Can anyone get PSX4Droid running smoothly on vogue? - Touch CDMA Android Development

aa

I don't think the vogue is gonna be able to run this very well.

aww..
I was hoping to see some magic..
I guess it's too much for our good old Vogue...?

Are you running SD or nand? Nand is much more likely to work.

ive been testing this all day with different settings, games, and overclocks. Our phone just isnt good enough for this. Ive tried gran turismo, mortal kombat, tekken, nfs ect... Nothing is good enough performance wise to play. Ill stick with my epsxe for pc. Works great.

has anyone used Wiicontroller with gameboid?

has any one had success connecting a Wii Controller to the eris? I have Wii Controller IME paid, and it succesfully connects my wii controller but when i try to use it with gameboid, it does nothing. But it says the controller is hooked. And yes I've tried all the other apps to use Wii controller(paid and free).
I've tried a few different times, with different roms and different Wiiremote apps (there are 2, or were...) with limited to no luck whatsoever. From 2.1 Sense, Vanilla, or Cyanogen to 2.2 Cyanogen and Cyanogen/Aosp. It worked one time half assed, but I don't even remember which configuration I had. I was using Nesoid too, if that makes any difference. I really can't even run that all that well, even overclocked to 806 so I usually don't play it much.

really?I can play pretty much all emulators(except psx havent tried) at 768 max. but okay thanks for the info
Maybe it's just the particular Nesoid version I have or rom. I've really just wanted to play Contra and have never had it playing smooth enough for my taste. I really don't care to play games on my phone a whole lot though as I am kind of old school. I want a TV and a real controller lol. I still play NES all the time as I am a Tetris master and like to keep up my skills. I haven't even tried any other emulators so I dunno about them.

[Q]Games

What are some good games Aria ppl are trying? I know its small screen will deter some from playing games but it can handle alot.
I've been playing the Sims 3 for a while but I think there are some better graphic ones that it could do as well. The emulators are retro but has anyone tried psx4droid? Id like some feedback on that. MT3GS ppl say some psx games are laggy!

Well I know the screen is small so I found that you can use a wii controller.

You can do one of these with the WiiMote too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rxJq6tQVw8&feature=related
As far as games go, I haven't downloaded many. I like Traffic Jam tho. I probably won't install any emulators for a while. I'm having too much fun with customizations to have anytime for games haha.
Guitar Hero is great

have you guys actually tried this on your aria? Or are you saying it is possible. Because from what i've been reading/tried, it isn't.

Nah, I haven't tried it. I just thought it was pretty crazy and wanted to share the video.
yea, unfortunately... the bluetooth stack used in our phones are not compatible with the wiimote. So unless that changes, you're not going to have any luck using that particular remote.

Not true. I have hooked up my wiimote to play game boy advance games.
Things you will need:
1. Rooted phone.
2. CyanogenMod rom. Nothing with HTC Sense. Again if you are using Stock, Stock w/Root, or Liberated Stock it will not work.
3. Goto market, download "Wiimote Controller" by C.C.P. [email protected]
4. Follow Setup on the app. It will set up as another keyboard. Only useful for a handful of other apps, but like I said I use it for GBA
thanks for replying, i've been trying to find out if the cyanogen rom made changes to the bluetooth stack. Asked it twice and no resonce in that thread. Figures that I'd get an answer here lol.
This is good to know that it works when i make the switch from liberated to cyanogen

Thanks. It is awesome. I'm gonna try Gameboid later and see if I can get Advance Wars for it.
Guns 'n' Glory FREE is a great tower defense like game with a Western cowboys and indians twist. even the free version is hard enough to keep anyone entertained for a good while.
I like the games My Paper Plane 2, and Home run Battle 3D... The touch screen controls on the aria such too much for proper emulator gaming

Since not many people talked about the emulators, I guess I shall write a bit.
So I've been playing around with the emulators for the past week or so. I have the SNESoid, Gameboid, and PSX4droid emulators. Anyway first the SNES emulator. For the most part, games play pretty well. There is some occasional slowdown but not much. There is a bit lag though on games that use the SA-I processor (mario rpg and kirby super star). Sound on a few games are a little choppy but for the most part, it's decent. Just have to tinker with the settings. Games like super mario world (i have all stars) plays very well. Chrono trigger plays nicely too. I have close to 20 roms right now.
Next is the Gameboid emulator. I have a few roms for the gba emulator (FFI and FFII, and a gundam game, have tried a few others but decided to delete them lol..). I must say, the gba emulator runs the best. It's seems like the Aria hardware was made to play gba games lol. There's no lag whatsoever and the sound is great! I find it ironic because the gba had better hardware than the snes so you would think the snes roms would play better. I think later I'll try more roms like advanced wars or something.
Last is the PSX4droid emulator. Well let's just say it can play the games. First game I tried was chocobo racing. It was a little slow and the sound was bad. Then I tried digimon world 3. The game played well but a little slow and the sound was also bad lol. I'm going to try brave fencer musashi and warcraft II next. Both are currently being downloaded.
Oh btw...I suppose it would make a difference but during my gaming, I only had around 30-40mb of ram. Maybe I should've killed the other apps to gain more memory. I suppose it would run a bit better?
Angry birds beta is the funnest game i've played on the aria yet!

Good review, I've only tried snesoid thus far. Super mario rpg did see a bit of a speed up for me when I switched to cyanogen. I think I still had to set it to skip a 4 frame max though. The audio was fairly bearable then.

Anyone using N64Droid emulator?

I keep reading of people saying some games are too fast like Mario 64 but none of them seem to be running even at normal speed for me and I am OCed...anyone has some feedback?
FPSE runs at full speed but not this one.
PS I found out it comes default with frame skip...change it to manual and then 0 and it super smooth!
running at stock 1 GHz, some games (such as mario 64) ran way too fast while others (like goldeneye) could have laggy moments, the newest update (available this morning 1.1) has mostly resolved this clocking issue and everything seems to be running smooth
Need to check that out. Thanks mate...yeah Mario sounds like a chipmunk
nevermind found it
and its N64oid NO Dr....
Yeah my bad on the title.
Is this in the market. Its not showing up for me.

I guess this is due to our processors that are incompatible at the moment. Its not showing up for me either.

Probably your ROM...shows fine for me with Paragon and Dragon RC1

try clicking on gameboid or snesoid and then click view more applications under dev info maybe that might work
so it will play .z64 file? it doesnt specify the files that its compatible to run
In another thread someone claimed it does, but he said that .n64 files run smoother.

If you are worried that your current files won't work romgripper++ has an awesome collection of N64 roms, I highly recommend it

Anyone tried running N64oid?

Hey all.
So I'm running kabaldan's CM7. Bought N64oid and it keeps crashing a few seconds in. Thing is, it runs at fullspeed in games I've tried but it quickly crashes.
Anyone's running it successfully?
i´ve got my hands on a downloaded version since i would like to buy it but cant find it on market, if the market version runs like this one i won´t buy it, most games have problems, framerate wobbles a lot, either too fast either too slow ...
i have faith in the developper since i own snesoid, gensoid and nesoid and they run great
i just hope this isn´t another psx4droid scheme ....
It runs pretty well with some older games like SM64 and banjo kazooie,
But new games wont probably run smooth or even run at all... Well, atleast its a start.

psx emulator

I just got psx4droid working on my epic on Sunday. Then I switch to nexus and see around that the psx4droid app doesn't work on gingerbread. Upset. I got like 15 games on my phone. Before I download. Does fpse work on gingerbread?
Or is there something else?
Thanks.
Yes FPSE is better than psx4droid and he got very good performance
Sorry for my english
FPSE is much better than psx4droid. Highly recommended.
Psx4droid ran fine on my Nexus running 2.3.3. Just make sure you're downloading the latest version. I actually found it to outperform Fpse out of the box when playing Final Fantasy 7. I guess it really depends on the game.
Well after having some market troubles with the authorizing purchase loop for 3 hours finally got fpse. Works great. Love it.
Psx4droid didn't worm for me on 2.3.4. I thought I had the newest update I dont have it anymore to confirm. I got it straight fom the site.
Psx4droid works fine for me, make sure you're using good bios files, maybe try downloading another bios file and see if that fixes things. Roms run without a quirk as well!
Do you know how to adjust the sensetivity of the controlls? There's no over shoot for the buttons and sometimes it doesn't register the press. Very annoying.
