average user is to just download Desktop Visualizer from the Market. Combined with Launcher Pro for your dock, you are limited only by the PNG images you can find or make.
It depends on how far you need to take it.

That's why we're here
Actually I am interested in changing the app drawer icons. And though much appreciated, the above post to the directions seems like a long way to go to achieve this.
Is there an easier way? I actually bought an icon theme for ADW.launcher and I love the home screen icons, but for some reason the developer made the drawer icons completely different and I hate them. I have found some icons that I like, that match the home screen icons.
Surely there must be a way to change all the icons at once instead of the above directions.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

I love that dude's set up.
Mine is minimal and simple using a black back screen with very clean and small things on the main page.
I'd like to mix it up and try something different.
For reference, here's mine:
That's Launcher Pro with Desktop Visualizer. DV just lets you make a widget that is an app button for any app with any PNG image you want for the icon. Head over to the Launcher Pro website here for a good thread of homescreens with lots of info: http://www.launcherpro.com/forum/vi...d=f659d9b40749e84b4ca91213bea40038&start=2490

I thanked you, because I appreciate the reply and posting up a link for me, but it's the images that I'm most interested in.
I'm going to search that thread to see where it takes me, but I wish there were just a theme I could bounce onto my phone with that type of layout pre-done.
I know that I'm going to get into it, not be able to make it as nice, not like the end result, and then not be able to get my current screen back to this way either.
Update: Found exactly what I was looking for and I know how to use it due to plenty of previous fooling around with Desktop Visualizer. Now I just need to find some time to go at it.

I find it really cool icons and I think they would go very well with the style CoreDroid. Just one thing I noticed by taking a quick look, I think we should use as little icons can be bases on the stock as for example the camera, but always in style as the example device photo is an image in "three D". I think that on this basis and with more icons in the style of the camera, you could do something even bigger.
This is only my humble opinion Android users since some time now, and I find it stand out even more icons icons Android IPhone to which everyone tends to return more or less.
Good luck to continue your work, I will follow you essayerde regularly to see the evolution.

Don't worry about it, I probably should have explained, these are just small 92x94 pixel images that can be set as the shortcut images for apps. You'll need to use a home launcher that allows you to customise shortcuts or an app which will do the same job if you're using the Rosie launcher, for example;
Folder Organizer
Desktop VisualizeR
Those two apps above are free by the way!

I'm not sure I entirely get what you mean but I know that Coredroid is heavily themed and I'm assuming they have their own Camera icons. Are you interested in Sense 3.0 styled icons to go with the Coredroid theme?
If so that can be arranged! Let me know though or else I won't bother doing them (laziness strikes).
The Template you've added, i wanted to create an icon with that, but do i need Photoshop installed to get the transparency ? I guess W7 Paint won't cut it? XD

I wasn't actually sure about this so I attempted it to be thorough and a warning popped up letting me know all transparency would be lost so... no dice!
You should be able to do it with gimp if I remember correctly which has the added bonus of being free!
Thanks for these, they look amazing!

Transparence Dock icons for go launcher
HELP!
trying to get the old Go Launcher 2.3 beta transparent icons for my new galaxy 3. They're available under the Transparence Dock app but are only for the dock. Does anyone have/know where I can find/ can create these for use as regular icons? I'm old school. I like the simplicity and the "barely there, but still identifiable" icons. I can't find ANYTHING I like as well...
Even if you could point me to the correct theme- much appreciated.
