Wondering if the "Favorites" tab can be used as a quick launch for programs in stead of being linked to the favorites in internet explorer.
Thers a plugin called Clauncher or something like that. That enables you to quick launch all the programs you want...

Can the 6 tabs be customized to 3 tabs assuming i don't want the Profile, Weather & one more i cannot remember the name. I know that if i installed the Kaiser theme on my Hermes, i can get into the registry to customize the number of tabs. Can this be done on the Kaiser? How?
Just need to know before buying the Kaiser
Check out this site mate: http://www.pocketemu.com
Download the Customiser app and you can choose what tabs you want... and do a lot more mods too
Thanx for the link. Downloaded the program and now just waiting to purchase the Kaiser tomorrow
Is there anyway i can customize it via the registry? I'll rather not install 3rd party softwares cos i fear it might slow the Kaiser down on it's responds
yes you can eliminate tabs thru the registry
the tabs can be removed/reordered in the today screen settings
(settings -> today -> htchome)
this is only on the 6 tab version.
Is there a way to add program shortcuts to the today screen on the tilt? I want to add opera mini and a couple more so I don't have to search for them.
Thanks
If your using HTC home then you could add them in there, or you could use wisbar which allows you to do loads of things with the today screen
wisbar
Where do I find this program?
there are lots of desktop launchers. Here's a few:
Wisbar
http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/
iLauncher
http://ilauncher.en.softonic.com/pocket
or freeware cLauncher

look for download link on above page

....and the list goes on....
There's the free "HTC Plus" utility - kinda like a cut down HTC Home - see this post for details.....(there may be a later version, best to do a further search to make sure it's compatible with whatever ROM you're running).
Then there's Ultimate Launch here (site is in German, but you can run it through Google translation) that gives you a tabbed display (a bit like cLaunch that Mike mentioned above), but it's skinnable, so you can make it fit with your theme/colour preferences.....
Keep watching, I'm sure more will be along in a minute
Mark.

Thanks everybody, now I have a lot to play with.
What programs do i need and where do i get them? how do i install?
Welcome aboard, first off do not flash any roms till you have read this two or three times, well worth it and will save you some headaches..
Next be care of asking random questions till you have spent some time reading.
Flashing your first Rom

Afterwards spent some time reading the various rom threads in the rom development forum....there are lots of very coool roms in there...something to fit everyone...welcome aboard and prepared to be addicted....
There are a variety of different apps that all have their own style. I suggest that you peruse this forum, http://www.modaco.com, and also the XDA wiki for the Kaiser/tilt. there are MANY great programs to be found. Just install the .cab files or install them through activesync.
My personal favorites are (in no particular order):
Opera Browser 9.5 Beta
Skyfire Browser
Google Maps
PocketCAS (computer algebra system that can solve non-numeric equations)
SmartGear(multi-emulator software, have to pay for it but it's the smallest and fastest and stablest of all I've tried.)
HTC Home (comes standard with HTC ROMS and the new AT&T 6.1 ROM)
Total Commander (file browser that can edit system files)
Advanced Config (allows you to tweak many different settings in the Kaiser)
S2U2 (locking program that emulates the iphone locker)
iContact (great contact list you can scroll with your finger.)
There is also a cab to install of Paul's Picks and Tweaks which is a really good way to get some good tweaks right off the bat.
Here is what is on my Tilt (right now). They all seem necessary ....to me.
You can find any of them by googleing them.

What you need to do is read the Announcement at the Top of the Kaiser Section Forums. Also, A good place to start would be the links in my Signature.

I just did several reg edits to make SPB Home as today and to enable HTC task manager quick menu to visible on SPB Home, but no use.
And I am able to see an empty space at the upper right corner. Which is making me sick.
Is there any way to resolve this and enable HTC task manager Quick menu on SPB Home.
PS: I dont want to use any other task manager.(I love HTC Task manager)
I would also like to see this work, sometimes I have to switch to today screen only to see what programs are running.

Click to collapse
You can use SPB own task manager widget to see which programs are running.
I came to know that we have issues if we use two task managers. Problem is not while using the task manager(Another one like SPB task man.) but after uninstalling it. The default one(Like HTC Task man.) should work as it worked earlier. Which is not happening.
Also, why would I like to pay another 30$ and face issues when I have a good task manager(enough for me, even though not excellent) pre-installed on my mobile.
HTC's tsak manager also shows how much RAM is in use, SPB's doesn't.
The thing I miss about WM 6.1 is the recent programs on the start menu. I wonder if there is a way to create a Titanium plugin, TF3D page, or what ever to replace this functionality? It would list the last 10 programs you have opened...
MODS: Maybe a plugin/theme/software request thread here would be helpful? Then please just move this over there if you create one. Thanks!
