Hi all.
I have a request to the chefs.
For quite a while I was trying to find the most stable (for my purpose) ROM for my Blackstone. At the moment the best I have is Sunrise 2.7 - perfect in my opinion. The only problem is - I'm not good with French...
My question is: Can someone cook a new ROM for me please in English? Or post a link to the existing one? I didn't found any...
Alternatively, you can advice which ROM is most stable, quickest and most reliable? It takes few days to try ROM, so obviously I haven't try them all.
Thanks in advance,
Yeramihi

Unfortunately mate there is no such thing as the perfect rom. Everyone has different tastes, favourite chefs so what I may consider as being the most stablest, fastest etc, you may disagree etc etc
If you have found a rom already which you consider ticks all these boxes except for the French part, why not ask within that rom thread, you may find other french users or that chef may make you a french rom
Alternatively you will just have to keep searching
Best of luck

Hello everyone! I recently purchased an O2 XDA mini S. It was originally a German O2 contract and I want to change it to an english/american non O2 branded system. Which Rom should I update with? I have visted the wizard folder in the FTP, but there are so many different ROMs. I can't tell which ones are good plus meet the english / non-branded criteria.
Thanks for any assistance
(As you surely guessed, I'm not a developer. Please excuse errors in terminology etc. )
****EDIT - Just realized that this should go in Wizard updating. Please move if possible****
At first you must CID-unlock your phone, if you want any ROM with edited OS version.
And than you can flash: Faria`s ROM, Ridsoro`s ROM or mine and Jimm98y`s superrom, and others.
Look at the forum and choose that, what is best in your opinion
Make sure you do your reading before you do anything else. You can really **** up your phone if you dont know what your doing.
the WWE stands for world wide english.. i guess this is what ur looking for
There are thousands of posts on the same.
Maybe I can make the question simpler
What is the Best and Most Stable ROM available at the moment?
Is there a thread whcih contrasts all hese different ROMS?
I think that's a great question... in fact, the answer should almost be stickied:
"What is the best and most stable ROM for a non-advanced user?"
Gotta run; somebody should set up a poll. As of right now, and my knowledge is definitely limited, I'd vote for Molski 2.26 Final.
Which Rom to use
You're going to get as many answers as posts on this one. I think xelencin's is the best for newbies:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=274205
a poll on this would be cool.
So I just got my new Diamond (Hong Kong traditional chinese version), version below:
ROM: 1.37.832.4 CHT
Date: 06/23/08
Radio: 1.00.25.03
Protocol: 52.26a.25.09H
I wanted to get the most out of the little phone. What tweaks and fixes I need to do to get to everyone elses "standard" ? Such as updating, changing the language to english, some kind of ways to backup my old ROM, speed fix on the menus and navigation, tweaks on longer battery life Also tell me if there is more needed.
Can anyone tell me where to get those stuff (Or if those things exists) ? I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much !
update to WWE rom and flash the radio, use the roll up stickies as tutorials at the top of the pages, read, search and you will find.
no one here will want to find it for you. open your eyes and take a look around. its all here.
end of topic.

Hey, I am new to this and I don't have the slight understanding of how these things work. That is why I'm asking for help. I wouldn't want to install the wrong things and kill my diamond (It happened before with my PSP =/).
But thank you for answering. Is updating the rom and radio all I need ?

Ouch, harssshhh.
To the original postah... Search for "Diamond Tweaks", should be a sticky in this forum. Those should help a lot for the performance of your Diamond. You CAN flash a new ROM and radio (make sure to Hard SPL first, search on how to do that!) but it's not necessary and taking a risk... Not a very big one, but devices have been turned to paperweights from flashing messups many times. To keep it basic use those Diamond Tweaks, start your device off right with Schaps Advanced Configuration tool (www.touchxperience.com) and TF3D Config, maybe Diamond Tweak (a program called that, searchsearchsearch) as well. To get a registry editor you can also go to touchxperience.com, you'll need that for most of the tweaks. Now go, go, go!
Thanks for the answers.
I have decided to flash the Rom cause I wanted to get the best out of the phone.
I come across this guide on flashing: http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26
And this for list of Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413910
The problem I have now is that I don't know which Rom is the best to flash into. And whats the difference between Offical and Cooker rom (Which is better)?
Again, thanks for answering. I appreciate it.
each person have different prefrenses and use their pda's for different things
which is why there are more then one rom called superrom which everybody use
so it is kinda hard to answer the question which one is best for you
trying various is most likely the best path

Yeah there is alot of them. =/
I'll try them out.
But can you tell me if the cooker ones are better than the offical ones ?
And is this the official English Rom: RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_1.93.456.2 ?
Thx !

...better? They are newer; look: Just like in Windows XP Microsoft also generates new builds of windows mobile. Also HTC does this with his own applications. The cookers always takes the newest builtds and gave us the great roms!
ok?
Just look at it like this, cooked roms are customized by people on here that want better performance, the official roms are what HTC puts out to try and make it work for everyone. If you find a cooked rom that works for your needs, it's likely to be better because it doesn't include all of the stuff that doesn't interest you. Better yet, you could cook your own rom if you really want to, look for a tutorial on it. Not incredibly difficult, just takes some time to learn. (This is my perception of it, I've never cooked a rom myself but it doesn't seem so impossible)
Thank you guys, I chose the SwiftBL for the Rom since it have just what I need and much more.
But I have another question about the Radio Rom. I have the Radio version 1.00.25.03 and I wanted to ask do I need to update/change it ? If it's not necessary, can I skip this step and just update my Rom and not the Radio ?
Thx !
if you don't want to brick your diamond

read!?! nobody told me i was suppose to read before trying to flash my phone for the first time?!! jk
yeah, just look around at the different tutorial on here, and it should help you to better understand it. I just got my diamond last week, and i can't believe how much i can change on this phone compared to my old S60 v3 phone...
I wouldn't change the radio unless you have issues with reception... But that's me, I'm very conservative compared to most on here when it comes to flashing/changing major aspects of the phone.
I have completed the flashing the Rom and Radio on my Diamond and thank god it didn't brick.
Everything is done now so thank you guys very much for everything.

Hi guys,
I know there are a lot of 6.5 roms here, but nut sure what to choose .
I've just tried a "LEo" 6.5 version which seems to me slow for my Blackstone.
Anyone can recommend some light/stable 6.5 roms I could try ?

Dont know any light roms. kwbr has a ROM that has a base of the stock ROM from rhodium. It seems to be quite stable. Otherwise i cant help you further. Just try out some and stick to the one you like the most
Another thing. Asking about a ROM is not quite popular around here. Recomending a specific ROM is wrong to other chefs. I hope you understand
As stated above to recommend a rom is generally frowned upon as it creates endless long threads due to each indivdual having a different opinion. As such threads like these are generally closed by admin or mod's
Rick
p.s. Best advice would be to try a few, possibly have a read through first few posts of each rom thread and check this benchmark thread
Hello,
I'm sorry, I think this question has been asked many times.
How to port the HD2's official ROM (sys and soft) on the HD1?
I am aware that I will have to integrate the drivers from the HD1.
Thanks!
PS: Sorry for my english.
Just look for roms that include HTC Sense 2.5
This is the manila that is used on the HD2. I have tried Duttys and Energy's 2.5 Roms and both run down the battery a lot quicker than HTC Sense 2.1
Its personal choice, i like 2.5 but cant realisticly use it unless the battery life can be increased. Hope this helps
Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562952
I'm looking for a french 6.5(.x) rom but the choice is very very limited.
And those available are too modified...
That 's why I want to port the official HD2's ROM to the HD1.
Thanks!

Hi.
This is very common question. If you say "how to port...", then the answer is read this forum. If you don't quite satisfy with the ROM cooked by chefs here, I suggest you start to read about "how to cook..." which can be found in this forum. That way you can cook ROM as you want.
Don't take this wrong way my friend, but you should ask the forum rule before create new thread otherwise will be closed by Mod.
Cheers.

If you find anything stable let me know. I will be receiving my HTC HD tomorrow and I´m still looking into the best ROM. Since I´m pretty new on this I count with your expertise to help me out. (Obrigado)
hi,
in my opinion, because i'd test a lot of rom's...don't exist a portuguese stable rom.
the more stable and fastest rom's that i test was the Energy ROM's, Cloudy 1.8 C5 and blackSTONEhenge™ HyPer v1.0...i'm actualy using the cloudy rom but the blackSTONEhenge was stable too...but for some days only in my device...and the cloudy is stable since i'd flash it...maybe since 08.05.10...
try some of the rom's in the forum...the rom's have a different behaviors in different devices...you have some lights now...so test and find your choice.
cheers.
Great, thank you.
I have a friend who have the energy Rom and he like, nothing to report..
but, not much like having the Phone in another language ...
Regards
Never have tested because english is quite fine for me but here what I've found:

P.S.: Portuguese seems to be 816.
Good day
Currently available rom the IODA is outdated.
Unfortunately there has been no news from him ...
I used a few versions of IODA, and has even been beta tester.
Right now, I am dependent on energy since April rom ...
They are very complete, although lately he has made some major changes that are possibly the cause of some blocks, which can only be solved through soft reset through the beloved red button next to the battery ...
However, for those who like to change the rom, the master NRGZ28 created a fairly complete application that lets you export the settings from our manila and other various settings, to be imported after installing the new rom. all explained in your thread ...
I am sorry that there is no rom in Portuguese, but for our HD aconcelho the Energy ...
Hug
Thanks i will teste the energy
Hoping to come a Portuguese ROM
Maybe in this thread we can informed what ROM's is better for to the Portuguese users.
Regards
Post #8 is a workaround to change the language in the touchflo by the way.

Yes i see... Thank you.
I Will trie to translate to portuguese.
