I made both of the bootanimation for my G1's using MS-Paint, just to prove im a guru with Photoshop, and i want to share it with the people here; i hope you like it. READ THE README FILE and if you dont understand it; ASK question.
Code:
1. You'll need a screen resolution of 320x480/Rooted Android phone
2. Have ADB and Fastboot setup on you PC
3. Boot Android into Fastboot
4. Flash the BootSplash with this command => fastboot flash splash1 mysplash.rgb565
5. Reboot into your Android OS
6. Change boot animation with these commands :
1st command => adb remount
2nd command => adb push [Black/White]Bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
7. Reboot Android and check if you did everything right.

well i happened to have some problems with a theme i was using that made the icons appear themed even in cyanogens roms , and i was told that i needed to flash the htc adp image to fix that
the problem comes here i flashed the htc adp image but i forgot to read what cyanogen said that i had to flash his rom before rebooting
so i just found that cyanogen gives us something to follow just in case it happens what happened to me here http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/RE-recovery-img
i went to ''if you currently have an engineering or a Hard SPL'' and followed all the procedures until i got to number 4 where it asks me to Change directory to where you have saved your recovery image..i've tried lots of paths but none seems to work...ADB NOOB HERE so please help
when you didnt follow the process, you lost root.
you have to start from scratch.
.............................................................................
i typed
cd C:\recovery-RA-dream-v1.5.2.img
and it tells me the directory name is invalid what am i doing wrong?
recovery image is not a directory, it'a file. What are you trying to do?

im trying to flash amon ra recovery via fastboot
Easier to do it from adb
Code:
adb remount
adb shell flash_image recovery C:\recovery-RA-dream-v1.5.2.img
reboot
Just a tip: I usually rename files into something easier to type, like ra152.img. Up to you though.
You can also do it from terminal (place file on the root of sdcard)
Code:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/filename.img
reboot
If you must do it via fastboot
Start your phone in fastboot mode (camera/power)
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-dream-v1.5.2.img
fastboot reboot

i would do this..but i cant since i messed up when flashing the htc adp image im following cyanogens tutorial http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/RE-recovery-img and it says that i have to flash the new recovery through fastboot , and the part im stuck at is step 4 where he says that i need to Change directory to where you have saved your recovery image
if you can get into the main phone operating system via a boot up then use linda file manager to move them
when i type this
fastboot recovery recovery-RA-dream-v1.5.2.img
i get this message "error: cannot load 'recovery-RA-dream-v1.5.2.img
then i changed the directory to where the recovery image was and when i tried to flash i got this message
'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
Not sure, I'm not anywhere near my computer. Try putting your recovery image into different locations (i always put it on desktop) and rename it to something simpler, without any punctuation or special characters (i suggest rec.img). Also... make absolutely sure that you're NOT naming it rec.img.img . Make sure that your PC is not hiding your extensions.
Then, connect your phone to the computer, start your phone in fastboot mode (not Hboot or serial, if you see serial or Hboot on your screen then tap return button)
In command line type
Code:
fastboot devices
to make sure that you're connected
then type
Code:
cd desktop
your directory should change to something like C:\user\desktop (make SURE there are no spaces anywhere in user name, fastboot has problem with that. I had to rename my account to "EugeneAndLiz"a from "Eugene and Liza" because of that)
then type
Code:
fastboot recovery rec.img
fastboot reboot
and let us know how did it go for you. I'l be lurking around here for a while, hopefully we can resolve this.
Good luck

im going to tell you step by step what i do
turn the phone off
hold power and back
i see the androids on skateboards and it says fastboot in red letters
i connect my phone via usb then the name changes to fastboot usb
run the cmd
once there i type where adb is located which is cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
then when i type fastboot devices
i see the serial number of my phone
now when i type cd desktop i get this message "the system cannot find the path specified"
and if i ignore that and try to flash
fastboot flash recovery rec.img (yes i did rename the recovery image)
it says that it cant load 'rec.img'
Got it! Put your image file into the "tools' folder and once you see your device in the fastboot just flash it from there
Code:
cmd
cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery rec.img
fastboot reboot
Sorry about all this complication... the main idea is that your recovery needs to be in the same directory as you're when you're flashing. So if earlier you went to tools folder then your file needs to be there as well.
Try it out.
it worked...it said sending 'recovery' <4456 KB>... okay
writting 'recovery'...okay
fastboot reboot
then when i go to the system recovery..its the same htc adp one
i tried to flash amon ra's recovery and cyanogens
oh nevermind..instead of rebooting the phone i just unpluged the device and wnet directly into the system recovery and YES i have cyanogens recovery thank you so much borodin1
hmmmm that's weird because you got confirmation....
1. Did you download right recovery? You had to becaue you tried 2 of them and you can only make the same mistake once lol
2. AmonRA's recovery has the same image in the background as HTCs, are you sure that it's still HTC's recovery?
Other then that... I'm clueless
Can you get su in the adb shell? Try flashing it from adb....
You got me stomped on this.... Anyone else wants to take a shot at this????
i dont know what happened but when i flashed the recovery image on fastboot and then rebooted the phone...then turn off the phone and went to the system recovery and the htc adp recovery appeared...blue letters and the scrolling options..but when i did not reboot the phone after flashing the image and went directly to the system recovery i had the recovery i flashed...then i applyed the updateand everything is good now
weird uh?
will that new recovery stick?... I'm starting to remember something but it's vague... give me few minutes Reboot couple of times into recovery and back for now and see what happens...
it did stick..i just rebooted into recovery and i have the new recovery..haha
Great! Happy modding!
Hi, I have heard a few of you have been getting error when Flashing a boot img recovery and fastboot.
Today I noticed the same thing to my device. I fixed it....
Here's how
1. Download This KDZ
Clockwork Recovery Rom.kdz
2. Download KDZ_UPD_En
From Here: KDZ_upd_fw_en
3. Extract the KDZ zip you downloaded and run KDZ_Updater.exe
4. In the dropdown menu's select 3GQPT and If your phone is running select DIAG
5. Open the clockwork recovery rom.kdz hit the open button and find it in your file directories.
6. Then Select Update now.
[TIPS] - If you are using a PC use the back ports of the PC
- If the update fails restart your PC and do steps 4 and 5 again.
- If your update doesn't finish and your phone doesn't work, keep trying again
Wait for it to finish
After it has finished.
1. Your phone may not boot if you came from a custom rom. Reboot into fastboot and type Command in CMD: (Make Sure you have fastboot and fastboot drivers installed) (My fastboot is in C:\Android
cd C:\Android
fastboot -w (wipe all data)
2. Download CWM recovery img from here
3. Rename the img to recovery.img that you just downloaded
4. Copy that to where your fastboot is setup. eg mine is in C:\android
5. Type commands: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
6. Then type Fastboot reboot
Now reflash you rom and you should have no errors

Thanks and I so have fastboot installed but maybe not sdk!!
Edit: i did your steps from 1-6 and now my phone is stuck on the android boot logo!!!!
Is this2.1 stock?? Also there is no mode called 3 GQPT!!
I followed all the instrutions and now my phone is stuck on the android logo!!!
Please help!!! (Its been quite a while)
Edit2: Sorry my fault i didn't do fastboot -w!!
It would be good if you wrote that on your post!!!
And i am thinking of staying on stock 2.1 !!!
Note:I'm going to assume you have the Fastboot and ADB Drivers installed and the boot loader is unlocked!
Why is this here?
This thread is made to help new users install the developers preview through what I think is the fastest way and safest way too through the command prompt on Windows.
Responsibility!
If your device becomes bricked, makes toast for you, and anything else I did not mention its simply not my fault since you took it upon your self to do this method.
Credits! Thanks Google for this lovely Operating System. Thank you Chain Fire for providing this method to root Android Lollipop and for your app and boot.img too! Thanks to LG for manufacturing this great device to use and enjoy stock Android. Finally, big thanks to TWRP for providing us with this recovery!
The Steps!Step 1: Download the Lollipop preview HERE, extract it and open the folder with all the image files along with the radio and bootloader image too.
Step 2: Drop all the images to your folder that contains the ADB and Fastboot files
Step 3: Open the folder that contains the ADB and Fastboot files
Step 4: Hold the shift key and right click and click "Open command window here"
Caution! Make sure you back up everything before you begin the process if not its not my fault you forgot to back up.
Step 5: Make sure your device is in fastboot and connected. We are going to replace the boot loader for a newer one. Please make sure the boot loader image name first before we began because i'm just going to use boot loader as a example the real file name will be different. Type the command shown below.
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
Step 6: Now we are going to flash the Radio as also stated above be sure to check the image name before we flash.
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
Step 7: Now we are going to flash userdata. This part you don't have to worry about the file name you can just copy and paste the command but, I would double check.
Code:
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
Step 8: Now going to flash boot or the kernel just as step 8 and here from out I will let you know when you have to worry about the file name again.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Step 9: Now were flashing the system files.
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
Step 10: Now were flashing the a custom recovery (twrp for this example) so we can install the SuperSU files later. You can get the recovery image HERE and rename it "Trecovery" and place it to the same folder. After flashing it go to the recovery and from there reboot it.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery Trecovey.img
Yay! We got Android Lollipop now we have to root it.Step 1: Let Andriod Lollipop boot up and go download SuperSu on your device by going to Chainfire SuperSU thread and click on his installable zip link and download SuperSU 2.14 or above. On your computer download his modified boot image HERE and rename it Rboot.img and move it your folder where the ADB and Fastboot files are.
Step 2: On your computer go to fastboot again on your phone and type the code in below.
Code:
fastboot flash boot Rboot.img
Step 3: Go to recovery and install the SuperSU zip as usual, reboot, and that's it. Enjoy!

Thanks for your work. Unfortunately, we already have a sticky thread on flashing images and rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
The method to flash and root lollipop is no different than any other version.
Because we don't want multiple threads with the some information I will close this thread
Thanks.
Thought I would add this small guide here as I’ve been trying to find something similar and didn’t.
Before I start-off, All the credits go to the amazing XDA Developers and their respective mods, as things would’ve never been this easy or straight-forward without their dedication and hard work. Namely @bunny0007 , @intersectRaven , @invisiblek and @Tomsgt
Having both the LG G Watches, It was only a matter of time that I too wanted the new OTA Updates, so as to use the sort-of-amazing features it promised. Now being on a Stock-rooted 5.1.1 firmware from @bunny0007 and running a Custom Kernel from @intersectRaven, I was told that it wouldn’t be possible to get the OTA installed even if it popped-up (Well it would install, but not actually show anything) This I tried, But when the watch rebooted; it showed a dead android bot with an exclamation over it’s guts! Which to me meant, things weren’t apparently going in the right direction. After a couple of trials, this* is what eventually worked ...
*A word of caution before you proceed, this worked for me and “might” not work for you. So if your watch gets nuked or bricked (which again, I highly doubt it would), it ain’t my fault but yours and murphy’s alone!
Now that’s out of the way, Let’s make sure we have the bare necessities such as:
A PC that can run ADB and Fastboot Commands using CMD, usually Installed by:
◦ The 15 Seconds ADB Installer - XDA Post
◦ The Android SDK Platform Tools - link
◦ The Necessary Google Drivers - link
The Stock 5.1.1 (LDZ22D) Boot, Recovery and System images:
◦ For G Watch - link
◦ For G Watch R - XDA Post
The most recent TeamWin Recoveries
◦ For G Watch (dory) - link
◦ For G Watch R (lenok) - link
The Wear SuperSU, that can be used on both the watches - link
*Optional: The Custom Kernels
◦ For G Watch by @invisiblek - XDA Post
◦ For G Watch R by @intersectRaven - XDA Post
*Optional: The Advanced Settings App - Google Playstore
*These are strictly optional and are only based-off of my personal preferences. Feel free to install any custom kernel or tweaking apps of your choice.
TIP: If you need to flash a file from a particular folder, You can invoke CMD by holding the Shift Key and Right-click to see the Open command window here option.
1) Restoring to Stock & Relocking the Bootloader (This is only if you have unlocked your bootloader and have rooted previously)
a. Make sure, the watch is charged to a 100%, Can’t stress this enough!
b. Enable Adb Debugging on your watch. Eh, how?
Go to Settings > About.
Tap on the Build Number repeatedly until it says You’re a Developer.
Go back and tap on Developer options and Enable ADB Debugging.
As you place the watch on the cradle that is connected to your PC, you’ll be prompted to Are you sure?, Select Always allow from this computer and click OK.
Once you have downloaded and extracted the appropriate Image zip for your watch into a folder. You should see the following files: Boot.img, Recovery.img and System.img!
c. Now Access CMD will elevated privileges or in other words as admin and enter the following codes:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot -w
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Code:
fastboot reboot
With the final command, the watch will reboot showing the Lg logo minus the lock sign, which means the bootloader has been locked. It should then continue onto boot into Android Wear. Yes, it’s going to take some time to complete, so be patient and let it do it’s thing.
2) Installing the OTA Update
Once the watch boots into android wear, Go through the initial setup and link it with your phone. Then go to Settings > About > System Updates, where you’ll see your new update being downloaded. When done, Accept to install and the watch will reboot to install the update without any issues. Once completed, It will upgrade the existing apps on the watch and boot into Android wear.
Congrats, You have now installed the new update!
3) Unlocking the Bootloader & Flashing TWRP
As with any other android device, You’ll need to unlock the bootloader to install a custom recovery. So enable debugging the same way as mentioned at the beginning of this guide. Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Code:
fastboot reboot
The watch will reboot showing the Lg logo with an unlocked sign, meaning the bootloader has been unlocked. Again, as it boots into android wear, Go through the initial setup and link it with your phone. Enable Adb Debugging, Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-lenok.img
Now on the watch, using the < O > keys, select Recovery Mode and press the O key to enter into TeamWin Recovery. This is required to be done only once, because if you directly reboot after flashing the recovery, there are chances it won’t work. Proceed to reboot by pressing the Reboot button in TWRP.
4) Sideloading SuperSU and Installing it using TWRP
Once the watch has booted back up, Invoke CMD and enter the following commands to push SuperSU zip & to reboot into recovery:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb push Wear-SuperSU-v2.40.zip /sdcard/
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Now on the watch, You should be in TWRP. Select Install and scroll down to find the zip and swipe to flash. It will show as successful and proceed to reboot.
Congrats, You are now rooted and how do you check you are? Once the watch has rebooted into android wear. Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
5) Install the Custom Kernel (Optional)
This is more of an individual choice on which custom kernel you want to use, As it depends on how you use the watch. Myself being a light user, I use the single core vr of the custom kernel from the dev @intersectRaven to make it more battery friendly. Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot boot single.boot.img
That is, If you want to boot the image temporarily, but this will reset to stock after a restart or
Code:
fastboot flash boot single.boot.img
Code:
fastboot reboot
6) Install Advanced Settings (Optional)
This free tiny little app has been a lifesaver and gets updated often with new features. There are lots of things you can configure and tweak without the need to edit manually via adb.
Guess I’m done then, I hope this guide helps someone in some way And also to get the best out of their watch …
Thanks mate this was really nice of you, thumbs up
Hi, first of all, I'm not a dev or else just user who had difficulties to flash GSI on my phone... Was 7 years with a samsung galaxy Note 3, with twrp....So easy to flash....
with the help of @gr0ndpa, thanks to him.....
FLASH GSI
Now I will explain how to flash easily with files attached
1/ first of all you need a phone and drivers installed, use xiaomi pc suite, unzip and install it
2/ you need to activate USB debug in dev options.
3/ dl platform tools folder unzip it and put in C
4/ run command and type
Code:
cd /adb
5/ then
Code:
adb devices
to check if phone recognised
6/
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
once in fast boot
7/
Code:
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
wait finished type to enter in fastbootD
8/
Code:
fastboot reboot fastboot
9/
Code:
fastboot flash system
LiR 313.XXX.img
you will have a system error, but wait the flash begin in few seconds
at the end wait ok then
10/
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
on stock recover
11/ wipe data and reboot with +/- and PWR
and you're done...
In case you want to flash custom kernel or patched boot image to root with magisk, you have to
12/
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Copy kernel boot image to C drive and rename kernel boot image to boot.img.
13/
Code:
fastboot flash boot c:\boot.img
14/
Code:
fastboot reboot
In case you want to flash twrp put the file to adb folder and type in fastboot
15/
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
You can check what I ve done on tuto ss...

Flash ROM
This now how to flash ROM on your device, it's convenient for all roms like LOS, corvus, awaken...
First you need all the proper drivers installed and unlocked bootloader, USB debugging all of that stuff.
Now open up a cmd/terminal , and put the files i sent and the ROM file in the folder from where you're opening the cmd/terminal and connect the phone (you may need to put ./ as an suffix for all the commands if you're on linux)
Type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Then type
Code:
fastboot devices
to see if everything is ok
Then type
Code:
fastboot flash boot_ab boot.img
(you can drag and drop the file instead of typing it)
After that's done type
Code:
fastboot flash vendor_boot_ab vendor_boot.img
(you can drag and drop this too if you want)
Code:
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
(you can drag and drop this too if you want)
After that's done type
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
This will boot you into a recovery and now you need to go to wipe and format data
After that go to apply update then adb sideload then
In the cmd type
Code:
adb sideload rom.zip
for example (you put the ROM zip here you can drag and drop it)
Wait for that to finish it will go to 47% and on the phone it will show step 1/2 then step 2/2
and when it's done it's gonna show an error
adb: failed to read command: No error
Then you can reboot to system
One more
Two more
This the tuto I follow to flash renoir, who have same characteristic than all Note 12 series... Tuesday I can confirm it works
I'm having a problem that my phone can't go to fastboot via CMD after I flash vbmeta.
Is is me doing wrong or also happen to you?
