Google maps low on memory error? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just ran into something weird on maps. I turned in traffic move around and got an error. It said "low on memory traffic has been turned off". Has anyone seen this or knows a fix? I'm also running cm6rc1and I had lots of ram still. :/

[Q] Recommend live data monitor? Data constantly in use, why?

If anyone could recommend a good app to see what app(s) is/are accessing data in real-time, I'd appreciate it. I've noticed the circle arrows in the status bar indicating data syncing is almost constantly on. I have a tiny screen overlay that gives me real-time up/down speeds and it is also indicating data is constantly in use. It appears, though, that this data use is only in play while on wifi, not 3G or 4G, but the symbol will still remain in the status bar while the data monitor that i do have indicates no data is in use.
I'd like to find out what is constantly syncing and correct it. I can imagine this would be a huge drain on the battery. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT: I think I found the culprit, but didn't find an app as I had requested. Google Sound Search wouldn't stop syncing it seemed. I unchecked it and everything went back to normal... for the most part. Another Google Service appeared to begin syncing after that, so we'll see if that gets stuck in an endless loop too.

[Q] Moto X constantly uploading/downloading data in the background

I have an AT&T Moto X. I've noticed that EVERY time I turn on my screen the WiFi indicator shows data being uploaded and downloaded. I installed a data manager and it said Adblock Plus was eating up a ton of data. I uninstalled and rebooted. However anytime I turn the phone on the data is uploading and downloading in the background.
Nothing is keeping the CPU awake as its mostly in deep sleep mode. I also checked wakelocks and the only ones are the nlpwakelock which I assume is for the "OK, Google Now" feature. That shouldn't be doing it because I believe the data isnt sent to google until you actually ask it a question.
Not sure what else to do. Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: Also noticed in data manager that "Android OS services" data has been creeping up. Its only 187kb but it seems like that might be the culprit? Not sure what to do about it though.

GPS and Assist Notification

After either the 4.4.3 update or an update to Assist, any time I turn off my GPS I get a notification saying
"GPS needs to be on and set to high accuracy mode in order to detect your location and activity."
Has anyone else experienced this and/or knows how to turn it off?

Yes, I get it too, since the update. I clear it from the notification and I leave it on "device only" in location. I leave GPS on anyway, as I believe it only is active if an app needs it. I only get the message about the high accuracy setting if I reboot, but I just clear it away.

I've never heard this, I think if you were to leave GPS on stuff like Google Now & Location services would always use it... unless you were to deactivate those I suppose. Either way, It seems like it would be a pretty large battery drain.
I keep gps on and have Location set to high accuracy. On the Google Location Reporting at the bottom of the Location page, I have it set to off. This does not affect maps, navigation, etc., and I do not have high battery drain. The gps is only active when needed for something like navigation or Assist.
Then I guess I was wrong. Does your battery usually last the full day?
Yes, I last more than a day usually. I work out of home and am on good wifi so I don't rely on data that uses more battery. So I would characterize my usage as light, but I feel my battery is good. I haven't noticed much more, if any, drain since leaving gps on. I think the main thing is to turn off Google location services. I don't do anything that those services would help with.

Moto G 2014 com.motorola.easyprefix app no longer supported?

Hi everyone. After deleting "Motorola Boot Services" a notification from "Device Management" started to appear in status bar reading: "com.motorola.easyprefix app no longer supported, tap for de... " I've searched a lot about the issue, but no one else seems to be experiencing or asking about it anywhere so far. Quite frankly, I can't assure such a notification is directly related with deleting "Motorola Boot Services", but I can say it appeared right after that, although reinstalling "Boot Services" doesn't fix a thing. Also, tapping the notification for details, just leads to a "blank" screen without any details in it. No problem is apparently related to this notification yet though, it is showing way too frequently and is becoming a bit annoying. Doe's anybody had experienced, noticed, have an explanation or even fixed this problem?...
This is strange because I to started getting this error within the past week. However I never deleted any program and did not delete boot services.

Perhaps this is just another app no longer supported by Motorola. They actually did so with some other app(s), although this is annoyingly throwing a notification all the time...
so what do we do? got this as well, i havent removed anything
go in settings - apps - all - find device manager/management and turn its notifications off

Google Play Services acting weird

hello guys,
my OP3T did serve me very well over the last couple years but now im facing some strange behaviours. im running android 11 via ArrowOS in the latest version.
so one day i randomly got a text saying that im about to reach my data limit which is weird, as i barely do anything with my device. i checked the setting and found out that my device downloaded almost 5 GB of a system update i was not aware of or even could find any info about (pic 1 + 2 + A). adding to that another 15 GB when hooked on the wifi. (pic 3),
although pic 7 shows the app having ACTUALLY downloaded only around 200 MB.
through the battery stats i found out that google play services appeard to be active 24/7 and sucking the battery dry, literally >> 99% ????
i cleared the cache of google play services already but completely deactivating is not an option as its linked to every other app there is.
any help you guys could offer? if possible without resetting the device or reflashing.
thx
I normally keep Google play Services disable unless I need it for Gmail or Playstore.
It's a trouble maker.
Google backup Transport runs as a dependency of it as well, that may be your culprit.
Since Pie Google Android has mutated into a even more fat big sister of a hog. Who needs that?!
i tried that but my phone keeps constantly buzzing then as it finds more and more apps that stopped working and i get notification after notification.
