My battery meter messed up? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just switched to leofroyo, using radio 5.08 and pershoot's 2.6.35 kernal. Set CPU is set to 384 Max when screen is off. I've been unplugged for over 2 hours now and its still showing 100% charge. Even battery apps from the market shows 100% I KNOW this is incorrect. What do I need to do to get it working again? I've rebooted with no change. Any ideas?

Well, I went into the recovery console and wiped the battery stats. Rebooted phone and still showing 100%, but it just now dropped to 99%, 98% guess its fixed.

[Q] Deep Sleep

Hi Everyone
So, first of all im running cyanogenmod 7.1, tiamat 1.1.4 and s-off.
Two days ago I managed to get around 40 hours on a single charge because my phone went into deep sleep whenever I wasnt using it.
Yesterday I charged my phone and before i went to bed i was on 95% deep sleep, but when I woke up my phone had been running on 268Mhz all night. Now no matter what I do or what apps I close I cant get it to deep sleep. I have CPU spy installed hence why I know. I have not changed a thing about my phone between the 2-3 days.
So if anybody can help me figure out why it will not deep sleep that would be great. Failing that im thinking the only way to make it deep sleep is to throw it at the wall?
Thanks
Vizzy
If you rebooted your phone your going to have to bring up setcpu and any uv app you might have to reset your governor to your desired parameters.
I didn't reboot my phone? ...but ok I've downloaded setCPU so how do I go about refreshing everything to make it sleep?

Just set the variables in set cpu main screen than add a screen off profile with the max at 226 and min at 168 and it should deep sleep. Reset your cpuspy and battery usage stats. Than turn screen off for 10 minutes check cpuspy and battery usage to see what happened during your screen off. Report back if all is not well.

What is causing battery to drain?

I have a rooted note with CheckROM v6 that I flashed yesterday running CF-Kernel. Did a full charge yesterday night and I have noticed that my battery is draining rather quickly. Its been 3 hours since I've unplugged my phone and its been awake fully. I have screenshots from Better Batterystats. Can someone help me as to what is causing this drain? Attaching screenshots for reference.

Sorry. Looks like it didnt get uploaded when I attached it from the XDA app
I guess its a Kernel issue. flash different kernel.
Try shutting down as many apps as u can .. lower screen brightness and flash a different kernel. Also use easy battery saver. It really helps when ur battery level is low and u can't charge it immediately. Also see if its a problem with the rom.

Looks like your phone is not going to sleep at all. I read that this could be related to your wireless router - if you are at home it may be trying to constantly talk with your phone which is keeping it on. Try turning off wi-fi and see if the phone goes to sleep for a while. If that works then search for your wireless router in the forums - may show up what else needs to be done to configure it so the problem can be resolved.
The problem still exists even though my router has been switched off. Its been 9 hours and its still fully awake. As to flashing kernel, I flashed CF Kernel from Kitchen Pro. How do I go back to stock kernel that comes with CheckROM. I have tried closing all apps. Nothing much is open. Betterbatterystats stil shows *wifi* android system as running for 9 hours in partial wakelock. Also my screen brightness is set to 40% using ScreenFilter. I run screen filter 24*7
EDIT:I have noticed that this has been happening only after installing CF-Kernel. How do I get back to stock kernel thht comes with checkrom. I flashed CF using KitchenPro

Okay no one seems to have replied but I think the issue is resolved for now. After the battery came down to like 15% after 11 odd hours put the phone for charge. Came back and checked battery usage after like 30 odd mins and battery usage showed that the phone had not been awake for the time it was charged. Then I plugged it out once it was fully charged and the phone started behaving normally. Cheers!

You should probably flash a different modem.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
first i had this problem that android system was awake for some hour!! and now its up to some minutes. but still using a lot battery. i mean its the battery itself i guess. i don't know how to fix it
Install GO power master from Google Play, set screen brightness to auto and
Set CPU max MHz to 800 MHz that helped for me
---------- Post added at 10:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:01 AM ----------
And ofcourse like Summer Wizard said you could try different modems
i will try installing another modem. but i also think there is a problem with battery charging as i red in the internet. i mean it looks like when installing a new rom when your battery is not full, the new rom recognizes the battery levels not correctly so it cant be charged fully and it is always half the capacity. and now i realize that even android system is not being used for a long time but its using a considerable amount of battery so i guess its the battery itself. and also even when battery is charged fully(100%) i see the indicator on battery icon showing plugged in. as i used to see only battery icon when fully charged. it looks its always hungry!!!
i have this problem too and android system & andriod os is couse of that because they have most usage even all apps are cloused
Cm9 for me can only charge up to %98

Sent this while in sleep.

[Q] Phone turns off when charged

So it seems that my phone won't stay on when fully charged. If i leave it plugged in, once it gets to 100% it will shut itself off. I recently upgraded to CM10.1 nightly and have tried 3 different days. I've also found something about using setCPU, but that didn't seem to help either. Also, i can't turn it back on unless it is unplugged from the wall.
To make things worse, i noticed today that when i turned it back on (it turned itself off over night), it was at only 7% battery life. So now i have no idea what is going on.
Thoughts??

SoD.
There are quite a few things that can trigger it (like deep idle) but first I'd need to know what changes/mods you made.
So i was running CM 7 when decided to finally update to 10.1 nightly. That was major change and it started happening. Last night i downloaded setCPU, and configured that to keep minimum @ 200MHz when screen is off (hoping to keep it running and not going into deep sleep).

Did you go back to stock and factory reset first? Also, did you restore any system app or data with TiBu?
Are you running with stock kernel? If so, you could try flashing Semaphore.
I do not have a stock kernel, but it was the same one from when i was using CM7. I also updated from CM7 to 10.1 (no from stock), but i did do a factory reset. ANd no programs were restored, i freshly installed them all from the play store. I will try flashing Semaphore tonight and see how it goes.

Kernels for GB are quite different than for JB 4.2. When you flashed CM10.1, it most likely also flashed their stock kernel. This is what I meant by stock kernel.
any possibility that you've got a battery that is failing? or if the third pin is dirty, the power management chip could do that, even if the battery isn't fully charged. when the battery was at 7 percent after 'charging', what was the battery level before charging.
have you cleaned the batt terminals on both battery and phone?
hope this is helpful.

To make things even more confusing ... every time i reset the phone it comes up with a new battery level (anywhere from 5 to 17 to 60). new battery time?

Rapid battery drain

My phone randomly restarted itself and since then it has had serious problems. The battery never goes up and when unplugged it goes down ridiculously quickly and goes down 1% every 37 seconds. Running cm10.1.3 with Kodak kernel. All was fine until this restart. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Yet another thread about the battery?
Yours sounds like a more serious problem, but you could at least search and find the standrd trouble-shooting - check what is reported as using the battery for a start?
1% in 37 seconds cannot possibly be a software issue - even running every app, all hardware and CPU/GPU at full wouldn't do that.

i can imagine only one way for this to happen. perfomance governor or u did something wrong there thats buging the cpu to work 100% permenatly. use an app to watch your cpu usage, does the cpu go down to 102 when u do nothing or it stays up to 1000+ ?
if it stays up 1st thing check the governor and 2nd use wakelock detector to see exactly where the bug is so you dont do it again after reflashing the kernel.
Yes it does seem to go down to 102 but now the battery goes down 1% every 1 and a half minutes which is still too quick. Is it worth a factory reset? This problem occurred spontaneously so it has nothing to do with the kernel.

1% every one and a half is fine. everyone has battery drain around that percentage
Oh if that's the case then I should be alright. Its just that when the screen was on doing nothing just awake it went down that quickly. But whenever I'm doing something on the phone while its charging it still goes down which it never did before. Do you think its a software or hardware issue?

It still depends on what you are doing and whether you have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, high brightness, high CPU etc while you are doing it. When I used to play Ingress my battery would go down quicker than I could charge it - either from a high-current car charger or from my external battery pack.
