Everything paid for will be available for re-download, but you will lose all your game progress.

Correct. I would use Titanium Backup or something of the like before-hand.

Hey guys!
I bought a new bigger SD card for my galaxy mini. Since I moved a lot of apps to my old SD card, I can't get the new SDcard to work without loosing all the data.
So basicly I'm asking, how to change SD cards without loosing anything and just getting the new sd-card to work.
I'm using chocobread latest release. Thank you for your responses!
With Titanium backup, backup all apps.
1. If not rooted, *root your phone
2. Install Titanium Backup
3. Batch Backup all user apps on SD
-------------------------------------------
Copy the 'Titanium backup' folder
4. Now copy & paste the 'Titanium backup' folder from OLD SD to PC.
5. Recopy & paste from PC to NEW SD.
-------------------------------------------
Restore all apps & data.
6. From Titanium backup, Batch Restore those apps with data.
7. Reboot the phone (not necessary, but to speed up the phone)
*Read up the reference sticky thread for how to root.
and dont forget to partition new one before restoring
Try just copying the old memory card content to the new one . Did the same a while back and i guess pretty much everything worked the way it should.

Yeah, already tried that one, didn't work though. Going to try again, maybe it's the hidden files issue.
Hey, wanna ask
I already partioned my sdcard but I forgot which one I use to partition, ext3 or ext4, anyone knows how to check it without using PC/Laptop?

I use FolderMount to move my apps and data to SDCard.
To do that, you have to root your phone. One of my main reason, why I rooted my ZR.
1 thing you should know about this app: you can only move 3 apps/data to SD. You have to buy the premium app to get more than 3, but it's worth it.
hey if you have not rooted yet check this out

I tested it before I rooted my phone. It does change the install location if you check it with:
Code:
adb shell pm get-install-location
But after that, I didn't manage to move the apps or installing the apps directly to SD.
I tested it with the android version 4.2.2, so I don't know if it works with 4.1.2.
Is it possible?
Really struggling with space on my Z1 right now.

No, this has been mentioned a few times. You need to have root to be able to install apps on SD. Once you root you can use Folder Mount or GL to SD

And even if sony would add the feature like samsung and some others did
For example on the sgs4 you can put apps on sd but it will only add the .apk to your sd (i gues you have some heavy games that use your space)
The .obb files still will be on internal sd
So i guess the only way is using foldermoun(or something like that) but that will need root
But keep in mind if you root your phone and don't unlock the bl and you have some problems with the phone and flash stock rom trough xperiatool you will have guarantee

I have never actually used the function myself, but there is a thread dedicated to the topic:

From what I found you might have to use this fix for it to work.
Alright. I have the new $50 tablet with (Sadly) 5.1.1 on it, meaning I can't root. I understand that is a separate issue. I wanted to ask you all about the SD Card, since my onboard storage is almost all gone. Is there a way to route all downloads to the SDcard? For instance, just set up the downloads folder to cut and paste automatically into the SD card? I understand I can't r/w without root access, but I need to know if there is any workaround. I use an app for downloading movies and T.V. shows but it downloads by default to the onboard storage, which doesn't have enough room for the files, so downloading them then cutting and pasting is not a solution.
Any help is appreciated!
I know for fact that all apps you install must first go to internal storage. Maybe try using some other app for shows and movies? There must be an option to change download location.

Download ES file explorer, and when you initiate a download, select to open it with es file explorer. there is no way to set chrome to download to your SD card.
Wait what, if we let our device update to 5.1 we cannot root? Can anyone confirm?

If you install the 5.1.1 FireOS OTA fastboot commands will be blocked. Since we don't have an unlocked bootloader we have to boot twrp from fastboot every time we need recovery for anything. Without fastboot, the device is completely crippled and stuck on FireOS with no way to get any other roms installed.
My problem is big game obb files. GTA San Andreas is close to 2.5 GB and if you manually push the files to external the game wont run.

I assume no. The files are downloaded to the internal by default and you can move it from sdcard0/Android/obb to sdcard1/Android/obb but then the game will not run. It also happens with AVP Evolution.

Usually you can move the .apk to sd card but not the obb file.
If you are rooted and use xposed there is a module called 'Obb2sd' which allows you to move the obb files over to external sd and the game/app will still run.

Awesome, yes I'm currently rooted running CM12.1. I will try out xposed and this module. Thanks for the info!
Yeah, it worked for me with dead trigger and a couple other games. Good luck!

Dang it... It infuriates me what they did with the 5.1.1 update. I waited MONTHS to get root on fire phone, now I have to do it AGAIN?
Sorry for the rant... I must get pissed she ever I think about it. Rooting is the ONLY reason I bought this thing...
Any tests or help I can provide?
If you are rooted you can use Foldermount to create symlinks to redirect internal storage to the microSD. I use it to redirect the internal Download folder to the microSD card. You could use it to redirect cache folders etc too.
Hi All ,
One of my friends has a note 5 and he deleted some photos by mistake so He asked me to restore the photos for him but here is the problem :
All data recovery programmes require root but If I rooted his phone, his warranty would be void and can't receive samsung's updates anymore so I just want a way to root and unroot without losing his warranty and still able to receive samung's updates and not format his phone his root to restore files and then unroot and back to normal life again ! Also If there is an alternative way to restore the files without root , please , tell me !
There are apps in the Playstore to restore deleted pics. No root necessary.

Disk Digger is one I have used in the past, and has been reliable. But if you go to the Playstore and search "restore deleted photos", you'll find many more.

Don't know what to say then. I'm not rooted, and Disk Digger has always performed it's job for me, though they pics I wanted was recently deleted.
Maybe someone else has a better idea. I can only give you my experience.
Late reply
Recuva(win/mac) can do that.
your memory must be formatted as FAT32, NTFS or similar. If your memory card format is not recognized, you can just copy of its contents to your computer, reformat the memory card as FAT32 and then dump thecopied files back on it and continue the process.
Open recuva
choose the file type u deleted
copy it on another sd card(never copy deleted items on the same card).
Sorry,its too late i guess.
