wow this looks awesome
is the battery icon included?
is this CM6 able? (froyo)
is this a flashable theme, via recovery or metamorph?

This looks a lot like energy's taskbar from his Windows mobile Roms.

yes it's him...i fix it for android.
this is a flashable theme, via recovery but the battery icon isn't included

but this is just a rar file and not flashable

Yeah the rar file is not in a flashable format. It is not a zip and does not contain the proper file system structure.

tes, my friend that had tested the taskbar for me have put the files in his COOKED ROM....Someone know how to make a flashable zip?

Round Battery Meter from BakedSnack in Other ROMs?

So I'm finally settling down on a ROM configuration I like. I'm currently using the following:
DamageControl 3.2.3
DroidX Boot Screen
Rotary Lockscreen
ADW Launcher
It's a great combination, but the one thing I miss right now came from the BakedSnack 9.6 ROM and that's the 6 segmented round battery meter in the status bar. Anyone know how to get that or at least something better than the default battery icon?
Thanks!

P.S. This is a duplicate thread from androidforums.com, just figured it might help to ask here as well...
Theme the battery yourself, the icons you need to change are located in the framework-res.apk file, or wait a day or two whilst im making a video tutorial on how to change the battery
Here's a morph of it
download metamorph from market(free)
drop zip in AndroidThemes folder on sdcard
i take no credit for this i only created the morph the actual icons were created by brandenk

Thanks! Works Beautifully! This makes my dream theme almost complete! Next step, is there a way to bundle a set of updates (I have the zip files) into one zip I can flash over any ROM? Anyone point me to a link about building flashable zips? Time to learn to do these on my own...
So Bump... This isn't working as well as I thought... I ran it all day and it worked fine for the first half of the battery life, but it then went all the way down to 22% while still showing half battery (3 of 6 bars)... Sigh... Anyone else?

yes you can its really simple!!
if you have more than one zip to flash, you have to extract all the apks keeping the exact position of them
(if app apk -> system/app or framework apk -> system/framework)
try to download any rom or theme, open the zip and you will see how it works!!
keep in mind that you need the updater-script --> (download any theme and copy the whole directory "meta inf" in your new flashable zip.
once you have meta inf and system/app system/framework (or anything else) into your zip, Sign it!!!
signing is really simple too!

read all!!!!!!!
then..
i've downloaded this battery stats themed (thank to icegad who made the metamorph) but, android 2.1 has the icons located in a new directory, not drawable-hdpi but drawable-mdpi. so, that archive posted by him doesnt work!
you have need to change that letter if you are using 2.1.
right now im on 75% so i dont know if i've got your problem too.. hope no
I dont speak english very well, but I hope you understand anyway ^^

also some screenshots?
Sorry do not have time today just download the second file and look at all of the icons it will only take a second
Looking good!
Any chance of an update.zip version (same for the blue - save me replying twice)?
Thanks.
aha okay i'll look into making flashable .zip's

Is it really that hard to extract a theme from a Rom?

Hi!
I have been trying to extract the theme from this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869408
It looks awesome and I want to add some animations from a different ROM and use it with Darkys or Assonance for example but this seems to be much harder than I though unless someone has a quick and easy for dummies procedure for poor me that is.
It should be as easy as extracting the framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, mms.apk, bootanimation.zip and fonts as that is what is listed as being themed in the ROM thread. Then use the theme porter posted in the Android Themes section of XDA to inject them in your apk's, then manually change whatever didn't copy over.

mmm sounds simple when you say it lol I will need to dig deep here it seems but that is a good post to point me towards the right path
I usually just extract the framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk from the ROM I am taking the theme from and the ROM I want to put it in, then I copy the res/drawable-hdpi folder from the old apk into the new one. It is a quick/dirty method, and wont let you change font colors or add a circle battery mod to one without it, but I have never had problems with it before.
You also have to be sure it is compatible with the rom you are using. Some roms have different xml code behind and if you simply put the framework and tw framework in your rom you risk getting fc at boot and not getting past them.

Both are JPY Roms so I hope that is enough. I guess worst thing that could happen is having to flash again

Try first with /system/framework/framework-res.apk and /system/framework/twframework-res.apk
I'm attaching a cwm zip file that has those files as found in Doc's 6.1 rom.
Just replace them with the files from whatever rom you want and keep that as a backup in case something goes wrong. It will save you from reflashing
If both are JPY roms then it shouldn't be an issue.
I tried doing what Ryukeima mentioned but I ended up with a Frankenstein of a theme as not all things from the them I wanted came over to the new one!
This is going to require some practice. That ROM has also some very nice Icons for Launcher Pro so is going to be another thing to look for..in fact I think I could be happy just getting those Icons.

Rip all the framework folder. Make a CWM zip and flash it over your ROM. It should work without problems. Then try to either apply animations on UOT kitchen or inject them with metamorph.

Sorry for my noobness...Just trying to learn this stuff
So if i rip out all framework folders from one rom and manually replace them in another rom (like i did for kernel..replacing zimage file)...will it work?
Also, can anyone tell me how to make a CWM zip...i know there is a post for that on XDA but i am not able to find it...

To answer the first question, it won't straight out work. You have to add the images to the file 'framework-res.apk' in the 'drawable-hdpi' folder located within it. Different framework-res.apk's will differ from ROM to ROM, and will just FC or bootloop your phone if you use one that it doesn't like. That's why most themes have the ROM they will work with posted in the title. If it is the same base ROM (in the case of my phone, running Assonance, any JK3 theme will work), then it is as simple as drag & drop. But if it's between say Axura and Assonance, it would have to be manually changed as stated above, since there may be subtle differences in the framework.
As for the second question, here ya go

If the theme was made for JPY and the Rom you want to put it on is JPY, it should work. However, there are sometimes system apps which need to be installed with the theme. Easyest thing would be to rip it off, put it on your rom and see if it works. Experiment a bit, thats how you'll learn.
thanks and thanks.
Its really interesting to have a full control of your phone....so i am enjoying learning this stuff....tried using UOT kitchen but got errors...
I just want to modify notification bar...
I am on darky's 7.7...i will have to look for compatible theme

There's plenty of jpy based themes in the i9000>theme section.
You could metamorph it if it doesn't require any xml edits... it looks like Marilyn img edits which could be taken foment that rom..

i have a question along these same lines. if one wanted to copy the notification pulldown from a different ROM|theme, how would you do so? im using Perception 9.5 which is built on JK3, but the Androdena theme is built on JPX files. all i want is the notification pulldown elements. can you just copy those image files over and go? i always see themers talking about 9.pngs and i was just wondering if they'd prohibit just a simple copy from one tw-framework to another.

The Feb 14 Rom stops at NAND failure so I have not been able to check.
BTW these themes only work on CM7 Nightlies or also on regular CM7 Roms?

Yes. Download zip file and extract the "system" folder from the zip to your /Storage Card/Android/root folder.
Start Android. It should work.

OK, sorry if this is a bit thick of me, but when I extract the zip there is also a METAInf folder - do I do anything with that? And also, what do I do with the dock in the extras folder? I can work wonders with CHT themes but find myself back in first grade as far as Android goes

METAInf folder has only the signatures for CWM flashing. Just do as I told you and it should work fine.
The apk's can be installed manually and docks png's need to be applied through the ADW or LauncherPro Dock settings.
Thanks for the feedback and helping each other out guys .

Theme/system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk/res/drawable-hdpi.
Theme/system/app/Facebook.apk/res/drawable-hdpi.
Theme/system/app/Twitter.apk/res/drawable-hdpi.
Theme/system/app/Youtube.apk/res/drawable-hdpi.

[Theme] Make your own theme: UOT Kitchen

Hi everybody!
I found a kitchen to make your own theme's but then i got stuck because cwm would instal it.
http://www.uot.dakra.lt/
After a lot of trail and error this is what worked for me:
Compile a theme using the upload of the framework-res.
Then when it is ready replace the update-binary, and insert the lge-res.apk in the same map as framework-res. Do this with a program like winrar.
Upload to external sd and instal with cwm
It was a pain in the butt getting there for a newbie like me.
