1) You have posted in the wrong forum.
2) Market works fine in 2.2 unless you flashed one of the pre-release builds.
The sticky at the top of the N1 gen forum tells you in bold NOT TO ASK QUESTIONS.
Ask them in the Q/A section. Gen section is for news, tips only...

I'm having the same, or very similar problems. Basically, I'm seeing paid apps, and my purchases, but I'm not seeing the "Top Paid" tab, nor is the Market acting in any sane or rational way. For example, I install an app, and the notification bar will say downloading, then installing, then the notification that it installed. In the Market download window, though, I see it download, then switch to installing, but never get beyond that.
What started all this with me was this. Using Linda File Manager, I uninstalled a couple of apps (was trying out the feature since I was in there). In this case, it was Google Earth (don't really use it), and a Pirate game that I never grocked. Anyway, in the Market they wouldn't leave my list in the Downloads, so I wiped the cache and data in the Market app in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications.
After that, all my apps appeared as uninstalled in the downloads window, and the issue with installation started. First thing I did was try and reinstall all the apps, and ended up with a huge list of apps that were installed, but were marked as still installing by the market. Killing the market app cleared out the hung install progress bars. The other thing that started happening was that not all of my installed apps appeared in my download list. KO Boxing, for example was on the featured list as upgradable, but it wasn't in my download list to upgrade.
Ultimately, what I decided to do was wipe the phone and see what happened. After wipe, I logged in and FRF91 didn't restore my apps like it had in the past. In fact, the market was exactly the same as it was before the wipe, with all my apps showing as free or purchased. Installing issue was also the same. Now, I know that Google backs up the settings, so I thought maybe that had something to do with it. I wiped again, but in the configuration process post-wipe, I selected for Google to not restore from backup (hit menu in the setup when you are entering your username/password). This brought me through the process much quicker, but with no change in the market function.
So, I'm still without a "Top Paid" tab, nor with a all together sane Download window. It's frustrating the heck out of me, and I'm about to go back to whatever the 2.1-r1 release was (ERE27?) and see if that makes any different.
The ROM I'm running is the FRF91 full release from lox_dev:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715799
If T-Mobile is doing the OTA's to FroYo from 2.1-r1, then maybe I'll let it do it's own thing today and then see if that fixes it. Ugh.

The above snipped sections are my story too.
Updated last week manually from ERE27 to FRF85b to FRF91 using the official stock clients each time. Non rooted N1. I spent 6 hours on Friday night trying to sort this..
I've got posts up on the Google Nexus One forums also and am holding where I am for a definitive fix. It's very frustrating though..
Go to menu>applications> magage applications> all apps> market then force quit and clear data and whatever else is in there.

I tried that on Friday night. Once I'd done that, none of my installed apps showed in the Downloads section.
That's why I did a full wipe and set the phone back up. Luckily I was still able to find all my apps, including the purchased ones. However the missing 'Top Paid' button and slow market performance persisted.
So, for fun, I pushed back to ERE27 (2.1-r1) and same issue. No "Top Paid" in the Market, and issues with installation. This is complete wipe, nothing installed on the phone after imaging.
I let it upgrade to FRF91, which didn't change anything. I'm now pretty convinced that whatever this is is completely account related on the Google server side of things, and it needs to be sorted out by them
Guess I'll have to figure out who to contact for support from Google :/

I'm working the Google angle also plus have posts on several forums and watches on more.
Please can you keep this thread updated with your progress and I'll do the same.

I've made contact with Google via email and this is now being investigated.
I'm sending them a summary of the problems I've been having and pointing them at various threads both here and in the Market so that they can see how widespread this problem is.
I've also tried a full hard reset and cache wipe without luck. My belief is that this is something that Google need to sort server-side, so I'm done with my wiping and reinstalling for now...

Looks like this has now been fixed server-side.
I got my 'Top Paid' tab back this morning - Yay!

[Q] JPO Missing Market Purchased Apps?

Ok i know theres info on fixing missing apps but searching yields nothing. Im hoping im not being too thick.
Anyway, upgraded firmware to JPO via Kies today and i seem to have lost a couple of apps from the market that I had originally purchased.
Audio Manager skins/ADW. skins, Slingplayer, extended controls to name a few
Can someone link me to info on how to fix this? Im sure there was an XDA app somewhere or at least info on how to resolve.
Thanks in advance
Just wanted to add that JPO is rooted, which im guessing is required to trick MArket into thinking im on 2.1 still

Hi. I believe that I have read that if you sign into your Google Account online that you should be able to follow links to your Android apps to see what you have installed / purchased.
I am not sure if you can re-install from here via usb or something but atleast you will be able to find them.
If Im wrong then please somebody correct me...
No thats not the issue. I know you can do that but some of the purchased apps are now missing from the download list... Thats the issue i have

OK siolved this annoying little prob and now I see all my missing apps in the download part of Market once again!!!!!1
Download 'Eris Market Fix' from the market and run it.
Its not for the SGS directly but it has been quoted in XDA as working and it worked for me!!!!!
SUPER!!!

I've lost Cleartune Tuner, and Tricerasoft Karaoke.
They don't appear in my purchased apps list in Market, nor in Market searches.
How can I get my apps back? I have some version in MyBackup Pro, but if I can't get them from Market, I won't get any more updates :-(
How to fix this without root? I upgraded to JPO with KIES and I didn't expect it to steal my software

[Q] Google Earth "The requested item could not be found" in market

Hey all - sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. I did a fair amount of research and tried a number of things before posting.
For some reason, I'm unable to update Google Earth on my cappy. App Brain shows there's an update available, but when I attempt to open the market link from App Brain, I get "The requested item could not be found". When I attempt to search for Google Earth in the market itself, I cannot find it.
I'm running stock JH7, rooted - so far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with my build.prop.... any ideas on what might be going on, and how to fix it w/o having to wipe the device?
The only other thing I can think of that might have played a role is the fact that I flashed a Cog. ROM on my device, but ended up going back to stock (first with an Odin restore, then restoring a Clockwork backup I had made of my device before flashing).
Any ideas would be awesome.

Thanks for the response - but it's still not showing up.
Other Google products do show up, however. If I go to the market page for one (say Reader) and tap "View more applications" it'll bring up all the apps by Google Inc, but no Earth.
I'm just kinda confused about this.
That is wierd. Sorry I can't help more.
No worries, I appreciate the thought, nevertheless.
I may try flashing back to bone-stock to see if that'll clear things up if there aren't any other suggestions in the next few days.
Any other experts have any ideas on this? I'm trying to go from version 1.2 to 1.2.1 (the current version), if that makes any difference.
Do you happen to have the sgs tools app? If so run the market fix in it and try that. If not you have to get it on xda as the developer is no longer supporting it.

I had the same problem and I searched Google for google_earth.apk
and found a link in :
Google Earth Missing From Market After 2.1 Update - Android Market ...
It worked for me, downloaded the apk and sideloaded.
I cannot post the link itself because I am under 8 posts.
It was the same way for me when I flashed back to stock. I couldn't find google earth in market, so I went back to cog. 2.3b8. I can't believe a core app is incompatible with 2.1.

Thought I'd update this tread, should anyone else run into the issue.
While I haven't solved the issues, I've at least narrowed down the source of the issue.
After checking another Captivate (completely 100% stock) and finding the same problem, but being able to pull down an updated version of Earth on a fresh JF6 stock ROM flash, I believe the issue's mostly likely due to the market update which was rolled out a while ago (though it's also possible that it's tied to JH7).

[Q] Google Play

Recently I acquired a new G1 Dev phone and I just got done applying CM 6.1. So far I'm very pleased with the overall result. One thing that doesn't seem to work (or I just don't do something right) is "Market" (now Google Play). If I click on the "Market" icon the web browser opens and I see the Google Play Terms of Service. One would think that there would be a "agree" button but I can't seem to find it. I would be thankful for any tips, hints, ideas.
Please don't post questions in the general section.

1 - Try to install apk of Google Play 3.10.10 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001595) or
2 - Rotate Screen
Hi guys - I'm having a similar problem with my G1. Recently I've reflashed from Donut by Laszlo to CM5.0.8 and everything was fine. Yesterday I reflashed again, this time going for the 2708+ port - basically CM5.0.8 with ramhack. I flashed with Gapps that didn't include google maps as it was said it would be a bit more stable. Plus I don't really need them so I was glad to have saved some space. What I didn't know was, it didn't contain the Market app either. Now I'm trying to get the market installed but can't seem to succeed. I found an apk that I installed and it worked for a bit, but when started downloading it forceclosed. So I tried an edited google play app, that was supposed to work on the Eclair versions of android and it failed, so I tried to install the previous one again, but that one forcecloses now instantly.
So does anyone know of a Market app for CM5 that is stable, or do I need to reflash Gapps? I would prefer simply a market app, if there is a stable one anywhere...
Never mind actually. Got it to work. I used the wrong Gapps before - that's why the Market didn't work and forceclosed. Just downloaded different Gapps, removed unwanted apks, flashed and that's it. All is fine...

Does Market Unlocker actually work anymore?

Hello there
I have been trying to use Market Unlocker for several months now to no avail. I was Googling about it and I came across this thread:
[GUIDE] Faking US Play Store without Market Unlocker or *ROOT*
It looks fantastic but unfortunately I only have one Android device, at least until my sisters get back from abroad. Is there any other way about it? I really am only looking to download and install Google Keyboard. I was able to locate the APK online before but unfortunately after I installed the APK and opened the application, I was not able to find it under Keyboards in order to enable it.
Thank you very much and have a great day.
Neither Market Unlocker or Market Enabler worked for me. I wanted to use Japanese market in order to buy application that seems to be locked to Japan (japanese SIM cards?) only. I followed the instructions to reboot device, wipe market cache, wipe dalvik etc, I tried both with vpn but no luck...
PS. Did you go to Language and Keyboards (or equivalent of this on your ROM) and enabled the keyboard, or was it not there?
Thanks for your reply. Yeah I removed Google Keyboard and reinstalled it and it showed up under settings and I'm using it at the moment - it is fantastic. Thank you!
