Increase sound volume - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi All
I would like to increase my sound on my MDA compact 4.
I've allready tried the following things to accomplish, but it did not work...
I installed "Diamond tweak" and did the following tweaks:
* Audiobooster --> Enabled
* 100dB limitation --> Disabled
* Increase sound --> High
After this didnt work I tried to install the "Advanced Config Tool" and did the following tweaks:
* HTC audio manager volume to 130 dB
* De bass, treble en 3d sound levels all disabled
The strange thing is after all this adjusments the sound level isnt increased jet?! And I need it for my motorcycle helmet, for my tomtom navigation with bluetooth earplugs, the sound must be very loud because of the wind noise.
Does anyone know a properly solution for my problem? Please help me!
Greetings,
Gerben.

search the forum for a file "audiopara.csv" this will change the levels from within windows mobile, it makes a huge difference but it loses sound quality & may damage your speker after a long time... then again I have used it for nearly two years with the "lighter boost" & no complaints!

MS Voice Command Volume

I have just started using ms voice comand, but the volume is very low
I have looked about and done a reg hack to change
HKEY Current User - Control panel - Sound Catagories - Voice Command -
Change:
Attenuation Catagory - Value 1
InitVol - Value 3
and also tried
HKEY Current User - Control panel - Sound Catagories - Voice Command -
Change:
Attenuation Catagory - Value 2
InitVol - Value 8
but neither of these make it any louder
anyone using voice command, that has been able to fix this on a diamond?
I am only using it on the speaker and not a bt headset
Also i noticed that the speach is not as clear as cyberon VC, as it is alot faster. But i prefer the features of MSVC with regards reading the email subjects and caller id
7. *Adjusting Volume of Announcements -* There are two values that seem to influence the volume of announcements. They are stored within the following key:
*HKCU\Control Panel\Sound Categories\Voice Command1*
The values are:
*AttenutationCategory*
*InitVol*
There are apparently different default setting based on your device. In general the values are generally around 1-4 for *AttenuationCategory* and 1-5 for *InitVol*. Some research shows that setting *InitVol* to 40 and *AttenuationCategory* to 1 provide the best results. In my testing I have found the *InitVol* to do nothing. The *AttenuationCategory* definitely does something, it seems the lower the number the lower the voice. When set it to 0 the announcements were very faint. Setting it higher made them higher, although I can't say that anything over 4 or 5 got any louder.
In my findings I would say set both of these to 5 (I have read some other posts that lead me to believe setting InitVol over 5 is pointless, in addition, the posts that recommend setting it to 40 don't specify if that is decimal or hex).
Got this out of the Kaiser Forum.
do i need to restart the device for these settings to become active?
What I do is shut the phone down...Power Button, and then take out the battery for a second or two, then I put the Battery back in and start it back up. Some reg settings you change revert back when you just soft reset.
I would love to make voicecommand louder BUT i can't. I changed the values but the volume is still down....
How do i do???
Someone???
I read in one post that if I remove S2A, the voicecommand will be louder...but i still don't know how to remove S2A....
HEEEEEELLLLP!!!
The loudest volume level on HTS HD2 i got with:
indows Registry Editor Version 5.00

What ROM you are running?
Many JB kernels have In-Call Volume options in Advanced settings.
You can't increase the volume above build-in amplifier/speaker limits.

If music plays fine, then your speaker is good. You have 3 more things to check:
- What is notification and ringtones volume settings level? Set all sliders to max.
(you probably did)
- Is Ascending Ringtone (in Interface > Sound) enabled? Check Ringing Start Volume and Increase Interval settings.
(set about 40-50% volume for Ringing Start and 2sec for Increase Interval)
- What files you use for notification and ringtone? Some mp3 files are just recorded with low volume level.
(your problem most likely, try with default sounds and find something louder and high pitched)

• Support is limited. I do this as a hobby in my free time. All team member have family and childs but we'll do our best to help you if you state your problem in clear English, with as much information as you can (what mods you selected, have you wiped, when exactly does the error occur, what type of phone you have (ul, l , ws etc.), what carrier, logcat and so on. The more information you offer, easier for me to help you. If you do not ask for support in clear English and with no information or with a easy “don’t work” I will ignore your issue!
• NO Requests! When I work on Rayglobe rom I have in mind that I have to satisfy before my eeys and ears and all users to a decent level. What works for me might not work for you and vice versa . I'm not your personal ROM developer and it is not my job nor my intention to make everybody happy.
• Do not come here asking "Hey mate, X rom has that awesome feature and if you don't implement it in your rom, I'll <insert whatever here>!" You flashed this ROM because you liked it at some point. On this section of Xda there are best developers so his common thing find rom with good or incredible stuff. I respect other dev work so if our team can make this mode will be done otherwise no expect kang from us.
• Suggestions for improvements are always welcomed. As long as they are well documented and as long as you understand that NOT everything is possible.
• NO ETAs! While I do my best to constantly work on the ROM to improve, *fix and add new features, again this is a hobby! Our team will work on private beta and usually will publish rom on weekend! If this becomes an obligation passion fades and I might stop cooking the ROM

Rayglobe Rom have always 3 possibilities of installation. We'll explain here every possibility
1. Install all rom
If you select this checkbox you want install all rom and format all system partition. Rayglobe rom never format data partition. So:
a) if you have on your device any version of Rayglobe rom not need other wipe
b) if you have other dev Rom please make on your recovery wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
In this state all installation procedure can be estimated in 5 minutes
2. Update theme & Addon
You must use this option if:
- you want only update your previous themes option or stuff installed. System partition will not be touched so in this way you can have fast flash. With this option kernel will not changed!
With this option all installation procedure can be estimated in 1 minutes
3. Update only
You must use this option if:
- you you have rayglobe inside and want reinstall without reselect all aroma choose!. Aroma remember for you your previous choose;
- you have a new ver. of rayglobe and you want install reinstall without reselect all aroma choose. I don't suggest this case just because every ver. of rom can have new aroma option and in this case you don't benefit of this
With this option all installation procedure can be estimated in 4 minutes
Aroma is a great tools, but when you use a lot of configurable options how you find in Rayglobe rom, is normal have errors in installation procedure or stuff not right installed.
For help us to solve you must click 2 times on this button and send us file that you find in directory on sdcard on you put rom zip file
1. HTC installation
One of Rom plus is LEGO installation. You can build (like lego) your phone system choose HTC applications that you want install.
For default we have selected all HTC option to give you except dot cover application. You can add/deselect other if you want
2. ROM MOD
Other PLUS of Rom is Rayglobe mod. If you want real Rayglobe experience don't deselect Rayglobe engine
3. THEMES OR NOT? YOU CAN CHOOSE!
I think that Rayglobe roms have always particular themes so you have 2 options:
1) With first option you choose of leave icons and colors like original HTC M8. In this way your rom will not be compatible with our themes but you can use Rayglobe engine, our mods and stuff
2) Selecting this option you can enter really in Rayglobe world. You can benefit of all team themes
4. Other Aroma stuff that you can selected
We have added a lot of aroma stuff here images of more important choose. Please if you want full root access select supersu option in aroma menu

Rom have an aroma zip file that permit you changing recovery beetween
- Twrp custom from rayglobeteam
. Twrp stock
- Philz stock
You can change between this recovery with our zip downlodable for rayglobe kitchen or from here:
https://content.wuala.com/contents/raimondomartire/m8OTA/Recovery/Recovery_Rayglobe.zip/?dl=1
This rom don't have huge Pico TTS but we have Samsung Text to speech (TTS) HD voices.
For download right TTS file for your language click on flag (some file are in rayglobe kitchen)
From there head on over to the controls tab and click on Language and Input. Follow that up by going to Text-to-speech options at the bottom of the new window, and then clicking the gear icon next to “Samsung text-to-speech engine.” From here you’ll find a number of settings related to the Samsung TTS engine
Viper4Android is like the “advanced” version of DSP Manager/Beats Audio by providing you with more advanced Surround/Bass/Clarity/Gain boost controls in addition to an equalizer that you can use for your headphones, speakers, bluetooth devices, and more.
We have heavly configured this equalizer with this mod:
1) impulse;
2) profile
For activate this mod you must go in setting and flag this
1. Impulse - Preoladed
In Rayglobe Rom there is preloaded a lot of profiles. We suggest you our Rayglobe impulse
2. Profiles - Preloaded
In Rayglobe Rom there is preloaded 3 profiles
3. Settings Explained
FX Settings Explained
< Headset >
1. Master Power. This option defines whether to enable V4A headset sound effects, also known as main switch.
2. Playback Gain Control. It is mainly used to dynamically control the audio volume, to amplify or to attenuate.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Select Effect Strength. Effect Strength is the speed of amplification or attenuation, the stronger the faster the speed and the higher the final volume, the weaker the slower the speed, the closer to the original volume. Recommended medium.
(3) Max Gain. When the volume of the note is too small, in order to uplevel the sound, there may be very large magnification. The higher the value, the louder the volume. But too large will also amplify the noise within the song. Recommended 4 times.
(4) Max Output. This value defines the maximum volume of the PlaybackAGC sound in decibel value, the greater the value the greater the volume, 0 db is the maximum. In order to make the sound softer recommended -1.9 dB.
3. FIR Equalizer. 511-order 10 bands FIR linear equalizer.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Select Preset. Here you can select default equalizer presets. When choosing custom, it will follow the user-defined lines drawn.
(3) Linear Equalizer graphic. Will pop up when you touch the graphic equalizer, you can manually adjust the levels of amplification and attenuation of the 10 bands.
4. Convolver
When an impulse response(IR) sample is loaded, music will show the same characteristics of the loaded sample, for example equalizer, surround, reverberation, tube etc.
Make sure SD Card has /ViPER4Android/Kernel/ folder, IR samples will be located there. If folder not exists, you can download latest V4A FX and extract SDCard_V4A.zip.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Select Impulse Response. Here you can select and load IR Samples inside /ViPER4Android/Kernel/ folder.
(3) Cross Channel. Brings audio in front of you.
5. Field Surround. It is mainly used to create sound field surround effects. The sound field can be understood as mono field or stereo field.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Select Field Surround Strength. This value defines the strength of the field surround effects. The stronger, the stereo effect will be more obvious, the sound will come from left and right sides.
(3) Select Mid Image Strength. This value defines the central vocal intensity. More strongman sound more clear, the weaker the more ethereal sound.
6. Differential Surround also known as Haas effect.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Select Delay Time. This value defines the delay(gap) between left and right. The greater the wider the sound.
7. Headphone Surround +. Virtual Headphone Surround effect.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Select Effect Level. Strength of VHS+.
7. Reverberation. It uses mathematical methods to simulate the environmental feeling sensation. Example a song can be felt playing inside the auditorium, living room, bathroom, and so on.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Room Size. This value defines the virtual environment area size. The larger the value, the sound is wider and more echoes.
(3) Sound Field. This value defines the width of the room above, in meters. Assumed that the above room size is 100 square meters, here to set a width of 14 meters, then the length of the room will be 7.14 m.
Therefore, the room size and width defines the aspect ratio of the virtual environment.
The larger the value, the sound coming from both sides will felt more obvious.
(4) Damping Factor. This value defines the humidity of air in the above virtual environment, the moisture vapor in the air will easily absorb the echoes.
So the bigger this value, the less echoes heard.
(5) Wet Signal. This value defines the volume of the simulated environment effect.
(6) Dry Signal. This value defines the volume of the original sound.
For environments with low air humidity such as living room, auditorium and other indoor environment, you can use room size and sound field to define the area of the virtual environment, water vapor content values from 0 to 20, the reverb signal values 20 to 50, the proportion of the original signal to take value of about 50.
For environments with high air humidity such as bathroom and other indoor environment that contains a lot of moisture, you can use room size and sound field to define the area of the virtual environment, water vapor content values of 50 to 100, the reverb signal values 40 to 80, the proportion of the original signal value of about 50.
8. Dynamic System. It handles the dynamic range of the sound. In other words the bass, treble, and limiting.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Select Listening Device. This value defines the headset type connected to the audio jack. If you cannot get the right device for good bass tone, then select Common earphone. Common earphone is a common choice. Recommend Common earphone.
(3) Select Dynamic Bass. This value defines the average dynamic bass, the greater the stronger bass. Recommend 33%.
(4) Tube Simulator(6N1J). This option defines whether to enable tube simulator effect. V4A tube simulator uses a simplified mathematical simulation of tube effect.
If turned on, will greatly reduce high-frequency odd harmonic distortions, while increases even-order harmonic distortions of tube simulator.
9. Fidelity Control. It’s a substitution for XHiFi’s Audio Reconstruction. It handles bass and clarity of the sound.
(1) Enable ViPER Bass checkbox. Whether ViPER Bass is enabled.
(2) Select Bass Mode. Natural, Pure bass+ and Sub-woofer. Natural bass is alike V4A XHiFi’s Lo Contour. Purebass+ gives clean bass. Sub-woofer gives huge bass.
(3) Select Bass Frequency. Adjust bass frequency. Recommended at least 60Hz for both modes.
(4) Select Bass Boost. Volume of ViPER Bass. Recommended at least 6dB for Natural, at least 8dB for Pure bass+
(5) Enable ViPER Clarity checkbox. Whether ViPER Clarity is enabled.
(6) Select Clarity Mode. Natural, Ozone+ and XHiFi offers 3 different types of clarity. Natural has high vocal&treble. Ozone+ offers clean clarity. XHiFi is alike V4A XHiFi’s Hi Clarity.
(7) Select Clarity. Volume of ViPER Clarity. Recommended at least 3.5dB for Natural, at least 8dB for Ozone+, at least Default for XHiFi.
10. Auditory System Protection. Protects auditory system.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether CureTech+ is enabled.
(2) Select Binaural Level. Strength of Binaural protection. Recommended Moderate.
11. Master Gate(Limiter). This option is V4A output limiter, its used to prevent overloud clipping distortion.
(1) Ouput Gain. This value defines the main output volume. Its something like a volume control.
(2) Channel Pan: This is output gain ratio for left and right channel.
(3) Limit Threshold. This value defines the limits of waveform amplitude by the limiter, 0 dB is the maximum value.
The smaller the value, the easier to experience audio frequency compression(the smaller the volume), will lose sound details, but can effectively control the final output volume. Recommend 0 db.
< Phone Speaker >
1. Master Power. This option defines whether to enable V4A speaker sound effects, also known as main switch
2. FIR Equalizer. Same as headset equalizer.
3. Convolver. Same as headset convolver.
4. Reverberation. Same as headset reverberation
5. Speaker Optimization. Optimise internal speaker audio quality.
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
6. Extra Loud. eXtra-Loud further amplifies the sound, but is controlled to protect the speaker, will not overload.
Recommend infinity.
(4) Max Output. This value defines the maximum volume of the EL sound in decibel value, the greater the value the greater the volume, 0 db is the maximum. Recommend 0db.
7. Master Gate(Limiter). Same as headset limiter.
XHiFi Settings Explained
1. Master Power. This option defines whether to enable V4A headset/bluetooth sound effects, also known as main switch.
2. Playback Gain Control. Same as FX version’s PlaybackAGC.
3. FIR Equalizer. 2047-order 10 bands, quality much better than FX version. Method of adjusting same as FX version.
4. Audio Reconstruction. It is XHiFi’s core feature, it does the detailing and treble restoring for lossy mp3 audio files. (Currently in adjustment phase, different device may have different experience.)
(1) Enable checkbox. Whether the effect is enabled.
(2) Hi Clarity. This value defines the detailing and treble restoration percentage, the larger the value, the more details of the sound and stronger treble.
For low-end/common earphones, this is not recommended as you may experience high frequency shrills.
For better earphones such as Monster,Philips,Zombie,Sennheiser, recommended value = 30 ~ 50.
For high-end headphones, value depands on headphone cable length. Start with value = 40, value +10 for every 80cm cable length.
For preamp/amp connect to phone. Start with value = 60, value +10 for every 80cm cable length.
For tube amplifier, directly use value = 100.
(3) Lo Contour. The value defines the percentage of bass contour reconstruction over total band. The larger the value, the stronger the bass, but midrange and details will slightly lost.
For earphones recommend value = 50 ~ 70.
For headphones recommend value = 20 ~ 30.
5. Master Gate(Limiter). This option is V4A output limiter, its used to prevent overloud clipping distortion.
(1) Ouput Gain. This value defines the main output volume. Its something like a volume control.

L90 Volume Boost - Solution, and a Question!

Hey mates .
Here's the thing, i want to remove that Loud Volume Headset Warning that makes volume pretty Low.
For now all i found to really increase volume is this:
Sound Boost.apk Freeware : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.cacheux.soundboost "Just activate the apk before you plug-in your earphone/headphone".
This for sure will increase volume, but i wanted to know if the 'quality' of this increased sound is the same quality as if the volume limiter was really removed, because i think this app switches the Music channel to Voice Channel in order to gain volume.
So i wanted to ask someone to do something like this: whoever of you that already did somehow removed the limit volume warning by Xposed Framework or tools like that one, to try installing this SoundBoost apk and tell me if the quality and volume is the same as if we had removed the warning by Xposed or other tools.
Thanks for your attention mates, have a good day :good:

**HINTS**
Safe Usage
Lower all android volumes to below 50% (system, in-call & media volume, etc) BEFORE installing for the first time (to ensure vol is not set to high upon initial activation).
Do not use high volume for long periods of time.
Your general listening volume levels should be set between 25%-75%
Only use max volume (75%-100%) for quiet sources as even the main speaker can distort at high volume.
When using your device in landscape: ensure buttons face up so the handset speaker is on your left and the main speaker is on your right (rotating your device will not change left/right output).
To equalise speakers; adjust the L:R balance/pan in your default AudioFX App or favourite media player, if the setting is available make L>R.
If you also have 3rd party sound enhancement/processing mods or libraries installed (EG Viper4android, Dolby, Sony, Beats, etc) then; It is recommended to use a balanced-soft-medium release as the volume increase in the louder releases may be too much and cause distortion &/or impact sound quality.

**WARNING**
The handset speaker on this device is not designed for media-audio playback and is not capable of matching the max volume or quality of the main speaker.
After installing this mod you should not play audio at high volume for long periods of time if you are concerned about damaging your speakers.

*MixerMod Editions*Overview
From balanced -> loud
The main/right speaker volume increases and the handset/left is constant.
The handset speaker (left) has now been activated at max volume but it is still significantly softer than the main speaker (right) by upto 30dB at default ±0dB
Due to this limitation the only way to achieve L:R balance is to reduce the main speaker volume proportionately.
The balanced edition addresses this issue with ±2dB variance but the softest main spkr (right) & overall volume.
Considering the overall volume reduction of the balanced edition may not be practical or necessary for everyday use;
I have created separate editions with different volume levels within safe min/max range to hopefully suit most use cases and device setups.
The different editions can now be used to achieve the best available L:R balance for your desired overall volume;
If one edition is to loud/unbalanced then try the next edition down in volume
If one edition is to soft then try the next one up in volume
If you want a custom package just ask
Tech Spec

*FAQ*
Q: What does this mod do ?
A: Improves output audio quality by modifying system file/s for the hardware controlled audio configuration.
Checks device compatibility
Installs a modified /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml file for audio routing, output, volume/gain, etc
Preserves existing/stock system file/s as .bak until restored
Installs /system/addon.d survival script to preserve mod files across ROM flash/wipe
Includes the latest updates, fixes & cherrypicks from multiple sources (Vendor/AOSP/CM)
Q: Do Left and Right speakers output stereo or mono sound ?
A: Stereo.
This mod routes the Left audio channel to (only) the upper Handset speaker and the Right audio channel to (only) the Lower Main speaker.
Factory default routes both channels to only the lower main speaker for mono output.
Q: Are you sure the handset speaker is working ?
A: Yes, output is a lot lower than the main speaker due to device limitations.
To test put your finger over the main speaker or adjust L:R balance/pan so R=0 or L>R
Q: Is this mod safe to use ?
A: Yes; provided you do not manually modify the system files yourself (ie to increase the volume further or make other changes).
Q: Will this damage my speakers or ears ?
A: No, Provided you adhere to all warnings/instructions and do NOT modify any relevant system files manually.
Volume/Gain for all outputs are set to a safe level.
Q: Has anyone bricked or broken their device using this mod ?
A: No damage to any device has been reported due to using this mod, nor similar mods for other devices.
HOWEVER it is still recommended to make a Nandroid backup of /system before installing, not to playback audio at high volume for lengthy periods and do not make manual modifications to system files.
Q: I have a compatible device but the mod will not install or flash !
A: Please report details here and provide from build.prop your ro.product.device value and if possible any relevant log files such as /cache/recovery/last_log, logcat, etc,
Q: Is this mod compatible with xyz device ?
A: This mod is currently only compatible with recent Qualcomm Snapdragon based devices that use the onboard soundcard only.
Q: Can I try this mod with a device not listed as compatible?
A: Not recommended unless confident of h/w similarities to confirmed devices. Advise posting a request here with your mixer_paths.xml & device details so I can provide a test package.
Q: I still want to try this on an un-approved device on my own !
A: Test at your own risk but do not be surprised if you can no longer boot or experience audio issues/failure;
Flash a Test Release, as Stable Releases are restricted to approved devices only (see OP) or manually extract & install mixer_paths.xml as per OP.
Q: Should I expect any issues after installing ?
A: No
MixerMod has been confirmed to be error free & stable for all compatible devices listed in OP.
(may work on devices with similar h/w; post your mixer_paths.xml if you wish to test on a new device)
Q: After installing this MixerMod I have errors, problems, questions or requests to report !
A: Post in this thread with your original mixer_paths.xml(.bak)
Include as much relevant detail as practical: Device, ROM, kernel, any & all active sound mods or libraries, + non-stock audio settings/FX, etc
Q: What are your testing variables ?
A: Before any release I first test the new audio settings for a lengthy period of time on a Moto-G3 XT1550 osprey with different settings & variables to ensure no adverse effects:
MM 6.0.x ROMs
Custom kernels
Stock/built-in AudioFX, on vs off
3rf Party AudioFX apps/libraries
eg ViPER4Android, Dolby, Sony, Beats, etc
Multiple MultiMedia apps/players
eg Spotify, Poweramp, SonyMusic, GoogleMusic, Soundcloud, etc
Other sound/audio mods
eg eXtremeMusic, ExtremeBeats, Project Desire, etc
Various Headphones, IEM and external speakers
Built-in speakers with music, video, podcast & audio-test signals
Different environments & ambient noise levels
Volume/Balance measurements tested/recorded with a basic dB soundmeter.
Final field test and selection of each release/edition based on realworld results, compatibility and my personal experience.
Q: What are the Limitations of this mod ?
A: It will not walk your dog, laugh at your jokes or save you from an alien invasion.
I do not currently have access to suitable pro sound equipment so dB measurements for volume & balance are obtained via a basic soundmeter from another handset.
L:R Speaker orientation is locked ie Rotating your device will NOT swap Left/Right channels
Different sized h/w speaker drivers (handset vs main); to compensate for the smaller handset speaker this mod reduces the main speaker volume to achieve better L:R balance.
NB Without reducing the main speaker stereo sound would not be practical as the main speaker is too loud.
No 3rd party soundcard/DAC/DSP to utilise (ie only onboard Qualcom Snapdragon Hexagon processing is available for this device)

General Inquiries
If you want me to make a custom file/mod for your specific setup (I'm happy to), are requesting a change to this mod, testing your own mod, reporting an error, tweaking your setup or just sharing your settings for others, then;
Post here or PM me, and include
Your desired changes
Original un-modified /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml(.bak) file
Details of your sound & device setup IE model, ROM, kernel, mods, etc
Specify any & all active sound mods/libraries + non-stock audio settings
To manually adjust your L:R speaker volume and achieve equal balance; Try A, B or C as follows.
A) via ROM audioFX app, your preferred media player w/pan, or a custom soundFX mod:
Adjust Left:Right output settings so L>R under Balance/Pan according to your preference.
**WARNING**
The following manual steps can be dangerous if a mistake is made and/or volume/gain is set to high/low so only do this if you are confident, have read all the provided info, follow the instructions implicitly and of course;
do so at your own risk, accepting all responsibility if any damage occurs.
B) via a file manager (root + RW /system)
edit/open file /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml in a text editor
Search or scroll for MixerMod under <path name=speaker />
Make your changes to XX for;
<ctl name='RX1 Digital Volume' value=XX />
<ctl name='RX3 Digital Volume' value=XX />
Where;
RX1=Left handset speaker
RX3=Right main speaker
XX sets the volume as a number between 74 and 94 in 1dB increments (stock=0:84 ±0dB)
Play some media and set Android volume <50%
Reboot to apply your changes
Test your changes & repeat the above until you are happy with the volume and balance
If you want to post your new settings please make sure to include any & all sound mods/libraries + non-stock audio settings.
C) Test temporary volume/gain levels live:
Start playing some media
NB I recommend a long playlist with varied but short music/video selections as when media focus shifts your changes will revert.
Run the following code from a terminal
Code:
su
tinymix 'RX1 Digital Volume' XX
tinymix 'RX3 Digital Volume' XX
Speaker: RX1=Left and RX3=Right
Headphones: RX1=Left and RX2=Right
Adjust XX and re-do the above until you are happy with the volume & balance
To save your desired settings edit /system/mixer_paths.xml accordingly (see above) then reboot.

Which edition/s have you tried?
Do you have any other sound mods or libraries installed?
FYI
*Only the balanced release aims for equal L:R speaker volume as achieving this greatly reduces the main speaker volume.
*The L:R difference on my test device (osprey, stock, no other sound mods) with balanced edition ends up 0-3dB, varying slightly per frequency.
I am hesitant to lower the main speaker much more than it is already for this one but can do if requested.
*Stock/default/flat there is generally approx 30dB difference between the two speakers on this device, which is a lot for this scenario.
So perfect balance may not be practical for many situations.
*Currently L:R balance will even out as you choose a quieter edition of MixerMod (see the OP for more details).
*Volume levels for most releases can be tweaked so feedback is welcome but please provide device/setup info!
edit: Added this info to OP
i had balanced but noticed that the loudspeaker(the earpiece speaker) was a bit louder than the real speaker

The soft edition from OP will increase the main spkr a few knotches (10dB)
I've attached some alternate editions for you in case you only need a small change;
balanced2 will only reduce the handset spkr by 2dB
balanced3 will only increase the main spkr by 4dB
Alternatively
Run the below command/s in a terminal while audio is playing then let me know your results and I'll post a new edition for you.
(tinymix changes only last for that audio session)
Adjust main/right spkr
Code:
su
tinymix 'RX3 Digital Volume' 68
raise/lower the number until you are happy (OP balanced = 64 and stock = 84)
Adjust the handset/left spkr
Code:
su
tinymix 'RX1 Digital Volume' 92
raise/lower the number until you are happy (most OP editions = 94 which is generally the max without distortion)
Would this be safe to use alongside the xtrememusic mod?

I'm wondering how this works with ViPER4android. Would like to try it but not if V4a interferes as I really like it.

Will this need re-flashed everytime the official 13.1 Cyanogen nightly gets updated?

Sure is !
Currently MixerMod will not conflict with any other sound mods, though you may need to try different MixerMod Editions to get your desired sound/volume/balance.
Pls report results here for others with same setup.

There is a native headphone boost etc included in MixerMod and I can confirm it works very well in combo with V4A !
RE speakers; I would recommend to start with a balanced/soft/medium edition of MixerMod if you also use 3rd party sound libraries eg @guitardedhero 's Viper|Atmos packages, Sony, Beats, etc

Go for it, just set n forget !
no need to reflash MixerMod after a ROM upgrade addon.d survival script is included.
You should see a few messages from MixerMod in recovery during the process to let you know it's doing its thing...it will even backup the unmodified files from the new ROM before patching so you're never in danger.
Installed the boosted variant along side the xtrememusic mod and gotta say..
Bravo man, bravo ??
And actually I kinda like how the earpiece is a tad lower than the main speaker, kinda how I imagine the HTC 10 would sound (since the top speaker is for treble and bottom is for bass)
And yes I installed it on my moto g3 (osprey)
Disregard my signature ?
